Wonderful grand mountain lodge with hot tub & game room - make family memories!
Reunite with your loved ones at this deluxe Mammoth Lakes vacation rental. The four-bedroom lodge sits quietly on a private road on an acre of land, perched among the evergreens and has glorious views of the Sierras, two jetted tubs, a hot tub, a game room, and is just a short jaunt to Mammoth Mountain for skiing and more activities throughout the year.
While you'll have privacy at this 3, 450 square foot family home, you'll also be on a bus route that will take you right up the mountain to reach lifts for the Mammoth Mountain runs or down the mountain to The Village at Mammoth Lakes. When you're not relaxing at High Altitude Haven, visit the village for events, shops, and dining. Spend your day tubing or mountain biking at the resort, then return to your very own home away from home and relax in the hot tub.
Rustic mountain-style decor and maintained over the years with attention and care, this Sierra lodge has the space, functionality, and comfort you want in a big family vacation. Meanwhile, little design touches like an antler chandelier and natural wood throughout make this a standout among Mammoth Lakes rentals. There's even a log bench outside among professional landscaping for the perfect photo op.
In addition to the great views on the raised deck, there's a cute cafe table set for an intimate moment sipping morning coffee among the verdant vista. Just inside the deck doors is the welcoming living room anchored by a wood-burning stove fireplace with natural stone hearth. To the left is a flatscreen cable TV equipped with Blu-ray and DVD should you want to watch a family favorite. And the two masters suites offer jetted soaking tubs.
Just behind the leather couches is a sprawling dining table for a casual breakfast before the slopes or a sit-down dinner fresh from the slow cooker. Set up a pot roast and head out for the day to return to tantalizing aromas! The fully stocked kitchen also comes with a waffle iron, coffee bean grinder, and blender, as well as plenty of counter space, a kitchen island, and major appliances such as that must-have dishwasher.
After dinner, why not head downstairs to the game room, which has a TV (without cable), pool table, and Foosball table. Spread out a board game and play into the night or just steal some time to yourself with television.
Downstairs just off the game room are two more bedrooms. One has two sets of bunk beds for kids (or kids at heart) to sleep in - one is a pair of twin beds while the other is a full and twin pair. A queen sits in the fourth bedroom. Guests staying on this floor have access to a shared bathroom with two sinks for your convenience.
On top of all the cozy space and private nooks in this Mammoth Lakes family lodge, you'll have WiFi for checking the snow conditions at the resort as well as a private washer and dryer to fluff up your favorite hoodie or afghan. Just add mugs of cocoa and sit by the fireplace!
If you're visiting in the warmer months before snow dominates the area, visit world-renowned Yosemite National Park, about 40 miles north of Mammoth Lakes. On the way, you could take a detour to Mono Lake for a day of boating. The entire southern Sierra Nevada region is lined with trails and protected areas to view wildlife. Each time you return, you'll find something new!
Whether you grew up visiting Mammoth Lakes or you never take the chance to have a getaway in this quiet little slice of heaven, stay at High Altitude Haven for your next California vacation rental experience.

Perfect stay for two families
This is our first time with Vacasa, but have used airbnb and others many, many times. I don't know whether it was Vacasa as a bag with 'goodies' was left (small roll of papertowels and 1 trash bag and some dishwasher soap) but certain items were sorely lacking in this home. As this was a 4 BR home and we had family members sharing we had to purchase many things that we have found in other rentals. Paper towels, tissues, plastic wrap, foil as there were none to be found. We were left one kitchen towel and no hot mitts. We were cooking for all, for the weekend and this made it quite the challenge. One a plus side we found a lot of dishes, silverware, etc. Another thing I did not like was there was no way to communicate with the owners before our trip and Vacasa was unable to answer our questions. As I said the home was beautiful, clean and centrally located so I would give the home 5 stars but due to all the missing items I would lower it to a 3 or 4.
We appreciate the guests feedback. Vacasa does not provide foil or plastic wrap in homes, but oven mitts can be found in the drawer under the bar counter. The housekeeping staff has been notified to leave more toiletries and items for guests. While we were unable to find any correspondence between the guest and our Customer Experience team we encourage guests to call in or reach out to the Local Manager as we have the home information readily available.
I booked his house for three couples going to a summer weekend wedding. It was nice and big, with plenty of bathrooms for us all. My favorite aspect was the plethora of fluffy white towels for hot rubbing and showers.
This would be an awesome place in the winter if you were skiing with friends too.
