Loved this place! Will stay again!
I loved everything about the home. Being able to get away with the kids and technology was relaxing. We initially won a stay at an auction and ended up extending an additional day. We didn’t want to go home. I would recommend this place and look forward to going back!
We had a great time at this house. We loved how open the floor plan was. We fit 2 families with kids perfectly plus the kids loved the kid room and plenty of space outdoors to run around in. It was a drive in to town but we didn't mind because the kids enjoyed seeing the deer along the way. We would definitely stay again. The kitchen was amazing for cooking meals and the huge farm table fit both of our families.
Legacy is the perfect getaway for our group of friends. It’s so perfect that this was our second time to visit! We had plenty of space to spread out and complete various projects and lots to explore on a long walk outside. The kitchen is well-appointed for group meals and the shelf of games kept us entertained on cold nights. Sitting on the deck watching the birds is so entertaining. Everything about Legacy is perfect for a weekend with friends.
The property was very nice. We loved the space of the main living area and being out away from the noise of town.
Great house and patio, well stocked kitchen, reasonably priced, centrally located.
The home is as described. Our family enjoyed that the house was spacious, and comfortable. There was enough room for 8, and then some. The back patio was an added bonus. Feed the birds and watch them flutter back and forth all day. We were close to Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock. We even took a day trip to New Braunfels (about 2 hours away) for tubing on the Comal River. The only negative, if you consider it a negative, was the wifi. There was poor reception. We didn't care much because we went to get away. We loved playing board games around the large dining room table. Will definitely stay again!
Had so much room , it’s clean, all we had to bring was the coffee ! The outside deck was so relaxing we will be back !
We had a critter join us on our girls trip. Please make sure to have house treated for rodents.
My sisters and I had a great weekend here. The back deck was pleasant to sit on and watch the wildlife. We enjoyed watching the variety of birds that came to the feeders. When it got too hot in the afternoon, we could continue to see them from the large windows across the back of the house. In addition to the birds, we saw rabbits, squirrels, and a fox. We also enjoyed playing the games that were provided. The house was clean and comfortable. For those with mobility issues, there is a ramp to get in the house.
The house and property are absolutely beautiful. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. We had 4 adults and 4 kids in our group and had plenty of space for everyone. We truly enjoyed our weekend at Legacy Hideaway and thank the owners for sharing their special vacation home!
Great spot to spend time with family and friends
We liked it so much we have stayed twice in 6 months!
Spent Christmas at the Legacy Hideaway. House was very comfortable and clean. Loved the surrounding 15 acres - lots of wildlife and deer to watch from the house. You are about a 20 minute drive to Fredricksburg so keep that in mind if you are wanting to stay closer into town. Very peaceful and quiet — highly recommend this secluded hideaway!
This home is perfect to enjoy with family or a small group of friends. Fredericksburg is close by as well as many wineries. It very open and comfortable. Our family of 6 was there for a wedding and it was a nice stay.
The house was just as advertised, very clean, adequate cooking space and appliances, awsome property to walk around and use the fire pit. I would definetly stay there again!
The only downside is that it was a 20-30 min drive into downtown Fredericksburg and another 20-30 mins if you wanted to go to Garrison Brothers, or the wineries near there.
The house was very homey! You could tell that the owners put a lot of thought into making our stay comfortable and entertaining. The property itself was absolutely beautiful. Hated to leave, but most certainly will be back.
This house was wonderful! Plenty of room. Very peaceful. The back porch was a great place to sit, drink coffee, and watch the birds. Highly recommend!
Loved the place. Lots of room for 3 couples and plenty to do outside the house and in Fredricksburg. It was nice to get away in the country and enjoy nature.
A lovely home at the end of a caliche road. Quiet, secluded. Meticulously maintained. Clean, well equipped. You will love this spacious home. Easy drive to Fredericksburg and Kerrville. Don't miss a stop at The Ridge on FM 783 just off I10 at Kerrville. Wondercul food, bakery, gift shop and nursery. Wonderful staff. Stop by the empty cross, easily seen from highway. Wonderful sculture garden.
This home is a hill country gem.
This was our 2nd time staying and as always we are pleased with this property. You are away from it all but still close enough to the city to go and do some shopping. We had a great time and look forward to coming back.
Me and 6 of my girlfriends stayed here for a mom's weekend away. The location is out in the middle of nowhere it felt like, but it was so quiet and peaceful. Plenty of deer running around. It was just a quick drive into Fredericksburg. For the price, we were very satisfied and would definitely stay here again!
We loved this home! I chose the home to host a bachelorette weekend. The drive wasn't bad to Fredericksburg at all, and the home was very accommodating for a bigger group. The windows/scenery contributed to the atmosphere, too. We loved our stay!
My brother and sister-in-law have a farm house in Harper where we celebrate our family Christmas every year. We normally stay in Fredericksburg and drive to Harper each day so we were thrilled to find a rental property that was close to them this year! My immediate family was able to stay comfortably and enjoy a close commute to the Annual Christmas celebration! The home is perfect for families. The home is very clean and welcoming. The living room and kitchen area is huge! We even had enough room for an impromptu family dancing session! We created wonderful memories and hope to make this an annual stay! Thank you for welcoming us into your home!
Great location and beautiful outdoor space. Good for large groups and families. Star gazing on porch is a must!
