Charming A-frame with a hot tub, 2 decks & a great location!

Walk to the water's edge when you escape to this one-bedroom (plus a loft) Carnelian Bay cabin, a beautifully restored A-frame with two decks, lovely lake and mountain views, and a private hot tub that sits at the base of the evergreens.

Wonderfully situated just one block from the northern shores of Lake Tahoe, this two-level cabin is half a mile from Patton Beach, one mile from Carnelian Beach West, and three miles from the sandy stretch of Kings Beach. In the snowy winter months, skiers and snowboarders will be only 10 miles from Northstar California Resort, 14 miles from Alpine Meadows, and 15 miles from Squaw Valley.

Whether you're planning a family trip or a cozy getaway with friends, this cabin offers an abundance of mountain character in a perfectly convenient location.

Step inside to discover the A-frame of your dreams, full of exposed wood, plush furnishings, and built-in details. Throw a log on the fire as the snow falls outside, recline on the comfortable sofa with a good book, or curl up in the window seat as you watch your favorite show on the flatscreen cable TV.

The full kitchen is classic and charming, with butcher block countertops, a farm sink, and a vintage-inspired refrigerator and gas stove. Wake up each morning to the aroma of fresh coffee and gather your friends for breakfast in the built-in dining nook for six.

In the sparkling summer months, relax in the sun on the front porch or fire up the gas grill to cook lunch on the side deck. You'll find a patio table surrounded by trees, as well as a private hot tub for soaking your sore hiking legs.

There's even a desk by the window back inside, where you can use the WiFi to catch up on work and take a few breaks to enjoy the mountain and lake views.

With one bedroom and an atmospheric loft space, the Sunshine Cabin can sleep as many as six people during your North Lake Tahoe getaway. On the main floor, you'll find a bedroom with a queen-size bed made of natural wood posts, as well as a beautifully updated bathroom with an open stall shower.

Ascend the ladder to reach the loft, which features two twin trundle beds and a half-bath in a perfectly snug space. A queen-size sofabed in the living room provides additional accommodations.

And whether you spend your days splashing in the calm waters of Lake Tahoe or flying down the slopes at Northstar, you'll always return home to a private washer and dryer for your wet and snowy clothes.

Thanks to its stunning lakefront location, the community of Carnelian Bay is an ideal destination for all lovers of the California outdoors. Aspiring and experienced anglers can join Reel-Lentless Fishing Charters for a day out on the water, while golfers can play nine holes at the Old Brockway Golf Course just three miles east.

In search of world class snow sports? Northstar has 100 trails and seven terrain parks, while Squaw Valley offers world-class skiing at the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced athlete, you'll have more than 170 trails, four terrain parks, and 16 bowls to choose from.

A classic Lake Tahoe vacation is within your reach - this gorgeous Carnelian Bay cabin will show you the best of the Sierras in every season! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

I love this cabin and the area that it is in. This was my third stay and I'm sure I will stay again and again. The only thing missing is that I wish the outside bulbs that line the A-Frame would come on. It would look so pretty, not to mention feel more safe from the inside, if they could be on at night. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

We loved the jacuzzi and the proximity to everything. The place was clean and stocked well overall. Safeway is only 5min away for food and coffee. We loved the jacuzzi and the neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. There was an alarm system supposedly but no way to arm/disarm from what we saw...We also loved the classic A frame type home style.

We loved all the old charm of this cabin with new age touches. It really is a special place! The hot tub was definitely one of the major perks. We will be back. Thank you for providing such an amazing space! One thing i will suggest is a better mattress for the main bedroom.

The cabin is a great.... I will come back

The size is just right for two people and the location cannot be beat! I had trouble with the front door lock and kitchen door lock as well, but it just sticks some, but we managed. The only thing that was disappointing is that we couldn't the outside lights to come on. There were a lot of light switches inside but they aren't labled and they don't work so it's hard to know what they're for. Other than those couple of things, this is a great place and it's the second time I've stayed and I will stay again for sure!!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The layout and the amenities were quite impressive as was the location, just a 100 yards or so from the lake.

