Beautiful, dog-friendly beach home in gated community - walk to the sand!

This beautiful three-bedroom beach home is a wonderful spot to unwind from the stresses of modern life, yet offers all the conveniences of home close to the beach and dining options in charming Pacific City. The home even offers kayaks at no additional charge so long as you sign the waiver to release the owner from liability.

The name "Innisfree" was inspired by a William Butler Yeats poem about his peaceful waterfront retreat, and the comparison suits this getaway, tucked away near a natural wetlands in the beachfront gated community of Kiwanda Shores, quite nicely. Keep an eye on the resident deer and coastal birds across the street as you sip a mug of fresh coffee or glass of wine on the enclosed sun porch. With the beach just a short walk away, the peace and quiet of a stroll along the sand is always within easy reach.

Although a relaxing place to read a good book or catch up with friends, the home also offers the modern conveniences many guests will appreciate. In the living room, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, a VCR and DirecTV cable sits adjacent to the gas fireplace for movie nights. Browse restaurant reviews with the wireless Internet, or grab a board game from the shelf for more interactive entertainment. There is a second TV with a VCR and DVD player upstairs but it does not have cable. It is a great way for the kids to watch their favorite movies while the adults can watch something else downstairs.

The open floor plan continues to the kitchen, where stools line a breakfast bar so everyone can socialize even while preparing dinner. The kitchen is fully stocked, with plenty of counterspace to make use of the pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and dinnerware provided. And yes, there is a dishwasher for easy clean-up. In addition to the barstools is a six-person dining table, although we suggest staging breakfast on the sun porch so you don't miss a minute of the serene views. There is also seating on the patio for enjoying a cold beer on warm afternoons.

The home has three bedrooms, with a master suite downstairs and two additional bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed and attached bath, making it easy for older guests who want to avoid stairs. The second bedroom has a king bed, and the third has two twins.

The living room's sofa unfolds into a full-sized sleeper for extra guests, allowing up to eight lucky vacationers to share the home comfortably. A cozy window seat on the landing between floors provides an extra spot for bookworms to cuddle up with a page-turner and enjoy some additional privacy away from the bustle of the downstairs living room.

This home is meant for relaxation, but we also know how to have fun! In the garage, you'll find three adult-sized bicycles for traversing the community's pathways and the quiet side streets of Pacific City. There are also two kayaks and an inflatable boat for paddling the nearby lakes and the Nestucca River, which flows into the Pacific just a few miles south of the home. Best of all, the home welcomes well-behaved dogs, so you can experience the sheer joy of watching your four-legged family members prance alongside waves crashing on the shore.

The lists of activities are nearly endless: there are horse stables offering rides along the beach, charters guided by professional deep-sea fishermen, tide pools to explore, sand castles to build, kites to fly, and trails to hike and dunes to climb in nearby Cape Kiwanda State Park.

When it comes to more "civilized" excursions, the house is located in a perfect spot to explore Pacific City. Less than half a mile to the north is the famous Pelican Pub and Brewery. Just over half a mile to the south is the bridge spanning the river, with easy access to the downtown area's cafes, bakeries, and bistros. You can walk everywhere you might want to go in town!

Get away from it all here at Innisfree, our blissful retreat surrounded by pine trees and only steps from the beautiful beach in lovely Pacific City.

Three generations had a great time. Enjoyed the sun room a lot.

I’ve rented this house many times and live it. I love it’s proximity to the beach and the goings on in town. Mostly, I love how chill and cozy the house is.
Anthony W. Jul 2019
Ideal location, lovely private beach nearby, nice home!
Gordon K. Jul 2019
Easy walk to beach. Sun room special, especially on cool days. Nice layout of home. Only downside is highway noise. Larger Great Room TV would be nice. We would stay here again!
Jacqueline M. Oct 2018
It was the perfect beach cottage for the family.
Kurt M. Aug 2018
The house was real good and had everything we needed. Good room for all and great to cook dinner at the house.
Eric L. Aug 2018
We were 4 adults and 3 children and had plenty of space to each do their own thing or activities all together.
Very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. Only 5 minute walk to the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable home.
Jolene C. Jul 2018
The house was with in a short walk to a quiet beach, yet within walking distance of town. The sun porch was a great place for our furry friends .
Kevin D. Oct 2017
Great location. Attractive and nicely appointed home. Cozy, yet can accommodate many guests. Sun porch is a nice place to linger, let more sunlight into the house, provided passive solar heating to take the fall chill out of the air, created a transition to minimize the amount of sand in the house, and was a great place for our dog to hang out.

