Renovated home with gourmet kitchen in the Green Mountains

Bucolic beauty and true comfort await in this lovely, renovated Dorset vacation rental. With the Green Mountains as a backdrop and expansive grounds at your feet, your family will relax and unwind for a truly memorable Vermont vacation.

Situated in lovely Dorset, a charming town about 42 miles from Dover, this home has a private, rustic setting on a dirt road, set amid white birch trees and a flower garden. The Green Mountains can be viewed from various vantage points in this home, and you're not far from the downhill action. Stratton Mountain Resort is only 26 miles away, and Okemo Mountain Resort is just 34 miles east. You're also only a few moments from premier New England ski resorts like Mt. Snow and Bromley Mountain! Please note that you may need AWD or snow tires to access this property during snow season.

"Mountain Tranquility" befits its name. You will find peace and solitude the minute you spy the colorful exterior of this two-story manse. The living room is eminently inviting. Relax on the cream couch or matching armchairs, set by an antique wood fireplace (wood is provided), flatscreen TV with a Roku and Hulu screening via the WiFi, and a luxurious Persian rug. French doors bring in a lot of natural light and offer an enticing view of the landscaped grounds - you may even see some local wildlife!

The hardwood floors extend into the formal dining room. An eight-seat dining room table and antique wood stove dominate the space, and floor-to-ceiling multi-paned doors lead out onto a lovely deck with a charcoal grill for cooking under the stars.

A gourmet kitchen, with all the necessary accoutrements to craft a savory meal, awaits your pleasure and culinary expertise. A three-seat breakfast bar under pendant lighting is the choice spot for a buffet meal. The tiled countertops offer plenty of spots for meal prep, and the built-in four-burner gas stove is perfectly placed so you're not knocking over pots and pans. Two ovens allow one to make main courses and desserts simultaneously, and a dishwasher and fridge round out the appliances.

Head up one flight to the three bedrooms, which make this home ideal for up to eight guests (six adults max, please). The landing showcases another Persian rug, and two full baths, one with a clawfoot tub, are nearby as well. The master bedroom features a lovely king bed, carpeted floors, bright orange walls, and French doors leading to a balcony affording gorgeous mountain views. The second bedroom offers a full bed in a white frame, and the colorful third bedroom has two twin bunk beds side by side for late-night reminiscing.

You get a washer and dryer, free WiFi (though the WiFi is spotty), a DVD player, and a cozy patio for outdoor entertaining.

Dorset, Manchester, and the area around it offer a wealth of activities, from hiking in spring and summer to different activities fall and winter. Head into town to savor some local pie or a cappuccino after a day of sightseeing or hiking the Green Mountains. The area is home to a variety of ski resorts, offering trails for downhillers of every ability. You can also snowshoe and cross-country ski during the winter.

Tranquility and a sense of peace await at this spacious and luxurious Vermont rental cottage. Book it today!

This house was a lovely spot to spend the holidays. Hopefully the mattresses in the children’s room will be replaced with more comfortable ones, but the other beds were heavenly. The home is in great condition and well-maintained. Very family friendly!

Enjoyed the beauty, peace and quiet in this remote setting.

Beautiful home with large rooms and bright windows. The open floor plan means that you can prepare food and entertain at the same time. Nicely furnished rooms with comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our stay here.

We enjoyed the quiet peaceful area.

Lovely home. Immaculate. Needs better kitchen supplies. Fantastic fireplace. Nice layout. Pretty furnishings. Would definitely return. Wish wifi was better but it worked somewhat. Need better pillows that don't crackle when you put your head on them. Excellent bath towels, abundant amount and very soft. Great hot water.

We enjoyed during winter vacation in this property which was a full updated beautiful home. Everything's very good for our winter vacation.
The property was no service area for phone call, but Wi-Fi was fine.
Home phone was not working at that time.
However we had no problem!!!!! ^*^
There was perfect for our 2 families of 8.

P.S It takes around 40 minutes to Stratton Mountain.

We loved our stay at this place, house was beautiful. Internet wifi was great. I wish the phone device worked but we were able to use the land line which worked fine. Pretty well equipped kitchen to cook and entertain. Thank you.

If you want to disconnect from electronic communication and be where no one can reach you, this will do the trick.

location is up a long dirt road which we enjoyed and property has a great lawn in front and a nice view. as mentioned by vacasa, it may be an issue accessing in winter without 4wd.

the house and furnishings are all very nice. the washing machine is a little quirky so more instructions on that would be helpful.

my only real issue is that it should not be advertised as having wifi - i know you say the wifi is 'spotty' but it never worked once for us while we were there.

really nice and well equipped kitchen - really enjoyed cooking in it.

This beautiful home worked really well as mission control for our recent family reunion. There is a large, modern kitchen and a large adjacent dining area. We got 8 people around the table, and another 3 at stools at the breakfast bar. Large lawn. Breath-taking views. Convenient to Dorset and Manchester but enough out of the way to be completely quiet and away from traffic.

We enjoyed ourselves here. In winter would be difficult getting there due to steep roads. It is off a dirt road, but very close to Dorset. Internet was very spotty and didn't work for long periods of time. Yet overall we were very pleased.

Wanted a quiet scenic secluded vacation with family. Found it here fireplace was nice.

We enjoyed our stay, the house has lots of room and is nice and clean. I think its important to note, because its not listed in the house description, that there is no cable and the Wifi is extremely spotty. The kitchen was sparse so bring everything you need! Location is great and Dorset is the cutest town!

This 3 bedroom home had a beautiful kitchen, updated furnishings and a warm cozy feeling among its ample space. There was privacy for each of the kids in their own rooms yet a great central room to gather for a movie and to "roast mini marshmallows on large sticks" in the fire. A quick ride to Bromley Mountain was perfect for our family of 5.
