Hi,love the great view and privacy.
Ruth M. Oct 2019
Chapman Cottage is located right across the street from the beach with a great view right from the living room, good for storm watching. Nice quiet neighborhood not far from downtown Cannon Beach.
Kirk G. Oct 2019
The cottage is ideal. Enough space, privacy, and facilities.
Christine G. Sep 2019
We had a wonderful time in Cannon Beach. Chapman Cottage is ideally located, and has everything you might need. Hope to return soon!
Ross H. Aug 2019
Great location. Cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Courtney R. Jul 2019
The view is wonderful, and it’s a short walk across the street to a secluded beach next to Ecola State Park. The cottage is cozy, clean, and has everything you need. Highly recommend!
Charlotte M. May 2019
Hi the view was great.
Dineen F. Apr 2019
I loved the location and the beach that this cute home sat in front of. I can’t wait to return.
David H. Apr 2019
Location, view, the ocean across the street. The house was clean and had every thing to cook and eat with.
Would stay there again.
Tasha C. Apr 2019
We all loved the cottage and it’s beautiful beach. It is so tastefully decorated and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the beach was perfect. It had so much to explore and had very few people. It was exactly what we needed. We will definitely be back.
Albert L. Apr 2019
Comfortable stay here. Sunrise and waves will not disappoint.
Linda L. Jan 2019
Loved the view from the home. It was very comfortable and well stocked with kitchen supplies. Quiet neighborhood and street. Was able to contact Vacasa when we had a couple of issues to deal with - they were all solved and were "Johnny on the spot" to help us.
William M. Oct 2018
This is a very nice small home. It has everything you need. It is located in Cannon Beach and is directly across the street from Chapman Beach. The front living room large picture window overlooks the beach and ocean. My wife and I enjoyed the stay and there was plenty of room for us. There is a nice kitchen, living room, 1 large bedroom and 1 small bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a nice washer and dryer for your clothes. The beach is beautiful and long and wide. The house is a couple of minutes from Ecola Park which has nice hiking trails. It is in a very nice and convenient location.
We had no complaints or problems during our 5 day stay. The only two negative issues I can think of is that the house is located at a public beach entrance and many cars with surfers park all over the place on both sides of the street all the time. When they come back from surfing, they change from their wetsuits into dry clothes in the street, something which may not be very appealing to some people. It is a very active location with many surfers. The second issue is that there is one TV in the living room which is pretty small. They should have a larger TV to watch a movie at night. But we didn’t watch much TV. Overall, this is a great place to stay.
Jordan H. Oct 2018
Amazing home with the perfect quiet location across from Chapman Beach. We explored all around Cannon Beach and felt lucky to have landed such a great place. Will definitely return!
Laura H. Oct 2018
The coast is right out your window, and the ocean is just a short walk away. It felt almost like a private beach with Haystack Rock, tidepools and Ecola State Park all within walking distance. The cottage met our every need.
Lisa O. Sep 2018
Cute place, easy access to amazing beach. House was clean with everything needed, with the exception of firewood. We had amazing weather so the road was quite crowded with parked cars most of the time but for the most part everyone was friendly and respectful. We would stay here again for sure.

It had been five years since we stayed at Chapman Cottage. It was great to be back; it’s cozy, comfortable and charming. The location is perfect for us, within walking distance to town, or just a short drive. And the view is gorgeous, no matter the time of day or weather. We will be back!

