Enjoyed everything about this house! Kids loved the pool, the deer, the outdoors, BBQ, and games. Will remember this vacation getaway for years. Will definitely come back. We made memories. We loved the drive into the neighborhood as well. There is just too much to say about this house. Wish we could of stayed longer.
We had such a lovely, private getaway on this gorgeous piece of property. All the features were quality, the home was immaculate and the property manager got back to us immediately with any questions we had. We will definitely come again!
Fun spot, we liked the pool and the grounds were beautiful. We saw plenty of cute deer. Communication was good with staff. Enjoyed using the grill and sleeping in - the beds were really soft.
Nice place. Private. Nice place to relax and catch up with family.
Great back yard, enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Loved the nature, as cows were in the yard for breakfast and deer at twilight.
We had 11 people that the house slept comfortably. They seemed to have thought of everything that you would need for entertaining. Game table, puzzle table, great kitchen for cooking, and outdoor are to hang out with friends around a fire. Would recommend this house to anyone wanting to get out of the city and explore Wimberly a little.
We had 3 families in town for a family wedding at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildfire Center. The house was perfect. Open and yet still enough privacy for young kids to nap without disturbance. The pool was a huge hit (as were the free roaming wildlife). The kitchen was fully stocked and a grocery store was not far. The covered patio was a favorite hang out and we never even turned the outside tv on!! There was entertainment equipment (bikes, games, movies, gaming system) that we never used because we would have had to stay inside!
The area had plenty to do if you want! We went through shops in Wimberley, got to experience Market Days, hiked Winter Mill Trail and climbed Old Baldy, went to the Salt Lick and Hays City Store, and even spent a little time in Austin!!
Our only issues were with the full bath in the hall. The towel rack was pulling off the wall and the tub did not drain well. This did not hinder our trip at all since there was another bath for the kids, but they are easy fixes.
Beautiful house, nice and quiet neighborhood, friendly community!!
The house was absolutely beautiful (including the area/surrounding neighborhood), well equipped, & very well kept. Will hopefully return again in the future!
This house was perfect for our girls trip weekend getaway!
Everything was great but we had a few uninvited guest, scorpions! We only had a couple but we all checked every bed a few times! The sheets in a couple of the beds were not washed. One had some sort of drool stains and another with a toenail in it. We had but two trash bags so that was a little hard too.
Overall though we made the best of it and enjoyed our time!!
We are very sorry for these issues. We have followed-up with our housekeeping team and called pest control. Thank you!
Spacious house, comfy beds, great covered back porch. Nice little swimming pool, large kitchen. Quiet setting. 3 fridges, plenty of parking, lots of towels, etc.
Nice open concept lots of room for entertaining the family and large kitchen. Pool was great and the property feels secluded with several deer wandering through to give you that country feel. Also the Kids enjoyed the bikes and the pool.
Very clean property that comfortably slept 8 people. The property is in a neighborhood but off the road and completely secluded from the adjacent houses. Inside the house had nice amenities and spacious areas. Plenty of parking off the road for multiple vehicles. Nice outdoor pool that was perfect for our group. When we arrived, we planned to grill except the grill ran out of propane. I contacted the property manager, Jake, and he helped us instantly. There were a few issues with the property that need to be addressed: 1) The outside television does not work. You turn it on and get audio only with a flashing red screen. This was the biggest disappointment for our group as we wanted to stay outside around the pool area as much as possible. 2) The wifi was basically useless especially when 8 people were connected to it. 3) The grass around the pool area had not been mowed in at least a couple of weeks. If these issues were address it would be a perfect rental.
Loved the open feel, amazing back patio with pool and grill, along with secluded feel to the property, including a very nice grill. The whole home was very clean, would stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Hill Country. The house was beautiful, spacious and well equipped. Definitely would rent again if occasion arises. Especially enjoyed hangins out on the covered patio, grilling and using the pool. Bikes in the garage were such an added plus.
Great location. Wimberley is a cool small town with a lot of little stores.
The home is very big and spacious. Be warned that both master bedroom closets are locked so we had to hang our clothes on the door handles. Not acceptable for the money we paid. House was also out of propane and we went over 24 hours without heat or hot water. One side of the house where one master bedroom and the kitchen is located had hot water. There were 4 women that stayed at the house and we didn’t want to wait to take showers. We had day trip plans. At 5 pm that evening the propane truck arrived. They need to keep u with their maintenance better than that! And the closet issue irked us the entire trip. The kitchen has both keurig and drip coffee maker. Beds are comfortable but two rooms have double beds. Please upgrade to at least queen beds. There is plenty of room in those bedrooms for queen beds. Cows roam freely so watch out for cow poop. The deer are precious that come up to eat handouts or graze in the yard.
