We really enjoy how close you are to town. I appreciate the spa soak after a day of climbing and hiking.

The small place just for two

Totally relaxing quite location but easy walking distance into town center. Well appointed for the cost and convenience of the location. Not scenic but niice private hot tub, which was wonderful after hiking San Jacinto peak. Nice couples retreat. Would recommend it highly.

Cute little town was walking distance and the hot tub made the experience so much better

Idyllwild is a lovely place to visit. Rustic cabin with cute wooden spiral staircase. Nice to have a quiet spot near town to enjoy the mountain night sky and watch the squirrels play. Some difficulty with water pressure for the shower and connecting to the wifi.

Great home for couple, perfect location to walk into town

The car parking is worse than your worst nightamare! Theres stones everywhere... the space is pretty bad..
The driveway is made up of gravel; we apologize if this did not suit this guest's preference.

If you are trying to get away from the city life then this place is a great location to do so. The only noise I heard was children's laughter, maybe one neighboring dog or two, and a whole bunch of acorns falling from the trees onto the house with some powerful thumps during our stay in October 2017.
This place is literally walking distance from restaurants and little shops to the town museum and churches. you can get your jerky fix or some good-ole fashioned ice cream at the same time or dine at an actual vegan restaurant across from the Postal Office. I truly loved the burgers from The Lumber Mill and Mile High Club. Wooly's is a nice place to pick up a souvenir or wardrobe for mountain wear( including animal fur). Three houses down from the main street where everything is nearby, not feeling isolated nor overcrowded. Be aware of the old style carpet where if you drop something you may not be able to find it due to its pattern and high conduction of static. Not a day went by for me where I wasn't shocked multiple times a day.
Meet the Mayor! Mayor Max( Golden Retriever) is driven around to greet the people of Idyllwild along with siblings/deputies Mikey and Mitzi which was a cool treat to see of a town doing something differently. There is hiking and rock climbing for adventure seekers as well. Just get an Adventure Pass ($5) and fill out a release form (in case anything goes wrong). Two trails are available near Humber Park which isn't really a park. It consists mostly of trails: The scenic trail and Devils Slide.
Have a nice stay!

This place is over priced, probably the hot tub makes it attractive too. Or you are simply paying the convenience to be closed to the restaurants and businesses.

I really enjoyed my stay and the cabin was the perfect petite size for a romantic weekend. The fireplace was great to have, and loved the jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The location was perfect, no need to drive anywhere other than the hiking trails. I would love to come back sometime soon!

We stayed at the “Le Petit Chateau” over a long weekend just before Christmas. It is a very short distance away from “downtown” Idyllwild. The place is small but great for a couple. A bedroom including bathroom is on top of a living room with an open fireplace and kitchen. The two are connected with the funkiest custom made spiral staircase I have ever seen, definitely not suitable for handicapped or seriously overweight people.
Everything was clean, towels and bathroom supplies were supplied, the hot tub was fired up and ready to go, kitchen equipment was plentiful (even a cocktail mixer and a fancy wine opening set). The two heaters provided plenty of heat to keep the place warm, even without the fireplace going. The downstairs gas heater required a bit of fiddling to get going, the pilot light switch is very touchy.
Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and I can warmly recommend this place for a couple.

Great location, and the cabin is really cute. The tight spiral staircase is a little scary, but I had no trouble navigating it. All in all, Le Petit Chateau had everything I needed. My biggest complaint is having to pay a big fee for cleaning the hot tub when I had no intention of using it.

We were looking forward to a nice, romantic anniversary vacation. The property as advertised was exactly what we were looking for, however, it did not deliver. The spa was broken and made a very loud sound throughout the night. We couldn't sleep. The television/cable did not work for our entire stay. The air conditioning unit did not work either. These things were advertised as working and our decision to rent this property was partly based on these amenities. The tub was dirty and so was the deck in the back. We found a painting by Rembrandt was a little scary to look at. The property manager came out, but wasn't able to fix the spa or cable during our stay. He said he was going to come back and fix the cable, but didn't. He also mentioned that we would receive some sort of refund for the broken spa, but hasn't followed up.
The place was quaint and romantic, but needs some serious update, cleaning, and working amenities. Renter beware!
The spa pump has been repaired, and the cable's HDMI cord has been replaced. This guest is being refunded for these inconveniences.

A nice, quiet secluded place close to town.

Nice, small cabin for two. Great location, close to restaurants and shops. No air conditioning , so bring a fan during summer months. Had an ant problem, so don't leave any food out for long. Overall though, had a great time

This cozy cabin is only a couple minutes walk from downtown Idyllwild but far enough away to still feel like an escape. Definitely meant for 2 but we enjoyed it. We read earlier comments about the bed and were concerned. The bed is fine. The issue was with the frame. The mattress/box spring will drop off frame if not situated just right. I communicated with the local Vacasa manager. That was nice too. There is an office in Idyllwild so support was great. We did not use hot tub but it was clean. Cabin was clean as well.

Idyllwild is a great place to get away and relax. There is hiking, walking, shopping, fine dining, and live music. It is a great way to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, the owners of Le Petite Chateau must immediately change the mattress on the bed. It slopes to one side and made for three very uncomfortable nights. My husband and I felt like we were going to roll off on the bed at any given moment. The point of going away is to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to RELAX. It's hard to relax when you are not sleeping properly.

Needs improvements; spiral staircase very hard to manage.
We are sorry to see that the stairs were difficult to maneuver for this group; if stairs are an issue, we are happy to assist guests in finding them their perfect rentals with minimal steps.

1. Be there to pick up the phone.
We are very sorry that we have been so difficult to reach lately. We have experienced a large increase in call volume and are actively hiring and training more agents so that we are easier to get in touch with.
