The house was clean and well stocked with plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 dogs! Close to the beach, but no real views of the beach. We noticed a steam engine train go by the back of the house and found that we could ride it to the next town. It was a lot of fun!! We enjoyed making a fire on the beach and roasting marshmallows. We were a bit disappointed that there was only one smallish TV in the house. Overall I would be happy to stay here again!
This house was updated and has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space!
The location is great. Short walk to the beach and all the shops and restaurants in rockaway. The home is beautiful, clean, and well kept.
Lots of space and light in this tidy comfortable home. It's less than one minute walk to the beach and the small town is cute. The owners provided everything we needed for our week stay. This may be the nicest property along Rockaway Beach. There were seven of us and we all had plenty of space.
Went for a weekend and absolutely loved it. The house is very comfortable, and has everything you would need.
House was clean with easy access to the beach and food with flexible sleeping arrangements.
The house was well stocked in the kitchen with lots of tools and equipment. The coffee grinder was broken, and several boards were coming off the fence which would allow our small dogs into the yard next door. We fixed several boards but there are several that need attention. Lots of linens for beds and towels for bathrooms.
3 stories made this an interesting house but fun. My 90 year old mother got a bit tired of the stairs but that is to be expected. Great location to beach and Rockaway.
The house was clean, and lots of towels available. Close to the beach and a fenced in back yard for the dog. Plenty of dishes and well-equipped kitchen.
Location to beach and town was great. The beach is beautiful. The felt newly remodeled and very comfortable. To make this a 5 star rating. Window treatments would have been nice. It was hard to have dinner at the table with the sun glaring on us. A garage door opener would have been made life easier. Last the first floor bedroom had a pretty bad mildew smell. The rest of the house was beautiful.
Everything was very nice and clean.
We brought 10 people and had a wonderful retreat for the week. Lots of stairs, but nice to be able to put girls and boys on different floors. Loved having a bathroom for each bedroom plus an extra should anyone need it. We would love to come back again!
This is a great place for a family gathering or group of friends. It's right near 101 and practically on the beach, with a cute Catholic church across the street. The design and layout is great, each bedroom is on its own floor and has its own bathroom. The kitchen and dining room are well-designed and spacious, easy to cook and serve meals. Everything is quality and up to date, but still feels cozy. The decks on the upper floors (one off the living room facing the ocean, the other off the master facing town) really add to the feeling of space and are a great place to hang out in good weather. We loved our short stay here and would definitely come again.
So why isn't this a five-star review? It should be, but we kept running into little details that made it feel like the place wasn't lived in or cared about. Here's a quick list: the garage door opener didn't work (I hunted around and reset a GFCI outlet that got it working, otherwise parking would have been a real problem), three light bulbs were burned out, towels were missing in the half-bath and in the kitchen, the trash bag liner was missing in the kitchen, the stove knobs had been switched so the burners didn't match the knob setting, and the big curbside trash bin had been left directly in front of the front door with the lid open, collecting rainwater. One or two of these minor annoyances would hardly have been noticed, but constantly tripping over details that had been neglected took the shine away from the place.
To be clear, the housekeeping staff had left the place very clean - bathrooms and kitchen were sparkling, we had enough towels to make up for the lack in the half-bath and kitchen, and the furnishings were high quality. Beds were comfortable with nice bedding, and generally everything was in place. The house itself is in great shape, with excellent design, truly a perfect place for a weekend (or several weeks) away. The small neglected items only stood out because everything else was great. All it needs is someone to check in and pay attention to things any homeowner would notice, and it would be a real gem.
We are sorry to see there were so many little details that made this stay less enjoyable. We were informed of the garage door not working and discovered a previous guest had locked it with a lever from the inside. This has been addressed. We now have more housekeeping team members to ensure inspections prior to guest check-in are done thoroughly so things such as towels, trash bags, stove burners, light bulbs, etc. do not get missed. We believe a storm just prior to this guest's arrival must have blown the outside trash can into the position they found it in. We will see if we can weigh it down in some manner so it doesn't get blown around anymore. Thank you!
