We had a nice time at the Bluebird house. Great to go for hikes.
If you like to cook, it is not super well stocked, so you may want to bring your own cooking utensils.
It was a good size to have two families for 4 days and it has a wonderful deck where the kids spent a long time.

We had a nice stay. It was so convenient to Calaveras Big Trees. Spacious and comfy.

Well stocked and had plenty of comfortable furniture both inside and out on the deck.

This is a great central location to visit Calaveras Big Trees, Alpine Lake, and explore the wineries in Murphys. The deck is great for dining and the quiet neighborhood is perfect for relaxing and listening to the chickarees and birds. Lovely decor, a great kitchen set up and even a fun horseshoe game. There is also a well stocked DVD selection and a book library. We had a very relaxing stay and very much appreciated that we could bring our dogs!

This is exactly what we needed to escape the chaos of 2020. The Bluebird House was cozy and comfortable, close to many hiking trails and attractions, but secluded for some peace and quiet. We had a great time. Can't wait to get back there.

Bluebird House has become a tradition and it's a great place to relax and just enjoy the fresh air and peaceful surroundings. The house, the deck, the amenities, and the neighborhood are all just perfect for our purposes. The owners are very hospitable and accommodating.

We loved the large outdoor deck with plenty of chairs and a gate so that our dog could safely be outdoors and not run off. Spent a fair amount of time there listening to the birds and the wind blowing through the trees. So relaxing. We even saw a fox run through the neighbor's yard.

It was great having the tv in a separate room for the kids to watch their shows. It felt like there was plenty of room to spread out. Seating was comfortable all around except the dining chairs, which felt very wobbly and could have used a tightening. Also, it would have been useful to have a note posted somewhere, that garbage day was on Mondays.

The kitchen was best for one person to work in due to space limitation. We found most things we needed already stocked, but a larger cutting board would have been nice to have. We stayed there 9 nights and ran out of paper towels and had to get our own. We didn't bother trying to contact Vacasa for them, since their hold times are hours long and didn't want to waste precious vacation time. Would have liked to have had all paper products better stocked for longer visits since toilet paper ran dangerously low and there was no facial tissue to be found either. We also got down to our last garbage bag and would have appreciated a larger supply for our longer stay. The stove burner elements were also wobbly and didn't appear to fit quite right causing some pan/pot leaning.

Unfortunately, the beds were very hard for all of us. My husband had the most difficult time and found his way to the couch several nights since the downstairs bed was so uncomfortable. The downstairs bathroom sink close to the kitchen was very clogged and hardly drained at all. Spent way more time than I would have liked waiting for toothpaste water to drain and to rinse out the sink repeatedly. They did provide some small toiletries, but didn't try since we had our own.

Overall the space felt clean and mostly taken care, but could have used a few maintenance things addressed plus new mattresses.

Recommend taking a walk down to the small lake, which was quite beautiful.