This house was perfect for our group of 9. ( including 6 teenaged boys) It is large, clean, in a great location and had plenty of fun amenities to keep us occupied in the evenings. I would definitely stay here again.
The house was great for a large family or group. Plenty of room for everyone to gather around the large table or kitchen bar. Bedrooms were roomy and plenty of bathrooms.
We had a family of 5 adults and 4 children so the size of the home was perfect for us. The location was great-close to the village, but quiet with a great view. Having two master suites was a real plus. The game room was also fun for the kids and adults. Would love to come back again!
Set up was great for our family and we loved the location.
The best aspects of this property are the garage, the yellow line shuttle stop outside the front door, and the hot tub on the deck. I stayed here 2 years ago. The house has been fixed up since my last stay and was noticeably cleaner. New hardwood floors. Better housekeeping. And I was happily surprised by the "welcome" bag left by Vacasa. I will rent this property again.
This is second time we've stayed in this home, very homey feeling. Close to the village and other activities. Would definitely stay there again.
Great house very large . We were 3 adults and 5 kids. Nice big mud room off the garage and main entry which we loved to stash our ski clothing and equipment at night. Kids suited up in there and went straight intro the car as its adjacent to the garage.Huge kitchen we ate in all meals. Cozy and large. Nice views of the outdoors from main floor.
Upstairs shower hot water needs to run like 10 minutes before getting hot. :( and dryer took 2x as long to dry clothes than my dryer at home..
Lot of walking up and down stairs as main living area is on 2nd floor . This isn’t a complaint but a forewarning if you have trouble with stairs.
Nice residential feel
Its a great home! Cozy but very large and has plenty of room for the whole family. Patio jacuzzi is lovely at night to enjoy the stars. Full kitchen and large fridge/freezer.
The property is within a decent walkable distance to The Village which has great food, shopping and Gondolas up the mountain. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. Would stay here easily again.
Great house and location. Was happy with layout and proximity to the village. Will stay again!
The home was the right size for our family and was very bright and airy. It had modern furnishings and the place was well kept. It was close to the village, downtown, and the lakes. It's also in a quiet location. This will be our first choice when we book another vacation in Mammoth.
I walk in, downstairs nice and cool, upstairs very hot. Turn on the AC, doesn't work. Although there was a nice breeze at times, it was still pretty dang hot especially while cooking. And speaking of cooking. While we were preparing our first meal the power goes out. Hmmm that's weird. I go outside and find a lot of prymarks on the main breaker like this happens a lot. I found out it definitely does : ( the during our 4 night stay the power went out at least 20 times. Which means cooking stops, tv stops, playing a nice game with the family??? You thought you were! Enjoying the hot tub? Nope! You have to wait till someone goes downstairs with a flashlight to turn the breaker back on. Sometimes 20 minutes later it'll happen again. Speaking of hot tubs. When we arrived we lift the lid and it looked like a family of cavemen just got done enjoying a bath. Okay maybe not that bad but it was pretty dirty to where 90% of us didn't even wanna use it : / the railing on the upper deck it's pretty shaky and kinda scares us, especially with the 30 ft drop to the ground. The fridges water/ice dispenser wouldn't stop pouring most times and would leave a nice puddle to clean up after every use. And lastly there was a pretty good amount of wood molding around the house that was either missing or about to fall off. Not that big of a deal until you stub your toes on them and start bleeding. Other than that we liked it. Very nice location and pretty close to town
We sincerely apologize for the constant power issues this guest encountered. A new circuit breaker will be installed shortly so this will no longer be an issue. The hot tub is serviced every Monday and Friday. Thanks!
This place is in a great location in Mammoth in winter and summer. The place handles large groups really well with a fun game room below with pool table, ping pong, foos ball, etc. It's generally pretty quiet in the neighborhood and nice views. It's oriented well for getting plenty of sun in the winter.
The only areas of improvement at least when we visited this summer is to step up the maintenance. It's not a new place. One window pane was cracked and duct tape was holding it in place. Functioning screens would help cool the place down in the evenings and a bit more attention to cleaning window sills etc would make this a 5 star review.
Otherwise great and recommended.
We are sorry about the broken window. The replacement glass had to be special ordered, and the window is now scheduled for repair. Thanks!
I stayed here with a bunch of friends from high school and had a great time. The view is amazing, the hot tub is great, the beds are comfy, and the location is great. It was a 15 minute drive to the lakes, a 10 minute drive to the slopes, and a 15 minute walk to the brewery and restaurants. It is a decent distance from neighbors and in a great little neighborhood.
