Lakefront home with lake views, private dock, kayaks, canoes, and washer/dryer!

Enjoy a secluded retreat by the lake - with plenty of toys to enjoy your time! This home is located on three acres of tall pines on a dead end road that stops at the state forest. It's the perfect spot to light up a fire in the firepit and enjoy the great outdoors. But being only 25 yards from the lake, you may be tempted to spend all your time out on the water. Launch from the dock, and pull up your boat directly near the home when you're ready to come in for fresh meat off the grill. Enjoy meals on the patio or around the firepit as the sun goes down. Wind down inside in one of two cabin-style bedrooms, where everyone can lay up chatting all night. Enjoy winding down and dreaming about the lake adventures of the next day - the sturgeons might be jumping!

What's nearby:
Just downriver from the ten-lake Manitowish chain, Benson Lake is a charming lake perfect for fishing and other water activities. The area offers lots of opportunities for outdoor activities, from horseback riding to ice fishing! But don't worry about buying groceries - you'll be able to get a delicious meal (or the ingredients to make one) in the town of Manitowish Waters just three miles away.

The home was just perfect! It was secluded and quiet and so nice. The perfect getaway if only we could have stayed longer! We would stay here again. Super hospitality too, thank you Allen!

We loved our visit. Very quiet and peaceful. Right on the lake with a beautiful lookout. Each day we explored the lake on the canoes and boat provided which was a lot of fun... especially since there is so much wildlife around. The house was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our little getaway. Allen was very helpful and available to give us tips on the area. We would definitely like to come back.

This is a wonderful property with lots of extras and details. It is extremely quiet, so the perfect place to get away. No WiFi and phone signals are hit and miss, but you can always go to the library for free WiFi if you really need it. We love this place, this was our fourth time there. We are planning to be back next summer.

Allen was wonderfully communicative and flexible. We visited in the winter and our flight was delayed a few times. I let Allen know and he was very kind and responsive. It helped make a stressful situation much less stressful. The house itself was very spacious and has a beautiful view of the lake. We loved sipping coffee in the morning and looking out at the snow covered wonderland. The driving directions are tricky as mentioned in other reviews. Allen sends directions to follow after booking that help. The pictures accurately reflect the rooms. The washer and dryer in the basement were a great amenity that helped reduce the amount of clothes to pack. Nice stay!

Benson Lake was a total unknown up - north destination for our adult family of four. We were nicely surprised the instant we walked in the door of this hidden GEM of a retreat that was very clean and well-stocked! Al was very helpful in providing us with insight into the area before arriving and check with us after we arrived to answer any questions. This was one of our best family get-away vacations yet, allowing us to canoe, kayak, do nature walks, see some of the up north wildlife as well as do some fishing (small mouth bass were biting). We are already planning a return visit!

What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the fall colors. A great secluded location but not far from town. I have never seen a better stocked Airbnb location. Thanks for everything, Al.

Oh my gosh - what a great place! Allen was wonderful to work with & did everything possible to make sure our stay was great! The location is breathtaking - I have some of my most favorite pictures taken from the dock! The place was very cozy & cabin-like, all the amenities (plus more) that you would need. Loved the drive in! Directions were spot on & made it very easy to find.

This is the quintessential Northwoods stay. It is situated near the dead end of an unpaved road, which allows for a very quiet and peaceful stay. The house is sparkling clean and has everything you could think of - kitchenware, appliances, coffee maker, outdoor grill, etc. Two Kayaks, a canoe and a small fishing boat were available to use on the lake/ river. We had a great time taking the canoe out on the water in the morning as it was very peaceful and offered a glimpse at some of the wildlife in the area. We had the chance to meet Allen in person during our stay. He was extremely friendly. Overall. this is a great stay for anyone looking for a quiet, Northwoods getaway. We will definitely be back.
