Charming, waterfront cottage w/ screened porch & private dock

Rustic appeal doesn't get any better than this South Hero vacation rental. Pine floors, a private dock, and an idyllic lakefront location are just three of the amenities found in this comfortable cottage. It's great for a young family seeking a quiet and peaceful holiday.

This cabin is situated at the end of a private dirt road, near the village of South Hero. You're so secluded you will only see one other house from the driveway. Surrounded by a copse of trees and a pasture, this home is within walking distance to several South Hero mainstays, including Zebs Snack Bar, Pan's Pizza, and The Blue Paddle Bistro.

This seaside abode has a built-in porch around three sides of the home that encloses the original structure, built in the early 20th century. Exposed wood walls and ceilings can be found throughout the one-story home. The bright and cozy sitting room boasts a blue-gray sofa as well as a printed chair. The living area features two wicker armchairs and another chair surrounding a flatscreen TV with a DVD player and an antique wood stove.

The enclosed dining area, set inside the screened porch, has a four-seat dinette set as well as several wicker chairs surrounding a table. It's the perfect spot for a board game or a round of gin rummy!

The kitchen offers all the necessary accoutrements including a fridge, built-in four-burner gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, and myriad cast-iron pans hanging on the wall. Toast some bread in the morning and enjoy it outside with a cup of joe as you watch the sunrise. There's even a gas grill for outdoor BBQs during the summer!

This home can sleep up to eight people, with a maximum of four adults. There are three bedrooms here. The master bedroom sits off the enclosed porch near the sitting area. This open bedroom boasts a queen bed, a slanted ceiling, wood paneling, wood furniture, and a wicker hamper.

The second bedroom is perfect for the kiddos as it affords guests two twins and a chest of drawers. The third bedroom has a twin bed, plus there are twin cots for extra accommodations. There's a full bath with a standalone shower down the hall for everyone to share.

Head around the screened porch and you'll spy multiple spots to enjoy the view and read a book, whether from a daybed or a small couch. Relax on one of the four lawn chairs as you toast marshmallows at the fire pit or head down the steep stairs (not for the elderly) to your private dock for some water fun on the provided kayak (please note that there are no guarantees that the dock will be available to use, as the water level changes seasonally).

There's even an small deck set away from the home to enjoy westerly views over Keeler's Bay on Lake Champlain. And don't forget to bring Fido! Up to two dogs are welcome with an additional fee.

South Hero is one of the exciting Lake Champlain Islands. These beautiful spots offer peaceful refuges far from the madding crowd. White's Beach is the preeminent spot on a hot summer's day, with its volleyball court and swimming section. Bird House Forest is nearby as well, boasting many brilliantly colored birdhouses hanging from hardwood trees. Explore the miniature castles that dot the entire island or find a spot to fish or camp.

Idyllic and tranquil, this cozy Lake Champlain vacation rental is the perfect peaceful refuge.

*Please note that the home's water is not potable. Drinking water will have to be brought in.

We truly enjoyed our fall getaway. This was a perfect spot, very private setting and close to Burlington. The views on the way into South a hero are beautiful all times of day. The cottage was ver clean and comfortable. We will consider this cottage again next year!

You just cannot beat this place for sunset views across the lake to the NY mountains. It's rustic and cabiny, but very clean and comfortable. Great secluded location, too.

Great secluded spot! Clean and spacious. South Hero is a little remote and it's great if you are looking to get away!

This is a great quiet place. It is like being in your own little bungalow.

Great place to relax!

We were greeted with many flies and grit when we arrived here. The small bedrooms and living area are dark and dingy without doors or ceilings for lack of privacy. Exposed wires and studs in core of house. Main bedroom and enclosed porch have been updated, rest of house is not. View was nice, setting secluded.
Manager response:
We are disappointed to see this guest was so displeased with their accommodations. The Property Manager will investigate the comments presented and work on any issues discovered.

Amazing sunsets over the water. Not a great place to swim. Water very shallow and very rocky and slippery.

Fantastic spot on the lake, South Hero is really charming. Great access for biking, easy drive to Burlington and St Albans. Great food in the surrounding area.