We stayed here during the Christmas New Years break. Rockway is a great little town and the location to the beach was perfect. House we clean and perfect for our group
Based on previous reviews, I was mentally prepared for an unkept rental, but we were pleasantly surprised with how clean everything was. The house is located across the street from the beach and it was a gorgeous beach. The house is about 10-15 minutes from Tillamook, with Oceanside and netarts not being too far away. We also drove to Astoria and cannon beach, which was about 1.5hrs away.
There were 3 families staying at this house and it was wonderful to have 3 separate levels for each family to spread out and have privacy. Loved how each bedroom had its own bathroom and an extra half bath on the top floor.
We cooked everyday of our stay and the kitchen had all the cookware we needed, minus oven mitts. There were plenty of dishes and cups so we didn’t have to continually wash them. Plenty of cleaning supplies provided. Each bathroom had plenty of towels.
One negative was the first floor bedroom was a complete dead zone for cell phone reception and WiFi. We have century link service at home and know how horrible their service can be sometimes but we definitely were not expecting a complete dead zone in the bedroom. Other than that, the WiFi worked on the other 2 upper floors.
If we ever go back to the Oregon coast, we would definitely stay here again but i would come back during the summer when it is warmer to enjoy the beach.
Enjoyed the location and size of home. There were a few concerns, HOle in the wall, stains on carpet, dated tv's and washer/dryer, broken furniture. Internet was fast, tv service was good. , Fridge and jetted tub, upper balcony, garage were great.
The hole in the wall is scheduled for repair and the carpets are scheduled for a clean. We will mention the items to the owner so they can take them under consideration for improvements.
The house had a great location. The beach was wonderful! The house is a good size, but felt a little run-down. Beds were all shaky and carpet is stained everywhere you look. It does have 3.5 bathrooms which is great for large groups. We had a good time visiting Rockaway Beach.
This house is so much fun. It was quiet and peaceful. So close to the beach, but far enough you don't track sand all in the house. The town is small and charming. Would love to stay here again!
We loved the location of this house. Our family ages ranged from 18 mos. to 92 years old and the stairs in this house were a concern. You enter the house on the bottom floor where there is a bedroom, the kitchen and one bedroom are on the second floor and the living room and another bedroom are on the third floor. Each bedroom has its own full bath which is great. The third floor also has a half bath off the living room.
This house is perfect! It's located just less than 1 minute from beach access and it has 2 balcony doors to leave open and enjoy the fresh sea breeze and cool air. There are a lot of stairs but you get use to it! The kitchen is the best gathering room in the home! The beds were all comfy and clean and the bathrooms were great! I can't wait to stay here again.
We found the house to be clean and tidy. It was a welcoming place to stay and adequate for our 11 person family group. Had a nice time. It was nice to have internet access also.
With a new couch, new skillets in the kitchen, some proper window coverings, and a deep cleaning this would be a 4 star rental. Run down neighbors houses and awkward floor plan keep it from being 5 stars. Families with young children should be aware that the kids bunk room is on the bottom floor next to the front door and garage. Overall though we had a pleasant vacation!
I thought the house was beautiful but the set up is a little weird. The living room is on the third floor kitchen on the second and a room on each floor. And when they say ocean view they mean you can see a tiny little part of the ocean but only from third floor balcony. It's in a great location the beach is only a few steps away which was really nice! Also right by all the little stores :)
This home appears to be very well updated while still feeling quite cozy! The bathroom/bedroom setups are very nice for multiple groups who want to share common areas or maybe for a family with older children (each bedroom is on a different floor). There is a convenient bathroom attached to each bedroom. The house was well stocked, plenty of linens and clean.
I only have 2 minor complaints. One is thst the yard is not really fenced so we had to take our dog on leash to potty. Also the house next door appeared vacant with a flapping tarp on the roof and the beach view was limited.
One other thing to keep in mind is that the living room, kitchen, and main entry are all on different levels which added a little extra need for vigilance with two young toddlers.
Overall a really nice, clean house, close to the beach, for a great price!
The three floors with bathrooms on each level allowed our families to enjoy privacy - the large kitchen and eating area, and the lounging space on the top floor gave us plenty of room to gather together - beach access was great, as well as access to restaurants and shops in walking distance -
We had a wonderful time can't wait to come back thanks.
