Colorful chalet on riverfront w/shared pool & hot tub - close to ski slopes
Glamorous mountain living meets a prime location in this riverview Vail ski lodging. This home is on the bus route to mountain slopes and offers guests access to a seasonal swimming pool and a year-round hot tub.
Located along the curve of Gore Creek on the edge of Vail, this home is just over three miles from Vail Ski Resort, and about 10 miles to Beaver Creek Resort. Its location in a neighborhood of similar townhomes keeps the noise level low.
Lovingly designed by a local high-end designer in Vail, this townhouse offers a fresh take on a modern home while paying homage to its mountain surroundings. Soft colors and textures, geometric patterns, and wood beams create a fine balance of comfort and rustic sophistication.
Upon entering the home, guests may store their gear in the spacious mud/laundry room just off the entry way. Toss active wear directly into the washer and dryer if you need to freshen your wardrobe. There are two full bathrooms, so guests won't have to wait too long for the shower.
Gather around the flatscreen TV on a periwinkle L-shaped sofa while the fireplace in the corner warms the home. Settle into one of the armchairs beside the hearth for extra warmth while you flip through the channels on cable or check snow reports on WiFi.
Visitors during the warm months will like the back deck and nice-sized lawn. Admire the tree line and listen to the babbling of Gore Creek. Explore the forests with your children, or take them to the water's edge to skip rocks and look for fish. Jump in the antique gondola car on the property and play pretend.
It's just a quick stroll to the shared pool and hot tub to beat the heat or sooth sore muscles. While the pool is only open during the summer, the hot tub is available all year round!
The spacious, well-lit kitchen with stainless steel appliances and blue cabinets will become the group cook's favorite spot in the house. Its open floor plan makes it easy for multiple guests to cook together, or for the cook to chat with those at the six-top dining table. Dine, put the dishes in the dishwasher, and move on to the next adventure with ease.
Up the stairs is a reading nook perfect for the family bookworm or the night owl with reading lights and a cozy sofa. The tall, slanted ceilings create a feeling of space and airiness.
This home can sleep six guests easily (four adults maximum, please) in the two large bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs has one full bathroom to share between the two rooms, though guests can easily spread out to the bathroom downstairs.
One of the bedrooms has two twin beds, perfect for friends or siblings to share. Get cozy on the window seat with a cup of tea, or rock quietly in the rocking chair in the corner. This room even has a vanity with a sink, so guests won't have to compete for space in the bathroom.
The second bedroom has a king bed and a wicker reading chair. A private balcony makes for a great place to read or doze in the sunshine.
The sofa upstairs folds out into a sleeper sofa for extra accommodations. This home is great for active families or groups of close friends exploring the mountains of the Vail Valley.
This is a great rental for winter visitors skiing any of the nearby resorts. Guests can shuttle everywhere on the town bus, so there's no need to worry about parking. Those who aren't into alpine skiing/riding will enjoy the extensive trail system of the Vail Nordic Center, snowshoeing, or booking a sleigh ride with a nearby stable. Take the kids to the heart of Vail for ice skating or sledding.
When summer comes, it's time to bring out the bikes and the hiking boots. This home is close to several nearby hiking trails, including the ones on Vail Mountain. Golf is a must at one of several nearby golf courses, or you could take the kids for mini-golf. Vail Mountain has several family-friendly options including ziplines, a rope course, disc golf, and gondola rides.
Take a day trip to the shores of Lake Dillon for fishing and water recreation like sailing and stand-up paddle boarding. Make sure to check out the farmers' market in Vail for fresh produce, breads, and baked goods, plus the myriad dining options for the times you don't want to cook at home. Come into Vail in the early evening for the Hot Summer Nights concert series.

A very comfortable condo! You can’t get any closer to the Vail bus.
Beau B.Feb 2020
Ideal location! Just a short drive down the access road into Lionshead or Vail Village with two grocery stores directly across the interstate. Remodeled very nicely with an amazing view and gore creek right outside the back patio and balcony. Would definitely stay here again and surprised at the value / price (especially for Vail). Only thing to consider is - this really only works for one family or a guys / girls trip. The upstairs has the two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. There is another full bath downstairs next to the kitchen and living room but it’s not near either bedroom. Worked perfectly for our family of 5.
