Enjoy views of the majestic Pacific Ocean from your living room and deck at this lovely Cayucos beach house, a two-bedroom retreat that offers an outdoor firepit, a fleet of bicycles, and direct access to a sandy beach right across the street.

This comfortable home occupies the second floor of a duplex, and sits just two miles south of downtown Cayucos, Cayucos State Beach, and the newly restored Cayucos Pier. This beloved surfing community is also only four miles north of Morro Bay, 12 miles from the beautiful trails of Montaña de Oro State Park, and 25 miles from the legendary Hearst Castle.

You can rent this home for six on its own, or together with the unit below for a total of eight guests. If you're curious about the possibilities, get in touch with Vacasa!

No matter if you're a sunbather, a surfer, an angler, or a hiker, this home is ideal for two couples or a small family in search of sunshine, fantastic waves, and the stunning natural beauty of the Central California Coast.

With large windows that face the Pacific Ocean, the open living room features an abundance of natural light and views that reach all the way to Morro Rock. Take an afternoon nap on the plush sofa, use the WiFi to monitor surfing conditions, challenge your kids to a heated game of Scrabble, or choose from dozens of VHS and DVD movies to watch on the cable TV.

The kitchen is full of vintage charm, with black and white patterned floors and speckled avocado tiles. Flip pancakes each morning over the gas stove, blend fresh fruit smoothies before hitting the beach, and simply walk out the door as the dishwasher takes care of the clean-up.

You'll find hardwood floors and a dinner table for four in the open dining room, as well as a small wrought iron table that offers additional seating. But don't forget about the ground-level outdoor patio with a charcoal grill, picnic tables, and a firepit - perfect for roasting marshmallows on cool coastal evenings.

Begin each day with a 50-foot stroll to the beach access point, or take one of the four adult-size bicycles for a leisurely ride into downtown Cayucos. Just be home in time for the sunset, which is best enjoyed with wine or dessert on the private ocean-facing deck.

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home will comfortably accommodate as many as six people. The master suite features a king-size bed, shelves full of books for your reading pleasure, and a full bathroom with a stall shower. The guest room offers a comfortable double bed, while the second full bathroom has a tiled tub and shower. A sofabed in the living room provides additional sleeping space.

This place was priced just right for a house not on the sand but just across the street. The location is ideal if you want to stay in a place where you can easily walk down to the beach with your kids or go surf at Studios.

We loved the beautiful ocean view and proximity to the coast! However, the electrical outlets in both bathrooms don’t work, and some don’t work in the front rooms. We contacted VACASA and they had the electricians come out, but they were unable to fix the problem DURING OUR 6 DAYS! The electrician said the house had many wires that were burnt out that needed to be replaced, and they needed to come back another time.

The house has no AC unit, and gets hot at night. Floor fans were brought out. We also contacted VACASA about the appearance and use of the outside shared patio and bbq which was a mess.
Manager Response:
We are very sorry to read this review as we thought we had addressed everything. The unit is listed without air conditioning being advertised. The property manager immediately went and purchased a fan for this guest when they mentioned their discomfort. The patio needed some cleaning, and we sent someone over there the following day to take care of it. There is little we can do immediately with the electricity in the two bathrooms. We did our best during this reservation by sending an electrician out. The issue has been addressed with temporary fixes while the internal issues are being scheduled and planned. Thanks!

Everything. Great house and GREAT location.

Great place for vacation

This upper level 2 BR /2 Bath is in a great location. It's also very clean for an older partial home. Partial meaning only the upper level is what you get, not the whole house. The beach access is right across the street which is very convenient .

Loved our stay. Beach access right there. Everything you need is there. Loved the gift bag. Near to both cities of Cayucos and Morro Bay.
LETICIA R. Feb 2018
View was great, if you could get parking., went f I r a peaceful weekend, but had a backhoe making noise the entire time. Not, a happy customer. Sorry.
Manager Response:
We are so sorry the neighbor decided to re-do his whole front yard without notifying us. We understand how frustrating this must have been, and we wished this guest would have phoned us so we could have worked with the neighbor on their behalf. We hope they enjoyed the beach and wonderful weather while here.

View from 2nd floor deck or livingroom is obstructed by houses across street. Still see the ocean, hard to see surfing or the surf and waves. But you can hear the beach just fine. Freeway is in back yard so does not carry to front where the focus is. An expensive location to be just mediocre and have horrible bathrooms.
Launa N. Jan 2018
The beach is just a few steps across the street where the sunsets & sunrises can be enjoyed. However you can also watch from the deck.

The location is terrific! I stayed in the downstairs unit. Our friends were in the upstairs unit. The apartment is older and has very thin walls. The unit was not very clean. In fact I cleaned the refrigerator before loading my groceries. The upstairs unit has a useless pull out couch with no blanket available. Glad I brought my bedding. I suggest extra bedding and a blanket . Also the coffee maker is broken in the downstairs apartment. The downstairs heater is controlled by the upstairs apartment, so I am thankful we all agreed on the temperature. However if upstairs was not rented or unfriendly, it would have been a real issue.
The downstairs unit was overpriced for the lack of conveniences, cleanliness, and quality.
The location is wonderful

The home was just as promised and pictured. It was very nice to be so close to the beach. We didn't need any assistance during our stay but we were sent an email upon our arrival with contact info in case we needed it. We received an email the day before that we could arrive early at no additional charge, which was a nice surprise. Although we didn't need a late check out, we did receive a message that we could stay until 7pm on our final day for a very small charge. It was the perfect weekend getaway for us. We hope to stay here again soon!