There is so much to say about this beautiful home. It is big, clean, quite, roomy, beautiful deck. Our first night we spent star gazing. We had coffee in the morning on the deck and beer and peanuts on the deck at night. It was so quite...no cars, no trains, no neighbors and loud parties. I especially loved the rates. We will definitly be back.
If you are looking for a house in the middle of nowhere, this is definitely the place for you. It is at the end of a mile long one lane dirt road. There are absolutely no lights anywhere to see for miles. We stayed when there was no moon and overcast, so the nights were completely dark. There is no lighting up the front of the house except for the front porch lights. Family photos in the house made it a bit creepy. Also, there are no window coverings in the living room where my two teenage daughters slept (pull out sofa). They were totally freaked out.
We had a great time. The house was in a secluded area but we felt safe with the electric gate. The house was nice and roomy. Loved the gas stove! Great water pressure. The few downfalls were they only have one TV in the living room, none of the bedrooms had a TV and in the bedroom with the pull down beds there was nowhere for you to hang your clothes. The closet had shelves but no bar to hang stuff. The beds were a little to firm for my taste but the others said they were fine.
We came out on a Friday and stayed until Monday. Our daughter, son-in-law and two beautiful grand children, age 3 and 6 months came out the next day to spend one night, and my husband's dad and step mother came out also on Saturday for the day to celebrate with us. This place was amazing, and was so spacious for all. Our grand daughter loved the small size table, chairs, art eisel and especially the play tent along with some of the other toys provided for guest. I was very impressed with the selection of games for all ages that were available in the home - board games, puzzles, reading material, horseshoes, croquet and more , along with how well the home was equipped with everything we needed, including binoculars and guide books for identifying the birds, bugs and snakes (although we thankfully didn't need that one). All the furnishings were so comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and kitchen utensils, a gas grill, patio furniture and even the covered car port came in handy when it decided to rain the day we had to pack up and leave.
I would certainly encourage anyone that wanted to get away yet still have it all to consider Legacy Hideaway as a top choice. You can't beat the scenery, wildlife, and the price was so much better than many choices we had considered. Far enough out in the country to enjoy peace and privacy, yet close enough to run into the quaint town of Harper to the cafe or into Fredricksburg for tons of shopping. And of course no shortage of wineries! The Texas Chisolm Trail winery just about 5 miles down the road was one of our favorites. Definitely plan on making plans for more stays in the future....maybe even an annual trip for our anniversary! As Anita says "Come out and Make Memories" ...we sure have and plan to do more soon! Thank you Anita, because of you and Legacy Hideaway we have made special memories.

I enjoyed the legacy hideaway with my daughter, her boyfriend and his two daughters (7 &8). The small touches were amazing - the frames to take pictures with, the instructions to fill hummingbird feeders, the horse shoe and washer rings, the crystals for bath, the binoculars to enjoy wildlife, the games to enjoy - we enjoyed all of them! The living room area/ couch was sooo comfy with the checkers to enjoy right there. The house was clean and so much living space. The dining room table was comfortable and loved the different seating options with chairs and bench.
Thank you for helping us to create memories of a lifetime.
We had a nice relaxing weekend with our family. Legacy Hideaway had very thoughtful amenities for us to enjoy. The kids had a play area, games and sporting equipment. The adults enjoyed the outdoors where we relaxed on the deck and birdwatched, walked the property and loved seeing deer and wild turkeys! At night, we were mesmerized by all of the stars! The couch was spacious and comfortable for us to all sit and watch the game. Fredericksburg is about a 15 minute drive away and we enjoyed the restaurants, wineries and shopping. Thanks for the perfect space for all 8 of us to come together!
We had a great time. The rental was very clean and spacious. Everyone enjoyed the bird watching. The binoculars were a plus. The kids liked being able to identify the birds and bugs they saw with the helpful pamphlets. We enjoyed all of the words of wisdom placed all over the house, which inspired us to make our own. The kids had a blast with the tent, games, and all the wild life. We saw turkeys, deer, goats, jack rabbits and armadillos. The place was very peaceful and we would love to come back.
If you love a tranquil surrounding filled with beautiful wildlife, vegetation, and scenery, you should add this home and its 15 acres to your Favorites! The property is gated, secluded, and beautiful. The host thought of everything, even down to a "Welcome" gift of makings for S'mores and a washer/dryer to do one's laundry before leaving for home! So enjoyed relaxing on the deck to observe deer coming up to the pond to drink, hummingbirds feeding at the numerous feeders, turkeys wandering through the area, many species of birds enjoying the fresh airspace, etc. Was also 'at-home' as we sat and visited on the huge, over-sized sectional sofa and watched the Olympics on television. Loved reading about the timeline of the property and how it came to be. The host's writings made us feel as though we were part of the process/family. We will definitely be returning to this 'favorite' property.
We stayed here June 10-12 and had a great time! We met some friends and their kids - there were 7 of us and we were very comfortable staying here. My husband and I slept in the room with the murphy beds and we both thought they were SO comfortable. The kitchen is great - we cooked several meals and had everything we needed. The kids were so excited about the s'mores kit waiting for us when we arrived! We also went in to Fredericksburg for some shopping and to eat out a few times. We would definitely stay here again.
