Adorable, dog-friendly mountain home w/ a yard in a great location

Cozy and rustic, this Big Bear home for three (plus dogs) is a great spot to visit for a relaxing vacation any time of year. Enjoy everything from a great location to wonderful home essentials for the perfect family or friend getaway.

This charming cabin is surrounded by the beautiful mountainous nature and trees so you can immerse yourself in all Big Bear has to offer. Sparkling Big Bear Lake is just a few streets away for summer fun, and winter sports can be found at Snow Summit three miles away and Bear Mountain Resort about five miles away.

Stunning wood floors, a vaulted wood ceiling, and tasteful decor create a space you can relax in and simply enjoy time together with loved ones.

The main living area is open and feels spacious. Light the wood fireplace and collapse on the sofa after a day on the slopes. Flip on the flatscreen TV (cable streaming via SlingTV, movies, and WiFi provided) to watch a movie during a quiet night in, or step across the room to the dining table for four to play games after a delicious home-cooked meal.

Don't let the compact size of the kitchen fool you! Along with major appliances, a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, slow cooker, and blender are provided, making each mealtime a breeze. You can dine outside while gazing at the wildflowers that grow in the yard.

Before climbing into bed, rinse off in the full bathroom's tub/shower combo. One bedroom features a nice queen-size bed, and the other has two twin beds, giving up to three guests places to rest. Additionally, your furry friends are allowed to tag along, just note that an additional pet fee applies.

Escape the heat and head up to the mountains in the summer to swim, boat, fish, and parasail at Big Bear Lake. Rent kayaks, paddleboards, jet skis, and more at the marina, then grab a bite to eat and get in some retail therapy at The Village just down the street. Obviously winter is a wonderful time to visit as the snow covers the ground. Head into the backyard to have a snowball fight, build forts, and snowshoe. Drive up to either of the resorts to downhill ski and snowboard to your heart's content. Magic Mountain is a great attraction any time of year, as well. Ride the alpine slide, water slide, snow tube, or play mini-golf.

There's no doubt booking this adorable Southern California home will bring your group a memorable getaway.

We loved the big deck and backyard and all the little homely touches. It is just the right distance from the village and close to a couple of nice restaurants, a brewery and a country store. The bidet even with cold water was a nice addition.
The cabin itself could do with a few upgrades here and there, but all in all we enjoyed our stay
Donald C. Jun 2021
The cabin was very clean, the neighborhood was quiet, and the shower pressure was awesome.

Nice cozy cabin with a great backyard to hang out in and watch wildlife. Not too far from the village and a short walk from bear mountain brewery.
Jari B. Apr 2021
We had a great week at this cabin. Everything was very clean and comfortable. It was walking distance from food and a great hike only half a mile away. The deck was amazing for working out, eating and relaxing. Would definitely come back here again!
Cathy C. Apr 2021
The cabin was very clean and had a lot of board games. Loved the huge deck in the back.

Our family loved the Dream Catcher Cabin. It was perfect for us. Great location, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Will definitely be back!

Great cozy place and perfect for location. House has everything you need. The patio is a great hangout spot to enjoy Mother Nature. We will be back.
Michelle N. Oct 2020
We loved our stay and hope to return! Aside from what others have mentioned, a few unexpected things just made the place so special: the outdoor deck with bluetooth speakers, mini foosball table, and the bidet. The only VERY minor thing was that we were looking forward to the outdoor grill as described on the site, but when we arrived, house rules said that use of charcoal BBQs was not allowed. I'm assuming that it was because of local regulations and conditions, but it would be helpful to know before showing up. Again, it was super minor and we would go back in a heartbeat.
Manager response:
Hi Michelle, we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We apologize that you weren't able to use the grill during your visit. It has now been removed as an amenity. We are so glad that you had fun and than you so much for your feedback. We would love to host you again in the future!

We loved spending our 9th anniversary at the DreamCatcher cabin for our 1st visit to Big Bear! What a great escape! We were able to disconnect from our day to day and reconnect with each other. The cabin provided all we needed for a relaxing getaway. Loved the conversation starter chat pack card game and the fireplace! Be sure to bring a bundle of firewood per night and some kindling/newspaper! The bed was super comfy. Loved the windows in the 2nd bedroom, nice to sit back and enjoy a book and look out at nature. Huge deck too! We enjoyed nature walking at Bakers Pond, dinner at the Himalayan and lunch at 572 Social Kitchen. Beautiful!

Loved our weekend stay in this cute cabin. Super cozy, has all the essentials, and clean. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood in the morning and a short drive to Summit. Thank you!