The house was perfect and is good for multiple families at once
We really enjoyed our stay - the house was very spacious and the back patio was perfect for wine & conversations.
The house was very nice and well cleaned when we arrived. Plenty of room for our party of 8 to all sleep in a bed. We spent most of our time on the back patio as it was very comfortable and perfect weather. Having a pool was nice and we enjoyed the fact that it was secluded.
Loved our recent trip to Texas and our stay in Wimberley. The home was clean and very comfortable. Would love to stay longer on our next trip.
Loved the house and had a great vacation!!
The house was everything and more. The pool was great .Everything about this house was great.I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a peaceful getaway.I will rent it again.
We had our family of 12 at this house for 5 days and everyone had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and well stocked as far as kitchen items, towels, pool toys, bikes. We would definitely rent this home again!
We had a great time with our family. Playing in the pool and watching the deer all day.
Everything was as expected other than the trash not being taken out by the party people that stayed before us.
This is a lovely house and my family, two sons and their spouses and three grandkids 5, 3 & 3 enjoyed our stay. My adult kids did not sleep well due to full sized beds - if you're tall or a little bit overweight it is difficult for two to sleep comfortably on the fulls. The front yard is visited by deer and cattle which thrilled the grands. Although we couldn't use it for a soccer field as planned due to cow patties and deer scat! Kitchen is roomy and pretty well supplied. We fixed all our meals there. Dining room has strange setup, tall bar height table, with four chairs (can bring two bar height chairs from kitchen breakfast bar but beware, there is no support in a couple of the chairs. Then there is a small regular height table with two chairs We supplemented with a folding table and chairs so all of us could sit together - at staggered heights for meals. Patio and pool area - fabulous! Nice BBQ and fire pit. This area was heavily used by our crew! In the country but close to Wimberly for groceries (HEB - hooray), souvenir shopping, visits to Blue Hole Park, and a few restaurants.
This was our second year at this house, we had another great family time. The pool and outdoor patio is the place we spent most of our time, planning on reserving next year.
Perfect retreat to relax and enjoy your privacy with family (including dogs). Kiddos had fun in the pool. Loved drinking my coffee on the back patio.
This home was spotless, fit two families with young children very easily, and provided several days of perfect relaxation.
We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. It's become a special retreat for our family. We have three kids ages 1-4 and it's a beautiful well appointed home with serene surroundings and responsive house managers.
Great house and property. Loved the wildlife.
House was great! Pool was very enjoyable! Deer running around the grounds was fun!! It was perfect for our son's wedding!
We have stayed here several times in the past and the property continues to provide a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. We love to unwind, watch the wildlife, stargaze and build memories with our small children. Thank you for opening up your beautiful home to us!
Our 2 families with a total of 9 people stayed here and there was so much room! The kids LOVED the pool and we all loved the outdoor area to spend time in throughout the day. We've been to some vacation rentals where we didn't have everything we needed in the kitchen and that was not the case here. There was plenty of everything!
Our kids adored being able to watch the deer and cattle move throughout the property. I can't think of one thing that could've been better.
We enjoyed staying at the house very much. It was roomy, clean and comfortable.
The location was great for Wimberly!
This is such a lovely house. The pictures of it are exactly as shown. Everything you need is there. A little too cool for a swim, but a beautiful pool. Everyone really enjoyed watching television late at night on the outside patio, Kitchen is very well equipped, even though we did not cook. (This cook had the weekend off!). Beautiful curvy road getting to the house, just watch out for deer and cattle.
The location is secluded but not far from shops and the city. The house was stunning and perfect for our small wedding reception. We received many compliments and suggestions to book the property again for future anniversaries. The property managers were super sweet and easy to reach if we had any issues. Not a single complaint.
We had a blast here. Lovely house, grounds, and pool. Be sure to visit the wineries in the area. Would come back in a heartbeat (and we're planning on it)!