Richard B. Aug 2018
Very clean, cozy, completely equipped, perfectly situated at the secluded north end of Chapman beach, with the beach just seconds away. I have seen many guest houses all around the world, and this is my favourite.
Randolph M. Aug 2018
The dunes, the cliffs, the trees, the birds
Patricia G. Aug 2018
The house had a great view from the living room window of people parking on the street in front and getting out their surfboards.
Terry W. Jul 2018
The house was cozy, clean and had everything we needed. The view from the living and front bedroom was wonderful. We enjoyed the very short walk down to the beach. Loved the less crowded ( north) part of beach.
We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year.
Scott L. Jul 2018
Excellent location. Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed using beach right off front porch.
Lisa M. Jul 2018
Chapman Cottage is in a beautiful location, very close to the beach. You can see the ocean from the living room. Chapman Beach is a treasure. It is not crowded and is amazing at low tide. You can walk all the way around Chapman Point and to Crescent Beach and Indian Point. Incredible tide pools!
The house was perfect for our family of five. My husband and I used one bedroom, our boys shared a room with a twin bed and twin trundle, and our daughter slept on the sofa. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and the washing machine and dryer were so nice to have!
Kathleen M. May 2018
This lovely ocean view home is walking distance to the great shops and restaurants of charming Cannon Beach but on the more quiet north end of town, across the street from Chapman Point beach. The hosts generously provide many extras to make your visit special and we enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen during our stay. The two rooms with a queen bed in one and a trundle bed in the other was perfect for our party of three. There is also a pull out couch bed in the living room. If you want easy beach access, enjoy avoiding crowds and still want to be able to easily walk into town, this is the idea house for you.
Hari Dass K. May 2018
Nice spot. Just far enough from the center of town. Just across from the beach. We had a lovely time
Sylvia Ann F. Apr 2018
Very clean and a perfect beach location.
Sandra B. Apr 2018
This is a well-furnished, cozy place close to the water in a very quiet neighborhood. Ideal for a couple or small family.
Judith S. Mar 2018
My husband, daughter and I just spent four days at Chapman Cottage an absolutely loved it. The cottage is very comfortably furnished with an absolutely breath taking view of the ocean. We walked and explored the beach daily, walked to and from town, and spent time at Ecola State Park which is just a short drive away. The staff was very responsive when we called with one small glitch. The cottage was immaculate and just as described.
Kimberly P. Feb 2018
Ocean waves and sounds from the front porch and front picture window.
Old school brick wood-burning fireplace and hardwoods lends itself to a cozy reset for those needing to be refreshed and read, knot, paint, write or stroll the hills of parks and cottages or a run down through the adorable Cannon Beach.
Sand dollars galore on the beach just down through the trail steps away from the brick/rock drive...
Vaulted kitchen nook and Master opens up the cottage to feel make it feel more open..
Salam L. Sep 2017
It's a street away w great ocean view. Very quiet cozy place. Heat and hot water perfect! Got to use the fireplace and it made for nice evenings overlooking Ocean. Rooms are small but plenty of cots and blankets. Well stocked kitchen. Would totally stay here again!
Agustin E. Jul 2017
Having vacationed in Cannon Beach for 2 decades, I thought I was familiar with all parts of the city - the main street, north part of town near the estuary, the presidential streets, south end, Tolovona - but I had never stayed at the far north of town just before Ecola. This house is located in that neighborhood and it is unbelievable - though it is still a public beach, it is effectively private given the estuary of the river and on the other side of Chapman point is a tidepool area filled with starfish, anemones, mussels, etc. It is really incredible that there is a rental property fronting the Pacific Ocean.
Colin C. Jul 2017
