Two spacious riverfront home w/dock, firepit, large deck, great views - dogs ok

Catch up on some much-needed rest and relaxation by the beautiful Umpqua riverfront with your large family or a gathering of friends at this spacious dog-friendly Scottsburg vacation rental. Up to 13 guests and a couple dogs will enjoy a quaint and quiet riverfront retreat with modern conveniences, an expansive wrap-around deck, a dock, riverfront picnic area in the huge 2 acres of space, and plenty of outdoor activities just beyond your doors. Quick access to Reedsport for coastal adventures.

Fishermen rejoice: With this home's riverfront location on the amazing Umpqua River, great fishing is just steps away, so bring along your poles and tackle for seasonal shad, salmon, and steelhead runs on the Umpqua River, as well as the smallmouth bass present year-round. Charming Reedsport is also just up the road, so head just 14 miles west on the Umpqua Highway for grocery stores, eclectic eateries, and coastal entertainment in town. Of course, the Oregon Dunes are accessible near Reedsport and activities such as clamming in Winchester Bay are also easily accessible.

This summertime rental provides a unique experience since the property has two homes - one two-story A-frame house and one split-level contemporary house. The bright and open homes welcome large families, multi-family vacations, or a getaway with special friends. Your group will quickly feel at ease with its thoughtful river-themed decor, wood paneled walls and ceilings, tiled floors, and comfortable furnishings.

Each of the two homes includes a full kitchen, as well as living and dining spaces. The A-frame has two bedrooms, one full bath, one three-quarter bath with shower, and two half-baths, while the contemporary house has three bedrooms and two full baths.

Catch up on a favorite cable series on one of the TVs, take an afternoon nap on a couch, or gather the group for board game fun on a rainy day. If it's dry outside, grab a few baseball gloves and head onto the large backyard lawn to play catch, or bring a tennis ball to play toss with your dogs (with a small nightly fee, your dogs are welcome to join in the fun!). Afterwards, head back upstairs to the wraparound deck where you can enjoy lovely evergreen views while sipping a refreshing post-activity cocktail, which you mixed indoors at the wet bar near the kitchen in the A-frame house.

When hunger strikes, quench it with a hearty meal whipped up in either of the full kitchens. Between the two houses, you'll have everything needed for quick and easy meal prep, including varied cookware, modern appliances, and ample granite counters.
And with two full kitchens, whipping up holiday feasts or special dinners will be no problem! Share fresh, homemade meals together at the varied dining spaces, which include a 10-seat dining table in the A-frame and eight kitchen island seats in the contemporary home, though you could also dine al fresco on the decks or patios with outdoor dining table and bistros.

Time to call it a day? Retire for restful slumber in any of five bedrooms. Up to 13 guests are accommodated with sleeping options in both homes. The A-frame house has a master bedroom on the main floor with a king-size bed, plus a loft bedroom with a double bed, a pull-out bed, and the living room has a queen-size sofabed.
The contemporary split-level house has a master bedroom with a king-size bed on the main, upper level. On the lower level is a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, as well as a final bedroom with a twin-over-full bunk.

Other amenities include private washer/dryers for each home, four bathrooms, an outdoor fire pit, gas grills on the upper deck and lower patio, high-speed free WiFi, two kayaks, and even a dock just beyond the yard.

For those looking to commune with the great outdoors, Scottsburg is a great place to put down the cell phone and head outdoors. You won't find good cell phone reception in the area, but what you will find is loads of outdoor adventures and fun day trips. Along the highway that takes you into Reedsport, you'll pass right by the Dean Creek Elk Reserve, which is a fun stop.

Spend a day zipping up and down huge sand dunes on an ATV 23 miles west at Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area, or use the provided kayaks to explore new sections of the Umpqua River. Bring along a pair of sturdy boots for numerous hikes just minutes away in the Oregon Coast Range, or head into Reedsport to check out its antique museums and galleries, including local art on display at the Myrtlewood Gallery (14 miles west) and the Umpqua Discovery Center. Be sure to stop in at the Sugar Shack Bakery in town to fuel up for your adventures!

Visit Scottsburg with a stay in this Southern Oregon Coast vacation home. Boundless outdoor adventures, small-town charm, and modern comfort await! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

We try each year to take our granddaughters to someplace unique and memorable. This year we did this Umpqua Riverfront rental and we were not disappointed. The setting was beautiful with forest and river right in front. The connected houses was exactly what we needed to spread out and still have privacy. The river was slow flowing which allowed for swimming and kayaking. Unfortunately, there was an outdoor burn ban order which did not allow for use of fire pit so made s'mores with gas BBQ instead. We would return to this rental again in future. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Water access isn't very good. Water level changes dramatically with tide. Shore is too steep to navigate except on the gang plank to the dock. Plank is rough rusted metal that has loose pieces (hard for kids and dogs). Dock is too high for dogs to climb on to without help (unless it is sitting on the mud bed at low tide).
House has lots of space and good facility though much of it was constructed roughly (example shower doors aren't hung correctly and are a bit tricky).
Is a nice cabin retreat but given the cost, I expected more of it.
Manager response:
We apologize for these disappointments. The dock is only a few years old and in great condition; it is made of metal that can be a little rough, but it provides excellent traction. We have inspected the shower doors. Thank you!

We arrived at 4 p. M. And were able to visit with the housekeeper there before we moved in. She was awesome and helpful and did a good job finishing up and telling us about the place. It was perfect for 11 with two separate kitchens and nicely appointed bedrooms and bathrooms! they could not have been more perfect for all of us to get together and enjoy some wonderful time kayaking on the beautiful River, visiting nearby Umpqua Discovery Center golf in Reedsport sailing at the lake in Lakeside and visiting Loon Lake for a swim and family picnic. the weather is always a bit cooler there on the Umpqua near the ocean and we were able to escape the Central Valley smoke and heat and enjoyed the most perfect all-around Family Vacation! Thanks to all our hosts and bokassa for making our trip very smooth and enjoyable!