Will definitely reserve again if our travels bring us back to Pacific City.

Fantastic place to stay with our dog and kids...very homey and comfortable. Nice artistic touches that feel like home. Short walk to beach and town.
Carrie P. Aug 2017
This house was perfect. I stayed in the home with my brother and we had a great time. We loved have long talks on the sun porch while drinking good wine.
Mark M. Jul 2017
I've rented this property a few times and love it. Centaly located to everything. Cozy and comfortable for a small group of folks.
Sandra F. Jul 2017
This house had everything!!! Walking distance to the beach nice bike paths, great kitchen, super time 😊😊😊

Our family and 2 friends of our children stayed at the Innisfree for 3 days and it was the perfect set up. Very clean and well appointed. Kitchen was large & well stocked - loved that there was a salad spinner and sharp knives! The linens were all nice and comfortable. And, although we didn't use it, it was great to have Laundry available. Very nice please and easy access to the beach and the rest of Pacific City.

Comfy accommodations and great location.
Natalie B. Aug 2016
Cute house! Loved the bikes!
Lorraine F. Aug 2016
The area was very nice for the grandkids to have fun on the beach and the beach was not crowded at all. Looks of other things to do and places to see.
Brad A. Aug 2016
I highly recommend this house. Very comfortable with everything you need for an excellent beach vacation. Comfy furniture and plenty of space. I would book this house again no question.

We really enjoyed our stay at Innisfree! We especially appreciated the adult bikes that were available for our use (bring your own bike lock, there was a u lock but we couldn't find the key - didn't look too hard since we'd brought our own lock). Biking on the trails was lovely, and it is a quick bike ride to Pelican Pub.

The closets in the upstairs bedrooms are huge - a fun place for littler kids to sleep since the bedrooms are rather bright!