Ted F.Oct 2019
Comfortable beds, but especially the view of Gore Creek and the sound of the water running over the rocks, right at our back door,Very Soothing!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property and found it to be exactly as pictured and described. It is well appointed and accommodated our family of four very well. Having read the reviews prior to booking I was concerned about the beds and potential interstate noise but neither affected our stay. We found the master bed to be quite comfortable and the twin beds were on par with other rentals we've stayed in. As for the noise, we've traveled to Vail for the past 25 years and know that West Vail sits closer to I70, so we expected the level of interstate noise we could hear at this property. Having Gore Creek literally in the back yard was lovely. We would definitely return to this property.

We really loved staying here. This rental is the perfect home away from home. It is beautifully decorated, and the open floor layout nicely accommodated our family gatherings.
The community is very quiet and is easily accessible from the freeway, and just a few minutes to everything you need to see in and around Vail.
The rental unit itself was very clean and came fully stocked (i.e. trash bags, paper towels, toiletries, etc.). We appreciated how the unit came with all the kitchen appliances like an espresso machine, coffee maker, toasters, small grill.
Soledas V.Feb 2019
The house is really nice and comfortable, maybe for 4 people instead of 6, as one of the queen Beds are in between the rooms.
Kyle R.Jan 2019
Bus stop right outside the door, made it convenient getting to the village. Still was a little further from Lionshead than we had wanted but overall was great.
Jamie H.Oct 2018
Beautiful condo! Great location right in the river and next to a bus stop you can take into town. Comfortable king sized bed! The coffee pot broke while we were there- no one’s fault but did not hear back from the email we sent the manager but, overall, not a big deal ;) Will definitely be back.
Maya H.Sep 2018
The condo was spacious, well appointed, with a nice back deck overlooking the river. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. Before our trip they were great about sending updates, but once we were there and needed help they were not responsive. The entry is a keypad lock which in theory is convenient, but this one seemed to be half working as it was loose and took 10+ attempts to get to work. We emailed and called the person who had contacted us before the trip to see if they could send someone out to look at it or provide instructions on what we were doing wrong, but never heard back. This affected our stay as we limited the times we left the condo, afraid we wouldn't be able to get back in.

This is a great stay in Vail for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Located about 3 miles west of Vail Village, this home is right off the interstate (both a positive and negative) and Gore Creek. Decorated both beautifully and comfortably, with 1 full bath downstairs and 2 bedrooms, a full bath, and an open loft area upstairs. Laundry room off the entry with washer and dryer is a major plus!! Located in a quiet townhome complex, open floorplan with a great view from the kitchen/living rooms to Gore Creek out back. Very close to the free shuttle stop - about 10 minutes into Vail and 25-30 minutes return trip (although we just drove most of the time, since summer parking is free).
Downsides (minor, but worth mentioning): some interstate noise (not noticeable with doors/windows closed, but drowned out the sound of Gore Creek that we had been looking forward to). Being 3 miles outside of Vail Village, nothing is walkable. Kitchen goods (utensils, dishes, glasses, pans, etc.) were limited (e.g., no wine glasses; only 1-2 knives) and mismatched, as were the bathroom linens (random collection of non-matching towels). Both were adequate for our needs, but seemed unusual for the otherwise beautifully decorated property (and could be a problem for anyone planning to do extensive cooking, rather than basic breakfast and picnic prep like we were doing). That being said, we would definitely stay here again.
Patrick C.Jul 2018
Great rental and great location. Right on the river and next to bus stop that goes into town. Perfect size for a family of 4
Susan N.Jul 2018
Perfect...location, decor, space, sounds of Gore Creek, free buses, Safeway, activities!
Easy to rent, find and check out. Loved it!
