Lakefront cottage w/ stunning views, enclosed porch, & dock access!

Get away from it all and hole up in this rustic lakefront cottage, complete with an enclosed porch and a second-story deck, providing views of the lake, as well as access to a dock. Perfect for a family or a few close friends, this rental provides you with the basics, plenty of peace and quiet, and lake access.

Set back off the road on a quiet dead-end street on the Isle La Motte, the farthest north and most remote of the Lake Champlain islands, this rental is gives you a break from your busy life, and you'll be mere feet from the water. You'll never be far from conveniences, like grocery shopping, as the entire island is only seven miles long and two miles wide.

The main draw of this rental is its natural surroundings, and you'll get a true camp feel staying here. This cottage, providing just the essentials, welcomes you with an enclosed porch containing a picnic table on one side and a sitting area with a couch and chair on the other. The cottage's interior is a mix of light walls, wood accents, and windows that let in plenty of natural light.

The living area is cozy with rustic wood-plank ceilings and light cane furniture. Relax here any time of day and enjoy the quiet atmosphere, or watch a movie or show on the flatscreen cable TV. While you may want to spend your entire vacation at home enjoying the lake, if you decide to venture out, help yourself to the complimentary WiFi to search for directions to area attractions.

Cook up a nice meal in the basic kitchen as you sip a glass of wine and listen to the available stereo. The kitchen has a standard stove and refrigerator and a wall of simple, open shelving for storage.

Enjoy your meal at the dining room table, which seats six. When you're finished, migrate back to the enclosed porch on the slate rock patio in the back for quiet conversation and a nice end to the day. And if you want to keep meal prep simple, whip something up on the gas grill found out back.

At the end of the day when it's time for some shuteye, climb the pine stairway to the second floor and take your pick from the first bedroom with one queen-size bed or the second bedroom with two queen beds. Fall asleep to croaking frogs and a breeze wafting in through the window off the lake, then wake up in the morning and enjoy your coffee on the upstairs deck, accessible from both bedrooms through French doors. With two bedrooms and one bathroom, this rental can sleep up to six guests.

When you want to get out on the lake, you'll have easy access from the back of the cottage, just a few feet across the rocky beach, as well as from a set of stairs from the second-story deck. Take one of the two paddle boats (shared with another nearby home) out for a spin and experience the lake from a different perspective, as well as access to the dock, which is also shared with the neighboring home (please note that there are no guarantees that the dock will be available to use, as the water level changes seasonally). Take advantage of the assortment of flotation devices and water toys this rental offers. And if you feel like getting out, find your way to Chazy Fossil Reef and see why this wonder of nature has been deemed a phenomenon.

If you're looking for a no-frills break from the daily grind and you just want some peace and quiet in a lakefront setting, this simple Lake Champlain rental will serve you well. Set the wheels in motion, and make your reservations today.

Private on the Lake property. Adjacent house was not occupied so we had a very private setting. Grand kids enjoyed the paddle boat and intro to fishing. Place was clean and comfortable and very nicely equipped. Spectacular location on the Lake. No complaints about anything. We hope to rent it again in the future.

This cottage has beautiful views, and proximity to water only a few feet away. We enjoyed the second story balcony (French doors which open to the breezes.) The canoe, paddle boat and life jackets etc were very appreciated. We used the fire pit on one cool evening, and ate dinner outside when we were at the cottage. We enjoyed touring the lower islands. The main reason we can not give this a 5 star rating is because the cottage windows, doors and floors needs to be insulated from insects flying inside. Since we were staying at the cottage for a week, this was a problem.

Beautiful spot for boating and fishing. Enjoyed the nearby North Hero tiki bar. Our children and grandchildren had a great time in the water, paddle boat and camp.
St. Annes shrine is a great location to visit. There are many trails in the area also.

The screen doors in the bedrooms can be left open all night to enjoy the breeze and sound of the waves. They open onto the deck to enjoy morning coffee. The camp and patio provide a nice surrounding for BBQ. Sat outside enjoying the fire pit and roasting marshmallows.Fun times.

The location was great if you want to get away from it all, kids had a blast swimming and fishing in the lake. There were many repairs needed for the house to be safe for little kids though. The two bedrooms have paneling that does not go to the top of the wall so it feels like you are all sleeping in the same bed noise wise (zero privacy). Also in the main room(kitchen/living/dining) , none of the windows open and there is no fan..... this should be addressed....it got really hot and breeze from the lake would have helped

This newly fixed up cottage has a beautiful view of Lake Champlain. We ate most of our meals at home on the outside patio. The cottage is colorfully decorated and very comfortable for a couple or a couple with kids or friends. We took the canoe and paddle boat out a couple of times which was very pleasant. Long country walks or runs are available and nice too. It was a great place to spend the 4th of July weekend and to get outside of the city. We toured the islands, Burlington, Montreal and the Lake while we were there.

If you are looking for a quiet, out-of-the-way spot, this is it! Can't beat the sound of water lapping against the rocks right outside your window! With correction of a few minor maintenance issues, I would rate this 5 stars for comfort and location. Very peaceful and off the beaten track. Enjoy nature as you sit outside the house, literally feet from Lake Champlain!

I'll start off with the good things first. It's a property right on the edge of Lake Champlain. It's a quiet location on a dead end road with ample parking space across the street from the house.

Now for the bad... the dock which was prominently mentioned in the listing and photos was not fully installed which meant we couldn't keep the boat there. This meant launching and trailering the boat each day at a launch a few miles away (Access Rd, Isle La Motte).

The water was not functioning upstairs when we arrived. I would've expected the cleaning crew to notice the very low water pressure when they were cleaning upstairs. An email to Vacasa and this issue was resolved a few hours later.

Now for the bugs... Usually when you're inside a house, you're relatively safe from bugs. Unfortunately, the window frames around the fireplace and the door frame do not fit snugly. This means when it's dark outside and the lights are on inside, the bugs will let themselves in. The caddies flies aren't biters, but they'll cluster around the lights and sink and occasionally land on you.

All of these issues can be remedied and this location would be decent.
Manager Response:

We came from California and Mexico and stayed for an extended weekend. This was a great mountain cabin. The only think I regret was reserving this through HomeAway and not directly with Vacasa. HomeAway charged us an additional $40 and provided no value. If you are reading this through HomeAway, go directly to Vacasa.com and save yourself $40.

If your looking to get away from it all this is the place. It is so peaceful its actually hard to explain. The bedrooms both have french doors that we would open up at night so that we could fall asleep/wake up to the sound of the water on the rocks. The house was small but clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The location is away from everything so stock up before you go since it isn't easy to just pop over to the store. We (a family of 4) had a blast and left very refreshed!

Kids had a blast at this lake house. Pretty view- right on the lake. Fun toys for the kids to use. Books and games to play. A bit rustic but pretty clean and decorated nicely. Overall a fun place to stay for a few days.