Note that this home does not have window coverings in the living room or kitchen. It felt a little odd being in those rooms with the lights on after dark. There was a bit of road noise but not too bad. We were there midweek so traffic was fairly light.
MATT L. Jul 2016
Fantastic location! Nice house with sun room where our family spent a lot of time. Pacific City is the best... a little bit sleepy and very quiet, but one of the most beautiful places on the whole West coast.
Colleen O. Jul 2016
My daughters, dog and I arrived at Innisfree on Thursday for a girls night - it was fun to settle in to the living room in our bathrobes, eat ice cream and play board games! My husband arrived on Friday after riding his bicycle to the coast. We very much enjoyed sipping coffee, reading the stash of paperbacks at the house and doing crosswords in the sun room. Our older daughter loved having her own suite downstairs, and upstairs worked great for our younger daughter and us. We liked that the garage had spare bikes and would have loved to try out the raft or kayaks if we'd been able to. We typically are in Pacific City for Memorial Day and Labor Day, so it was great to come on a weekend where there were lots of activities, but without the over-sized crowds that come on holiday weekends. We attended the Dory Days parade and the fish fry at the community center - great local events with dory-caught fish. If you or your kids are interested in horseback rides, I recommend the folks at Green Acres - they are friendly and safety-cautious and provide a nice ride on the beach. Check out the dune and tide pools, and just relax. The only thing that's missing from Innisfree is quick/easy beach access, but it's just a five minute walk - the house is great for smaller families, and I would definitely come back.
Kathleen S. Jul 2016
It was a wonderful family experience!!
Cathy B. May 2016
We spent 3 1/2 days at this location. I have been going to Pacific City for many years. I love the expanse of sand, the sand dune, the restaurants. We were there the weekend that Reach the Beach bike ride occurred. A gazillions cyclists but even with the huge influx of people, PC was still great.(we did avoid the restaurants on Saturday night and Sunday morning!)
The house worked out fine for 2 couples and 2 kids. The sun porch is awesome. I was concerned about road noise but even with the huge influx of cars for the bike event, the house was very quiet.
Andrew D. May 2016
We had 6 adults and some pets at Innisfree for the weekend and really wish we could have stayed longer. The house is an excellent setup for several people. We made meals in the kitchen and all others not cooking were able to visit and enjoy those in the kitchen due to the open area. What a great place, we will back again and again.
David O. Apr 2016
Is a really nice place. Very peaceful and quite.
Dianna T. Apr 2016
Beautiful beach setting just a short walk from house. House was clean and suited our needs nicely. We had 3 adults and two children. In the house were games that the kids loved.
Kristopher Y. Apr 2016
House was wonderful. Vacasa representatives unavailable during normal business hours for significant property access problem. Hmmm...area for improvement.
Manager response:
We are happy that you enjoyed the home. We apologize that you were unable to reach out staff during regular hours. We sill verify that the guest services number in the home is correct so our guests wont have any trouble reaching us in case they need to.
Peter K. Mar 2016
I think the hardest part is having to check in after 4 pm, but leave before 11 am. We saw that the house wasn't rented out the day before, so it was disappointing that we couldn't get early check in because the house wasn't cleaned yet. We would be happy to stay here again, would recommend longer stay than 3 days and two nights to get the benefit of the home.
Sharon L. Mar 2016
We enjoyed this house overall. The master bedroom needed to have the carpet cleaned or changed. Smelled a bit like a cat. The rest of the house was very clean and overall the house was great. It's just a short hike from the sea on a private walkway. You cab hear the sea from the front of the house. The back of the house is on Cape Kiwanda Dr. It was very quiet while we were there, but I could see in the summer where it might be loud with more traffic going by. We had a great time, and would probably stay there again. Very convenient to everything.
Kimberly O. Dec 2015
This house is quiet, clean, and accommodating. We were looking for a quiet place to relax, close to the beach, and we found it in this house. It is a short walk to the beach, not far from Cape Kiwanda. It is a very nice place to stay!
Kim W. Oct 2015
We spent a glorious week in Pacific City! Great location...close to Tillamook and Lincoln City, and my favorite part...no people! The weather was amazing! Sunny everyday, until the day we left to go home. This home is in a beautiful area. We loved it and will stay there again!
Jim S. Oct 2015
We had a great time watching the dory boats coming in. had fun climbing the sand dunes, walking the trails. The roads in the community not marked. We were looking for Dorey drive where our cabin is and the road was not marked as such. Would be more helpful if they were marked so you would know where you are at. Its a very nice gated community. We felt safe.
John S. Sep 2015
Overall, a nice property. The football fan will be upset with the tiny TV, but otherwise very comfortable.
Lisa E. Sep 2015
We loved the sunroom.. A great place for morning coffee. Very comfortable home. We will be back!
Robert B. Aug 2015
We loved the homes location! This was our first stay in pacific city we liked it however it was a bit crowed for us and not as peaceful as we would have hoped! The house was nice and we spent most of our time on the sun porch it was amazing!!! Thanks for letting us stay we had fun and loved all the awsome board games and bikes!!!
Marketa R. Jul 2015
We were so happy to get out of the Portland heat and visit this special place on the coast. Spacious bedrooms and a quick walk to the beach. We were so happy to use the bikes and kayaks available with this home. It made our stay all the better - thank you!
Barbara H. Sep 2014
The washing machine needs work. The dial is broken and very difficult to operate. It would be great if safety handles could be,installed in the bath tubs as the tubs are extra deep and somewhat difficult to get in and out of especially for the elderly. Other than that the house is wonderful.
Derek S. Aug 2014
We definitely enjoyed our stay at this house. The property was very well maintained, clean, and was well equipped with lots of stuff to keep my family entertained (bikes, board/card games, DVDs). I wish we would have stayed longer!
Mark M. Jul 2014
I rented this house for my 44th birthday surf trip. The photos on vacasa don't do the house justice. It's really a great house and walking distance from just about everything pacific city offers.
Manager response:
Thank you for this review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday with us and that the house more then met your expectation. We look forward to seeing you again!
Melinda A. Jul 2014
We have always loved Pacific City but staying here made it over the top! Loved the house and location. We happened to be there on Dory Day to experience the parade which our 2 granddaughters loved. The weather was beautiful and we found more of a secluded area of the beach with little streams that they could play in and where we didn't have to deal with the multitude of crowds. Fires on the beach were amazing. We loved climbing the sand dunes and our dinner on the patio of the Pelican was awesome on Sunday night. Not as crowded on Sunday and our granddaughters could play in the sand while we sat there with family and cocktails waiting for our dinner. The Innisfree home was so comfortable and perfect for everyone. It was very well equipped from the kitchen to the kayaks and bikes. The home has a lot of character and we loved the electric fireplace for cozy mornings and late evenings. The big sun room which brought in a ton of sunlight was awesome for playing games. The home is only a couple of blocks from the beach and our granddaughters could ride their bikes around the cul-de-sac . Always a lot of work when you bring the family to the beach but well worth the fun and memories we made there this past weekend. We definitely will be staying here in the future.
Manager response:
This is great feedback! We're so glad that your experience with us was such a positive one and that you and your family were able to enjoy the gorgeous beach and home. We look forward to seeing you again.
Ann N. Jul 2014
House is at great location - 5 min to beach, 1/2 mi to Cape Kiwanda or Bob Straub. Very clean and well equipped. All loved the sun porch and great kitchen.
Joanne R. Jul 2014
We really enjoyed our stay. House was clean, cozy and comfortable. One reason I chose this house was because it was a walk away from the beach, which with 4 and 6 year old grandkids visiting worked well because we did not have to worry about them going outside and running into the ocean!

