Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our 5 year anniversary. We explored the PCT (which is literally out the front door) and unplugged for the weekend with board games and puzzles. Great little town with great food and beer. The house is absolutely perfect!

I loved that it was just right for us and I really liked cascade locks. Thanks.

I stayed two nights last weekend for the Bridge of the Goddess run, and then hiked around the gorge. Cute house, stayed in the king bed and it was super comfy. Clean, well organized and appointed (they even had coffee filters), nice bathroom and serviceable kitchen, huge washer and dryer, and backyard with a fire pit. Great location, walk to food, the river trail and PCT. Will stay here again.

Little house but cozy, it needs more dishes and cable. Does have a lot of movies on DVD

Great place to stay if visiting mt Hood and nearby waterfalls. Cozy small house that has everything you need. Just beware there is no wifi and AT&T reception is really poor, and sometimes the cellular network drops for hours, so better bring Verizon hotspot. Also the TV is not connected, but there is a DVD player with tons of dvd movies and also board games that will keep the kids entertained outside their smartphones :)

For what I wanted to do on this vacation... walk the PCT, this location was perfect!
Philippe Y.Jul 2019
A good old revamped cabin. Well located on the PCT's dry creek section. Cascade locks is a perfect base for exploring, and Thunder Island brewery is a plus.
CHRISTINA S.Apr 2019
Great location. Being close to the bridge of the gods, you are able to access so many trails by walking or a short drive. The cabin was warm and cozy and has everything you need for a weekend getaway.

We loved this little cottage on the PCT! Beautiful setting, well appointed, had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again. The area is full of activities, quaint towns and gorgeous scenery. A definite MUST do!
Evelyn D.Aug 2018
This was our 1st non-hotel experience and we LOVED it. Loved having the space and not having the family crammed into one room. Enjoyed having a full kitchen for meals. Great location.
Susan N.Aug 2018
We stayed at the Pacific Crest Trail House for four nights while touring this beautiful area! Close to everything along the gorge and just over an hour to Mount Hood. House was just as advertised, close to town (walkable), and about a block to the Pacific Crest Trail.
Christine F.Jul 2018
The location was amazing next to the Pacific Crest Trail. The accommodation felt very warm with amenities that made me feel at home.
Marilee J.Jul 2018
Perfect, Quiet spot right off the PCT and walking distance to the Columbia River

My groomsmen and I were very comfortable staying here during my wedding weekend - thanks for being so accommodating! Beautiful place, slept perfectly!

If trails had not been closed due to the fires.... would have been great
Courtney L.Oct 2017
The home was cute but very unclean! When we arrived we found mice droppings in several beds and on the floor. We also found two dead mice, several spiders, and lots of cobwebs.
Local staff have been alerted regarding the mice. They are common this time of year as the weather changes, and we will get right on making sure they are not present in the home. We will also follow-up with housekeeping regarding our cleaning standards. This guest was refunded their cleaning fee for the state of the home. Thank you!

Great Clean 2 Bedroom with great Kitchen. I'd stay again for sure. Thank you!
Ron M.Jul 2017
Cozy cabin close to everything with privacy and fire pit. We'll be back again.
Shirley Q.Jul 2017
The location was very nice. The supermarket was really close by and it was pretty close to many nice hiking trails and major attractions. The house was cozy and had all the necessaries. However, every night we heard mice scurrying around in the walls, and we found mouse drops everywhere. The smell in the house was also rather unpleasant. With some thorough cleanings, this house would be in much better shape than it was.
All exterior holes have been covered to prevent mice from entering, and mouse bait has been placed at the home. We apologize if they were a nuisance during this visit.

We weren't looking for fancy, just a place to sleep at night in between fishing and exploring. This place was perfect for our fishing trip. Enjoyed using the fire pit in the back yard for s'mores. Location was perfect - entrance to the PCT right around the corner, and walkable to town. Perfect place for the perfect price.
CHRISTINE S.Sep 2016
close to Pacific Coast trail. Smaller nice house. Close to Portland and Hood River. Allowed dogs.
Somer W.Sep 2016
Cute little place w a cabin feel. Just what we were looking for.
Judy P.Jul 2016
An old tiny house that's been upgraded to be livable. The house next door looks like what this place probably did several years ago before renovation. Quiet area except for the traffic truck noise of the highway, but since traffic abates at night, it wasn't bad sleeping. A thorough and good housecleaning would be a plus -- especially the floor around the toilet!
Access to the PCT is very convenient; access to "downtown" Cascade Locks was also convenient.
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, and will pass along your feedback regarding the bathroom's cleanliness so that this cabin can better serve our future guests. We hope to assist you with your vacation next year!