This was a great, clean, cute house directly across from the beach. Not one house between you and the beach. The neighborhood is beautiful. The view is great, the short walk through the dunes to the beach was even better.
Lisa S. Jun 2017
For the price, this is house is over valued. It's tired and uninspiring, but the views helped to make up for it. Also for the price, we would prefer to spend this much money to stay at the Stephanie Inn and have a top notch facility. (Stephanie Inn was full.)
Scott W. Jun 2017
This was our first visit to Cannon Beach and it was spectacular. We really enjoyed being close to the beach, and were happy to be on the north end where the beach was much quieter. Also very close to Ecola State Park which was fantastic.
Damon M. Jun 2017
Always a nice relaxing time yet there is never enough time to see it all. Already planning a trip back...
Martha L. May 2017
The location of this cottage is perfect. Views of ocean from living room, access to beach directly across the street and very close to Ecola State Park. Town is a short walk.
John A. May 2017
My wife and I with our son and grandson spent 2 nights at this great location with a tremendous view. We dinned in 1 evening with our son cooking a great meal of fresh caught salmon that we purchased at the fish market in town with the adequate supply of cookware and place settings . If you would like a relaxing meal with nice atmosphere we recommend Pelican Brewing on S. Hemlock downtown Cannon Beach. Our grandson loved the paths through the beach dunes right out front the cottage!
CREIG K. May 2017
Ocean view and beach access is great. Plus, the beach at this location is very pleasant. Whale spouts were visible one afternoon from the cabin.
Lyn E. Apr 2017
Although pretty, the photos really don't capture the beautiful views from this home. (The beach and sea is much closer than it looks .) We loved watching the sea from the living room - just breathtaking! Close proximity to what felt like a private beach, yet within walking distance to Cannon Beach and the shops - so the best of both worlds. Ecola State Park is near by offering many different hikes and beaches also. The home was quite comfortable and has all one needs, suited our family of 4 very well. It really is a fabulous location! We loved every minute of our vacation 😄
Karen L. Mar 2017
Would have liked firewood provided for the fireplace. . .
Tony F. Mar 2017
My husband and i spent the month of February at Chapman Cottage and loved every minute of it. The view from the cottage is amazing! We had rain, snow, windy days, sunshine and many beautiful sunsets. Michael the manager was very helpful with anything we needed. We will be back!
Evan B. Dec 2016
Well equipped, cozy property with open fire. Opposite the beach and close to great hiking. We really enjoyed our stay.
Valerie P. Dec 2016
With the beach right across the street, the house cannot be beat!
The housekeepers do a grand job of cleaning, which is very important to me.
The art posters are a nice touch.
My friend said, it just had a homey feel.
David C. Nov 2016
This is a great property! Cozy and clean! Access to beach and proximity to Ecola, Haystack and downtown Cannon Beach can't be matched for the price! Tremendous value.
Valerie P. Nov 2016
The location can't be beat. It was close to town, which is filled with restaurants and shops. The view was wonderful. You can sit in the living room or on the front porch to watch the ocean. It was right on a path to the beach, which was an easy walk, without stairs. The back deck was very large, and had a big table and bbq for sunny, warm day entertaining.
Graham C. Oct 2016
Comfortable cabin with a fireplace and a great view of the beach. Great location - feels remote, but close enough to pop into Cannon Beach for dinner. I would recommend to my friends.
Kristy B. Oct 2016
The beach is literally right outside the front door. It was amazing to listen to the ocean waves every night. Friendly neighbors, quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Great for a relaxing family vacation.
Amanda C. Oct 2016
This cottage was perfect for my boyfriend and I. We were able to walk right onto the beach and experience a most wonderful sunset. And even when we didn't leave the cottage, we were still able to watch the sunset and listen to the sound of the ocean straight from the living room.

