New to the rental market, this charming cottage at the beginning of the proposed "Wild and Scenic" Molalla River Corridor is the perfect retreat for those seeking a romantic getaway, fly fishing adventure or home base for exploring the area's nearby numerous attractions.
Molalla River Cottage is cozy and bright, tastefully decorated and offers a pleasant respite for those seeking peaceful relaxation in a beautiful rural setting. Entering the front door you will find a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your own meals if desired. As you walk through the kitchen you will find the open living room with gas burning fireplace and hardwood floors. There is a comfy daveno, chairs and day bed for lounging or sleeping. Cozy togetherness awaits whether you choose to relax with a good book or enjoy a movie or music on the DVD player.
This cottage features one large bedroom with queen bed on the opposite end of the house and full bathroom with shower only ( no tub). This getaway is a single level floor plan for those with limited mobility although there are a few steps to the front porch and a step down to the living room. The back porch provides a peaceful place to relax by the creek on a warm and sunny summer day or a BBQ on the gas grill in the evening. While guests cannot bring their own dogs, there are friendly dogs that live near this home, so if there is a pet allergy in your group, keep that in mind.
Perhaps the most appealing feature of this lovely cottage is easy access via a short marked trail through meadow/pasture to the beautiful Molalla River. The trail leading to the river is slightly steep at the end. The river changes with the seasons and the cottage owners provide a lovely sitting area by the river with fire pit for quiet reflection. The river can have strong currents at different times of the year and caution is advised when swimming, fishing, rafting, etc. Renters are advised to check on local conditions and any necessary licenses for fishing, etc.
Sweet Creek Cottage provides a cozy and comfortable stay within easy access of the Molalla River Corridor, Hardy Creek trail system, (horses and mountain bikes, hiking), and the Table Rock Wilderness Area. A drive along this scenic waterway reveals numerous waterfalls and geological features. This charming cottage is a 1 hour drive from Portland, 15 miles from the historic town of Silverton, where you will find the beautiful Oregon Garden and just 7 miles from the rural town of Molalla where full services are provided: groceries, restaurants, medical services, gas, etc.
Molalla is also home of the world famous "Molalla Buckeroo" and Parade during the 4th of July holiday season, professional bull riding events, world class sky diving, city parks, and historic sites. Easy access to numerous sites of interest, rural beauty, and the Molalla River make this retreat a great choice for an active getaway or a quiet and peaceful time of rest and relaxation.

Amazing location away from it all. Relaxed on the deck, enjoying the bird life and sound of the river.
Quiet, clean and secluded but near town.
The cabin was clean, quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed sitting outsid and listening to the birds and sound of the river. There's no TV or internet access so is a good place to get away from it all.
We loved this quiet, peaceful cabin on the molalla river! What a treat to walk through the backyard to a magnificent river! There’s plenty of hiking in the area and we loved it was just 20 minutes from our daughter’s farm. We will be back for sure. No WiFi is a very good thing and we are grateful for the opportunity to truly unplug. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us.
This cottage was PERFECT!
The owner lived on the property, she is very kind and pleasant!
Well appointed, clean and comfortable stay. River just a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.
If you're looking for peace, quiet and solitude, this is the place for you! Well off the beaten path, and hidden away in the woods with the sounds of the river. It's not far back to "civilization" - we spent our days sightseeing, antiquing and wine tasting, and nothing was really too far of a drive. It's on the smallish side, better suited to a couple than a family, but it was perfect for what we wanted. One note, if you're going with a vacation rental in order to do your own meals, the kitchen wasn't as well equipped as some that we've stayed at. It wasn't bad, had all the basics, but there weren't any lids for the pots and pans, no collection of spices, condiments, oils, or things like foil, baggies or plastic wrap. I brought along my own spices, which is what I'd recommend. Overall, the cottage is very cute and charming, and we greatly enjoyed the week we stayed there.
I chose this location for a family getaway. Loved that it was a bit more remote than being in town and the lack of cell service was actually a plus! A chance to unplug and unwind.
Beautiful in every way. We stayed in the fall, and the changing leaves, wet climate, and amazing river in the backyard were everything we could have hoped for and more. Not far from Portland for day trips, but far enough to feel secluded and at peace.
Very relaxing . No hustle and bustle of the city.
We loved this place!! Very peaceful and the river is just out your back door! Nice and friendly owners with cute dogs that our daughter loved! Definitely recommend this spot for chill weekends!
The peaceful, serene setting was just what I needed for my three-day solo writing retreat. The owner is right next door: friendly yet left me to do my thing. Loved lounging on the back porch to the sound of the river. It had everything I needed. I'll definitely be back!
The place was amazing. Just one thing it was a bit of driving going to places we wanted to see and vist while we were out in Oregon. But that's just a bad part on us for not researching ahead of time. Other then that it's a really nice and peaceful place to stay. And the river is a great please to walk to. And the puppies are supper friendly and always welcome you if they are outside on your return to the cottage. Overall great please to stay.
cute for a few days away from the city, it's not as remote as we had expected; the owners are close. it's a decent walk to the water and fire pit. we had no cell service, which was good since we wanted to get away and 'unplug'.
