Cozy, waterfront cottage on the shores of Lake Champlain - dogs welcome!

Take a well-deserved retreat to this adorable Isle La Motte home. The two-bedroom Vermont cottage is right on Lake Champlain on a quiet cul-de-sac and features a wood-burning stove, charcoal grill, deck, and amazing views.

With the lake shore just 20 feet away, you'll want to spend every spare moment wandering the beach in search of fossils, or admiring it from your Adirondack chairs or sliding glass door. However, you'll also feel compelled to explore quaint nearby attractions. You can walk or drive about three miles across Isle La Motte to Saint Anne's Shrine, a serene 13-acre historical site that also has a cafe offering brunch.

This lakeside cottage is a truly terrific retreat for a small family or four friends vacationing together. Stocked with Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, and plenty of relaxing seating, this home is made for the laid-back traveler. Read each other trivia while sipping refreshing ice wines in the tastefully updated family room. Savor a classic flick on the cable-equipped TV as you unwind.

Bring a pack of cards and play at the expandable card table in the sunroom that's smartly decorated with a modern-rustic look and lined with lake-facing windows.

In the charming kitchen you'll have all the tools and appliances needed (many stored behind the gorgeous wood cabinets) to fix family-style meals on those evenings you feel like staying in.

Both bedrooms are easily accessed in this single-level home. In one, you'll have a cozy queen-size bed facing sliding glass doors with total lake views. Whoever nabs this room will be lucky! In the second bedroom you'll have two twin beds - great for children, two friends, or sweethearts who might want to sneak a snuggle in one bed.

While this home accommodates up to four adults, two additional children (for a maximum occupancy of six), will be comfortable since there's a pull-out sofa. The bathroom contains a walk-in shower, but there's also a simple outdoor shower for after a post-lake swim.

Outside of this rustic, but well-maintained lake cottage there are lots of trees and open green space for children to play around. Cook up hot dogs or toast marshmallows over the smoldering coals of the grill as you watch fireflies twinkle at dusk.

In North Hero town, pay a stop at Hero's Welcome, a Vermont goods-based shop. Just nine miles away is North Hero State Park where you can spot white-tail deer and ruffled grouse.

Perhaps one day you could get coffee and toast before taking a three-mile walk across the island to brunch at Saint Anne's Shrine. Or, you could hop in the car and drive over to North Hero town to stock up on local cheeses. You don't really need to hold to a plan - you're on vacation!

Day trips are easy too, with South Hero just 24 miles away and Vermont's biggest city, Burlington, about 45 miles away. The Islands are a popular destination for avid cyclists so grab your bike and go!

Gather your favorite travel buddies for a stay at this Lake Champlain Islands vacation cottage! Up to two family dogs are also welcome here for a small nightly fee.

*Please note that this house draws its water from the lake. We advise bringing bottled water.

Beautiful sunrises, great location!

Right on the water! Beautiful walking all around and scenery. We had some high winds, but everything thing else was perfect! Very comfortable bed. Will look forward to returning!

Any negative review doesn’t understand this is a rural Vermont camp, not a five star resort! If you understand those expectations, you won’t be disappointed! It Is such a relaxing place to spend time by the water (or ON the water with the canoe provided), biking the island, or playing games with family. This is the quintessential Vermont experience. 💕

Very nice home on the lake, house was equipped with everything one would need for a weekend away. Bedroom facing the lake was wonderful, overall very happy with my choice to stay here.

Stayed there with my 2 adult daughters, and it was great. Pretty much what I expected. Definitely rustic, and the bathroom and shower are very small, but it has all of the basic needs. Privacy, peace and quiet, great spot on the lake without a lot of water traffic. I would stay there again.

My three young kids and I like to road trip to new places each summer. This house was perfect for us. The view is amazing. The sound of the waves rocked us to sleep each night. The sunrise was like seeing a new painting each morning. We walked the shoreline and collected pebbles and sea glass. It doesn't get any more relaxing than this! Bring a float and let all your troubles float away. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, relaxing stay. The drive through the islands is fun. We did the pretty drive to Burlington twice.

The island is so serene, and the cottage is right on the water with its own little beach. We were really impressed with the support from Vacasa, too.

We spent the weekend in the cabin and enjoyed it's cozy rustic interior (as other reviews said, it could use some upkeep, but it does have the proper cabin feel to it), and loves the big shady lawn outside, the bbq and swimming in the lake. A lovely weekend getaway.

This is a classic cottage on the lake, you couldn't be closer. The experience of sitting on the porch and enjoying the view is priceless. I liked that it is on such an quiet street too. The bedroom with the double bed is bright and cheerful. You can see the lake right from bed. Being in this cottage brought me back to my youth when I used to stay at my grandparents' camp. A true Vermont experience!

My wife, ten month-old son and I absolutely loved this cabin in Isle La Motte. We had the most perfect three days of weather . Waking with the sunrise over the lake shining in through the bedroom sliding glass door was wonderful. Relaxing with a fire in the fire-pit on the rocky shore of the lake in the moonlight was even better. We made use of the charcoal grill each night and sat in the adirondack chairs watching the boats and birds on the lake during the day. We took walks along the shore road and my son loved all the horses we saw. Truly a cozy little slice of heaven in a serene setting which meshes farm living and waterfront fun.

This is a great place! Serene, beautiful sights and perfect for a small family.

We stayed for four nights. The property was ok, you can tell it used to be well loved but needs TLC. The beds were not great, the linens old and scratchy, not enough towels. The beach access was very sketchy and the outdoor table benches are broken, the beach chairs were gross and old. For the cost it was very disappointing, if it was less expensive we would be ok with the lack of attention and care for the home.
Manager response:
New linens will be placed in the home soon, and the Property Manager will inspect the state of the outdoor furniture.

I loved the cabin and area. There was too many trees and shade....which then led to a lot of bugs. No area to get sun unless you go down to rocky beach...and that was hard with chairs.