Location, overall rustic ambiance, and amenities were great! Bring a sleep mask if you are a light sleeper, the lack of curtains will have you up with the sun! Would stay here again!

The lower floor is ok, the upper floor cramped. No blinds = you will wake up at dawn. Unless the cleaning staff is replaced, you will start your visit by cleaning up.

Very Close to Tahoe City and King.
Off the main road but far enough so really quite to sleep all windows open in the summer time
Perfect A frame home with a lot of Charm to the place.
Neighbors were friendly and welcoming
Perfect week vacation in the Summer Time - we will come back

A bit messy when we arrived. The home is a block away from the beach, but you have to drive to get to an area where you can enter a public beach. Parking was challenging this time of year. The hot tub at the home was really the best feature. Lots of towels and linens were provided. It was a cute place for a few days.

Nice cozy cabin, close to fun stuff to do in the Summer. Excellent hot tub. Has most things you need, my only complaint was that there were no blinds or curtains on any of the windows.
Manager response:
The owner has no plans to install blinds at this time. We are sorry if this causes any inconvenience or discomfort for our guests.
John M. Jun 2017
Not having curtains on the windows made for early wake ups whether you like it or not. No screens on the windows make for either a hot stuffy atmosphere or mosquitoes and mice roaming your cabin. Either way it was not pleasant.
Manager response:
We're sorry the guest had some issues with the lack of curtains and screens. Unfortunately, they didn't call us during their stay, to provide us with the opportunity to resolve their concerns.

Not bad but blinds or shades in the bedroom would have scored the max across the board!

Everything was great and the staff, especially Scheyer, were terrific to work with. I would recommend this cabin to any of my friends.

Comfortable beds, new appliances. The ladder to the loft is rickety and not good for kids. Our 15 year old actually fell down it. The cabin is really charming though, and in a great location. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall loved the sunshine cabin, we had a wonderful time.

As soon as pull up, you are greeted by the cutest little cabin. Rustic, yet modern. This place had everything you need! Perfect winter getaway, and would love to stay in the summer!

Great spot for a couple! Not right on the lake, but still a cabin in the woods. Definitely recommend.

Loved the cabin....created wonderful memories in a unique setting .

This stay was great! You are just a skip, hop and a jump to many things. Great restaurants, Kings Beach and Tahoe City are all near by. I love Tahoe! Would definitely recommend anyone staying at this cabin, great for two people but can fit more if needed. The area around the cabin was perfect for morning walks as well.
Paul R. Sep 2016
The cabin is nice inside, cute decor. Not very clean. The outside is very rough. Not far off main highway , road noise . Good for a couple or folks with older kids, would feel tight for more. Loft ladder is steep. Bed down stairs is comfortable and kitchen is small, cute and well stocked.
Sasha W. Sep 2016
We loved this adorable cabin. The perfect size and very cozy. We would 100% stay here again when visiting the Tahoe area.
Tara K. Sep 2016
New washer and dryer, and great downstairs bathroom! All updated! This is a rustic cabin, so expect some dust and cobwebs, but it didn't affect our stay in the slightest. The hot tub was so great to have after a day of hiking, and the beds are very comfortable! Everything is close - Safeway grocery, tons of eating options, hiking trails, kayak/SUP rentals on the Lake, and the best view of the stars and Milky Way you will ever see!

My husband and 1 yr old daughter stayed here for three nights! It was a wonderful experience! The house and accommodations were great and the area is just. Beautiful! This house was perfect for us...we are even considering bringing another small family next time because we want to share the love!
Felicity E. Jul 2016
Sunshine Cabin is a delightful spot. The owners have generously left some items in the house - books, games, art - without making you feel you're intruding on their lives. The hot tub has powerful jets and feels secluded in spite of the neighboring street. Linens and kitchenware are good quality and plentiful. Cold beer in the fridge was a welcome treat! Traffic noise from the lakeside highway a block away was apparent, but not problematic. Excellent value and a definite come-again. Thank you!
Karaline M. Jun 2016
The perfect cozy cabin! They had everything you needed, and even though the quarters were tight (loft sleeping up ladder) there is plenty of outdoor space.
