Near Walk On Beach w/private hot tub, shared pool, & ocean views, dogs OK!

Perfect for families or friends, this charming Sea Ranch home offers fantastic ocean views, easy beach access, and a hot tub for your next coastal escape! Groups of eight (dogs too) will feel right at home in this charming space, and will enjoy access to all of Sea Ranch and its unique charms.

The cozy oceanside getaway is located in Sea Ranch, about 50 miles south of Mendocino. You'll be close to Walk On Beach and about four miles from Gualala.

The home is perfect for large families or multiple groups. Vaulted wood ceilings and bay window seats fill the space with great natural lighting and composite flooring is perfect for pets. Social areas including the kitchen, dining room, and living room are located downstairs.

When not exploring the bluffs and ocean, your group will find a cozy retreat in the living room. Bring playing cards or board games for family entertainment around the large coffee table, or snuggle up on the sectional sofa for movie night on cable or DVD. A handsome stone fireplace and fantastic ocean views make the space intimate year round.

Pick up groceries at Surf Market in Gualala for a clam bake or fish tacos you can enjoy around the formal dining table for eight or outside on the ocean facing deck. Great natural lighting, a kitchen island, and modern appliances (including a dishwasher) will make meal prep a breeze for family chefs in the kitchen. When not whipping up a seafood feast, treat guests to a dinner out at Black Point Grill at the Sea Ranch Lodge.

This cozy Northern California vacation rental offers three bedrooms and two full baths. Eight guests are invited to share the space, choosing from two downstairs bedrooms with a king and queen bed. The upstairs bunk room is ideal for kids and provides one twin bunk bed and a double-size bed. Before tucking in for the night, drink hot chocolate on the deck listening to the sounds of the ocean or enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Beach towels will always stay fresh thanks to a washer/dryer!

The Sea Ranch offers plenty of opportunities to explore and Fido will love to join you! Two dogs are welcome! Bring your golf clubs for sunny days on the green at The Sea Ranch Golf Links, or pack comfy shoes to explore on-site walking trails and bluffs. Walk-On Beach, Tide Pool Beach and Shell Beach are just a short walk away.

The Sonoma and Mendocino coasts and beyond offer vast opportunities for hiking and mountain biking through unique terrain at Kruse Rhododendron State Reserve, Stewarts Point State Marine Conservation Area, and more.

In Gualala, you'll discover art galleries, bicycle rentals, and local eateries like St. Orres and Trinks Cafe & Bakery. Annapolis Winery is under 10 miles away for a picnic and afternoon wine tasting.

Whether curled up in a bay window watching the waves at home, or exploring the rugged coastline with your four-legged friend, you won't find a more beautiful or relaxing getaway than this Sea Ranch vacation home! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

The Samson Getaway has a wonderful layout allowing for coming together across the living, dining and kitchen areas. The view to the ocean and the soft sounds of the ocean waves provide a calming and peaceful influence. Wonderful place for a weekend away with family.

The setting is spectacular and the open layout of the house is very nice.
The washing machine, BBQ and several lights did not work. The water has an unpleasant taste and no filtration option was available and the kitchen had no blender and very few small bowls and plates. We were also visited by a racoon who pushed open a screen window and entered during the night.
After the fact a small (2"X2") note was found by one of the windows advising guests to shut all windows but none of this advice was in the quest book. With attention to these issues this home would be very nice.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you experienced these issues during your stay. They have been addressed with the local staff and we will see that they are attended too. We are pleased that we were able to process a refund for you for these issues. We hope to host you again soon.

We really enjoyed the large dining table we could all comfortably gather around for meals.
It was a very nice weekend!
Allegra W. Aug 2019
Another great stay at this house!
Janet S. Jul 2019
The house is very open with lots of windows for a great view of the Pacific.
Allegra W. Nov 2018
This house was perfect for our family weekend away. I loved how easy it was too access the bluff trail and beaches. The view was great, too.

Nothing. This was a total disappointment. It is a cavernous "party house" with weird bumpy floors, scratched and stained walls and furniture, outdated kitchen with cracked linoleum counter, poorly cleaned bathroom and living room, insufficient lighting. Do not stay here. We left 3 days early on a 5-day reservation.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see our guest was dissatisfied. There have been several improvements made to this home, and the pictures are an accurate representation of the home at this time. Thank you!

Outstanding place !

