Picture-perfect lakefront cottage w/ a shared tennis court & dock!

Escape to a simpler time when you stay at this lakefront Grand Isle vacation home, a vintage summer cottage with a lovely front porch, a shared clay tennis court, and direct access to a beach and dock on the shores of Lake Champlain.

Perched at the water's edge, this two-bedroom cabin faces westward to enjoy gorgeous sunset views over the lake. And although it is wonderfully secluded away from the road, this historic family compound is just five miles from Grand Isle State Park and only eight miles north of White's Beach in South Hero.

Built in 1911, Vancie's Cottage also enjoys access to the property's dock, moorings, tennis court, and lakefront gazebo - the perfect place for a family vacation or a summer getaway with friends.

Cozy and rustic, the single-level interior features exposed wood beams, vintage furnishings, and a wood-burning stove to enhance the bucolic atmosphere. Yet this space has also been updated with modern conveniences, including WiFi, Apple TV, and Netflix streaming capability.

With pine cabinetry and open shelving, the full kitchen has plenty of old-fashioned charm. Pick up some local produce from the Champlain Islands Farmers Market and blend fresh fruit smoothies each morning; you'll also have modern appliances and an outdoor gas grill to assist with dinner.

After a long, leisurely meal around the dining room table, open a bottle of wine, take a seat in an Adirondack chair, and watch the sunset from the lakefront porch. And if the night air gets too chilly, move back inside to curl up with a book or browse through a selection of games for all ages.

On each pristine summer day, you'll be only steps from a beach on Lake Champlain, perfect for swimming, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding. You'll find moorings at the dock if you choose to bring your own boat, as well as tennis rackets for practicing your forehand on the shared clay court.

With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, Vancie's Cottage will sleep as many as six guests. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the guest room offers a twin bed and a set of twin-over-full bunks. And there's no need to worry about overpacking your suitcase - you'll find a private washer/dryer as well.

Known and loved for its small-town feel and serene landscapes, Grand Isle is a place to reconnect with your loved ones and with the great outdoors. Spend a day (or several) in the 226-acre expanse of Grand Isle State Park, where you'll find sand volleyball courts, boat rentals, and more than 4,000-feet of shoreline.

And as you make your way home from the stunning stretch of White's Beach in South Hero, don't forget to stop at the Snow Farm Vineyard, the oldest vineyard and winery in the state of Vermont.

Your peaceful and relaxing New England getaway begins today - don't miss out on this Lake Champlain Islands home!

We are former Vermonters that have stayed in many camps/homes along Lake Champlain. This is easily one of the best we have ever been to. The camp itself is exactly what you'd expect in a camp - some bugs, small kitchen and not the greatest water pressure. However, there is so much to like about the outside of the camp, that it would be hard to feel anything but lucky that you found this place. It's private around you, the area is perfect for swimming, the views are incredible, the rocks are easy to walk on and the grass along the water is perfect for playing lawn games and socializing. It's really ideal. Unless you desire a home that is more modern and can hold a larger amount of people, don't pass this place up. You won't be disappointed.

We had a magical experience here with our 6-year-old daughter: skipping stones (5 jumps!) off the rocks, gooey twilight s’mores, tennis practice in the breezy mornings, purple-pink-orange sunsets at night, grilling farm fresh & lakeside, plein air puzzles on the balcony, scent of wild thyme in the yard, snap of the flag ropes and smash of the tides, shells stones & flowers, white bright moon and stars!!!! Love love and more love.

Booked this home for a girls weekend/bachelorette weekend and we were SO happy. The grounds were even more beautiful than we imagined. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The home was clean and just what we needed. Waking up every morning to that stunning view was incredible. I will definitely bring my family here for a summer getaway!

This place was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Our goal was to get some R&R and that wish was fulfiled. We enjoyed grilling while watching the sunset. The tennis court was a great bonus. It was great having air conditioning but because the walls didn't have any insulantion it couldn't keep the rooms cool in the afternoon. But we opened all the windows and had a nice breeze. I have fibromyalgia and so the comfort of the bed is very important to us. I cannot complaint. The bed was very comfortable. The location was fantastic and we highly recommend this home. We would definately come back.

Very good place to rent if looking for that Adirondacks cottage feel. (Although I understand that Vt./Grand Isle is not officially part of the ADKs.) Well appointed and rustic at the same time. More local information regarding nearby stores, restaurants, etc. would be helpful and may soon be provided. Highly recommend.