This location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding at Fernhill Woods Ranch in Molalla. We loved being out in the woods but close to everything and only 10 minutes from the venue. The house is adorable and had everything we needed for the weekend. The owners next door were very polite and friendly yet unobtrusive which we appreciated as we were constantly in a hurry to go to rehearsal dinner/the bridal suite/breakfast and coffee runs/etc. We would definitely stay again if we had the chance.
We had a wonderfull stay at the cottage, beautiful nature and very private. It was clean, everything was there, nice decorated and had a very nice surrounding area! Unfortunately we're going back to the Netherlands, otherwise we defenitly came back.
A wonderful place to rest and restore oneself. The wind in the trees and the birdsong is all one needs. The cottage is beautiful, clean, and everything you need is there. Just bring food and you are good to go. I loved it, this cottage was exactly what I was looking for! The Vacasa team is beyond excellent... I am so fortunate to have "found" them. I will be recommending them to everyone I meet...and I see a lot of people every day. Many thanks Vacasa!
Great location if you are looking to get away, very cozy house with comfortable bed! We loved all the beautiful landscaping around the house, the back deck was perfect for bbqing and relaxing. You can hear the wonderful river from the house but it is a short walk away, beautiful spot and worth the walk!
The cabin is quaint and comfortable and the area is beautiful. The owners are right next door and did introduce themselves; they are very nice. It is a quiet place to rest and we slept very well. There was quite a bit of rain when we were there, so you should have alternate plans than hiking and fishing. We had a great time!
My wife and I spent an extended weekend to do some hiking along the Molalla River and had a wonderful time. The cottage is well kept and nicely nestled close to the Molalla River (you can hear the river from the back porch). Highly recommend this little jewel!
The cottage was very clean, surprisingly spacious, and comfortable. The owners greeted us when we arrived, but let us be during our stay. The dogs on the property were very friendly. We had a little trouble finding it, just get your directions down before you go, and try to get there in the daylight. We were trying to find it at night, and got turned around. Overall, a very nice place to get away from it all!
The cabin is a great place to get away from it all. We were pleasantly surprised to find out the cabin does in fact have wifi and Verizon cell service!
We enjoy our stay at Molalla and would recommend it.
Great little get away! We enjoyed are couple night stay at the cottage. We had a great time reconnecting and just relaxing with no worries ot hustle and bustle of the city.
It was a perfect little cottage for our weekend wedding. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and quite.
Very remote with a rushing river soundtrack. Rocks are slippery but you MUST walk at least a little bit of the river. The water was low during our visit, so we were able to. Comfortable cabin.
Great peppier th. Clean. Quiet. Nice river access
This was a very nice getaway. Had all the conveniences of home away from home. Was especially pleased with the access to the Molalla River.
Service with the on-site owner could be more open mined we are not from here
Please know there is no cell service here (with my provider) and no internet (even though there was a modem and router in the kitchen). Sure, if you are here for a romantic get away - literally - great. Unfortunately, I was here for quiet work time, for which Internet was important. I think it's a good idea to fully disclose the lack of an amenity that many would expect - these days it's almost like not having an indoor toilet to not provide Internet. (And if you wanted to veg out at night, the DVD "collection" had 6 totally random titles.) I was super frustrated but the location was beautiful and very private.
If you want to escape from the hustle of routine, then this is the place. Worth the drive
A quiet, cozy, comfortable, and very nice get-away cottage. Would definitely stay again if ever in that part of the country. Easy access to all things.
Great location to explore Oregon. Nice to be away from the touristy area yet good access when you need it. We slept very well too as it's really quiet at night.
What a perfect cottage! Small enough to be cozy...but big enough to feel open and airy! Lots of great windows to enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The bed was so comfy! We absolutely loved our stay!!! Shhhh don't want everyone to love it so we can have it again and again! Thank you for the perfect weekend!
Very cute out-of-the way cottage about 8 miles outside of Molalla. Easy drive to town and surrounding areas. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.
For a last minute find, we were more then pleased. The cabin was cute, cleaned and fully stocked with more then we needed. The River was amazing! The owners are a bit too close for comfort(I only say that cause it was our anniversary and we were looking for a bit more privacy) but they are very quiet and kind. Chloe was a special treat! I think you will be very pleased...We cant wait to go back!
Thank you for this great feedback. We're so glad that your experience with us was such a positive one and that you would choose to stay with us again. We look forward to it!
This is a beautiful property! It was a little farther from the city than we expected (about an hour away from Portland and Salem)
If you're looking for a peaceful place to get away from it all it doesn't get much better
Sweet Creek Cottage is situated in a beautiful and peaceful setting...just what we were looking for a weekend away!
This is a great get out of touch location. There is no cell phone service unless you drive out about a mile. It worked for me, but be aware. The owners were wonderful and offered great advice of where to go to enjoy the natural beauty of the Molalla River. I would go back to this spot. The bathroom is small, but it meets all major requirements.
A thumbs up on this place.
Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return!
