Great location

I don't even know where to start with how much we disliked this unit! I am furious that I spent (with fees) $276 per night on a unit that should have been more like $79!! The minute we walked in, I knew I had made a mistake in booking. We were greeted with a wood panel dark hallway with lights on the wall that barely lighted the way into the apartment. Table in the hall/kitchen with a horrible black chained chandelier - again provided no light. Walking into the main area there are at least 3 LARGE stains in the carpet, the carpet appears to be 20 years old. The couch has a rip in it, again it's probably 15-20 years old. No other worthwhile comfy seats other than a big chunky wood rocking chair with a nasty blanket on it that looked like a dog blanket. The bathroom - slow draining shower, shower doors stick, and the on/off handle fell off every time you turned on the shower. No scald guard and the water is very hot. The bedroom again, dated, dark, and dingy . old lighting by the sides of the bed and over the "dresser" that are probably 20 years old with dirty lamp shades. Bed comforter and decorative pillows that are old and you wonder if they ever get washed. I immediately removed them from the room. Blanket in the closet was not stored in anything like a protective plastic so again, I'm sure it was full of dust but it was a better option than the comforter if you got cool during the night. Only provided TWO flat pathetic pillows for the entire unit. Where is the bedding for the pull out couch?! What are the foam mats in the master closet for? There are cheap metal blinds in every room that get stuck when you try to raiser and lower them. NO A/C, which is sometimes to be expected in the mountains and I should have noted that when booking. However, could you not even provide a fan of some sort!? I am beyond angry at this major waste of money and I will be requesting some sort of refund. It ruined our beautiful Tahoe mountain experience. We are avid travelers and we travel the world, this was the worst place we have ever rented. We also have no idea where the laundry, fitness room, and pool isthat is stated in the listing. Beware - The photos are of the Northstar ski resort area and NOT the unit you are renting. Only the first few photos are of the unit . Only good thing to say about it is that the kitchen was well appointed and the unit had been dusted, bathroom cleaned. But still, my advice is STAY AWAY there are so many other places to stay in the area, especially in the off season. I have photos I would love to share, but there is no place to upload photos.
Manager response:
We are incredibly disappointed to read this review and sorry to see our guest did not enjoy their stay. The owner is aware of these comments but will not be upgrading anything at this time. Thank you.

Staying right on the mountain with your own kitchen and walking distance to everywhere makes it the perfect getaway! The cabin was cozy and plenty of room for what we needed. How nice.

we loved the location, there was no flexibility to change the reservation date though when we tried to reschedule

Very close to village and slopes - comfortable room

Location was good and studio was good size, only problem we faced was shortage ofhot water in evening I guess to the high demand.

Even though my stay was in a vacation hot spot over a holiday weekend, I still think it was a bit pricey overall given the condition of the condo. The room definitely needed some renovations.

Felt like camping on the inside- needs big time update. The window to watch skiers is cool but the trek down to the village is awful. There is no trail so you have to walk on the slope. Parking is uncovered and limited. Using the shuttle at this location doesn't make sense. We won't rent again.

Fiancé and I came up in July to mountain bike Northstar and the condo sits next to the ski run off lowest chair lift and gondola ar resort! Condo is nothing fancy, but very comfortable for two people, and has all the functional kitchen utility's, wifi, tv, and seating for a pleasant stay. The only negatives are the dim lighting in the space, dated furniture and decor, and the hot water can run out quick. But all in all you can bike rite out the front door to great trails, it's centrally located between truckee and kings beach so with a 10 minute drive your in town with great food and night life, or at the lake beaches. Northstar Village is a 2 minute walk away for great food, and shopping for any mountain gear you may have forgotten. The sushi spot is killer, and the pizza is delicious there. You also get access to the residents sports club with multiple pools, gym, bocce ball, basketball, tennis, and kids arcade just a few hundred yards away! Would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Could use a better sleeper sofa for kids and updated chairs for dinner table. All around great place for long ski weekend.