The power went out on us once and it isn't controlled on the main breaker in the laundry room. If this happens there is a breaker on the outside left of the house that needs to be flipped and everything will turn back on. Aside from this little hiccup we had a great time at this house.
We had a great time. It was perfect for our family reunion with plenty of space. Loved the Jacuzzi but wish that the top opened the other way so it wouldn't block the view. we biked, fished, rode the gondola, rented boats on Lake Mary and Convict Lake...it was perfect.
Great house for family gatherings. Well furnished and well supplied with books, games, music and movies. Very glad that the bedrooms were downstairs because the upstairs was uncomfortably hot without air conditioning, window screens and drapes on windows. We were greeted with an infestation of moths upon arrival.
We apologize if this guest was uncomfortably warm during their stay. Most homes in the area, including this one, do not have air conditioning as it does not typically get warm enough to warrant it. All windows have either blinds or blackout drapes, but the property manager will do an inspection to see if any window screens are missing. There is a seasonal influx of moths that occur every year; we apologize if they were a nuisance.
We had a group of 8 and everyone thought the house was clean and inviting.
We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful home that was perfect for our group of 10 people. Plenty of room. Close to everything in town. Would definitely recommend any large group to rent from here.
First experience in the snow! The house was wonderful!
Had a great Easter week here very handy for bus to slopes. Big comfy place great to come home to at end of the days skiing.
This home has ample room for a large party of 10. plenty of amenities to entertain your party while relaxing from a long day of great skiing at mammoth mountain. A great place to stay and I would definitely rent this home again on my next trip to mammoth.
Great house for a large group. Get ready to shovel though if you're there during a snow storm. Plenty in the garage which was appreciated ?????. Comfy beds a plus!
Awesome house to have your friends and family together to spend quality time together
Mammoth alone is spectacular, but when you are staying in a home that feels like 'home' it just makes your vacation that much more special. All of the amenities were overflowing and comfortable, the hot tub worked perfectly. I would only suggest you bring your own ice since the ice maker didn't work as well. There seemed to be a bit of an issue w the upstairs master vents (HVAC)... didn't seem to get as warm as the rest of the house. All in all, we had an amazing time and we would definitely rent the home again.
This house is awesome! We stayed here with theee families and it was great! PErfect for three families or a big group of friends! Plenty of room for all and everyone could have their own space. Loved the mud room for all the gear. The kids loved the pool table while the adults hung on the deck. The property is very centrally located- -about a mile from Canyon and a mile from the villiage. To get to Canyon go out Kelly dr and stay on the right. Take the yellow line to the villiage and then take gondola or the blue line. To get home take the blue line. Wish there was a binder or info in house to help you figure it out. But we figured it out. The view is outstanding -gorgeous! It does get sunny though - and there was a weird curtain hanging over the slider that only covered half of it? We sat in the jacuzzi every morning with our coffee - it was awesome! If you have the max people bring extra TP and paper towels. The jacuzzi wasn't serviced when we got there - but they were very responsive when we called it was ready by the second day. I love this house and can't wait to stay there again! Loved this beautiful house!! Good times bad by all! (The house fits 3 cars- 1 in garage and two in driveway)
This cabin is amazing and truly made for an unforgettable trip. It was very well taken care of and the location couldn't be better. Right along the shuttle route and close enough to the mammoth village while still maintaining privacy. Looking forward to coming again.
This home was a perfect gathering place for our 10-person family reunion. 6 adults and 4 kids had ample space and enjoyed the wondeful fireplace and open dining/kitchen area. More complete supply of kitchen staples and paper products would have been appreciated.
We had a great experience in this property. The home's location is very central, less than a mile to Canyon Lodge and The Village, with a bust stop right across the street. The description of the property and its equipment and features was accurate. We had a large group of three families ( 6 adults and 6 children) and you really did not feel crowded at all. There are two suites (with their own bathrooms) in the ground level, separated by a spacious and very inviting game room/space, which includes a full-size pool table and a fuzzball table. The kids loved to hang out in this area, which also had a third room for the kids (with dual bunk-beds). We, the adults, enjoyed the amazing great room of the second level, which features an immense kitchen, dinning and living area. The huge windows, fireplace, and outside deck with working jacuzzi tub made the second level a great place to spend time after a full day of ski. The suite in the second level is fantastic, with large bathroom and walk-in closet. The parking is more than adequate, with a three-car garage (although one space is occupied by the owners' snow mobile, snow blower and other equipment; But the driveway has space to comfortably park three cars. The only issue with the home was that one of the suites in the ground floor did not have window treatments; it looks like they had been damaged and removed, as we found them the blinds stored in the garage. Cleanliness could be a bit better, but by no means a deal breaker. Overall, a great experience at this property. I would definitively recommend it and I would try to stay here again in the future.