Home was spacious, clean. We had a medical emergency with a 6 mo old child at 11:00p, no one at vacasa or the gualala “med clinic” (closed) had any suggestions or helpful info. Luckily the child did not get worse forcing a 1-2 hr drive to Santa Rosa. Left the next am to home

It was private and cozy and we loved that we got to bring our dogs :) not as close to the beach as we would have liked to be, but it was a great place anyway. Thank you so much :)
Virginia V. Jul 2018
Spacious house with an open floor plan and amazing views! A short walk to Walk-on Beach and quick bike ride to One-Eyed Jack's. It worked well for our family.
Ken W. Jul 2018
View of ocean was very nice and deer visits every morning provided entertainment when the two fawns played while Mama grazed. The house was very well arranged for our needs. I would stay there again.
Natalia H. Jun 2018
It was the perfect size for our family!
Crystal D. May 2018
The openness of living area space.
Debra P. Mar 2018
The house has a great ocean view from the living room and master bedroom. It was a short walk to the stairs to the beach. It was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds could have been more comfortable and the master bath needs updated but all in all a good stay.
Alan B. Feb 2018
clean, lots of space in kitchen

Our family really liked this home. We would gladly come back. The hot tub was nice, the setting was perfect. We would highly recommend this home to others.
Cristina V. Dec 2017
House is in a great location and very spacious but cozy. Upstairs beds (room with 4 twin beds) are not comfortable but the other rooms were very comfortable. Otherwise a great place to stay with really responsive and helpful staff.
Anna S. Nov 2017
We loved our stay in Samson Getaway.
Stacy F. Oct 2017
The Folks in the office were very helpful and made sure we had a great experience. We will be sure to use you guys again!
Sally L. Oct 2017
The set-up of the home is great but needs updating and a good cleaning. Would stay again if some improvements are made.
Vickie M. Sep 2017
Awesome view for being back from coast and perfect location realative to Gualala. The house has a great floor plan with plenty of windows. Master has very comfy king bed.
Charles V. Aug 2017
We will go back to local rental agents.
Rebecca L. Jul 2017
This place is child- and pet-friendly, close to bluff trail and beaches, and to Gualala. Plus, furnishings are very comfortable, hot tub private and soothing...not luxurious, but definitely cozy! Friends, pooch and I would all stay again!
Adam M. May 2017
great house, but ants in the kitchen
Manager response:
After further inspection, the property manager didn't locate any ants. Considering the region, we will continue to monitor this issue. Thank you.

This house is a comfortable and lovely place to spend a long weekend. It is situated nicely towards the back of the meadow, and has great views. The house would comfortably sleep 8 people (4 twin bunk beds, a queen, and a king) and it has an ample "great room". While it is an older house, it has been pretty well maintained. While some updating could be done (older home = mildew smell, some window treatments in the master bedroom should be replaced) it was a perfect getaway for us.
The hot tub is a great place to begin/end the day, and the kitchen is a comfortable place to cook.
Marnie B. Apr 2017
Really quite, nice to get away and be out of tune with the world. Great beaches for the kids. Easy hikes, whale watching and bike riding.
Ward R. Mar 2017
Great house with lots of views of sea and nature. Hot tub awesome.
Nicole B. Mar 2017
Close to the beach and bluff - and with a forgiving composite floor - the Samson House is a good choice for groups that won't mind the somewhat worn bits of furniture and pots and pans. The house has a great room with comfortable window seats and a great big table for playing games and doing puzzles. A pleasant blue water view over a nice meadow that was filled with deer and birds. We enjoyed our week and so did our dog!
Molly D. Nov 2016
It was a great spot to see nature and spend time with family.
Tina W. Nov 2016
The house was great! It would have been nice to have a deck off the master bedroom, but I would stay there again
Tom K. Nov 2016
The home was beautiful, had everything we needed, and was wonderfully located a moment's walk from the Sea Ranch Bluff trail which leads to many incredible beaches, including our favorite, Shell Beach with dozens of seals!! The hot tub is a bit hidden, on a patio outside the second downstairs bedroom, rather than the ocean-view yard. We didn't have the views or sound of the crashing waves, but the stars are incredibly vibrant and endless and the location is very private.
Ann V. Oct 2016
Great location: easy walk to beach. Great layout: Kitchen dinning living area is large and great for hanging out. Bedrooms down the hall away from noise. Morning coffee each day we were greeted by a beautiful buck in the meadow. We would definitely stay again.
David S. Sep 2016
Great house! Great location! Would definitely choose to stay there again.
Paul M. Sep 2016
Great house for family vacation. Close to beach and take in beautiful sunsets.
Johannes W. Sep 2016
Given the remote location and difficult to get supplies, perhaps have an offer (paid even) to pre-supply the unit.
Susan W. Aug 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very cozy and comfortable home.
Angie G. Aug 2016
This home is minimalist in style making it good for young children and safe for curious hands (not any knick knacks to get into). The bunk room offers plenty of space for kids to spread out and play. The view of the ocean and meadow is amazing and the beaches are within easy walking distance. We saw lots of deer, a fox, skunk and bobcat from the living room windows. There is plenty of dining room seating and the kitchen is well stocked with good quality appliances and cooking utensils. The beds are comfortable making for a good nights sleep. The seating in the living room needs updating and fixing as the fabric is torn in places and the chairs are not very comfortable. This home is a good choice for families with kids who need close access to the beach and do not plan on spending a lot of time indoors because, although it does have a nice fireplace, the furnishings and drab colors are not very inviting. It is a home that encourages you to get out and play.
