Wake up with a hot cup of coffee as you watch the breeze blow gently across the lake. Set off from the dock in your watercraft to find the perfect spot to set up for a relaxing day of casting and lounging.

Make a day of exploring the area and see the Hyde Log Cabin. Believed to be America's oldest log cabin, the Hyde Family enjoyed the area for nearly 150 years while calling the cabin home. We loved the location and the house was very clean and well-equipped. The check-in/out process was very simple and the rates were comparable to the area.

Some notes:
The driveway is a bit steep, very narrow, and rocky. We had SUVs and most of us are pretty nimble getting in/out of our vehicles, but it wasn't the easiest especially the one time we had to run out at dark. If you have any less than agile family members you may want to take that into consideration.

Other reviewers have commented on the cow smell. Yes, it is pretty bad at times and we went during a cool weekend. The owners can't do anything about that, though.

We planned showers/dishes/hot water usage well due to the small hot water heater and didn't run into issues. It is something to plan for with longer stays, though. The bathroom is very small, but this is a camp/cabin. Some of us with longer legs/curvier bodies simply side-saddled the toilet and just accepted that the shower was going to be a challenge. Shave those legs before you get there if you care about that sort of thing. :)

I just can't say enough about the view we woke up to every morning. It was so peaceful to hear the waves lapping along the shore. If you are OK with a true camp/cabin then I recommend this location.

Manager Response:
We appreciate the guests feedback. Our local staff has since replaced the hot water heater with a larger one for guest satisfaction.

Spectacular view. Quiet, relaxing.
Only drawback was the cow smell when the wind blows toward as opposed to off the lake.

We had a great time at Pearl Bay, the view vas just amazing! The lodge is old but very well maintained, our only criticism would be the smell of mothball when we arrived. We had a great time there, and we had the chance to meet some people that rented the lodge about 60 years ago!! It felt like being in an old classic, we had a wonderful time there and I would recommend it for any family looking for a quiet and close vacation together.

We loved this cottage. It is very classic, wonderfully rustic and exceptionally clean. It was a truly relaxing vacation and the fishing was great! We loved watching the sun come up and having fires in the evening under the stars. We loved the fresh country air and subtle breezes. The lapping of the waves on the pebble beach were so soothing. We loved the remoteness of the cottage; however, gas, food, bait, etc. are only 5 minutes away. We are already planning our return. Thanks for a perfect vacation!

Beautiful, quiet setting for cottage right on Lake Champlain; lots to see and do in easy driving distance, more than we could take in in 1 week. Great area for a holiday.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this home. You couldn't ask for a more stunning view. We woke early every morning to watch the sun rise on the lake. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and from the provided canoe. The beds were comfortable and the linens provided were plentiful and clean. There are houses close by, but the neighbors were friendly. There was nothing quite like sitting by a fire while listening to the waves crash below. A few nights, as a storm rolled in, we could smell a strong odor of cow manure, but it wasn't bad enough to keep us from visiting this house again. With a family of five, the five gallon hot water tank did require us to be strategic with washing dishes and taking showers, but we made it work. What we were disappointed with was the swimming. There was green algae/seaweed and too many rocks to swim past our knees. We visited the Sand Bar Park up the road and paid to swim. All in all, we loved our time at this home and made many family memories. Despite the few challenges, we hope to return again soon.

We had a wonderful week. At first we thought too secluded....BUT it did not take long at all to really appreciate the seclusion

My family and I stayed here for a week this summer. We absolutely loved the location and the cabin. The view is amazing and the breeze off of the lake keeps one cool even in the height of summer. While I was a bit nervous about the 5 gallon hot water heater, it was never an issue. If we turned the knob to 12:00, the water was perfect. We wanted to get away, unplug, enjoy the outdoor, and have a great family experience. That is exactly what we got. We would definitely rent this property again!

We have stayed here twice now and really love this spot for it's location, price and convenience. The only challenge we have found is that the smell of cow manure from the neighboring dairy farms when the wind blows from the west can be very tough to deal with. Great spot for boaters with a good dock and mooring.

Beautiful place on the water, great views of mountains, close to local grocery store and churches.

We have stayed at places on Lake Champlain before. This was our first stay on Grand Isle, and we were very happy with our choice to stay at this cabin. The property is really great. It was so relaxing to sit by the water or inside the cabin and enjoy views of the lake and the Vermont mountains. The cabin was extremely clean, and the kitchen was well supplied to make fixing meals easy. Before renting we were concerned that there was no air conditioning. That was never a problem. This property is surrounded by windows so we had nice breezes flowing though the cabin. There are fans if needed. The web page tells that there is only a 5 gallon hot water heater. That was never a problem either. We had plenty of hot water, so don't let that stop you from staying here. It was a wonderful relaxing week on Lake Champlain, and enjoyed the surrounding area. We definitely would recommend this property.

Overall this location is private, serene and well maintained given the age of the property. The gas grill, fire pit, row boat and privacy are exactly what we were looking for on a weekend vacation!