We had a wonderful stay!
Peter K. Sep 2016
We loved the neighborhood, but won't likely go back to the house, which needs some TLC and investment in freshening up to make it worth the price point.
James L. Aug 2016
Nice property, we situated to the beach. Only one full size bed in the house.
Dara H. Jul 2016
Best location and beach in Cannon Beach -- was an amazing trip!
Honor S. Jul 2016
Staying north of Cannon Beach was perfect. The beach was lovely and much quieter than around CB. The house had a beautiful view of the ocean and a short hike down to the beach. It was a functional size and close to town. We had a wonderful time
Bruce J. Jul 2016
Awesome location
Doug H. Jul 2016
We had a great weekend in Cannon Beach! The home is cozy with a nice ocean view. A few minutes walk puts you on a quiet beach with fantastic Oregon coast views.

We will definitely stay here again.
Sozila N. Jul 2016
We had a wonderful stay. We could see the beach from our window. We almost had the beach to ourselves. We really liked the furnishings and the décor. The kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely stay there again.
Debra T. Jun 2016
We had a great time at the beach, thank you.
Jerzy T. May 2016
The master bedroom is great. The view is beautiful. The pull -out sofa in the living room is comfortable. However, the second bedroom is EXTREMELY tiny. So, it is a perfect place for four or less people.
Nathan H. May 2016
Quiet place outside main Cannon Beach. Great location
Vincent H. May 2016
Minutes from the beach and downtown. Very comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay.
David P. May 2016
Great time.
Amy L. Apr 2016
The location and house is the perfect get away. It is just far enough away from the crowds at Cannon Beach Proper yet close enough to walk or engage in shopping. The beach right in front of the house is quiet and less crowded than a little further south. I enjoyed my morning coffee just sitting on the front deck and listening to the ocean and enjoying the view. The home is clean, comfortable and everything needed for a relaxing stay at the beach. We will definitely return.
Simon C. Apr 2016
The cottage on Chapman Beach was a great place to stay right on the beach. The bedroom for two was a little small but the cottage is in good shape and clean. The cable tv had plenty of channels. Kitchen had all the utensils that were needed. The beach is quieter than the Cannon beach side.
Patricia K. Apr 2016
This is an excellent property for a couple or small family. We loved the close proximity to the beach and to town. We took advantage of the fireplace and the front porch and spent 2 wonderful days just relaxing. We will definitely return to this property and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something cozy and quaint at Cannon Beach. Really nice neighborhood.
Renne H. Apr 2016
Beautiful Location. Very comfortable
Hailey H. Mar 2016
Would stay again
Anne C. Mar 2016
My husband proposed to me on Chapman Beach 17 years ago. We've been looking for a rental in that area since, and were thrilled to find Chapman Cottage with an ocean view no less! Very nice cottage, quiet area, and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Also right next to Ecola Park with trails to an even more private beach.
Amy H. Mar 2016
The only thing negative I can say is our trip was too short! We loved the house and its location. Cannon Beach is a great place to visit!
Nancy L. Mar 2016
We have come to this cottage for years. We love it.
Julie G. Feb 2016
This is such a cute cottage and a really fabulous location. Chapman Beach is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The house was in excellent shape, minus the much too old mattresses and very bad pillows. If the mattresses get a much needed upgrade, you can't go wrong staying at Chapman Cottage.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and your suggestion regarding the mattresses and pillows. We will advise the owner so they can take it under consideration. We hope to see you again!
Jodi R. Jan 2016
Everyone goes to The Beach with different goals but relaxing and unwinding are often a part of it. Our small group of girl friends was there to celebrate a special birthday. The Chapman Cottage has a great location, the front view is toward the ocean, the back has a hillside and trees. The entire rental process was handled very professionally and with good service. A clean cottage with plenty of supplies lends a feeling of welcoming hospitality. It is a cottage and the "sleeps six" is accurate but should be taken in light of who's in your group. A party of four adults was just right for us. We would go back and have already talked about it.
Debra M. Oct 2015
We booked this home for a girls' weekend and it's a lovely location. It's away from the crowds at Cannon Beach and we were treated to some great views: a herd of elk, deer, beautiful ocean and surfers taking advantage of a big wave break. The home is small but comfortable and has a nice back deck area for outdoor dining, with views to the hills. The front deck is tiny but will accommodate a couple of chairs for ocean watching.

The only downside to this home are the sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom has a comfortable bed and private bath but the 2nd bedroom only has a trundle bed and it's small. This home probably wouldn't work for couples wanting to share it. My girlfriend barely fit on the trundle bed. And being taller than her, I would not have fit at all. Anyone taller than 5'4" wouldn't be able to sleep on the trundle bed. There's a sofa sleeper but there is NO privacy if you choose that sleeping option.

It's a short walk into town and the new coffee/antique store just as you cross the bridge is worth stopping in for a delicious specialty coffee drink (pumpkin lattes were astonishingly good). The owners are lovely too! We also hiked to Ecola Park and then found a shortcut back down to the property. One day we were greeted by a herd of elk on the beach path and quietly found another way to get to the house. They are beautiful creatures but BIG! We chatted with surfers heading out to the waves and sat on the bench across from the house with glasses of wine and truly enjoyed the peace and serenity of this location.

The owners should consider a wall bed or something that offers a better 2nd bedroom sleeping option, but other than that, this place is a gem!

Portland girls at the beach!
George M. Oct 2015
I am guessing the home is about 30 years old and has never been updated. Although public access to beach was convenient, it also caused excessive foot and car traffic in front of property.
Sarah E. Sep 2015
The cottage is older and small compared to the huge houses all around, but a wonderful refuge- comfortably slept our group of 5 adults. Unbeatable view of the ocean from the living room and a nearly private beach just across the street! Cozy fireplace and comfortable appointments. Overall, we had a lovely stay. Really appreciated the washer/dryer too!
Rebecca S. Aug 2015
We had a great time! The house was clean, close to the beach, had great views and everything we needed.
Denise D. Jul 2015
The cottage was lovely! Beach access was just steps from the front door. The shopping was amazing. It always is at Cannon Beach though. The accommodations were perfect for 6 people. It was a girl's weekend of relaxing and getting to know one another better. We'd definitely rent it again.
ROBYN M. Jul 2015
Vacationed here with my son and my 6-yr-old granddaughter and 10-yr-old grandsons. House was perfect for us and the beach across from the house was the perfect play site for the kids to boogie boards, explore tide pools, build sand castles, etc. Deck out back provided a private, peaceful setting for meals. Would definitely rent here again.
Matt A. Jul 2015
While the home isn't the biggest in the Chapman Point area, it's perfectly situated to give access a delightful stretch of beach away from the crowds of downtown Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock. These are easily accessible by car or a moderate walk, but we felt that it was perfect for us: peaceful, pretty, and near enough.
