Dog-Friendly Beachfront Home w/ a Private Hot Tub, Wood Fireplace, & Free WiFi

Bird’s Nest is located on top of a protected dune with spectacular views of Pelican Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The fabulous views of the water can be enjoyed from the screened-in porch with outdoor dining for four or from the private hot tub where each night you can see the lighthouse light shining beneath the stars. More of a morning person? Then you will love the kitchen, as it is set up to take advantage of more views from the cozy bench seat where you can sip your morning coffee and watch the sunrise. The views continue in the main bedroom with its en-suite bathroom and large soaking tub. The home also has a loft with two twin beds and a second bathroom with a walk-in shower.

This home also has an elevator that enters from the concrete drive and opens to the main living level. Bird lovers will enjoy scanning the trees for the wide varieties of birds that call Dauphin Island home. Who knows, you may even get a chance to see the bald eagle that is often seen in the trees by Bird’s Nest. If visiting during the cooler seasons, the wood-burning stove is a great way to warm up after a winter stroll with the family dog. It doesn’t get any better than Bird’s Nest, where you can step off the deck and have nothing but sand between you and the shoreline.

What's nearby:
A short walk will take you to the water's edge of Bienville Beach where you can splash around, swim, and play with the kids. A mile away, you'll find Ship & Shore Supplies Inc. with everything you need to keep your pantry stocked during your stay. Loved the view for the firework show, the house was nice only downfall was there was sand in hot tub when we arrived but called and they offered to send someone straight out and the ceiling fans where extremely dirty other than that loved everything thank you

Very cool house, and we had a great time! The views are 5 stars and are amazing from every room. The dunes behind the house provided a one-of-a-kind experience for our family and our dog. The location was great- not far off the main road, but it felt very private with only 3 houses together on that section of dunes. The hike down to the bay was longer than if you were staying right on the beach, but the scenery it afforded made it worth it.
There were a few small things that were wrong, thus the loss of 1 star. Low water pressure in the guest shower, The bikes were both unusable (loose handle bars on one and loose seat on the other.) One burner on the stove put out too much gas. There were no lamps for softer lighting than the bright overhead lights. One sink stopper stuck in the master bath (we pulled it out to use that sink.) No entry mats on the back porch or by back doors, so lots of sand came in. The stairs are no joke. The elevator worked great for my family, but I'm claustrophobic & didn't use it (not the house's fault!) Also my husband doesn't like heights, so he was a little freaked out at first that the house is built so high up on stilts.
Even with the small quirks, overall it is a great house! If it had a pool we would probably have never left!
Manager response:
Hi Mary, thank you for choosing our home! It was our pleasure hosting you and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement and we are happy to confirm the bikes and bathroom stopper have been repaired. Our team checked the water pressure and no problem was found. Entry mats have been ordered and service has been scheduled to repair the stove. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

Pictures didn’t do it justice...ton of stairs but also an elevator. Back deck in dunes, short hike to beach. Perfect swim area for kids who want to stay out of major waves or waves are close too.

We wanted to let our fur baby experience the beach, and this was the perfect spot!!

The view was beautiful. The house itself is very uniquely built.

Everything was great!

The house is beautiful. The views were outstanding. The stairs sucked to get up to it while unloading the car. There is an elevator but they have a note on the door warning you will incur a $1,080 fine if it breaks. I didn’t use it for that reason. The hot tub was amazing. The outdoor shower did not work properly. It had water shooting out of holes in the hoses. The neighbor was friendly. I also think that it was a great value.
Manager response:
Hi, Carrie! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. The owner will be relocating the shower to a more convenient location and replace all of the hoses. We will review the elevator sign with the owners. Thank you!