My cousin and I enjoyed a few days at the house. It was very clean & comfortable. The only drawback was that it was too far south of town to walk to the downtown area. Other than that we had a good stay. We also enjoyed the vast collection of VHS tapes! LOL

it wasn`t new but well kept. location was awesome. we are already planing a trip for next year
Patrick S. Aug 2017
Good place clean convenient.
Sandra E. Aug 2017
I would stay here again if the front windows were replaced so we could enjoy the view and also the hole filled screens. And the carpets cleaned. They were pretty dirty. The furnishings were extremely comfy though 😊

The location of this house is ideal. It's directly across from the stairs to the beach and the views from the living room are beautiful. The living room is roomy and bright and the house is generally comfortable. It is in need of some updating and repairs, but none were serious. The bed in the pullout sofa in the living room is really uncomfortable so you may not want to inflict anyone with a night sleeping on it. In reality, the house comfortably sleeps four, maybe 5, so don't bring 6 people. Also, there is a lot of freeway noise, so be prepared for that if you're in the bedrooms with the windows open. Be aware there is a lower unit that rents separately, and if the people down there are noisy, they can clearly be heard upstairs. Overall a nice stay.
Linda B. Jul 2017
Easy access to beach. Can walk the beach to Morro Rock or Cayucos.
The pullout bed in the living room is a little "dicey."
Sandra W. Jul 2017
This place has a good location, beach access good, parking adequate. Needs a lot of work. Front windows so bad the view is wasted, screens bent and full of holes, where present at all. Hall bath shower needs repair, bed in second bedroom like a brick, a small brick. Furniture broken down etc... really needs some attention before I would pay the price again.
Tamara L. Jun 2017
This was a bright, wonderful place: a perfect beach house. One caveat, however, is that the ad says there are four adult bikes, when in fact there are 3 completely defunct bikes. The tires are totally flat and there is no bike pump. We were really looking forward to using these. They should not be advertised unless they are useable. Also, the refrigerator light was out and one of the lamps in the master was out. You should check for these kind of things.
Manager Response:
We apologize for the disappointment experienced with the bikes. They have been removed as an amenity. Thank you!
Dennis H. Jun 2017
A simple setting. Close to beach. Enjoyable. Will return
David W. May 2017
Beach access right across the street. Morro Bay and The little town of Cayucos are within minutes of the property. We spent an afternoon in Cambria that's probably 20 minutes away. We'd definitely stay here again.
K S. May 2017
We had an issue the first night with the owners son having his band practicing in the garage under our bedrooms. They were very receptive to stopping when we asked about 10:10pm but I feel this should not have happened. We had one guest wanting to go to bed at 9:30 but was unable. No problems at all the second day and we enjoyed our stay. Nice place very clean. Beautiful view and easy beach access. Unfortunate about the Friday night issue.
Manager Response:
The owner has assured us this situation will not occur again. Thank you!
Holly V. Apr 2017
We loved being right across the street from the beach, and the amazing views from the living room and deck. The place was very clean, with nice bedding and towels. There was noise from highway 1, but it didn't bother us. Perhaps we just tuned into the beautiful sound of the waves instead!
Morgan U. Mar 2017
We were meeting two friends from Southern California and this was a halfway point. Cayucos was a great little town that had easy access to the beach and fun little shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again for the location, view etc.

Perfect weekend getaway!
Dixie S. Mar 2017
This home is a good size for 3 or 4 adults. The guest room is inadequately furnished; be prepared to live out of your suitcase which will be on the floor. Take your own clothes hangers.
The view is lovely, but the windows were dirty and picture windows had moisture/fog between the dual-panes, making the view less visible. We tried cleaning the windows, but to no avail.
Cleanliness was lacking: dirty kitchen utensils, unusable teapot, dirty bandaid on master bedroom floor, sticky food on carpet (we had to clean all this stuff; the teapot was a lost cause.)
The entry instructions weren't clear; it took a while to figure them out. And be careful of the stairs: they can be slippery when wet.
The unit is nicely laid out and well located; if it were clean, we would consider recommending it to others and/or renting again.
Manager Response:
We apologize for the inconveniences this guest experienced during their time in the home. The Property Manager has purchased hangers and other niceties for guest use. The windows have recently become a problem, but we are looking into replacing them soon.

