We very much enjoyed our stay at this home. It was a comfortable and nicely laid-out home, with two bedrooms and 1.5 baths on the main level, the master bed/bath plus office on the second level, and a bonus bedroom and full bath over the garage. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, utensils, and other cooking tools (e.g., blender, cuisenart, mixer, storage containers, etc.). The laundry room had clean, easy-to-use large-volume washer and dryer. The dining room sat 6 very comfortably and could fit a few more easily. The screened porch was lovely and the back deck had multiple seating areas. My favorite aspect of the house was the view from the back -- onto the golf course and lagoon. It was such a lovely view to wake up to each morning and to enjoy every evening. This was our first visit to Kiawah and I thought the location of the house was optimal -- just inside the Vanderhorst Plantation, which appeared quieter/calmer than the high density housing options in East Beach and West Beach, but close enough to the center of the island where the park and many activities occur. The house was about a 5-7 minute bike ride to the beach and a 10-12 minute bike ride to Night Heron Park. There are many neighborhood streets in Vanderhorst, plus the main bike trail, to ride on, and is close to the main bike trail that takes you to East Beach and West Beach areas. The internet worked well (both my husband and I had work presentations via Zoom and WebEx during our stay and had enough bandwidth for them to go smoothly. Be aware that the screens in the bedrooms are not hooked up to a cable box, so you cannot watch TV in the bedrooms. You can access TV shows and movies by signing into your own Netflix, etc. accounts. The beds were very comfortable with soft sheets and cozy duvet covers. Blankets and extra pillows are available as well. They do not provide extra garbage bags for the kitchen, so plan to bring/buy garbage bags. There are also no games or puzzles in the house (although Vacasa provides a deck of cards). The house was very clean and seemed to have been updated with fresh paint, furniture, and decor fairly recently.
