Huge Northstar home with shared pool, hot tub, and NPOA access

Eighteenth Fairway Northstar Mountain Retreat is a spacious and spectacular Truckee vacation rental for the whole family. Located right on the 18th fairway of the Northstar golf course, this home also offers guests access to the Northstar Property Owners Association recreation center, you'll be within two miles from the popular resort, and yet have the privacy of a family home (with its own game room) - this lodge has it all!

When you're not relaxing at your home away from home, you'll likely be out enjoying all that the immediate area has to offer. Use the provided guest passes to access the exclusive NPOA recreation facility, which has a game room, fitness center, pool, and hot tub (you'll be thankful for that after a day on the slopes). Throughout the resort itself, you'll have golf, tennis, bike rentals, horseback riding, and in winter of course, premier skiing. Spas, shopping, and eateries abound as well. Better yet, there's a shuttle to take you all around the resort, including the NPOA.

Back at your four-bedroom Tahoe lodge, you'll have a cozy but roomy space to make memories. This uniquely laid out home will make it stand out for you so that you’ll want to book it over and over.

Sink into the cushy couches in the living room before the wood-burning fireplace with its impressive stone hearth. All the modern entertainment options you could want, like a sound dock, Netflix streaming, and more, are available. Just behind the living room couches sits a convenient wet bar with a curved seating nook.

In the fully stocked kitchen, you'll not only have the necessities for a fabulous family meal any time of day, you'll have little perks like a waffle iron, blender, and dishwasher. Share breakfast around the booth-style table and then dinner at the sprawling dining table. In warmer months, cook out on the gas grill!

Have a full house of 12 guests? Everyone will be accommodated here! Three of the beds are king-size, one of which is a gorgeous log bed with rustic-chic linens. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom. A second room has two sets of bunk beds for siblings and cousins to enjoy. Also, you'll have a sofa sleeper and a trundle bed (two more twins). Five-and-a-half bathrooms will keep everyone happy.

In the home's own game room, play pool before a huge picture window and glass doors to the deck. A vintage Pac-Man arcade game will entertain everyone for hours.

Beyond the great amenities at Northstar, you'll be only eight miles to Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe. Nearby that is Crystal Bay just over the state line for a grown-ups-only night out. Take a scenic drive along the lake and visit Carnelian Bay to view their antique wooden boats and grab a bite at Gar Woods Grill and Pier. Wherever you explore, you'll have a great time!

Room for 12, a game room, access to some of the best amenities in the area...this North Lake Tahoe vacation lodge has it all!

This property worked so well with our group. Each room has a private bath plus an extra bath downstairs and a powder room upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and the view is great!

Very welcoming. Only negative would be only one roll of paper towels and small garbage bags.

This is a good house for a large group we liked the two separate open areas. the adults were able to have a quiet discussion while the younger generation was enjoying the game room with pool table downstairs
6 bathrooms was a plus also each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom which was very nice. the bus service was outstanding we never moved our cars the whole time we were there the bus was there every time in less than 5 min and often in 2 min or so . very open space with well stocked kitchen . you can cook pretty much anything you can think of there and the pots and pans were enough for large dishes . the only drawback would be if you wanted to watch a lot of tv or movies as there was only one modern flat screen at the place and the other tv were really old . we will come back here next year for sure

This home was very comfortable for our stay. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is plenty of space to spread out. As others have mentioned, some of the bathrooms could use updating, but otherwise it was great and easy access to the ski slopes via the shuttle

Our group of 8 loved this house. Plenty of room for all, including dinner guests. The bunk bed room was perfect for our group of kids, and each couple was afforded their own en suite bathroom.

I would definitely recommend this place to others - and likely will stay here again!

We've been renting through Vacasa for a long time and this is for sure one of the best properties we came across do far!

The house is very spacious and can fits large groups comfortably. We enjoyed the sauna (important to mention it is very small), the rooms and the fact all of them have their own bathrooms.

Looking forward to stay there again!

We had lots of room to spread out and had so much fun celebrating with friends while there for a wedding weekend!

We absolutely loved this house! This place could accommodate 2-3 families if need be. This spacious home had comfortable furniture, beds and the Pool table and Pac Man game were so much fun! Highly recommend and I would stay here again!

Great space for three families. A few updates would be nice.
Linh D. Apr 2017
The house has an open concept and plenty of room for 2 families. The kids loved playing PAC MAN.

The mud room is a nice size to get ready and come home from a day of skiing and leaving your gear.

This is a big house with a modern feel upstairs. The kitchen and living room area are open and expansive. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The bedrooms are normal size downstairs, a little dark but not too bad. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Everything was very clean. The air system was efficient and not dry or stuffy at all. The house has more bathrooms than any group would ever need, and we never ran out of hot water. The house was a great base for our Northstar ski weekend.

The fireplace and other appliances worked well. The upstairs TV is nice and has an HDMI cable, which you can plug into your laptop (may need an adapter). The electronics otherwise are dated. The stereo system, which appears to run throughout the whole house, is super old. I think you’d need to get your device to output to RCA-type jacks if you wanted to use that. There are old hospital-style TV-DVD-combo machines mounted to the ceiling in the bedrooms, so If you want to set the kids up downstairs with a movie, you'd need a DVD or a way to connect your computer to one of these old machines. The pool table and PacMan game downstairs are a plus and provide additional entertainment.