We had an amazing time in this big, beautiful hill country home!!! The house was lovely, with gorgeous decor and all the appliances were all top notch. Actually, everything in this house, down to the finest detail was top notch! There were eight of us and we had a wonderful time just relaxing and enjoying the spacious back porch and outdoor scenery. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful to me!!! I am embarrassed to say that before going into downtown Wimberly, I stuck a wad of cash in the bedside drawer for safekeeping. When I got back to my home in Corpus Christi, I woke up the next morning and realized I had left the money in the drawer! OMG!!! I called Lee Anne and right away her husband drove thirty miles from their home and to the rental in Wimberly to check for the cash. I was very lucky to learn that the money was still there ($450!). Lee Anne called to let me know and sent me a replacement check the very next day! These are honest people folks! You can trust them to do the right thing. Very professional and very, very kind!!! I can't thank them enough and I highly recommend staying in this fantastic hill country home!!!
We wanted something a little bit more than a hotel room following a family visit to see the Texan Grand Prix and although there was only 3 of us Windmill Run fitted the bill. Away from the hustle and bustle of Austin in the heart of Austin Hill country you couldn't find a better location. On our first evening we sat on the porch watching cows graze in the front garden and the following evening it was deer with the only noise the chirping of the crickets. Plenty to do within 40 minutes drive or just stop at the house and enjoy the lovely pool area. Lacked a couple of pool chairs if you wanted to enjoy the sun and the unheated pool was a shock first up but we soon got used to it.
The bikes were a nice addition with plenty of quiet roads around the house for a pleasant early morning cycle but the hill back up from the river was a bit if a lung buster but the ride down and the lovely river were worth it. Overall something for everyone. Would recommend Hays City Store and Salt Lick BBQ for an experience of Texas food.
A quick review of the house: This place is very spacious and was clearly built for someone to live in permanently due to the structural and construction details. There are also great amenities. The photos do not accurately represent this house - it is much better in person. Our party included elderly (70's) parents and babies (2yrs and 7 months) and 3 adults, and everyone was very pleased. The pool and fenced in yard kept the kids and pets occupied while the back patio grill, mini fridge, patio furniture and tv kept the adults occupied. Enough pots and pans and cooking utensils to cook basic meals but if you're wanting gourmet you may want to bring your own. Our coffee pot was broken so we bought one in town and let Vacasa know. We simply emailed a photo of the receipt and they reimbursed us. Also, this house has 2 A/C units for the roughly 2600 square feet. One for the kitchen, living and one for the 4 bedrooms all located down the same hall. When we arrived, all the bedrooms were hot. It ended up the A/C had a freon leak and ultimately needed to be replaced. Vacasa's local manager, LeeAnn, did a fantastic job and worked with us to possibly move to another location. This ended up not being an option so Vacasa was willing to compensate us for the issue. The entire Vacasa team did a great job - they took an unforeseen problem and turned it into a positive experience. Very impressive for a presumably larger national organization. I always felt like I was talking to or dealing with a local person. The bedrooms were quite warm at night but overall it was bearable because there was another A/C unit. Overall, this was a good experience and Vacasa as well as the local manager, LeeAnn, treated us fairly, respectfully and with sympathy. That's all you can ask for in situations like this.
We truly enjoyed our weekend experience at this location and are in the works of planning more stays in the near future!
We loved how clean the home was and how quiet the location was. We had the best time relaxing underneath the stars, grilling out during the day and having an escape from big city life with out family.
This is probably the fancy $500k home you can’t afford but always wanted to – or at least it was for me.
It’s a smart home with ton of room and beautiful on the inside. It’s absolutely a getaway and can house
a large number of people for sleep or for dinner.
If you are like me you read all the other reviews. There is one that mentions scorpions like you should
expect to be stung by scorpions because after all it is the country. I let this review get in my head. As a
momma of 5 and 3 of us being deathly allergic to insect stings I didn’t sleep the first night. I stayed up as
a watchdog looking for this impending doom. I took apart all the beds down to the bed frames and
checked every inch of the floors, furniture, nooks and crannies. And I did indeed find two scorpions! The
one I found inside was very dead, old dead. By a window where it had inevitably faced its doom at the
hands of the pesticide barrior put around the house. I also found one outside, OUTSIDE where I expect
them to be. I have to say I kind of feel like I wastes my money this week because I couldn’t relax and
enjoy this gorgeous home that’s perfectly safe because of this fear. You know what’s impressive; the
manager took my call early the next morning and walked me through the event that generated the
scorpion review. One had crawled in a crack in the pipe they had sealed and had the house inspected for
any other cracks. Also there are a crazy amount of scorpion traps around this house to make sure IF one
get s in it gets caught. You know how many were in the traps ZERO. So if I can save you the ridiculous
unnecessary stress of worrying about scorpions please let me. This is the same as your house, the
exterminator comes every month, and I know he really does because I found two dead little spiders in
the window seals so obviously it’s working.