Overall a great experience. Very clean and well stocked and can't beat the location!
Amazing house. Amazing staff. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
This location was great for our group of people and kid friendly. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future!
Great house-super clean, very comfy for 5 of us.
Beautiful views, awesome house, definitely would stay here again
Perfect centralized location for ski resort, village and lakes. Spacious home for 2 or more families. Limited parking for the size, but workable.
Great house. Great location. Great city.
We were very disappointed with our stay at this property. We have been coming to Mammoth every summer for the last 5 years and have stayed at different properties around Mammoth Lakes. The house is very roomy and the set up is great for a big group. The issue that we have with this house is that it is not very clean. The carpet has stains everywhere and the entire house is very dusty. Also, there were things shoved behind furnitures that is very messy.
We apologize that this guest was disappointed with their stay. The carpet is currently being replaced with hardwood floors, and a deep clean will be performed in the home as soon as this is completed.
Lots of sun, no air con, no screens, no sleep in the summer.
Wonderful property in a great location.
Hot tub was not working and would turn on/off all night long, keeping us up in the master bedroom. The property manager was very communicative and tried to help, but it was the weekend and his options were limited which is understandable. However, I feel more should have been done other than just refunding the $50 hot tub fee. We selected this place primarily so we could enjoy the hot tub after long days on the mountain.
We are sorry to see that the hot tub was so disruptive during this stay and will do our best to make sure it is taken care of quickly.
This property was perfect. Clean, spacious, and in a good location. Highly recommend and would stay again
Very large beautiful house with amazing views. Location, Location, very short walking distance to the shuttle bus stop and 1 mile from Canyon Lodge. We stayed with another family and cooked in most night. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed and even some extras. There were lots to do for the kids, pool table, foosball, games, books, music, etc... We used the BBQ one night and it was great, there is a work bench in the garage if you need to tune up your ski's/board, plenty of room and a great mud room for all your ski supplies. Really the perfect place to be.
The only down side is that we had problems with the jacuzzi, we are charged for a clean well maintained jacuzzi and that is not what we got. We came Sunday and it was dirty from the previous guests, Monday is the day they clean the jacuzzi so we couldn't use it Sunday or Monday because the temperature didn't reach the desired state until early Tuesday. While using the jacuzzi Tuesday and Wednesday it kept failing with the breaker box. Joe the property manager tried helping us out but we eventually gave up. Honestly I wouldn't even complain if there wasn't a $75 fee for the jacuzzi which I was told we would have a clean jacuzzi for that price. So with that said, I would stay there again, really loved the place, just don't charge for the jacuzzi unless it truly is going to be sparkling clean for the next guest.
Our three families with small children had an excellent stay here! The kitchen was clean and very well-stocked with every utensil and cookware you'll ever need. The rooms had the perfect layout for everyone's comfort, and the game room, board games, and smart TV kept the kids entertained. The hot tub was a welcomed sight after a long day of skiing, and the outdoor bbq made dinner preparation simpler without inhaling all the smoke indoors. The excellent location allowed easy and fast transport of people and equipment to both Juniper Springs and Canyon Lodge. We can't ask for more!
This house is awesome. Here are the things that we loved the most. 1) Incredibly convenient for mountain shuttle: This house is literally 10 feet from the yellow line shuttle stop. Shuttle runs every 20 mins. Impossible for any house to be closer. 2) Beautiful views from the deck: Mountains, snowy trees, big sky. No houses directly behind you to mess up the view. Felt private. 3) Awesome main room upstairs: Big living / dining room with space for activities and fun. Nice couch set up for TV area. Dining table is large. Lots of windows to enjoy the view. 4) Private hot tub on deck: Nice way to end the day after being on the slopes. Private and convenient. Kept tripping the breaker while we were there though. Might want to make sure this is fixed. 5) Huge master bedrooms: Gigantic bathrooms and big closet spaces. Very nice and comfortable. 6) Lovely kitchen: Connected to main area for cooking while still enjoying the party. We spent a lot of time making communal meals. Lots of counter space. 7) Big garage: It was so nice to pull the truck in to unload gear and then to work on the gear on the carpeted floor. Cannot tell you how amazing this was. Plus they have a little ski/snowboard work bench that is carpeted. This family really knows what is necessary to have a functional snow lodge.