We arrived later than we planned and it was dark but we had no trouble finding the house and getting in per instructions sent to us! We really enjoyed this vacation house and the quiet neighborhood - we will definitely be back! The house is calm and peaceful, everything needed for cooking meals in the kitchen and the most wonderful whirlpool tub (DEEP DEEP DEEP) in the masterbath. Seriously, this place can house a whole tribe! ;) comfortably! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! We feel blessed!
We shared the house with our son's family including two grandchildren, 10 and 8. The place was well taken care of, and was very clean. The two car garage could only fit one car, but there was plenty of safe parking on the street. The house was a short walk to the beach and it felt very safe to go to the beach with the children.
The location of the house was very good, being very close (10 miles) from Tillimook for shopping, plus a good location for driving to Hugs Point, Cannon Beach, and the rest of the Oregon coast.
It would have been nice to have a TV in the kitchen on the second floor, but it was good that the kids were in the lowest floor and were secluded from the adults when they wanted to play.
We were very happy with the house and the people at Vacasa.
The kitchen is awesome, but there's a lot of stairs no matter if you decide to stay home or go out. Be prepared for them. You have a great view fo twin rocks from the 3rd floor deck but no other real view of the ocean.
House was very nice. Accommodated 10 of us! Layout is a little choppy but such close beach access. Thanks for letting us stay!
Our family had a great time at this beach house. It has a great layout. Three floors very nicely remodeled. Will come back next time we crave a beach get away.
We loved our stay at this lovely home on Rockaway beach. The location was so perfect - central to everything we wanted to see and do while we were here! It was so great to have room for our family of six. The kids loved their bunk beds, the teens enjoyed having their own space to sleep with an adjacent full bath, and we felt like we had the privacy we craved after a full day together. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved having a washer and dryer to wash all of our wet sandy clothes after time spent at the beach. We will definitely look into staying here again when we return!
Great location. Beautiful kitchen.
This house was perfect. We were 3 families with young children vacationing together. It worked out perfectly that each family had their own level as each bedroom is on a seperate level. The kitchen was well stocked. The beach was so close. The only thing is the train & 4th of July fireworks were a lot louder than we weren't expecting. Great location in Rockaway.
We had a family reunion in Rockaway Beach. There were about 30 of us who stayed in various places along a 2-mile stretch. My family of 5 plus my sister and brother-in-law were very comfortable in this house. We had everyone in the group over for dinner twice, and had everything we needed to prepare and serve. It was a little quirky having the living room and kitchen on different floors, but it worked out fine because when we had people over, the kids would entertain themselves upstairs while the adults visited in the kitchen. There were plenty of towels, washcloths, and cleaning supplies. We had everything we needed.
This house was like staying at a friends house. It was comfortable, not only for the adults, but for the three teenagers. Plenty of bathrooms, places to be together and apart, and perfectly located with only the beautiful Catholic Church between us and the beach. Most mor I get, my dog and I had the beach almost to ourselves. Best vacation in years- we will most definitely book again.
Beautiful home close to beach, only complaint is all the stairs
My grandsons loved the house the location to the beach, the ability to walk to town.
They asked when they could come back again
Would recommend to friends and family. Plan on reserving property in future.
My wife and I wanted to rent a home on the coast for a week that my children and grandkids and a couple of friends could come stay with us over the weekend. This property fit the bill! We had a big group over the weekend and there was enough sleeping places and bathrooms to meet our needs. We hadn't thought through the fact that the family room was on a different floor from the kitchen & dining room so we were a little more separated at times than we would have liked - but it worked out as the adults spent time in the kitchen/dining area visiting and cooking. The kids were in the family room watching TV and playing games. The house was well furnished and had plenty of kitchenwares, towels, blankets etc. We couldn't figure out how to watch television shows on the TV's in the bedrooms so although the house had 4 TV's, we could only watch the one in the living. room. Not sure if the bedroom TV's were hooked to the satellite or if we just couldn't figure it out. The location to the beach was great - basically across the street for access. Downtown was a short walk to shops and restaurants. Everyone enjoyed their stay!
Love the location. The beach was right there and the nicest people at the church right there.
We enjoyed our time here. The beach was very close and there were a lot of cute stores within a block or two. The only drawback is all the stairs. It would be fine for younger people but didn't work out well for us seniors.