We loved staying here. The house is so cute and well decorated and made our summer trip to Big Bear so special!
Melissa W. Feb 2019
The customer service our family received from Vacasa was outstanding. We received a call from Jaime, while we were on our way, to make sure we knew the normal routes up the mountain were closed due to storm. That evening, when the storm caused an issue with the cabin the Vacasa staff was quick to respond. They did everything possible to make sure our family was enjoying our stay. I would absolutely recommend staying with them. Our family will certainly be booking with them again.
Erika Y. Jan 2019
The location was perfect for snow boarding, relaxing and shopping for our family of 5 and our dog. We definitely plan to return.

We loved our stay at the Dream Catcher. My fiance and I stayed there for the weekend and it was the perfect house for the two of us, it was just what we needed! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. They had everything we needed in terms of appliances and the yard and back porch was great for our dog! Great house for an affordable cost and great location! Would recommend for anyone and will definitely stay there again!
Nichole W. Oct 2018
My husband, myself our 7 month old son and our two dogs stayed at Dream catcher in October. The Vabin was so warm, cozy and inviting and had everything we needed to cook, sleep, bathe and sleep. The Neighbors was quite and the people we did encounter were so friendly. Our dogs are a huge part of our family and getting to bring them was wonderful. It's just minutes from the village and if you stroll the neighborhood you can actually see the lake. If we didnt have other plans for Christmas we would definitely be going back, we will for sure be going back in January to see some snow
Jacqualyn G. Oct 2018
We had the most relaxing week. The home was lovely and within close proximity to amenities. The trees, birds & squirrels where entertaining. The air was pure and delicious. I would definitely do a repeat. A must to visit. Bring my dog was a big plus.
Evelyn P. Sep 2018
This little cabin was perfect for us and our little pup to enjoy 3 relaxing nights and perfect weather. Although small, the owners have layed out scale perfect furnishings in a way as to not trip over each other and able to easily get around. We have rented numerous properties over the years and SO very happy to see how clean it is kept both inside and out. Many vacation rental properties have cob webs and dust bunnies from standing vacant between rentals and don't clean to our standards. So thank you to the owners and Vacasa for caring about that!

We enjoyed relaxing on the back deck and also happy for the privacy on this occasion as the homes on either side were not occupied during our stay. We did lots of walking and enjoyed daily trips to the village with many fine pet friendly restaurants. We will rent this home again and highly recommend. The only thing we missed was a larger bed and bathroom. However not to worry as where they lacked in counter space was made up by a shelving unit and medicine cabinet to hold your toiletries. Thank you for sharing your home!
Joe A. Aug 2018
Location, very clean comfortable, all you need very accessable
Angela J. Aug 2018
This cabin was just the right size for us and our two dogs. Located in a quiet neighborhood but close to the village and marina. It was rather warm inside when we first got in but the box fans that were provided helped cool the cabin down.
Alejandra A. Jul 2018
Fully stocked kitchen. Big deck in back.
Francisco S. Jul 2018
Toda la cabaña esta perfecta.
La terraza muy bonita para estar disfrutando una carne asada y jugar.
Big bear lake es hermoso.
E Eilene T. Jun 2018
This home was absolutely perfect
Marvin M. Jun 2018
This cabin was centrally located to every event we attended. The cabin was small, but roomy enough for a family of 4 to enjoy. The owner ensured that every accoutrement needed were available for usage. We were able to cook and grill without needing to buy additional utensils. "Everything was provided." The only problem we encountered was parking our 2500 Chevy into the small parking area. The cabin also get warm between 11am and 5pm. There is a fan available, but no air conditioning.
Saeid G. Mar 2018
We had a lovely time, the home is relaxing an peaceful

Carrie T. Jan 2018
Our family had a wonderful stay at the dream catcher, it was exactly what we needed! Very clean and cozy, can't wait to visit on the warmer months to take advantage of the beautiful deck! We will return!
Marianne G. Nov 2017
Very sweet cabin. Parking was a little weird but other than that, there are no complaints. It was a nice, quiet place to stay.
Jasmine S. Oct 2017
We are a family of 3, and 2 dogs. We needed a pet friendly cabin to rent for our little get away, and the Dream Catcher was absolutely perfect! Lots of space for all of us, an incredible back yard for the pups and 3 year old to play in, amazing deck to lounge on, and a quiet neighborhood to relax in! We felt like we fit right in at this cabin, and we loved every second of being there. The beds were comfy, the fireplace was wonderful, everything was clean and easy to use and find! We have already recommended 3 people to stay here! It is definitely worth it and we can't wait to come back!
Sandra Ann . Oct 2017
I was pleasantly surprised that this cabin was so much more than it lists online. It had everything you could need from DVD's, games, books and a fully stocked Kitchen. The fireplace was romantic (bring your own wood), great BBQ area and very roomy 2 bedroom cabin. I want to recommend it, but I'm afraid it won't be available the next time I go! The only drawback is that it isn't in walking distance to the Village, but it's a short drive. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great getaway!!
Kathleen C. Oct 2017
Mother, Daughter and dog had a relaxing quiet visit. We came up in the middle of the week, left Saturday morning. Location was great, back deck was great.
TV system could have been better - Apple TV didn't make up for not having basic networks and after hiking during the day we wanted to relax with news and evening shows. (No ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX). The fireplace was great to have but nothing kept the 2nd bedroom from freezing at night. A small space heater would have fixed this problem. The wall heater going to the Master and living room didn't reach the back bedroom.

