Beautiful property in a great location (right downtown). The only issue is noise at night and early in the morning. Construction and people leaving the bars can make it difficult to sleep. Otherwise, an amazing place!
Very roomy for vacation stay. Great location in historic downtown area.
Be weary of street noise. Overall, comfortable and clean!
It was fabulous and the staff at Vacasa was phenomenal
The apartment was spacious and very clean, however it was not very relaxing. We could not sleep at night because of the constant noise in the alley way, it appears the apartment next door is doing renovations throughout all hours of the night. On top of that, the apartment above us was very loud throughout the day. Would recommend once all construction was completely or if one does not care to sleep at night.
Cheaper stay than the Hampton Inn and I'm the heart of Savannah. Apartment was beautiful.
Nice, quiet, clean apartment in a central location.
Having visited Savannah almost a dozen times (our son goes to college there), we decided to opt for an apartment vs a hotel this time. The location is PRIME on Broughton Street. The apartment itself is beautiful and well appointed. Huge empty walk in closet allowed us to really unpack and settle in. Plenty of comfortable room and we felt lucky to open the door each time we returned home. Though I read it in earlier reviews, the dumpster emptying every morning at about 4:30 am was a huge bummer. Even for a heavy sleeper, it is a long (25 min) process that they empty dumpsters all along the back alleyway. That's the only reason it's not a 5 star rating.
The apartment was centrally located so we were able to walk to all our destinations in town. Parking can be an expensive venture though.
This place was awesome! It was everything we hoped for as soon as we opened the door. It was nice to be able to walk out of the door of the complex and be right in the heart of town. It made it even better that there was a coffee shop right when you walk out! The Espresso is fantastic! I definitely will be staying here again and I recommend it to everyone !
Parked the car and start walking....every thing you need is within walking distance. Clean and comfortable home. Enjoyed our first experience with Savannah.
Every morning around 3 or 4 a garbage truck pulls up right under the apartment. Even though the location of the apt is great and the apt is comfortable we would not stay here again due to the sound at night.
We apologize if the city noise was too much for our guests. We provide individually wrapped, disposable ear plugs for guests to use when this is the case. Thank you!
Cute place to stay. Very convenient. It would have been nice to have two bathrooms, but it was ok. Very loud at night. The noise didn’t stop until 4am on both Friday and Saturday night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
This charming apartment provides a spacious stay in historic Savannah. Walking distance to city market, restaurants and great shopping!
Beautiful, spacious condo right off Broughton Street. You will be able to walk everywhere you want to go. The décor of the condo was very nice, we honestly did not want to leave. Be sure to run down to the Coffee Fox just next door for your morning coffee to get you started for the day.
My two friends and I stayed here for a weekend girls trip. The condo was beautiful and welcoming! It was spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable and having a kitchen was convenient. The location is great, as it is close to shops, restaurants and bars. It's also just a short walk to River Street. I would definitely stay here again! We absolutely loved the condo and its amenities. Just wish we could have stayed longer! I highly recommend Savannah Sophisticate! A few things to mention, as they were not made clear until after the rental contract was complete: there are 25 stairs up to the condo. This was not a problem for us, but could be difficult for anyone with any physical limitations. There is no assigned parking space for the condo. You can get parking passes at the Visitor Center or there is a parking deck nearby for $15/day. You can also park on the street and pay the meters. Street parking is free on the weekends, until 8:00 Monday morning. Hopefully this information will be helpful to future renters.
Great rental unit; very cozy. Great location-right next to a coffee shop and a two-block walk to the City Market.
The only possible negative is the long flight of stairs to reach the second floor. Might be an issue for older dogs or people with mobility issues.
Thoroughly enjoyed our couple night stay here. The condo is right on historic W Broughton St located above a great coffee shop and across from a fun Irish bar. There are shops everywhere and it is only a 5 minute walk to the waterfront. Perfect location for anyone who wants to be right in the middle of things. Some reviews mention noise at night, and there was some, but it's downtown; that's to be expected. We slept fine both all three nights. We'd stay here again for sure.
We really enjoyed leaving our car in the car park nearby. We could easily walk to the town's attractions, the museums and interesting squares and places. The location of the flat is perfect. The disadvantage (for us) was that it was far too loud during the nights, people kept screaming until 4 o'clock in the morning and we could not sleep (Friday and Saturday night). An advantage is the generous size of the apartment and the fact that it is decorated beautifully.
Right in the thick of old Savannah, easy walking to just about any where.
The condo was nice inside. Only had a few TV channels on both televisions. The pillows all need replacing. Parking is horrible. Public parking was a minimum of $16.00 a day. More if you came in and out. No street parking available due to street cleaners at night. Business below condo had trash dumpsters emptied at 4:30 am and 5:30 am. Thought that a plane had crashed into the building.
Home is tastefully done. Location is in the middle of everything so no issues there. Being in the middle means noise from bars, and cars. I had no problem sleeping even through the garbage truck and the loud party goers but i was drinking and did not try to sleep until after 3 am anyway. Great location to have a party weekend, not so much if you are looking for a quiet relaxing spot.