The greatest trip so far to mammoth and we go up there annually. This house was amazing, perfect size, comfort of a home not to upscale but had all the flashiness you would need. View was amazing our family enjoyed the games they had inside the home it was just great.
Driving up from San Diego me and my two sons and a few of their friends wanted to do some snowboarding in Mammoth. After a long drive, we were pleasantly surprised at how close the house was to everything. Especially only reading about it online. The place was huge, very clean and well stocked for all your needs. The game room and hot tub were pluses, not to mention how huge the whole house was in general. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and have our own space. We'll definitely want to use this property again on a future trip. The only downside was that we had to leave for home after a few short days. Next time we'll make it longer and stay at the same place.
Great house for making memories in a great location! Perfact for 2-3 families with a few small children. Shamefully, the house definitely needs to be cleaned better. I would request that prior to check in. Also, bring everything as really nothing is provided. No toilet paper at all. Bath soap and trash bags were supplied on the second day. Only two towels per bathroom were provided - bring your own. It's located very close to the village - quick shuttle ride - great location with a beautiful mountain view!
Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to see that housekeeping did not get the home up to our standards and that items were not restocked prior to your arrival. The Property Manager will follow-up with the housekeepers regarding the matter. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
This house is very nice and had everything my group needed on our trip. Excellent location just a short drive or walk to the village. We only had one issue during our stay. Apparently the hot tub needed to be serviced and we were not informed with a call or email, 2 people walked in and said they were there to fix the hot tub. We were a bit perturbed over this. Since we paid for this property we felt we were owed a notice. Other than that the house was great and very comfortable. I would stay again if I knew the same issue wouldn't arise.
Great location and set up. Better than advertized. We will stay again.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the High Altitude Haven! It has everything you need. The house is beautifully decorated and very spacious! We loved soaking in the private hot tub after a long day of snowboarding. After dinner, we enjoyed games of pool and foosball and also hung out by the warm fireplace. I will definitely recommend this place!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It was located next to a trolley stop which took us to the resorts and downtown close by. If you didn't take the trolley, it is still just a 15 min walk into town. We loved that it was fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom necessities. Plenty of amenities: Pool, Jacuzzi, and Foosball, board-games, internet, and satellite TV. The view from the back porch was breathtaking when there is some snow. I would love to come here again every year. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Needs a clean though.
Thank you for your review. We apologize if you found the home lacking in cleanliness; the Property Manager has been advised so he can follow-up with housekeeping. We hope you enjoyed the home otherwise!
The house is fully equipped with snow and summer gear. Leave sleds at home. This place has 4.
Sitting on the back deck in the jacuzzi in the morning and evening were luxurious experiences with mountains and stars that surround you. Wood fired heater added to the ambiance in the great room. Kitchen is MASSIVE and fully equipped. We made memories for a lifetime. Kids loved the fooseball table. Shuttle stops to Juniper and canyon are 50 and 100 meters way from the door.
A great cabin overall, I would definitely like to return again one day.
This is a nice enough house with all the amenities listed. The location is convenient for skiing. The carpet is a bit old and worn. And for our stay the home was poorly stocked with essentials. But I am sure that wouldn't happen again. The house is slightly more expensive than comparable ones in the area and I am not sure it warrants it. But it certainly isn't terrible.
Thank you for leaving a review with us. We sincerely apologize that the home was not properly stocked for your stay and will work with housekeeping on making sure all items are present for our guests. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the location and hope you had fun with the hot tub and pool table!
There is not enough words to describe how amazing this spot is ... The only thing I can say is to just go for it and the experience will forever be remembered !
Great house in a good location with everything you need. Hot tub not working was disappointing but everything else about the property was fantastic.
As a first time renter, Vacasa was very helpful. The rental location is great. Close to stores and a park for kids to play.
We were so satisfied with the place that we felt so at home, for our 4 day stay, we did not feel the need to eat out because everything we needed was there - we just have to cook what we wanted. A great place to stay and very highly recommended, I already showed off the place to my co-workers! For sure we will be back soon!
This is a Fantastic place to stay....fairly central to all locations for Mammoth
Enjoy all the fall colors while driving down to Reds Meadows..beautiful!
weather was perfect and fishing was a lot of fun too!
next time we are going to try the new bowling alley.