My stay was very pleasant, peaceful, and I love to keep the window open at night and hear the waves it was so soothing. And I'll be back in April for my birthday!!!!
Tanya B. Jan 2017
Molly, the local Manager was just amazing! She made herself available to us 24/7 and answered all our questions right away! She was also helpful with giving instruction on where things were located. It would have been nice to have a user manual for VCR, where bikes are stored, games, etc.
The little apartment/condo was cute but is dated in some areas. Pictures are pretty accurate- access to the beach is across the street and it's maybe 50 feet away. The noise to the HWY didn't bother us at all- maybe we were there when there was less traffic. The only thing that I found to be a little annoying were the surfers who parked right in front of the condo. (we had 4 people and 3 cars- so we needed that space in front ) No one was disrespectful- just annoying. However that is beach life and they are so nice... you can't really get mad! LOL I would stay here again- super easy access and Molly is awesome!
Kathy M. Jan 2017
Everything was outstanding! 5 star experience. Was the perfect place to spend Christmas with my family.
Leslie K. Dec 2016
VRBO photo is a little misleading, because the property is not on the same side of the street as the beach. There are nice ocean views from the upstairs unit, and there is a walking path to the beach between homes immediately across the street. Property is adjacent to Highway 1 and passing traffic is noisy in the bedrooms!
Minnette B. Nov 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Gina V. Nov 2016
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. The View and location are great and house is well-stocked with a spacious layout. So nice to see and hear the ocean from the family room and deck. Also nice that you just walk across the street and down the path to the beach and you were right there
Katherine W. Sep 2016
I was very happy with the property and the location but I wouldn't stay here again unless they got a new mattress for the other room. The full size bed was extremely uncomfortable and I didn't get much sleep.
Kristen T. Sep 2016
Great place, loved my stay!
Carey L. Aug 2016
Great Condo with a wonderful location. The view and the sounds of the ocean were enjoyed by all. Everything was clean. The kitchen was well stocked.
ESTELA G. Aug 2016
Our family enjoyed our stay here. It's clean and very comfortable. Fresh breeze and view in the living room was great. We enjoyed the beach; so relaxing. If you go to Cayucos pier go to Duckie's Chowder House for the clam chowder- it was delicious!
Ana F. Jul 2016
It was a perfect view and perfect distance just across from beach. Would go back in heart beat and hopefully will next year for our walk.
Mitch R. Jun 2016
We loved the view, the living room is very comfortable and relaxing. The property it is close to the beach and to Morrow Bay. We enjoyed this. The following issues occurred during our trip:

1. Front door lock did not work and we could not get in the house. I left 4 messages on both numbers that were provided and never got a call back. Thankfully, the neighbors were home and I got the direct line to the operations manager who gave us the “maid” code. They changed the lock the next day.
2. The bedside lamp in the master bedroom does not work…even after changing the lightbulb
3. The closet door came off the rack
4. The dishwasher leaked water
5. The VCR selection was great, but the video did not work. It took 36 hours for the operations manager to buy and provide the correct cable
6. The house smells of mildew and to be cleaned to get rid of the constant musty smell. We live by the beach and our personal residence does not smell that way so maybe it needs either a fresh coat of paint, new carpet and/or mildew removal etc. We had to use air freshener constantly
7. The freeway is very noisy. We saw that review a few days before we were leaving and it was too late to make changes to our plans and to the reservation we had booked several months ago
Manager Response:
We are sorry to see that this guest was not more happy with their stay. The Property Manager assisted this guest several times during their stay with these issues, and any issues that could not be addressed during the stay were taken care of as promptly as possible afterwards.
Henry B. Jun 2016
As everyone says entry for the first time can be tricky because the 5 is sticky on the keypad. This being said everything was very nice, large patio for outdoor grilling and relaxing. Public beach access right at the end of the driveway, it doesnt get much better than that.
Stephanie G. Jun 2016
Close to the beach and all Central coast sites. A well appointed kitchen, good beds and water pressure. Nice coastal view and beach access just across the street.
Charuti S. Jun 2016
We had great time at the condo. Very clean and right across the street from the beach. It's also in middle of Morro bay and Cayucos town. Highly recommend.
Carol S. May 2016
We just loved this condo! The pictures do not do it justice! It is roomy, clean and the view is wonderful! The homeowners supply everything you need for a stress free vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking essentials you need. Basic condiments are provided as well. Extra plush towels and bedding are available. The walkway to the beach is literally across the small street, and the beach itself is wonderful with opportunities for shelling, sunbathing and watching the surfers brave the cold water! Morro Bay is only 5 minutes away for restaurants and shopping. We visited Hearst Castle and the elephant seal reserve located about 1/2 hour north. We also stopped at some of the numerous wine tasting opportunities and came home with some nice coastal wines. All in all it was a great vacation spot and we can't wait to return! Only negative was the coded door lock. We had a hard time making the darn thing work. Tip1: key pad on the door is the one to use, not the keypad located next to the door. Tip2: the "5" sticks so make sure it is programmed in correctly. Tip3:make sure the keypad glows blue before you type in the code. To lock it you need to push the button and wait for it to turn blue before turning the dead bolt. Hopefully the owners will include better instructions!
Stacey K. Apr 2016
This property has a wonderful location across from Cayucos beach. Easy to find, convenient to everything: beach, Morro Bay, wineries. The highway noise is unbearable all night if you don't take ear plugs. Everything else was terrific and would stay again.
Tammy Y. Apr 2016
Loved our stay. Thank you