We had an issue with a water puddle that we called about and no one came to fix, but that is on Vacasa, the local property managers and housekeepers, and not an issue with the house itself. I'll also note that while the house is huge, the number of bedrooms really limits you to three families. There is really not room for four families.

Overall, the house was great. We would stay there again.
Manager Response:
We apologize we were late addressing the puddle due to an error in the Property Manager receiving this guest's message. A plumber will have the problem taken care of very shortly.

Great place for a family or multiple families to enjoy vacation. Kids can be any age and adults tend to feel like kids once they are here.

This house fits our needs for having a big group. The house is very spacious and comfortable as it has two floors, 6 bathrooms, and great big windows. Also the shuttle was very helpful, the rec center and village is very family friendly.

We had a lovely stay with our book club. Plenty of space to hang out playing games or just relax. The home was comfortable with extra bedding and towels. Plenty of seating as well.
Jaime T. Jul 2016
The house is perfect for large groups and multiple families with kids. We enjoyed the open layout of the kitchen area and the game room downstairs. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful house in quiet neighbourhood. Shuttle free and constantly available. Great rooms and common areas
Jason P. Jun 2016
The house and location far exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, everything we needed for a weekend was inside, and a great place to stay.
Diane R. Jun 2016
Amazing house to stay with family and friends! The house is spacious enough to easily accommodate a two families of 3 children each and has everything you need. The lower living room/game room is a perfect place for the kids to hang out! The bedrooms with private bath offer the privacy needed and the bunk bed room is perfect to house a group of kids. Kitchen is spacious and the dining table and 'bar area' makes eating as group easy. The pool area at the North Star Resort is just a short drive from the house. Definitely a great place to spend a summer weekend -looking forward to returning in the near future!

I took my entire family on this spring ski trip as a Christmas gift.
2 married couples, 2 single women, 2 teenage boy and 3 little girls.
The house set up very nicely for us all to visit while cooking and sleeping was great. Lots of bathrooms made it easy to get to the slops in AM. Bus services wonderful !

We loved the pool table, the vintage Pac Man arcade style game, the dry sauna, and the one steam shower that was working! It's also great that there's a TV in every room and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The upstairs/downstairs helps give people some space, especially if they want to play downstairs. There is plenty of seating on the first floor to fit everyone and the huge couch is great. Good views and a well stocked kitchen. The free shuttles are a huge plus for Northstar. It's one of the reasons we keep renting there. The convenience is key.

Upon arrival, we found that our cabin was not ready at 4pm...the cleaning crew arrived at 4pm and said that it would be roughly an hour and a half before they would be done. We could not unpack and settle in and instead had to leave the cabin and look for somewhere to go. We ended up going to Seven Eleven and to the grocery store to kill time. They did give me a $50 credit, but it still didn't completely make up for it. I was also a little disgusted that the blankets were not washed and was informed that it's not regular procedure to wash the blankets between rentals. The idea of someone using it right before me without being cleaned grossed me out. We ended up not using the blankets.

Other than those things, the cabin is beautiful. Everyone was really happy with how spacious it was and really felt cozy at the same time. Bathrooms had heated floors, there were board games for the kids, and the guys really enjoyed the pool table and sauna. All in all, we got off to a rough start, but we really enjoyed our stay.
Manager Response:
Thank you for your review. We apologize that housekeeping was running behind on the day of your check-in. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the home once you were settled in!
Perry T. Jan 2016
The bus shuttle was great to get to the mtn. The house had a good flow, down stairs pool table was add feature for our party of guest. The rooms accommodated all our guest. Overall experience was a 10.
Rebecca C. Jan 2016
We had a fantastic time at this home! The only complaint we had was the home was not cleaned prior to our arrival. We arrived to a pile of towels, unmade beds and dirt on the counter tops. This was not a great start to the week. We had to call Vacasa and then head out while our home was cleaned at 5:30pm on a Monday night. This was a huge inconvenience when all we wanted to do was unpack and relax. When we arrived back at 9pm, the home was cleaned, but to our satisfaction. We found hair in the shower stalls downstairs and felt that the cleaning crew did a "rushed" job.

Aside from that, the home is wonderful. We loved the big great room on the 1st floor, kitchen and bar area. We also made great use of the sauna, pool table/ game room. We loved the Northface shuttle "front door service" pick up and drop off on the days we went skiing. Each bedroom has a full bathroom. There is plenty of room for multiple families and a really nice flow to the home.

Manager Response:
Thank you for your review. We apologize that the home had not been cleaned prior to your stay and can understand what a disappointment that would have been. We appreciate your patience as we did the best we could to get the home cleaned in a timely manner so you could begin to enjoy the home. We are glad to see that it worked out well for you once you were in!

We were not disappointed with our stay at this house- it has all the necessary amenities and more. The bedrooms were nicely spaced out , each with a full private bathroom. Plenty of room to relax and more! Ski bus/shuttle for easy ride to ski area. Just remember to bring your own hair dryer!