Close to everything! Spacious and nicely decorated
Conveniently located on Broughton St. very close to several main attractions in Savannah. Beautiful condo inside with all of the comforts of home- laundry, kitchen, etc. Will definitely stay here again
After the flight up the narrow stairwell, I was very pleasantly surprised with the space. It is very nicely decorated with interesting art work and light fixtures. It's a great spot for 2 couples looking to enjoy a getaway in Savannah.
There's a lot to do and see within walking distance, so park your car and forget it! I would stay there again!
Location was excellent. Parking was not an issue. The home itself was very cozy however did not feel like a home. The mattresses were extremely comfortable and we wanted for nothing. The Netflix option was perfect.
The apartment was spacious and above everything going on downtown. It was only two blocks from the River and all the late night fun going on there. We never had any concerns about safety and the property itself has multiple locks and a massive set of stairs up to the different apartments. Overall my friends and I loved our stay and would do it again in a heartbeat. Parking was an interesting process but there was a relatively inexpensive parking garage behind Ellis Square that seemed very secure.
Location was perfect, we walked to almost every meal! We ate a celebratory birthday dinner at Local11ten, which was definitely the gastronomic highlight, with the eclectic Hitch restaurant coming in as a close second (the Avocado fritters are amazing!). Enjoyed being walking distance to fan-favorites like Leopold's Ice Cream, The Collin's Quarter, the Savannah Bee Company, and all the great shopping that Broughton St. has to offer! After two days we ventured to Tybee, and kayaked to Little Tybee Island, where we enjoyed an afternoon on our own "private beach." We loved being able to walk from the apartment to Savannah's historic homes, squares, and the river front, no car needed! My husband is incredibly thrifty, so he found street parking each day, which was much less expensive than the garage. Other than the noise from the garbage cans in the morning, this place was perfection! The cleanliness, decor, and location are unparalleled, would definitely return.
Condo has an amazing location, was very clean, and nice. Very cute, cozy place!
The apartment was great.... The location is great... The noise outside is easily heard in both bedrooms. Good sleeping time is from 3am to about 7am. Other than that the stay was awesome, parked our car in garage and walked or used bus for transportation, didn't drive for anything.
Fantastic location for walking to everything but Savannah is small enough that this can probably be said of anywhere you stay downtown. The apartment is clean and open but very dark (natural light only in the bedroom) and loud- the 4 am trash pick up in the alley is especially jarring. If your goals are shopping and partying this is a great place to be but if you are looking for quiet and sunshine this may not be your place.
The place was the perfect location for our trip, surrounded by great shopping food and River Street!
Was a nice property. Neighborhood was very very noisy at night and not very safe after 11 pm. Great during the day though.
The place was cozy private the only thing that I think uou should do is the windows, I think if you change the door and window the noise from the outside will definitely be muted.
The street the townhome faces is simply perfection as is it's location to our favorite restaurants, shops and the city market, however only during the day as at night the back alley turns into a loud and dangerous area. We witnessed a drug deal outside the window Saturday night and the noise levels remain until 4am. I used a white noise app on my phone, which did help but only slightly.
We brought our dog as we do on most vacations. He is well trained and we make sure to clean up any and all mishaps should they occur. This townhome however needs a new sofa or a deep cleaning as when we arrived there were urine stains all over it.
When planning a vacay with VACASA I would strongly suggest trip insurance. I am still stunned that we were unable to cancel our reservation when I called to notify VACASA that my father, who planned the trip for our family, passed away a week prior to our trip. We were told we could reschedule, only as late as January (our original trip was planned as a holiday family trip), but not cancel. I do not believe that we would rent again from this agency simply because of that factor. Had they been more understanding then they would have gotten our business repeatedly.
The townhome is one that is in a beautiful location during the day, if you venture our at night, be careful, stay on the street the home faces or Uber (which we did). Everyone in the area was very helpful, kind and I would love to revisit the city in the springtime not so close to having lost my father however I would not stay in this home due to the noise level and activity in the alley at night. It's a shame really. We were told the historic society doesn't allow for double pane windows and that is the reason the noise is so bad.
A few reviews note the potential for loudness, do not take them lightly - the pub and bars below absolutely make this for a loud place at night. Some ear plugs do the trick though!
This is a beautiful house, with all of the amenities one might need for an easy vacation. The location is impossible to beat, and there is a parking garage a block down the road since the unit does not have available parking.
I would highly recommend this spot for a girl's weekend, just bring your ear plugs in case there's a game on at the pub down stairs! We had a wonderful time, thank you for a great weekend!
Everything was perfect except the cleaning service was still working when we arrived after our scheduled check-in time. Otherwise, it was great.
This unit is beautiful and clean. The downside is that it is located near a club that is open until 3:00 a.m. and you can hear the bass until then. Once the clubs let out, the streets were filled with yelling, loud cars, sirens, etc. until about 4:00. About 50 people broke out into a fight in the alley next to the bedrooms. If you want to sleep...bring earplugs. It is a shame because the area is amazing during the day and the unit itself is great.
