Oceanview home w/ hot tub - close to town & 4 blocks from the beach!
Bring the family together at this oceanview Yachats home for eight. Enjoy plenty of room to let the kids play in and around the home, while having a lovely space to gather the family for meals and a private hot tub, too!
Set on the south edge of Yachats, this home is private and serene while still being close to local attractions. And the real reason you've come to the coast (the beach, of course!) is just four blocks away!. Walk down to the shore to beachcomb, watch the waves crash against the shore, and let the kids chase the seagulls.
Casual and roomy, you'll feel right at home in this oceanview house among the casual furnishings and decor.
Gather the group in the living room to catch up, plan for the day's activities, or to have a movie night on the flatscreen TV. A DVD/VHS payer is attached to the TV, and movies and 200 cable channels are even provided! There's also WiFi available, if you need to keep up on emails.
If you don't feel like watching a movie, grab a small group to play games at the dining room table for eight, or step into the enchanting sun room to take in ocean views while sipping a cup of tea. Or take some time for a luxurious soak in the private hot tub.
Boasting everything needed to whip up full meals, the tasteful kitchen makes vacation life even easier. Bring along or shop for groceries in town to enjoy budget-friendly and delicious meals. Along with major appliances you'll have a microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, waffle iron, toaster, and more.
The master bedroom is located on the top floor and houses a plush queen-size bed and sits next to a full bathroom for convenience.
Head downstairs to find three more sleeping areas that will spoil each guest. The main room downstairs doubles as a place to relax while reading a book and watching a show on the TV, as well as a room for those using the queen-size bed by the window. Through the hallway is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo in between two nice bedrooms, one featuring a king-size bed and the other with a full bed.
Up to eight family members or friends can sleep well here among the four comfortable beds.
Explore the tide pools, build sand castles, or even sunbathe on those rare sunny days. If you're here in the winter, look for whales passing by just off the shore. Take a day or two to discover why so many love Yachats. Have breakfast at The Drift Inn, or stop in for dinner and live music. Before heading out for a day of adventures, grab a coffee from The Green Salmon Coffee Shop. Visit Cape Perpetua Scenic Area located a few miles south for some incredible hiking. Drive down Highway 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse, or head north to Newport for more shopping, dining, and attractions.

Being so near the ocean was wonderful. It’s just a quick walk to the beach and the Amanda trail. Easy bike to town. House was very comfortable.
We rented this home for the weekend to celebrate our son in law's birthday. It worked out well for the amount of people we had and having a private quieter place for us downstairs was perfect!
Overall had a great experince with my friends. The house was very large and suited our needs. The town has great people and tasting food. Lots of places to view the ocean as well.
The only things I can say for constructive criticism is the deck on the steps could use some grip, I had nearly slipped down them the first night and maybe put a larger tv up stairs. Other than that it was great!
This was a fabulous place to stay. Very comfortable beds and lots of space for the family. Perfect location to visit numerous Oregon coast attractions. I highly recommend!
The home was very nice. Need to do a few things to make it better. There is a throw rug in front of kitchen sink. It is a slip and fall hazard remove it or get non slip rugs.
The bed spreads need to be switched out bedroom upstairs. It is all torn out on side looks tacky. And last need to have heavy duty trash bags for kitchen. And black garbage bags and instructions on how to open the garbage can outside. Oh rugs need to be cleaned.
Beside that had a fabulous time and next year coming again but closer to water and one level. I am disabled so I need everything on one floor.
Again thank you fabulous time
The owner has done some updating since this review and has planned more to come. We have also provided instructions on how to open the garbage can. Thank you!
I liked the location - right across Hwy 101 from the Ocean Road, which has beach accesses and is very scenic. A bit of a walk downtown, but perfect for after-meal strolls and dessert justification.
We enjoyed our stay very Much! Not quite S close to a beach as expected. The nearest sandy beach was about 10 minutes drive away. But it was well worth it!
The house is comfortable. The beds are amazing (I like soft beds). There was plenty of linens, and enough pots and pans to be able to cook.
There are many sizes and types of beds, in different rooms, so everyone had their own space. Having 2 different living areas was nice. We put the kids downstairs, to watch TV while we cooked dinner. peaceful!
If you are going for the 4th of July, you can watch fireworks from the deck.
And the hot tub was nice. It is small, but 3-4 people can fit.
It was a nice time. The bathroom heaters did not work and not enough hot water for showers. When we arrived, we saw the lockbox keypad by the lower level door, not knowing there was also one on the upper level door, so we wasted some time trying to get it open and calling for assistance. Maybe on the confirmation you should state that the keypad for entry is on the upper level door. There was a plastic container of bacon grease (?) on the counter and when we took the lid off it stunk. I wanted to throw the whole thing away, but left it since it was there when we arrived. I left a note about this. Otherwise, it was fine.
We are glad this guest had a nice stay despite a few hiccups. Instructions for using the keypad are provided in check-in instructions, and the grease has been discarded by housekeeping. Maintenance will repair the heaters very soon. Thank you!
The house was so comfortable and welcoming! We enjoyed ourselves so very much. We will never stay in a hotel again, if a Vacasa home is available.
