Family-friendly lakefront house with 3 kitchens, private dock - dogs welcome

Plan the holiday celebration, family reunion, or summer vacation of your dreams at this four-bedroom Standish retreat, a serene and peaceful lakefront home with two decks, three covered porches, a private dock, as well as kayaks, and a canoe to help you explore your gorgeous Maine surroundings.

Nestled in a grove of trees, this dog-friendly property sits on the scenic shores of Watchic Lake, a 448-acre expanse known for its large populations of bass, perch, and pickerel. You'll be able to swim, fish, and launch boats just outside your door, but you'll also be only two miles from the Field of Dreams Golf Driving Range, six miles south of Sebago Lake, and 20 miles from Portland International Jetport.

With three distinct living areas, three separate kitchens, and refined yet comfortable furnishings, this 4,000-square-foot home offers you and your guests the perfect blend of togetherness and privacy.

Spend your days in comfort in the airy central living space, which features lofty ceilings, plush seating, and windows that frame views of the lake. Light the gas fireplace on crisp fall evenings; choose a book, a game, or a DVD from the shelves; and settle in for the evening by the cable TV.

In addition to two more living areas, you'll enjoy use of three well-equipped kitchens, where guests can easily mingle and help prepare meals. In the main kitchen alone, you'll find double ovens, a gas range, and a dishwasher, as well as casual bar seating and an sunny dining room table.

But it is the spectacular outdoor spaces - including two decks, three covered porches, and a small courtyard - that truly make this home special. Watch for loons, osprey, and eagles as you tend to the gas grill, host a lobster bake with friends and family, and end the evening by roasting S'mores around the firepit.

Take a sunrise paddle in the provided canoe or kayaks, which are easily launched from the private dock. You can also swing in the hammock, put your fishing license to good use, or recline in a beach chair as the kids splash in the shallow buoyed swim area.

At night, this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom retreat will accommodate as many as 10 guests, although it is more ideally furnished for eight. The elegant master suite offers two twin beds that are pushed together to form a king, as well as a private bathroom with a jet tub.

You'll also find two bedrooms with a queen bed apiece, and a fourth bedroom with a set of twin beds. Dogs are even welcome at the Selah Lakefront Retreat, but please note that a small nightly fee applies.

Additional amenities at this lakefront property include WiFi, a private washer and dryer, and a stair lift that connects the first and second floors.

Guests need never leave the property to enjoy the wonders of Watchic Lake, but don't forget about the many other activities this region has to offer! In the wintertime, you'll find lake access for snowmobiles at the end of the road, while the Stone Mountain Arts Center hosts national musical acts that range from folk to opera, Celtic to classical.

And in addition to the restaurants and large grocery store you'll find a few miles away, you'll be just a short drive from Portland's thriving culinary scene, historic old port, and lovely shoreline on Casco Bay.

It doesn't get more quintessentially Maine than this - escape to this beautiful lakefront home today!

I would recommend this home on Watchic Lake over and over again. It’s comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The main floor kitchen has EVERYTHING you may need to cook. There’s plenty of space for privacy. And the view of the lake is perfect.....sunrises are amazing. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. We had an issue with the thermostat and the owner and her son were there within the hour to take care of it. Very pleasant family! Don’t hesitate to vacation here.

This is our third year in a row coming here and we just can't get enough of this beautiful Lakefront Retreat!!!
It just keeps getting better every year. Already looking to book it for next year. This is the one vacation that my 2 sons and their Fiancés look forward to each summer to all get together and just have so much fun!!!

This is the perfect house for a trip with multiple families or generations. Easy 40 or so minute drive to Portland, but the lake is nice enough that it's worth spending several days not going anywhere. My only complaint would be that my allergies were really bad on the slightly musty lowest level, but I think that's probably to be expected on any house on the water. Take that into consideration when assigning rooms. Lots of stairs, but there is a lift from the mid level to the top floor great room. Overall a great trip.

The house was great, had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

This home was lovely. It served our special needs well! We had an elder with us who was unable to go up and downvstairs. The chair glide was a godsend. There was also a bathroom on the main level where the "gathering area" was located. That was a necessary feature for us.

The lake view from the decks and most of the rooms is great. The upper two levels of the home are neat, clean and well decorated. The lower level bathroom is dated. Overall a nice place to visit and relax.

We recently returned from our stay here, on Watchic Lake. We were so happy and content ! Depending on people's needs, I would surely recommend this home, especially for an extended stay. So many things are provided for you. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and we thought the whole home was comfortable. WE have absolutely no complaints and would love to come and stay again !! Thank you, to the Owners and Vacasa.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary here with our kids. The layout was perfect for time together as well as time to spend apart. The lake is a treasure. The kayaks and docks provide so much enjoyment. The decks were great including the grill--and the outside fire pit was so relaxing in the evening. The kitchen was well-appointed making it easy to prepare meals. Having a big grocery store nearby was awesome. We would return to this property in a heartbeat!

Such a great place! We had an amazing time and it's a perfect spot right on the lake! The water was amazing and we even woke up one day and used there kayaks which was so nice! Thank you for everything!

We had a three families reunuion with 6 adults and for kids. This house was terrific. The boats were a big hit, and we swam to the flag rock everyday. Smores at the firepit, lazy spaces to hangout, and a fabulous kitchen. We had a lovely time and would return readily. Thanks!

If you're looking to get away for an awesome week/weekend in Maine look no further. This place has 3, that's right 3 kitchens. 3 full bathrooms and one half. Tons of space in case the weather isn't good and ample outdoor space. It also comes with Paddle boards, Kayaks, a nice dock and a floating swimming platform. The owner is very nice and the house was in immaculate condition. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Book now!

Area is secluded from "big city life" and exactly the place to go to unwind and forget about the rat race of life for a little while! The sunrises over the lake and the surrounding scenery were very pleasing.

House is very comfortable for a family gathering. Living space allows gathering or alone time as needed.

This house was amazing and perfect for us. We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners have it just right and it was greatly appreciated. If you have a family with different needs and a little space for everyone is appreciated, yet having a great common area as well, this is it. Waterfront is perfectly balanced with some lawn area and deck space to sit and watch the younger ones paddle or swim. Really great. We hope to return.

By far one of the most beautiful location I have ever stayed in. Every room has windows on to the water, the house was quiet, peaceful, and immaculate.