Sabra E.May 2018
Not only was the decor super cute and truly made us feel like we had escaped from the daily humdrum, but it was backed up to a rushing river. The sound was amazing to fall asleep to, and the huge windows in the living room made us feel like we had been plopped right in the middle of a Forrest. Highly recommenced.
Eric L.Mar 2018
Looked forward to coming back here every day. Felt just like Home. This place was wonderfully updated. We really enjoyed being there.
Brandon K.Jan 2018
Great place, easy to get to the slopes, comfortable.
Laura F.Jan 2018
This spot is so cute and secluded, it felt like we were all on our own on the mountain. But extremely close to Lionshead, Vail Village, and Golden peak, this spot was so convenient. Now that I understand the area I think we would stay in the exact same place.
Christine B.Dec 2017
Good location. Nice decor.
Joseph B.Dec 2017
The web site information that led to us choosing this property was very accurate. It totally met our expectations and we were very comfortable and satisfied with the location and amenities.
Casey H.Nov 2017
Lovely and accommodating spot
Cornelia T.Nov 2017
Great place to stay. The noise from I-70 is not bad at all but I would recommend new windows for the master and living room to insulate the place better. Otherwise we loved the interior design and had a great time over the weekend.
Iliana C.Oct 2017
Happy with the stay. The property is very nice.
Brian K.Oct 2017
Tons of road noise from the master bedroom. Even with a fan on and a white noise machine the I70 road noise is annoying and constant through out the day and night. While the unit is next to the gore creek which is nice it is also right next to the interstate and probably only new windows could block the car noise.
Shelly B.Sep 2017
Our family stayed at the condo over Labor Day Weekend. Though initially disappointed that the condo wasn't in Vail Village as the posting indicated, we did thoroughly enjoy the location next to Gore Creek. Our boys spent most of the weekend in the creek.
The bus stop is indeed very close, and its about 10 minute ride to Vail Village, but due to construction, the return ride from the Village was about 25 minutes.
The condo is modern and well laid out. The bedrooms are large and we found the beds comfortable.
The surfaces and bathrooms were clean, but the upholstery and carpet downstairs is in need of cleaning. Also the condition of the kitchen items could use some attention. But that said, we'd definitely stay again.
Oh and another reviewer mentioned a mouse sighting. We saw it too--its cute, and not one you need to be concerned about. :)

Pretty cool spot on Gore Creek. Bus system into town is easy, ride home takes a little longer, roughly 30 minutes. We rented bikes to go back and forth with ease, although I would recommend the e bike as the trip to vail from the unit is tough with standard peddle or a tow cart for wee ones.
The property management company needs to do some work on the unit. While we were there, the upstairs bathroom drain did not work, multiple outlets did not seem to function and two did not have face plates. The downstairs shower door handle was not attached. These are pretty minor things, but all together makes the unit and the management company appear sloppy.
Overall, not a bad spot for the price as long as you're willing to be patient riding the bus or splurge for ebike rentals.
Mark P.Aug 2017
Great two bedroom condo in West Vail. Minutes from Vail Village. Lots of summer activities including river rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking. Grocery store is minutes away.
Chris K.Aug 2017
Excellent accomodations. We are a family of 5 and the condo was a great fit for us.
Carri W.Jul 2017
There was a mouse in the house, but other than that were thrilled with the Vacasa.
This is the first we've heard of a mouse in this home; the property manager will keep an eye out!
William T.Jul 2017
Clean. Secure. Sounds of the running water from the creek in the background was a pleasant surprise.
Patricia L.Jun 2017
Loved the river in the backyard. Very nice, updated kitchen and bathrooms. Wonderful mudroom/laundry room. Great location.
Pahnit P.Jun 2017
Beautiful bike ride to Lionshead and Vail with a shuttle bus right by the house. It is also close to a Safeway store to get all your needs to make your vacation feel at home. The creek is a stone throw away and it is very relaxing to hear it. You will love that area.
Jessica K.Jun 2017
This little home was so beautiful, clean, and in a great location! About 7 mins from the Vail/Lionshead Village (town center with restaurants, shops, rentals, etc.) and 5 mins from the grocery store! A little creek in back and a nice deck to sit outside and enjoy coffee or a meal. Definitely recommend this home for anyone, family or couples, looking for a get away. Super relaxing, didn't want to leave!