Manager response:
Thank you for this great review! We are so glad to hear that you and your grandkids enjoyed the close walk to the beach, and the cleanliness of the home!
Cleo M. Apr 2014

We had a wonderful stay at Innisfree! The house was clean, it had comfortable furniture and cozy fire. The amenities and the option to use the kayaks was great. The kitchen was full of more than enough cook ware and there was tons of counter space for preparing meals. Having the sun room off the entrance to take off wet and sandy clothes before going into the house was a very effective way to keep the house clean and it was a nice place for coffee and a book in the morning. Over all we had a fantastic time staying at this house and visiting Pacific City.
Judy F. Sep 2013
This is the second time we've stayed at this house. We've stayed at other houses on this block. but this one is our favorite. It has everything you would need and more. The best thing is we are able to bring our golden retriever with us...and he loves it here as much as we do. The house is set around many pine trees and tall grasses but just a short walk through the trail and up a couple streets to a beautiful UNCROWDED beach. This is our favorite vacation.
Manager response:
Welcome Back!!

What a great location and home! We really enjoyed our stay, the nice walk through the wildlife area and short two blocks to the beach. We loved beachcombing our way down to the dune and tidal pools! The home was very comfortable for our group of 6. We had beautiful weather for exploring the area, but enjoyed introducing our kids to some of the games on the couple blustery days. We appreciated the sand toys and the weber grill available, as well.
Debbie Z. May 2013
The sun porch is great. It was cool and rainy but cozy and bright in there. Spent time reading, playing cards, and had bruch out there. Nicely appointed kitchen and plenty of towels and bedding.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed this cozy house in spite of the rain - we look forward to having you back again!

Our stay was excellent. We would highly recommend the Innisfree to anyone who wants to spend a few days experiencing and exploring Pacific City!