If you have a fear it should be how you will go home to a smaller house, no huge kitchen, no smart
shower, or whirlpool bath (long enough for an actual adult unlike mine) and an office space that is
soundproofed. Somewhere in this home were two screaming 3 year olds but I couldn’t hear it on a
Overall this was an amazing , safe, relaxing amazing home in the middle of Texas, where the country is
beautiful and there were more cicadas and June bugs than anything else (and ALL outside). PS there was
a momma and two fawns as well, just gorgeous!
Our large family with three small children stayed four wonderful days here and had a blast! The outdoor patio and pool area was our favorite place to hang out, and the house had plenty of room for us all. Definitely coming back here next year!
We absolutely loved this house and the pool. We had 5 couples in from various parts of the State. It was well outfitted and easy to rent and travel to. We would love to stay here again in the future!
Great house and great location. Beautiful area and quiet.
If you are looking for a place for a family gathering, 1211 Windmill Run is the place to stay. The home is large enough and offers something for all ages. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Our family of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) spent a week here to celebrate our parents' 50th anniversary. What a beautiful, relaxing spot! We spent most of our time playing in the pool and relaxing inside and out, watching deer and cows come by, and enjoying the birdsong. The house is well-stocked with most things we wanted -- thank you!
This home is absolutely beautiful and has lots to offer. I loved the space, quietness of the land, watching the deer walking on the property and all the amenities it had to offer. If I was given the opportunity I would purchase the home. Understand that this home is in the country and you might see a scorpion. We quickly found out scorpions are very common in that area, and their sting really burns. We recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice upscale vacation home. We will be back to rent again in the future. Thank you!
This was our family's second time using a vacation rental. This property was amazing! As we approached the house there was a deer waiting in the front yard to greet us. The house itself was beautiful, big and welcoming. It had three good sized bedrooms, as well as, a huge master. The kids enjoyed themselves and stayed in the pool the entire weekend (be sure to bring your own beach towels). Our only regret was not bringing our dog. The house is very pet friendly and obviously the owners are dog lovers.
We planned a short trip with my parents and sister's family. We had 6 adults and 4 kids in our group. The house had so much room and was so very comfortable. The kids spent most of the time in the pool but they also loved hanging out in the house and watching for deer.
The home had everything we needed, including a Keurig and traditional coffee pot.
Our family had a wonderful time at your beautiful property. The kids loved seeing cows and deer on the property! We will definitely be back. Thank you for an enjoyable getaway.
My wife, our two young children, and two dogs totally enjoyed this property! First, we loved the layout of this home -- an open floor plan with a large kitchen, several bathrooms, and ample beds. We also enjoyed its many amenities, which included a swimming pool, covered patio, multimedia options, and a garage. Moreover, this property was secluded and relaxing. It allowed us to unwind and enjoy a country setting (complete with several deer and cows), while also being able to visit nearby locations like Austin, New Braunfels, and Gruene. We loved our weekend getaway and we would love to return in the future!
The house is wonderful and the property is gorgeous. Definitely worth staying here and would recommend visiting for family trips or getaways.
Our group of 7 really enjoyed staying in this wonderful home. Thank you for a great weekend!
Eight ladies stayed for 4 days. It was a beautiful house, had all the amenities we needed, the pool was great and the weather cooperated for it's use. Our only complaint was the master bedroom was the only one with a decent size bed. Bunk room would be ok for kids, but the other two rooms really need queen or king beds, not full size.
Great place we plan on coming back
Our group really enjoyed the beautiful, top-of-the-line home. Every appliance, piece of furniture, and fixture was very nice. The beds and bathrooms were incredible. We loved the yard, patio, and pool as well. More than most vacation rentals, this one really felt like home.
Great place enjoyed the peace and quiet
The property was pretty much as advertised with no surprises. The property easily accommodated our family of 6.
We decided to stay in hill country to celebrate Easter & we are so glad we chose this home. It was perfect! This house has the perfect layout to entertain. The entire family enjoyed all the wonderful amenities; outdoor TV, surround sound, pool & bike riding. Thank you for sharing your home, we made wonderful memories!
The Nelson family
My wife and I, and 2 other couples stayed for two nights. property is secluded and peaceful. we loved sitting on the back patio in the mornings drinking coffee. The kitchen is stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!
