We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach barn vacation rental. It is absolutely adorable , comfortable and very very clean. It was a bonus that we could have our dog with use so we did not have to board her. The only thing I would suggest if a few more pots and pans? There is only 1 very small skillet and one small pot. We weren’t cooking there so it really didn’t matter. I was going to do d ST one thanksgiving prep and discovered I really couldn’t . The other thing was there are 0 wine glasses.
The hot tub needs assistance. A few more glasses would be appreciated, however, AWESOME, cooking on gas. Beds were super comfy. Very nicely located to Redwoods park, fern canyon, Humboldt park. Needs a new coffee maker.
The layout was really good for us. the location is quiet. Access to the 101 is about .6 miles. I would recommend more seating in the living area, we utilized our air mattress to create seating for 5 since the seating is for 4. The kitchen table was generous and accommodating. The storage room/laundry room at the back of the house was so clean and so useful. A great place to stage before the hot tub and a great place to store excess traveling items. I would recommend this location.
We were in town for Humboldt State Graduation. The location is only about 10 minutes from the campus. To be honest I spent very little tine there as we were busy with graduation activities and parties. However the time we did spend was great. The bedding, showers, and hot tub were all good quality. The washer / dryer came in handy. I highly recommend this property.
This house was so darling. The decor was amazing and we felt right at home! This house had everything we needed and more! So cozy and fresh!
Really enjoyed a restful stay. The house had what we needed. We were central to beaches, hikes and town. It was clean and had lots of room for us. Highly recommend.
Beautiful, very newly renovated house. Great hot tub. Good location for touring the area. Parking right in front. Needs an electric coffee maker in the kitchen!
Three couples stayed here for a mini family reunion and it worked so well. The term "beach" being in the description is a bit of a stretch as the beach is in the same town, but not necessarily walkable. With that being said, it is an easy drive to a beautiful beach as well as easy access to McKinleyville and Arcata. Would definitely stay again.
Great house, all new, clean and comfortable with well appointed decor and all new furnishings
This home was very nicely decorated with plenty of room to spread out. It's about a 40 minute drive to Redwoods National park.
The unit was clean and is consistent with pictures. The owners are great.
Wonderful home, we loved the style!!! Very clean property and well maintained. I would like to see more kitchen items for cooking if we were to come back.
Booking, and stay went very well. Hot tub was a great bonus and beds were very comfortable. New house, and very clean. A coffe pot and out grill would have been nice.
Though not directly on the beach, this darling house is conveniently located just outside of McKinnleyville, in a tiny neighborhood. This home is lovely indeed, just as the photos show. The owners live right next door, which was very helpful also. Our daughters were so excited to stay in a 'fixer upper' style home!
Enjoyed the rental and coast. The facility was very clean. Convenient with 2 and one half baths. Would do it again. Needed comfortable seating around the tv for 6. Smoke alarm went off every time we cooked. Very loud and too sensitive
Spent 3 nights with family during our coastal trip. The home was beautiful, comfortable and included everything we needed for our stay. We have small kids, so the backyard space and quiet street were perfect for us.
We used the Beach Barn for our base for exploring the Redwoods Coast. It is new and very tastefully decorated. Bedrooms are all upstairs and comfortable. We were two couples so had plenty of space. The kitchen is nice but could use a coffee maker. There is a French Press, but awfully messy. The seating in the living area was adequate but could use a larger couch especially if more than four stay here. The hot tub was very nice after the day's hikes and kept very clean. In fact the entire house was spotless with excellent decorating as well. Overall, a great place along the incredible Redwoods Coast.
The Beach Barn House is a newly renovated house with convenient and comfortable design. We stayed there for 3 nights and everybody enjoyed it very much!
The house is beautiful and clean. The beds were comfortable, and we were very pleased that there was a jacuzzi - which we used every evening to help soak away sore hiking muscles.
The rental met and exceeded every expectation I had. It was clean, nicelybdecorated, and comfortable. My kids absolutely loved it, and I was impressed, too. Would definitely stay here again!
Our two families (2A/1 teen, and 2A/1 baby and 1 toddler) enjoyed our vacation at the Beach Barn. Very cute and comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood. We used the house as a home base for beach and redwood explorations. If you want to be in town, this isn't the place for you; but if you want a safe and quiet neighborhood, then it is. We left some notes for the owners that more kitchen supplies would be useful (there's minimal cooking and dishware). Otherwise we enjoyed our stay here, including use of the hot tub!
This was a great home base for our explorations throughout the area. We enjoyed nearby Clam Beach, Hiller Park, and the Hammond Trail, as well as Arcata's Community Forest and the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka.
This clean, new, spacious home is very comfortable and well-equipped, and served our party of four adults very well. The kitchen had just what we needed to cook our own fairly elaborate dinners. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood, and fairly close to downtown McKinleyville. The owner lives nearby, and when we called him at 9:30 pm because we couldn't figure out how the TV worked, he came right over and showed us how to set it up. All in all we had a great stay.
Great space, close to the airport and clam beach. Enjoyed the decor, and the beds were very cozy. Hot tub was a bonus, and the fell was bright and clean. Host was very kind.
Lovely house!! You’re in a little cul de sac near the Arcata airport. All the finishing were very nice, loved the hot tub and the fact that we could have our dogs with us. My husband and I (and our fur babies) loved our time at the rental celebrating my birthday! Thanks again!
What an amazing place, and perfect for our party of adults and two kids! All of the rooms were comfy and well-appointed. Everything was brand new and the living room was the perfect place for our 3 year old to play games and for us to relax with a movie after exploring the area. Speaking of which, this is the perfect home base for a Redwood Vacation, as well for surfing. The laundry room is big enough to hold your surfboards and wetsuits. The hot tub was the clincher for us - whenever we spent a day hiking in the Redwoods, we would come back and relax in the hot tub so that we could be ready for the next day's adventures. If you like to cook, the kitchen will be perfect for you as the stove is very high-end and there is a big fridge. The bedrooms are all upstairs and very comfortable with plenty of space to hang up your clothes and extremely comfortable beds. The Master has a king-size bed which was a treat and a deck. The other bedroom has a full-size super comfortable bed as well, with a deep tub in the shared bathroom. The other bedroom is perfect for kids as there are two twin beds. It truly felt like a dream home from HGTV!
Also, the owner, Chris, lives across the street and was really friendly and helpful. He told our friends about local surf spots and even let them borrow some gear!
I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore the beauty of the Redwoods!