This home is a lot bigger than pictured. Lots of space to relax in. Large kitchen too. Having 2 bathrooms is a plus. It was cleaned decently, could be improved. Just Dust mostly. The house is baseboard heating throughout, so expect some time for it to warm up, since it wasn't turned on for us before we arrived. If you find that the downstairs heat is not turning on, check the electric panel down there, the switch was turned off. Be sure to check your beds before getting in, one bed was full of sand and bedding had to be changed, but check that extra bedding too, cause that too was full of sand. Likely from a previous renter taking blankets to the beach. There are plenty of games, and a nice amount of vidoes to choose from. The wifi works Great! They also have Satellite T.V. and we were able to watch the civil war football game, which was a lot of fun. One thing to be aware of, there is a sump pump directly in the same room with the king size bed. Likely not an issue during the summer, but during Rainy weather, it was going on every 20 minutes day and night. We aren't picky so we just dealt with it, but its not mentioned in the description of the home. The home is in a great location to see cape perpetua, maybe no more than 5 minutes away. Also very close to town and shops, also about 5 minutes away. There is a Hot tub, but be aware, there isn't any sort of protection from the rain, so trying to be in the hot tub to relax, you'll be getting rained on at the same time. Not much for privacy either in my opinion. Bring extra trash bags and dish soap if you are planning on staying more than just a weekend. We would definitely stay here again, you cant go wrong with the price per night. And we liked the fact we could check out late (7pm) for a very small fee. Some improvements yes, but overall a Great comfortable home.
House was perfect for our little family reunion. Weather was stormy so we fully took advantage of the kitchen and games.
I was somewhat disappointed in this property.
We really enjoyed staying in the Blue Jean Cottage. We had ages 12 to 68 staying, and everyone enjoyed the stay. The house is quite close to the beach, the walk to the beach is very nice once you get across the highway. The beds were pretty comfortable, though not at all firm enough for those with back problems. The kids had fun exploring the different parts of the house; the game cupboard, the writing desk, and the sunroom were their favorites. We all felt very much at home in the house and had a great time visiting with each other and exploring the area. We cooked quite a few meals in the kitchen, the frying pans were not in good shape, but we were able to manage with the rest of the cooking gear. The WiFi works well enough for streaming. The cupboards in each bedroom have many extra quilts and blankets. Most windows do not have screens, but we found a couple downstairs in the great room, and a couple upstairs in the dining room, and opening these windows freshened things up a bit. Overall, we really liked the house, we had a wonderful time there and hope to go back again sometime.
Blue Jeans was an excellent place to stay...The home has an old time charm to it...Could use some updated furniture , new sheet sets etc...We loved the location and the home was just right for our small group....I would definitely come back...
Great rate and well worth the money. Nice house, easy to find. Good view.
We had five adults, a 9yr old and a 1yr old staying there with plenty of room. The short walk to the beach was lovely! Tide pools at low tide were very impressive if you knew how to reach them. The actual sandy beaches were a bit further of a walk but we loved the view of the ocean from the house. The only real downside was the lack of cell service, but if you want to "get away from it all", it's perfect! (Plus there's wifi, so it's not exactly a real problem!)
The Yachats Blue Jean Cottage is a "fine" place to stay. Reasonably clean and comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked for cooking meals in-house. Bathrooms were clean. However, we felt that the photos and description of the "ocean view" were misleading. There is nothing to indicate that the ocean view shown in the photos is really the view from down the block. The "view" from the house, porch - is sort of a corner view.... ALSO - "steps across the street" to beach is misleading. The "street" is HIGHWAY 101. Nothing describes this. And the walk to beach is not bad, but it is three or four blocks and you have to cross the highway (not "steps across the street"). This would be especially concerning if you are bringing kids along, which we weren't. The description makes it sound like you walk out the front door, walk across (a municipal) street, and you are at the beach. Not quite so. The place was fine, but nothing more.
We were frustrated that the description was not accurate. We expected that we would have the view shown in the pictures and we did NOT expect that we were right on Hwy. 101 - which also had some (not bad) noise to consider.
The bed in the master bedroom was VERY soft. The "topper" on the mattress gives it a "pillow top" effect - which is nice, but the mattress below it offers little support - it must be very old and worn out. It's bouncy and mushy. I can't speak to the other beds in the house - as I didn't speak about my traveling partner's comfort with her bed. I couldn't get the cable to work in master bedroom - but that very well could have been "operator error." Furniture throughout is fine - but worn. Place is clean. It's fine to stay there - nothing horrible - but we won't go there again mostly because we felt that the description was misleading and we were disappointed with the reality.
We are sorry to see that this guest found some things to be misleading on the description. The ocean view photos for this home were taken in the home's yard (though some photos indoors do show a little view through the windows), but the home is about 4-5 blocks across Hwy 101. We have asked that this information be corrected on the home's description.
The cabin is generously sized, comfortably furnished, and has a view of the ocean from the living room. No screens on the windows created some challenges but the stay was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Yachats, particularly with a larger group. The cabin has 4 bedrooms which slept 5 of us comfortably, an efficient kitchen, and was clean and check in ready.
We stayed at "Blue Jean Cottage" for 12 days - 2 weeks of work during the day and enjoying the area during the evenings and weekends.
We felt like we were part of the family visiting the vacation home.
Lots of clean towels and a well-stocked kitchen.
Comfortable couch and lounge chairs.
Great location for evening strolls at the beach across Hwy. 101. With waves crashing on the lava flows at Agate Point and access to the beach at the mouth of the river. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets.
Some noise from the highway, but not so much that it interrupted our activities or sleep. We could still hear the ocean.
Just a few miles south are many beaches and hikes. We walked the Hobbit Trail, hiked to Heceta Lighthouse, watched Thor's Well, and collected shells at Bob Creek Wayside.
The Internet worked great! Very important for work.
Thanks. We enjoyed it!