We came to the area to do several day hikes in the Gorge. The location was perfect for that. The home is older and not fancy, but very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Although one can hear the freeway noise, it was not bothersome. The home is located on a dead-end street backed up to the woods, so quite private. All in all....a very enjoyable weekend there.
Jeanne A.Jun 2016
Have been involved in biannual day hikes in the Gorge area with a walking club for several years, usually staying in hotels. Appreciated a place to have a kitchen and living room and LOVED the washer and dryer. Conveniently located within walking distance of everything in Cascade Locks, and to venues between the waterfalls and Hood River. Small but adequate.
April H.Apr 2016
I truly enjoyed our stay in Cascade locks. The area is beautiful. The house was perfect and in a great location. I ran the Gorge waterfall 50k and the first aid station was right there on the trails by the house.

We like to find small out of the way places to stay and adventure and it has been great using Vacasa, they have a great staff and are great to work with. It is wonderful to see how much Vacasa has grown and all the new rentals that are being added.
Susan S.Aug 2015
Great experience. I will definitely look to Vacasa for a future holiday stay.
Cynthia S.Aug 2015
The cottage has a very welcoming atmosphere and is very cute. It is well stocked with kitchen supplies. We were very happy to find coffee as we had forgotten ours. There were games, books and cd's which made us feel right at home. The location is close to town and the gorge but there is a bit of highway noise. I would love to come again & bring our dogs!
Ashlyn R.Jul 2015
This home has a quaint cabin feel to it. It is definitely not as nice as most of the rental homes in the area but if you just need a safe, cozy place to sleep then it's a great deal! You are supposed to be out exploring and adventuring the Gorge anyways, not inside! The master bedroom is the nicest part in the house. It has a king bed and is quiet and peaceful in the back of the house. Everything works great!
Anne H.Jul 2015
Overall pleasant place and affordable.
Tender B.Jun 2015
This is a nice, private, inexpensive place to stay in a great area. Beautiful section of The Pacific Crest Trail right out the door. The river is right there. Very nice. The cabin is comfy and clean and has everything you need for a good visit.
Ron M.Jun 2015
Will stay again on our next trip.
Carrie R.May 2015
The house was right off the Pacific Crest Trail. So easy to walk out door and walk for as long as one would want.
Very easy drive to Stevenson where our dog trial was taking place. Had a great time running around to the orchards with the little shops that were open. Just all around fun time. Thank you for taking dogs. Wonderful spot to stay.
Kurt R.May 2015
Alright, we admit that it was our honeymoon. The house is clean and comfortable. It's proximity to major hiking and potential bushwacking is endearing. Fix meals there or visit the local restaurants. We were very happy that we chose to stay here. We'd like to go again, fair soon too! Susan & Kurt.
Thank you so much for this fantastic review! But more importantly, congratulations!!! We are so glad that you chose to stay with us for your honeymoon getaway and look forward to having you as a guests again. Perhaps on your anniversary?
Mythreyi S.May 2015
just few things that can be better
Add a wireless internet
Too expensive esp because of lack of above enities
Thank you for your review. We greatly appreciate your suggestions for improvements, and will be passing them along to the owners. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Christina M.Sep 2014
The area is perfect, especially when used as a gateway to all that the Gorge has to offer. The home is private. There is I84 noise, however, not enough to bother us. We spent the night in order to be within walking distance of a 10K run in the area. It was perfect.
The cottage is quaint, but well appointed. The washer and dryer proved to be a big bonus for us!
It is steps away from the Pacific Coast Trail, and a few minutes walk/ride to the bike path.
A great get away.
Fernando G.Jul 2014
Its a very simple house but regardless the exterior looks, kind of sketchy, the interior and all the amenities and furnishing were right on.
I hope to come back next year same week.
Thank you very much.

The Pacific Crest Trail House is a cozy, comfy cabin that lives up to its name--just a short walk to the hiking trail and minutes from another trail that leads to an awesome waterfall. A great home base from which to explore the many scenic spots along the Gorge (and some great brew pubs, too!)--and then return for late evenings of game playing around the kitchen table. Only downside is that the proximity to Route 84 results in highway noise spoils the quiet of the woodsy surroundings a bit.
Nancy J.Sep 2013
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, attractive, and in a great location to see Columbia river from Portland to Hood River and beyond. Really great for hikers and bicycles....close access to trails and paths.
Connie S.Aug 2013
Very private location and enjoyed that. Would have enjoyed the yard more if it was cleaned up a bit. The house was very funky but clean and fun with everything we needed and then some. Great place for the price. The only disappointment was the traffic noise from the interstate but it did become less noticeable after we were there for a bit.
