Recent Isle La Motte vacation rental reviews

With constantly shifting weather patterns we quickly pivoted to New England, specifically Vermont and were fortunate to find this lakeside cabin available. Although we were here for the eclipse I would seriously consider coming back here. It is quiet, sparsely populated and not "touristy" at all. As soon as we arrived the owner came out to greet us and explain they needed a bit more time to get it ready (as this is still the off season and I had booked it only the day before). Throughout our stay she was very solicitous and welcoming, telling us about the history of the island, sorting out some fossils for us to look at (which are apparently quite common along the shoreline) as well as putting together some wood for a bonfire one evening. The home is full of interesting older items and books to peruse. My wife even found a book about the Vermont area she loved so much she read through most of it there and the owner said we were welcome to keep it. All in all I'm glad we stayed here, it was a wonderful experience, unfortunately the clouds did not cooperate and we had to leave a bit early and head east for clearer skies. An eclipse over Lake Champlain would have been an ideal capstone to a wonderful stay.

We had an amazing experience in this upscale retreat on an undiscovered lake. The location is perfect--the island only got power in 1970, yet it has fast, reliable internet, a modern yet rural-styled A-frame house, access to amazing French-Canadian and New York grocery stores within an easy drive, a PRIVATE BEACH in a sheltered lee perfect for swimming with kids or making smores by the bonfire. We shared the residence with some friends, and were able to each have a ton of space to sleep, read, rest, and bathe, yet hang out together in the huge common space and enjoy the sunsets. The common space has cozy couches, a gorgeous modern kitchen, floor to sealing glass that somehow has no drafts. This is the place to rent. You won't regret it!

First off, this house is well priced for what you get. It’s beautiful and positioned almost on a lake! I came here with a few mom friends and our kids - of all ages- and it was an awesome retreat. The home feels like a true getaway and there is plenty of space for everyone. The wine drinking moms have a huge table. The teens could hide in the converted porch and the toddlers ran all around the downstairs while we could see them. The lake being across the street is stunning. We watched the sunset every night. I cannot wait until it’s warm enough to swim in. The kitchen is well stocked. Rare for a rental these days. There is room for remote workers, too. The two things to know are; bring plenty of groceries. Closest store is 30-40 mins away. There are tons of decent alcohol and snack options at the locals stops. And. We saw the most amazing stars. I do think there are creatures out there, like deer and a ton of birds. Recommend and we will be back this summer!
