This cottage, on the inside, is exactly like the pictures shown. We accessed it easily with no problems regarding the gate or key lockbox. The inside is clean and comfortable. It's small but was roomier than it looks. Bed was comfortable, bath towels were great. Cottage is furnished nicely with an adequate supply of pots/pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The television is located in the bedroom which could make it awkward if there are more than two adults staying.
If you rent this cottage, be aware that extras are very few - no games, no books, no BBQ grill. Also note that the cottage is located on a busy road and, although gated and fenced in, is not far from the road. The turn-in at the gate can be tricky if there's traffic behind you as there's not much room between the road and the gate.
Overall, this is a nice place. We enjoyed seeing the local farm animals each morning. Very peaceful.
Cottage by the Pond was clean, was stocked with everything I needed, and was the perfect, quiet retreat I was looking for.
Loved it. Truly home away from home.
We enjoyed the ease of use. Everything was clean ready and easy to find. Plenty of pots and pans to cook most anything. One thing missing was lack of patio furniture. Overall a very enjoyable weekend getaway for my wife and I.
Nice quaint isolated cabin. Well furnished and very comfortable. Did not have an issue at all. Be sure to inquire about the cleaning fee though.
Scenic views close to town. Great thoughtful service.
Peaceful, quiet & clean house! Owner lets you borrow a hot spot for wi-fi! Awesome!
Business trips can be overwhelming, but this little gem made the trip relaxing. The pond, horses, and cattle made it easy to relax and enjoy the quiet after a long day of work. I plan to bring my family next year and stay for longer.
It was faster to my destinations than when I stay in town near a main freeway and the back roads are so beautiful! Enjoy!
This is a nice one bedroom house. It was clean. It’s set in the country side. Comfortable.
The front of the property has a 6 foot cyclone fence topped with barbed wire. Around 4-5pm the traffic picks up and is fairly fast in front of the house but the evening is quiet.
I was pulling a car on a trailer which would not fit through the front gate so I had to find storage for it while I was in Austin (3days).
Over all loved the house. 🌸
We spent two nights here over Spring Break. The house was attractive, safe, well-stocked and fairly clean. It was conveniently located for going into Austin and for visiting McKinley Falls State Park. However, the location is a little awkward because you are essentially in a guest house that is in a fenced-off section of someone's back yard. It is a large property and we never saw anyone but it was not quite as private/remote as it could be.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Everything working correctly. Small house has everything you would want. Much nicer than a hotel. Very private. Homes nearby but not too close. Lots of windows to enjoy a country view including cattle. Everything was very clean and nice quality.
Muy bonito lugar amplio y muy limpio con todos los utensilios de aseo y cocina y ropa de dormir
Muchas gracias por todo.
The pictures shown at booking.com are great, the main reason of us renting this place. Honestly for the money paid for this place, I won't go back. Not my stile, not worth the troubles, rather stay in a regular normal hotel...
We are disappointed to see this guest didn't enjoy their stay. We always appreciate hearing specific guest feedback as it helps us to make improvements.
Great place to stay if kept clean !!
over all we had a good stay. the place is nice and clean
We really like staying here within minutes you can be in Town Austin ...Clean, New and comfortable.
We loved it very much, very comfortable and cozy and we will most definitely stay here again!!!
It was perfect size fr myself husband and 3 year old. We had a great relaxing weekend here.
Not a far drive to get anywhere, out in the country, only a couple cars drive by every once in a while. There should be more of these around the country. BEATS a hotel room any day !!!
We loved the location and the scenery was pretty. We had booked this house because we thought it would be great to play in the yard and check out the pond when the kids had down time from sight seeing. But the rural setting of this cottage prevented us from using the grass at all, as it seems like the property is used for livestock. There was even evidence of the animals near the house and we always had to check our shoes. The keyless entry on the front door was confusing and as we arrived in the dark, could not get into the house. The Vacasa staff was on call and helped to get us inside.
We had a problem with the lock. When we called the customer service was excellent. She was so sweet.
Noisy due to traffic/road noise. Porch seating would be nice
We stayed for the month of January at the cottage. It was very comfortable and peaceful, plus charming. We loved the outside area and
enjoyed our stay.
A bit out of the way but worth the extra drive. Sweet, cozy and clean. Well stocked with linens and basics in the kitchen. Enjoyed very much!
Good location near the airport where I attended a conference. Cute little house, had everything you might need. Price was super, less expensive than hotels near the airport. Away from it all, yet close to everything.
Loved this place. Clean private and loved the farm behind us. I would stay again.
I posted this same thing on VRBO -
Nice surroundings - on property with a few oak trees, pond, and cattle grazing in a distance. The place is actually fairly close to a busy road (which was not an issue), but might be easy to miss as you're speeding by!
1. I flew in only to receive messages that the property had not yet been cleaned. Check-in was scheduled to be at 4pm. I chatted with the Austin manager of the property management company, who said that it would be ready by 6pm; I asked that she text or call me, though she didn't contact me till 8pm. I had to rearrange my afternoon/evening schedule, in Austin (20 min away) to accomodate for this. The management company credited $50 off of my stay.
2. Not to mention, by the time arrived, I was disappointed to see that the cable satellite was returning with error messages; I followed the troubleshooting instructions a few times, and it never worked. I texted the manager with no response during the entire stay (nor was it functional the entire time).
I actually assume that perhaps this is beyond control (i.e. rural setting, windy day, trees blocking signal, etc.), but on the other hand, I would expect a response that perhaps someone was contacting the cable company for feedback, or some sort of acknowledgement that someone was doing what they could.
NOTE: that since this was a rural setting, it's not like it was very easy to go out on the town and find some other activity to do.
3. The check-in instructions tout that there are toiletries provided, but perhaps there was only enough shampoo for a day or two for one person. Maybe either mention that you need to bring your own, or provide a larger bottle…? There was also NO body wash nor bar soap available.
4. If you provide a coffee pot, you might want to provide the coffee filters!
5. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and vacation rentals. I arrived in the evening after a long day of traveling, the check-in gettin' pushed out, a coupla appointments, and not having eaten anything. Especially because this location is rural, and I wouldn't have known exactly what was already stocked and what wasn't, it'd really be a nice if perhaps a bottle of water was provided on arrival - because I was already too tired to venture out again to go to the nearest store.
So, I DO understand that there are things beyond control here, but nonetheless, my overall experience was impacted by 'em. Going the extra mile to cover some additional minor details would go a long way.
We are sorry to read about these disappointments, but we greatly appreciate receiving this feedback to work with. Thank you!
A great place to stay if you really want to get away for a while and still have the city close by...
Great weekend, definitely a home away from home and perfect for a girls weekend!
Friendly, knowledgable, professional
It was a great experience all around.
