Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property! Great location, great house, room inside and out for our kids to play. The neighborhood is quiet and we loved having access to a beach!

Emily’s home was very clean and a great family space! Emily was great at communicating and the post was very accurate. It is a 5 minute walk to private beach, boat launch, and dock. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises!

Our family of five loved staying at this rental. It was very clean and spacious. The check in instructions were very easy and I never had to reach out to the owner because everything was already taken care of before our arrival. The rental is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. I would recommend this rental.

Yes, the garden is beautifully maintained with 4 comfortable seats for outdoor relaxing. The kitchen ranks high on my rating scale, having adequate cooking tools, good equipment and supplies. (except we never found table placemats to use, and substituted paper towels instead). Emily was wonderful to communicate with.

We had an amazing time on Orcas! The house was clean and very well laid out. It’s essentially all on one level with a few steps down into the game room. There is a large master suite with plenty of closet space and a stand up shower. We used the small bedroom for our son and there was room for the pack and play we brought next to the bed. There was a bathroom right next door with drawers to keep his clothes and a bathroom with a bathtub for him. While he napped each day we sat in the beautiful garden reading. There’s also a grill and huge grass yard to run behind the house. The location was perfect with just a five minute drive to town and a quick 10 minutes to Cascade Lake where we spent a good amount of time swimming. Would highly recommend!!

This house was clean, roomy (for a family of 4), and very well-appointed with everything we needed. Would happily return.

Clean, well equipped and quiet. Home is away from the bustle, it is located in a subdivision type neighborhood. A short stroll to the dock/water. Need a rental car downtown eatsound area is 3.5 mi away. Highly recommend.

This home was perfect for my visit. The great room accommodated my kids easily. The ping pong table and badminton were definitely a hit. Love that the tennis courts were close. Beautiful place to reconnect with my family. Highly recommend!

We loved North Beach Retreat! It was very comfortable, there was plenty of room for our family of four (two adults and two teens) and the location was great! It was nice to be able to walk to the beach/dock and we caught some beautiful sunsets from there. It was also great being centrally located on the island, close to Eastsound and easy access to and from the ferry and all the island has to offer (parks, hiking, kayaking, activities). The garden is beautiful and the back yard is huge. We also loved the ping pong table! All in all, a great spot!

This home was the perfect place for our family’s trip to Orcas Island with our two small children. The home was very clean and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable, linens were warm and cozy, water pressure was great in the showers. There is lots of flat grassy yard to run in along the back, and the front garden was stunning and a peaceful place to sit and relax. For kids, they provided some toys, movies, a step stool and plastic dishes, which was much appreciated. A quick drive (or a long-ish walk!) will take you right into Eastsound. Very comfortable, and highly recommended!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We were so comfortable and cozy and had the best time playing cards and ping pong in your wonderful Great Room. Orcas Island is a really special place and we had the perfect spot to come home to after a day of exploring.

The owners really go "above and beyond" to make sure your stay will be comfortable. They seem to think of everything for someone new to the island. You are located in a quiet area to rest, read, play ping pong, tennis, and of course watch the fabulous sunsets from the dock. The kitchen is well equipped and we even grilled our dinners on two nights. We were close enough to head into town to enjoy the numerous restaurants and bakeries. The local grocery store is very complete. We highly recommend staying here (we will if we return).

Ben .Jun 2018
This is an excellent space and is accurately described through the photographs and description. It was clean and well-stocked and provides a good base from which to explore the island.

The house and location were ideal - the house is beautiful, spacious and super well-appointed for an easy stay. We liked being close to Eastsound as well as a quiet beach area to see sunsets, and in between everything on the island. The house is fun and pleasant inside, and its gardens are beautiful. Thank you for a lovely stay, Emily and Rick!

The North Shore Retreat is the PERFECT place for a quiet, weekend getaway. We could have spent days just relaxing on the front patio, playing ping pong (surprisingly a huge hit with my parents), grilling outback, or playing croquet. There is also a DVD player with a selection of movies that make for a perfect, cozy after dinner activity. The place is newly re-done and sparkling clean with comfy beds. It is a quick walk down to the pier - next time we will take down chairs to watch the sunset with views of Mount Baker to the north. Eastsound is a quick drive (just a little too far to walk) but you can arrange a taxi on the island if you don't have a DD. Overall, it was a lovely weekend - Emily is extremely responsive - although we didn't need much since it was an easy check-in/out process and the house was fully equipped with everything we needed.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The location is perfect, a little ways out of town but not to far, near the water and in a peaceful neighborhood. The home is in excellent shape, and the property is beautiful. This would be a great place for a couple of families to share. There is plenty of space and the bonus room would make any kid happy. Spoke at length with Emily on the phone when I managed to loose my entry instructions and she was extremely kind and helpful. In fact I found myself chatting away with her like and old friend. If you are looking for a nice place to stay on Orcas I would highly recommend this place.

Great location on the island! Near eastsound and in a quiet neighborhood with beach and dock access! The house was in really good condition and perfect for us!

We arrived midday on Sunday for a spring break trip. The skies were overcast, but the house warmed quickly and we made a delicious fish chowder in the efficient and nicely stocked kitchen. Pots and pans, kitchen tools and good counter space allowed several cooks to be in the kitchen at once. Walks to the dock and rocky beach were daily events, and the location of the house, in the middle of the island, is perfect for all kinds of island activity. We hiked in Moran State Park to the east and also on Turtleback Mountain on the western side of the island. We were five minutes from the center of Eastsound, close to Darville's Bookstore, the Island Market, and Brown Bear Bakery. Our evenings were spent reading and gazing out the north-facing windows to see Matia and Sucia Island and the sound. Our three-year-old grandson loved the games and toys, and learned to play his own version of ping pong with his dad and grandpa. The two bedrooms and the bonus room with two stacked single beds were all great sleeping spaces, quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms are immaculately fresh and clean with fluffy white towels. The native plant and herb garden was lovely with tiny tulips coming up near the gate. Across the street is a stand of fir trees where we watched deer Parking in the double wide driveway was ample, and the neighborhood is quiet. This is a very special rental with views out of every window and comfortable furnishings, lots of island maps, and books about San Juan history. Lots of thoughtful touches from the host make it a good place to enjoy Orcas Island.

We had a relaxing spring break getaway in this cozy house. It was family friendly (we have a 3 1/2 year old) and when we had stormy weather we were able to spend time inside with games and the ping-pong table. This North Beach property was close to Eastsound, providing quick and easy trips to the grocery store. The kitchen was well stocked with tools and utensils and we found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable without having to eat out. Some of our group enjoyed hikes around Mountain Lake and Turtleback Mountain, while the other part of our group spent time in Eastsound. Quick walks to the beach to hunt for sticks and shells and enjoy the views were also a highlight.