This property is all about location. Most of the sights of downtown Savannah are well within walking distance. The property is very well maintained. Possibly one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. That being said, this is not a Netflix and Chill house. The bars near this building are open until 3 am, and you will hear the music until 3 am, even with ear plugs, the air conditioner and a sound machine. Then you'll hear the garbage truck in the alley at 4 am. I wish more people had written about the noise level before I booked the property and I would have chosen a different place to stay. Other reviews discuss the lock box, which was not an issue for us. The neighbors were friendly and mostly quiet. I know you can't control the noise in the alley or the surrounding bars, but if you are looking for a place to relax with your family, consider a more quiet section of town. The wifi was a dream, but the television got three channels that were impossible to watch because they were antenna fed, they would work for a matter of minutes before becoming pixelated to the point of being unwatchable. We received no response from the local manager when we texted and asked if there was a log in provided for the Amazon stick. Again, not a huge deal, if you are coming to town to be out of the apartment seeing the sights the entire time you're here. Paris Market, Coffee Fox, Savannah Bee company, Collins Quarter, River Street are all just blocks away from this location.
We apologize that this guest did not receive a response from us; we will provide all necessary information for entertainment purposes in the digital guest binder.
Loved location. Condo beautifully updated. Convenient to shopping, dining, bars and Forsyth Park. No windows in kitchen/den area so dark and a bit of musty smell. Noise level very high through late night to morning in alley behind bedrooms. Very hard to sleep. If noise doesn't bother you - highly recommend.
Absolutely loved my stay. Perfect location. Walking distance to everything.
It was a beautiful apartment. It was an amazing location. We parked just around the corner. We would definitely stay here again. It is loud in the back alley with dumpster clean-ups, not sure if that was just the days we stayed or not. Fabulous place.
My family and I (2 adults and 2 children 6 and 22 months old) had a wonderful time at this condo in downtown Savannah. It was such a great location. We parked our car in a public parking garage and there was no need to move it except when we drove to the beach. Everything was within waking distance. My kids loved the splash pad fountain near by while mommy and daddy loved all the downtown shops and food. The condo was so beautiful, clean, and had plenty of space.
The only con I have for this condo is the noise level. However I am a country girl and not use to the downtown nightlife! We slept horrible the first night due to street racing and police sirens all night long! The second night was better until around 4 am when the garbage truck decided to come and dump all the dumpsters (lasting about 45 minutes of banging and beeping). Very hard to sleep through, but like I said I'm from the country so totally not use to city living. Overall this was a great condo and great location, we will be back for sure, but with ear plugs. Thanks for the great stay!
Cannot say enough good things about the Savannah Soficticate! Outstanding location. Perfectly decorated. Extremely clean and comfortable!
Pros- Great location! We parked our car and didn't move it until we left. It is really walking distance from everything. Such a charming and spacious unit. I would stay here again.
Cons- Bedrooms are very bright. You'll wake up when the sun comes up. It took my toddler a little bit longer to fall asleep during nap time as well. I wish there were some curtains to darken it a bit. Parking is a concern and the lock box/code situation isn't explained well. Internet service was not working for about 65% of our stay. No tv either bc they only have a Amazon Fire Stick and not regular cable. They fixed it eventually but but it took almost 24 hours after initial contact for them to take a look at it. It was beyond my control and not user error.
Tips for future guests-
Unloading suitcases- There are a few 10 minute spots near the front door of the unit if you have a lot of gear.
Parking- Buy a visitor multiple day pass from Savannah Parking and Mobility Services. It is cheaper than paying a regular parking deck rate and you have more flexibility in where you park and how long. http://www.savannahga.gov/index.aspx?nid=771
Lock Box- They need to explain this park more clearly. I have left out details to maintain privacy and safety. There is a code for the front door to get in. There is also a key in the first lock box to get in the first door. You don't need both. There is a another lock box at the unit door to get into the actual unit.
We had a wonderful girlfriends weekend. There are two double beds. Everything is close by. Fantastic location. We were surprised, however, when we opened the door and saw a very tall flight of stairs. After getting the key codes straightened out we were good 2go. Perfect for what we wanted. Nice kitchen which we didn't use much LOL. Only one bathroom. That was probably the only drawback with 4 women in the house, haha!
Overall great stay. More kitchen items needed. Not set up for cooking a full meal.
The Property Manager has added mixing bowls, a non-stick pan, a medium size pot, plus a 12-cup coffee maker to the unit. Hopefully this helps!
This property was very clean with nice furnishings. Beds were comfortable and linens were adequate. There is a television but no access to regular television, only to view recorded programs. This property would be great for people ages 21+ who like to enjoy the nightlife of local clubs and bars. We found it exceptionally difficult to sleep because the music was soooooo loud until 3a and there were a lot of loud people outside in the alley and on the streets. We were there on a Friday night and Saturday night so maybe it would be quieter Sunday - Thursday. We like to go to Savannah to relax and get rested as do most of our friends, so we would not recommend this rental. However, we think it would be an awesome place for the 21-35 year old crowd who are in Savannah for the nightlife.
The location of this unit is hard to beat. It is close to everything you want to do and see. It's walking distance to everything: restaurants, historical sites, bars, the river. The furnishings are wonderful. Super classy and comfortable.