Ross L.May 2017
Enjoyed our stay. River view was great. Easy access to grocery and Gore Valley trail.
Brion R.Apr 2017
Great location. Quiet. Vail bus service runs every half hour at bus stop just outside front door.
Darci C.Apr 2017
Great location, price & communication with staff. Oldest loved the loft, bathrooms and bedrooms worked well with 4 kids.
Kitchen, updates and laundry room were huge benefits.
Grocery not far was a big plus too.
Carrie B.Mar 2017
This home was beautifully decorated and very conflrtable! Would go back!
Crystal T.Feb 2017
Our trip to Vail was a Christmas gift and this townhome was a great choice for the cost. We had two couples and there was plenty of space! We made a quick meal the first night but suggest the owner to purchase a new set or pots and pans soon. The bus stop is right in front of the condo which is so great since it was our first time to Vail. We were the second to last stop there and second stop back to the condo. Pictures accurately reflect the townhome and has had some awesome renovations and upgrades. Also right on the river!
Damien H.Feb 2017
A wonderful property that 'made' our trip. Fantastic location and everything is exactly how the images and past reviews portray. Resort shuttle or bus services are at your doorstep, literally. If you're here to ski then you'll love the mud room and laundry. All told, this was a spacious, clean and really, really comfortable home away from home - for all of us (two couples and one year old infant). Just remember to stock up on wood if you want to enjoy a crackling fire at days-end.
Debra B.Jan 2017
Nice town home loved storage and hooks. Clean
Pamela B.Dec 2016
A very short walk to the bus stop and surrounding area. We arrived, parked our car and didn't move it until we left. Love the ease of the free public transportation.
Raysa M.Dec 2016
The house is well appointed. Grocery stores right across the high way. Gorgeous creek in the background. My husband and I lived the washer and dryer in the unit as well as the fully equipped kitchen. Vail village bus picks you up and drops you off steps away from the door. Only thing we didn't like was that there were no televisions in the bedrooms. We will definitely rent this home again.
Kevin W.Dec 2016
Stayed at this property for a ski weekend and it was comfortable, clean, great location and easy to find. Size of property is good for 4 people and location made it easy to get on the slopes. No complaints, and the only thing that could have been better is a later check-out time. Would rent again.
Ryan M.Dec 2016
This place has one of the closest shuttles known to man in order to get to the mountain. The house itself if beautiful and has everything you need, can sleep plenty and is really just comfortable.
I would highly recommend this place for a group of friends or family looking to ski for the week/weekend.
Michele S.Oct 2016
We loved this place. We have two little kids and we were there in the fall. They loved walking out to the creek every day. It was very close to the recreational path as well for biking. The decor was amazing. The only negative was being pretty close to I70, so you could hear the cars when you were outside.
Phillip W.Sep 2016
My wife and I stayed here in September 2016. Ground level end unit that backs up to Gore Creek. Good privacy from road and interstate across the creek. Some slight and occasional interstate noise with the back doors open, but mostly the sounds of Gore Creek. Very pleasant and slept with the doors and windows open at night. Quiet property in West Vail about 1/4 mile towards Vail Village from Exit 173. Several year-round friendly residents in complex. Short drive or shuttle to Vail Village. Grocery and gas nearby. One bath up and one down, so both bedrooms share the upstairs bath. Would accommodate family with kids well or two close couples. Nicely appointed with towels, w/d, full kitchen, big mud room, comfortable sofas and big screen downstairs. Well kept and clean. No a/c but was plenty cool at night if you leave the windows open all day. We would stay here again. It was very nice and had no problems.
Denise P.Sep 2016
Clean and nicely decorated unit. Very close to grocery and liquor stores. Easy access to Vail Village. Summer free parking at Vail Village is nice. Located in a mixed rental and residential complex. Quiet location. Running creek out back is nice but often noise from highway is annoying. Very relaxing living room with wood fireplace
Amy G.Aug 2016
We truly enjoyed our stay at the property. They did a wonderful job with the decor and the location was convenient to grocery shopping and an easy drive or shuttle to Lionshead and Vail Village.