Christine F. Sep 2017
Our favorite part was the outdoor space below the deck. The perfect amount of space for my 4 year old to explore in.
Jan P. Aug 2017
Very nice property..great deck..quiet neighborhood. Great for family and pets
Michelle A. Aug 2017
We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.
Crystal C. Aug 2017
Dream catcher was perfect for a family of four, kitchen had everything we needed. Back deck was our favorite part, kids were entertained with Netflix at night and the view from the deck was beautiful. Close to everything we needed!
Candice C. Jul 2017
House was great. Walking distance to a market and restaurant. Short drive to town and lake. Deck was great.
Yvette A. Jul 2017
Perfect little cozy home and dog friendly.
Pros: Quiet home near the Village, nice balcony, pure air, surrounded by beautiful pine trees, home is perfect for dogs as is easy to clean floors, etc. kitchen fully stocked with appliances, plates, mugs, etc. just bring yourself and your favorite food to cook. Inside home is very cozy and relaxing. Overall, home is clean we could not tell that dogs have been there before, they do an excellent job in keeping the house clean and smelling good. Be sure to bring flash light it very dark at night.
Cons: Ask cleaning crew to drive the trash out to specified location and not guests. Guest are there to relax and not to drive the trash out. Add a comfortable mattress topper in queen bed. Apple TV in master bedroom keep prompting us to register TV programs on Apple's web site such as TV program "The Profit" this was annoying. Overall, we'll stay at this home again. There is no perfect vacation spot, this is as good as it's gets! This home is perfect for a small family. Perfect for re-grounding your your energy, breathe some pure fresh air, observe lots of beautiful birds and squirrels playing around the house then return back to work refreshed. Five stars from us! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cute little home.
Robert M. Jul 2017
Overall the house was great. It was a little outdated but clean and cozy. Vacasa was prompt at responding to inquiries and even brought new fans over because the cabin was warm during the day. For the price, this place is great. The back deck is nice in the morning and evenings-- lots of birds and squirrels to keep you entertained. If you are looking for something newly renovated or close to the water, you will be paying a bit more. Overall great vacation. Thanks!
Arlet M. May 2017
I needed a getaway with my daughters. This cabin was perfect and was so cozy. Very quiet and we felt safe.
Jennifer L. Apr 2017
My husband and I spent our 1 year anniversary at this cabin and we absolutely loved it! The location was great - a short walk to town with restaurants and activities. The only complaint I have is the Master bed was not that comfortable and the backyard patio was not completely enclosed for our dog. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We definitely recommend this adorable cabin and will be back soon!
Nicole M. Apr 2017
We really enjoyed the open living space... it was quite comfortable for our family of three and two dogs. Kitchen was well supplied, so we could enjoy home cooked meals. Also like the back porch and yard.

However, my husband and I could not really get a good night's sleep on the mattress in the master bedroom. I think the top mattress had collapsed and it was super painful. My daughter said she slept fine in her room. The other issue we had was the hot water in the shower. It wouldn't last more the 5 to 10 before going cold! It fault for not calling it in. We were just more focused on enjoying the area.

Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant.
Manager response:
Maintenance is working on the hot water, and the owner has been asked to purchase a new mattress topper. We hope to have both issues rectified quickly!
Angelica C. Mar 2017
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is well kept and clean, the neighbor hood is quiet, close to the lake and a short drive to the slopes. It was the perfect size for our family of 3 plus our dog Lola! Thanks!
Jeff S. Mar 2017
We had a great time in this cabin! Short walk down to the lake and the back deck was very pleasant.
Mark W. Mar 2017
Worm and cozy. Stayed first week in March. A great place to relax. And the price was right. Dogs loved the place also. Close to town and lake and other great things to do.
Caroline S. Feb 2017
Cute & clean cabin. Perfect for family of four. Two twin beds for the kids. All the beds were comfortable. Décor was great. Living room with fireplace was very cozy. We had to purchase our own wood. Couch was very comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked with everything. We would have like ESPN as part of the cable package. The deck and backyard were amazing. The kids spent endless time out there sledding. Loved this cabin! Wish it was ours.
Jesus R. Jan 2017
We loved our stay
Isabel G. Nov 2016
We had a great time and wanted to stay longer. The cabin is small but very warm and cozy. There was 5 of us and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is small but I was able to make an early Thanksgiving dinner comfortably. We would come back again!
Kathleen C. Nov 2016
Lovely little cabin within walking distance to town center. If you're looking for a place that has the feel of a cabin for a get away you can't go wrong with this one. Lovely back porch and nice homey feel.
Ashley W. Nov 2016
The property is very nice, clean and well maintained. My husband and I's only complaint was the main bed, it was unbearably uncomfortable. If the mattress was replaced, we would definitely stay here again.
Mario & Sabrina G. Oct 2016
Loved how pet friendly this house is beautiful area to walk your dog. So cozy and the fireplace was perfect.
Darlene P. Oct 2016
Great time at the Dream Catcher cabin. It was well furnished and clean. The beds we really comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water. I plan to return in a few months.
Mishelle F. Oct 2016
What a great escape from the city! Our family had a such a good weekend. Our only complaint is.. We didn't stay long enough.
We'll be back.
Kelly K. Sep 2016
We had a wonderful stay at the dream catcher cabin! If you are visiting during warmer months, definitely bring a fan! Can't wait to rent this place again!
Chris P. Aug 2016
Great place everything we needed!
Amanda A. Aug 2016
We had an amazing time and were very comfortable with our three kids. They loved the cabin and felt like they were camping with all the comforts of home. You do have to watch for splinters and we did bring a couple fans (highly recommended). We will definitely stay here again!
Margot L. Aug 2016
Cute place and well supplied with e a beautiful back porch to lounge in the mountain range. Not walkable to the front drive of town...the .8 mils quoted in the description is to the back end, so it means short drive to the front main entrance.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a few days of pretty quiet time.
Yaneth S. Aug 2016
Conveniently located to restaurants, lake, The Village and hiking trails. My family truly enjoyed.
Charles S. Aug 2016
nice last minute place. bring a fan if it is hot.
Lawana C. Aug 2016
Great place to relax. Bring your own food and save money. Put aside money for Big Bear Lake activities.. You can rent a boat, take a tour, jet skis.. Shop in little village. Not a party spot..unless you're coming with a big group of young people. Just a place to relax from crazy city life.
Nick P. Jul 2016
Good place and location...Very crowded and lots of traffic on the weekend.
Anna N. Jul 2016
My husband and I stayed in this house for 2 nights with our 2 dogs and it was great! It's a cute, little place in a great location- close to the lake and Village. The parking is a tad tricky getting out, but we got used to it. It was very homey and comfortable inside. It being the middle of summer, we didn't use the fireplace, but I could imagine how nice that would be in the winter. Thankfully, we brought a fan after reading a review because the home does get very warm during the day but with the fan, it was nice. The description said it had everything we needed in the kitchen and it did. I was a little nervous to use the stove and oven because it was a bit older then I'm used to but both worked great. Also, there is no dishwasher so everything was washed by hand which wasn't a problem. The back is very big and our dogs enjoyed it but their fur did not. There were a lot of bur-like things stuck in their fur that I had to brush out so they weren't allowed to frolic there after that. We had a great time in Big Bear and are thankful this place did not disappoint.
IWAO O. Jul 2016
Great place to stay for family with pet!
Donald B. Jul 2016
Stayed during the summer. This cabin is very close to everything. Lake activities are always great up here. If you stay in summer pack a nice big fan, these cabins can get hot during the day and a nice fan in the window blowing the hot air out will bring in the nice evening cool air from the other open windows. Overall great stay. Loved the huge patio, only wish it had a propane grill rather then a charcoal one.
Bruce S. Jun 2016
The pictures don't accurately convey how tiny this home is... While it has every feature listed, everything is small. Parking is very inconvenient. There is zero insulation in the ceiling, so our summer stay was blessed by 100 degree heat in the home when we checked in. Even with all doors (no screen doors, so hello bugs) and windows wide open, the temperature at midnight was still 80f in the house...slept on top of the covers and sweated. Don't use the fan in the bathroom, the heating element and fan are on the same switch!! My son left the fan on to clear the room after showering, and when we returned an hour, it was hot in there.
