We rented this house while visiting our daughter, there were 9 of us and we were very comfortable. The house is older so the floor squeaks, that's to be expected. The kids had a blast playing hide and seek with the various stairs. If you have a problem with stairs this might not be the house for you. There are a lot of homeless that are about so make sure you keep your car locked and valuables aren't visible. Wish there was a curtain on the window in the ensuite bathroom.
The house itself is gorgeous. Walking in the front door was like walking back in time. The home is beautifully designed an constructed. The designing of it is incredible and masterfully crafted for space and storage.
Campton was supplied with all the amenities needed (like salt & pepper, oils, etc..! All towels, beddings and bathrooms were also supplied with the essentials w/linens. "Shampoo & cream rinse was in big bottles. The Dove brand, which is a Very nice product. Your food is about the only things you need to go purchase!
All of the home was keep up well and very clean. Beds & furniture were sooo Comfortable. Slept like a baby.
Very warm and cozy.♀️♀️
I'd definately come back. Oh, the staff is GREAT... Charlie was sooo helpful. I got fogged in and had to stay an additional 4 days, before I could leave. Thank you God, and Charlie... I was able to go back to Campton and finish out my time in Comfort. "YOUR AWESOME CHARLIE. ♥️
Thanks to all of you. I think now, I may even move to Eureka... and have a home like Campton built.
Going up & down all the staircases, finding out the in and outs of the rooms in the house... was sooo fun. I just knew this house looked awesome. "I was THOURALLY Satisfied!"
Thanks to all of you, Sincerely, Renay' Sandra Apperson
We came into town to celebrate the marriage of our daughter and this was the PERFECT house. It ended up being the central hangout for the entire family, siblings, grandkids and elders. The dining room worked great with it's natural light for the makeup artist and hair stylist. The front room with it's huge table was a blessing for all to gather around to visit, drink, eat and watch grands play in the adjoining room. Bedrooms were plenty big enough, the brides sister and family stayed in the Davis room with their own private bath which was great for their little one. Location, location, location . . . other family members stayed close by and the wedding was at the Wharfinger Building just down the road, super close. All in all wonderful accommodations, very clean, plenty of dishes/glasses and great location. We would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
This is a great, old home with lots of character. I lived in Eureka for years and renting a home with a view of Carson Mansion was so nostalgic. It’s walking distance from Old Town, which was very convenient. It was well stocked and comfortably housed 8 of us plus a big group of friends for a dinner party one night.
We booked this house with two other couples for a weekend wedding in Samoa and it was a great centrally located house! We had two young toddlers with us and the house was comfortable, had two bath tubs (with bubble bath provided!) easy to check in and out of, and overall stress free. Yes, the vagrants loiter around the neighborhood a bit, but that’s really everywhere in Downtown Eureka, so is what it is. Thanks for a great stay!
Enjoyed staying in Eureka. Found mold in the hallway bathroom that could possibly be black mold.
Stayed here with coworkers for a business trip. The location was convenient for our needs and centrally located between all 3 cities. This is a historic property and in good condition for this status. Plenty of room for us.
Overall very nice house, clean well taken care of. The only things that should be addressed is a few of the lights did not have working bulbs , very dark in the house , needs higher wattage bulbs through out. Sink in kitchen had a leak in the trap and had a big pot under it , that could be a $ 3.00 fix and the sink in the hall way upstairs does not drain well and fills up with water fast . The sinks should be taken care of just because of any possible water damage that can happen. I am a contractor and have seen things go bad fast in homes , this is a very special house do to it history and age . So it only takes a little amount of money it fix these things. Would be happy to visit again. Had a very pleasant stay.
Great little down town, house is walkable to everything.
