If you happen to be visiting in winter, the skiers will love heading just over a mile north to Beech Mountain Ski Resort or seven miles south to Sugar Mountain Resort, Inc. Come summer the hiking and biking trails in the area are amazing and Grandfather Mountain State Park is home to the Mile High Swinging Bridge 14 miles from home base. Not to mention, the heart of Banner Elk offers a plethora of dining and shopping options.