Judy H.Aug 2016
We LOVED this home. The location is PERFECT and the home is absolutely beautiful. The home decor is spectacular with specific attention to every detail. My friends and I spent a weekend here and enjoyed every minute. It is directly on the free Vail bus line (right out the door) and perfectly situated on the creek. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and evenings in the spacious living area. It was immaculately clean and cared for which is reflected in the design details. I cannot thank the owner's enough for such a wonderful stay. As a fellow second home owner myself, they scored a home run on this property! We will hopefully stay again very soon. Cheers.
: Lidia B.Jul 2016
Overall, this is an excellent location for a quiet stay in West Vail! With some minor improvements, this property is exactly as shown in the pictures. The best part about this property is the quiet location with the convenience of the free shuttle to all Vail has to offer!
Audrey D.Jun 2016
This was a beautiful and relaxing escape from the conference I attended. Very close to Vail Village and all that it had to offer. I look forward to bring my family next time.
Heather F.Apr 2016
This is a wonderful place to stay, but it's not located where it's advertised. You have to drive to Vail Village. The map on vrbo.com shows it incorrectly as being right in the middle of Vail Village. Bring your own hair dryer since the one at the condo is super old. Lacking in nonstick pans as well.
Ursula G.Feb 2016
Everything was great! We really enjoy our stay and the place was so comfy.
Mary S.Feb 2016
Clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Carroll D.Jan 2016
this condo was in a perfect location. the creek behind the home was just beautiful in the snow. all the appliances worked well and the mud room/ laundry room was so perfect for taking off wet ski gear. everything about checking in went very smooth. the hot tub was great after skiing all day. the ski shuttle picked up about 25 yds. from the home!
Emily W.Jan 2016
The town home was perfect for the 3 of us over a long weekend. Nicely decorated and very clean with comfy beds. Town bus was easy to use with the stop right out the front door. Washer/dryer was a great plus. We would definitely stay here again.
Bob O.Dec 2015
We had a terrific family vacation at Ptarmigan. The kids and I could take the shuttle to ski, and my wife could explore in the car. Fantastic skiing in November, lots of terrain, uncrowded, and good snow.
Great service from Gordon, very clean home.
Greg P.Nov 2015
I stayed here with a colleague for two nights while attending a meeting. The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything you would need for a longer stay. The rental agency was outstanding with their communication and I received all information about our stay in a timely manner. Considering how nice and well furnished this condo is for Vail, the price was very reasonable and I would recommend staying here versus a hotel.
Barbara B.Sep 2015
My husband and I stayed at this property for four nights in September 2015. The property is located outside of lions head next to the creek. Beautiful view of the creek. The property is a little close to I-70, so you can hear traffic going by. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to consider ear plugs or a fan. There is one television in the unit, so nothing in the bedrooms if that is important to you. The property is nicely furnished and very roomy. The property was fairly clean, but could have used some clean up around the fireplace/sliding glass door area where there was bugs and cobwebs, etc. There is a very nice laundry room, big dining table and two bathrooms - each with a shower or shower/tub combo. We had some difficulty getting into the unit via the key punch entry, so make sure you ask for specific and detailed instructions if you are not used to this type of lock. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need. The property is located near a couple of grocery stores and a liquor store as well as a gas station. Overall, we had a nice stay.
Michelle D.Jul 2015
This home is perfectly decorated with style and warmth. It has a wonderful feel when you come in the front door. I love the view of the creek and the corner unit is very spacious. We wanted to stay longer!!!
Sean M.Jul 2015
The pictures from the inside of the unit are exactly what you get. Very nicely done updated unit. The outside picture don't do it justice. You are right on Gore Creek and can hear it rushing right by the unit. Amazing location very close to Vail Village along a nice biking/walking path. Supermarket and some ok restaurants very nearby. Pool is heated and clean. My family really enjoyed our stay here in the summer.
