Beach, shared pool, & tennis court access at this deluxe, waterfront condo!
If you're seeking a casual getaway with resort-style amenities, look no further than this Galveston vacation rental. A private beach, shared swimming pool, and two tennis courts all combine to make a memorable vacation for family and friends. Sensible and spacious, this home is actually three efficiency condos combined into one deluxe rental, giving guests plenty of space to spread out. The tasteful furnishings and beachy decor come to life with the natural light streaming in through the balcony windows. The main living space has gorgeous views of the Gulf, which you can enjoy from inside on the sofa, or outside on well-cushioned patio furniture. This home keeps it simple with cable and WiFi, making this a great rental for family time without losing touch with the real world.
What's nearby: A path including a dune walkover leads to a private stretch of white sand. This beach is much quieter than any of the public beaches in Galveston, making it a lovely retreat for suntanning, reading under an umbrella, or playing with the kiddies. Many of Galveston's historic attractions are just a bike ride or short drive away! Within three miles of this rental, find the Strand, a tourist hot spot for points of interest, galleries, and dining. Take a walking tour of the East End to admire preserved historic architecture. Enjoy a day of fun at the Pleasure Pier with carnival rides and fare, just right for the kids (and young at heart). Feel like a theme park? Drive eight miles down island for a visit to Moody Gardens - with a golf course and an IMAX theater - or the Schlitterbahn Waterpark for thrilling water slides!

Front desk people were helpful. It's old and cluttered. There aren't a lot of cooking sheets or pans. The furniture is uncomfortable. No rug or broom. It's alright.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, Casey. We are sorry to hear you did not find the home's features and furnishings more comfortable and accommodating. We hope to host you for an exceptional stay in the future.

no space to relax, small bathrooms, difficult to open freezer, small balconies, most of the storage spaces blocked/locked by the owners

Great place! Close to EVERYTHING!! We loved our stay.
Bring a broom and some cleaning rags if you are like us and have kiddos. They didn't have anything to manage kids spills.

Some friends and I were in Galveston for another friend's wedding. We're all from Houston, but it was way easier to just get a place closer to the venue instead of dealing with driving back after the wedding. And this was the perfect place for us! There was enough space for all of us, and it was right on the beach. The front desk was super helpful, and there were no loud noises or issues with neighbors. The windows literally looked right out onto the gulf, and it was amazing waking up to that view! It's also only about 5/10 mins from the Strand, which is great for shopping!

Kids had a good time doing stuff around town. Great location away from the busy areas. Close enough to get where you want to go easily. You will have to use a coin operated laundry facility in a separate common area. That sucks and takes time away from your vacation. Room was bad. Dated uncomfortable and dirty.

A great condo for our large family. Plenty of room for 6 children and 3 adults. Best part was having coffee every morning on the balcony watching the sunrise.

The house was big it fit all of our guests however it is outdated. The beds make noise, the fans were horrible and the closets were closed. The location is great and the beach fabulous they just need to update the furniture, remove the nasty sitting stool in the main room and provide trash bags and it will be good.

Comfortable beds and furnishings-- everything we needed for two week getaway from cold of Indiana winter in late Jan-Feb. Watched the sun come up over the ocean every morning while laying in bed. Delightful sunrise and sunsets from 2 balconies on both sides of the building--4 in all. Great reading spots. Each of the 4 rooms has heat/AC unit for individual temp. control. Islander Staff couldn't have been nicer. Secure gated facility--although this is a very nice neighborhood of beach properties, but many open areas. The many walks on the beach almost daily is why we came. Quiet and private. Bishop's Palace and Moody Mansion were great tours. Historic District was great to walk around in and see the Victorian Homes decked out for Mardi Gras later in Feb. Elisa ship tour and museums were interesting. Went to the Black Pearl for lunch 5 times for their daily specials. Antique shops and many other nice restaurants.

At this property, it is only a short walk to the ocean. You don't have to cross a busy road. This section of the beach is very private. In this condo because of the odd layout, the bedrooms are a good distance from the living area. This is great for putting children to bed early, or adults who go to bed earlier are not disturbed from the guests still in the living room. Very quiet. Nice shelving/cubby holes at the entrance for storing shoes, etc. Plenty of toilet paper was provided for our 3 day stay.

Excellent place to stay. beach is right there.
Glencora R.Jul 2016
The property is nice and well kept. The pool, room furnishings, and desk staff are definitely lacking. We were treated as somewhat second rate because we were renting from the actual owners of the condo. They obviously treat owners differently than vacation renters.

We loved the location of this property and the property itself. The view was gorgeous, loved the balconies. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely go back.

This unit is perfect, it has 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a nice living/kitchen area. Everything was very comfortable, clean, and mostly in working order. It is a true place to get away, unplug and enjoy Galveston from one of the best locations for sunsets and sunrises.

it's an okay place to stay
Jonathan K.Apr 2016
We have always stayed on the west end of Galveston or on the seawall, but from now on, we will look at the east end first. This rental is just a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the vital parts of Galveston. Plus, we did not fight with the seawall traffic!
Patti L.Apr 2016
Islander East's location is fantastic. Near enough to downtown and Seawall Blvd without being crowded. Love the closeness of the beach. Easy to beach walk every day.
Paul B.Apr 2016
Islander East was a great place to stay. Property was very clean and well maintained for being an older complex. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. The unit we stayed in was very dated and had some odor issues. There was no closet space available for us to hang any of our clothes.
We are very pleased that you had a great stay with us at Vacasa! In regards to the odor you mentioned, we are sending our local property manager to address the issue. We hope you choose Vacasa again for your next vacation.
