Colonial home with a yard & deck, close to golf & skiing!

Surround yourself with colonial charm at this five-bedroom Killington home, a spacious and private country retreat with two wood-burning fireplaces, a large yard and deck, and a wonderful location close to hiking, skiing, and golfing.

Tucked in a grove of trees along Route 100, this three-level home is just three miles north of the Green Mountain National Golf Course and Gifford Woods State Park. Skiers, snowboarders, and mountain bikers will also be only six miles from Pico Mountain and nine miles from the six spectacular peaks of Killington - access either via the Diamond Express shuttle (free until 5pm).

Whether you're planning a reunion with friends or a ski vacation with kids, you'll feel right at home in the renovated living space. Park your vehicle in the two-car garage and enter the house through the den, which features a slate stone fireplace to help warm you up on snowy evenings.

The living room, which is full of country decor, is a wonderful gathering place for groups, as it offers a second wood-burning fireplace, a 50-inch flatscreen cable TV, a DVD player, and a collection of board games for all ages. WiFi is also available, just in case you want to catch up on work or check the latest snow report.

Planning to cook for a crowd? You can do so with ease in the full kitchen, where you'll find a generous selection of culinary tools and appliances. Serve pancakes and bacon with local Vermont maple syrup in the dining room for 10, and simply stack the plates in the dishwasher to take care of the clean-up.

Just beyond the back door, you'll discover a spacious deck with views of the surrounding trees - the perfect place to relax with a good book, a cold microbrew, or a cup of coffee at the patio table.

With five bedrooms that each have their own theme, Lewis Lodge can accommodate as many as 10 guests during your Vermont vacation. Head upstairs to find one bedroom with a king-size bed, one with a queen-size bed and twin, one with a set of twin bunk beds, and a fourth with a full bed. Back on the main floor, there is one bedroom with a queen and twin.

Additional amenities include a Xbox 360 gaming system in one of the upstairs bedrooms, a private laundry room, and a futon for a bit of extra sleeping space.

If you're searching for a vacation destination full of family-friendly recreation, look no further than this gorgeous region of Vermont! In the snowy winter months, you'll be just a short drive from Killington, where you and your family can choose from six peaks, 73 miles of ski trails, six terrain parks, and a total of 22 lifts.

In the glorious summer and autumn, you'll be just down the road from the Green Mountain National Golf Course and the lovely trails of Gifford Woods State Park. Planning to bring your mountain bike along? You'll have 36 designated trails at Killington to choose from, which traverse a total of 45 miles.

With someone to shuttle you to and from trail heads, this is a convenient location near, but not too near, Rutland. Also well placed for local attractions such as: Norman Rockwell Museum, Calvin Coolidge Museum, Long Trail Brewery, State Forests, waterfalls, etc.
