Charming house w/ ocean views & entertainment - tranquil location near the beach

Let your worries fall away at this lovely house in Cannon Beach, where you'll find serenity in the quiet moments that will come so naturally here. In addition to a homey setting and plenty of room to spread out, this three-story house has peek-a-boo ocean views and entertainment for up to six guests to have a memorable vacation.

Located in a quiet neighborhood just across the street from Tolovana Beach State Park, the beach is just a short walk away, as are a number of classic dining options. Drive or take a relaxing two-mile walk up the beach to more shopping and dining opportunities in downtown.

The house has a unique design with cozy nooks and soothing pastel-colored walls that ensure instant relaxation. Arched windows and other interesting architectural features give this home plenty of character. On the main floor (located on the second level of the house), you'll find places to gather on leather furniture for conversations by the wood stove, another couch to lay back and watch a Blu-ray/DVD on the flatscreen cable TV, and a small balcony with patio seating for your morning coffee.

For entertainment on a rainy day, you might read a book off the shelf, play a game on the Xbox 360, or browse on WiFi. On starry nights, bust out the telescope from the upstairs closet to get a closer view of the galaxies.

A full kitchen provides all the essentials you need to cook with, as well as a blender, coffeemaker, and dishwasher for convenience. Three may sit at the breakfast bar for a quick meal while everyone will fit around the dining table for a pleasant meal together, followed by dessert and a friendly game of cards.

Three bedrooms offer spaces for up to six travelers to sleep comfortably. One room features a king bed with a sitting area and full private bath, and the other two rooms each offer a queen bed and access to a shared full bath. A balcony on the top floor has the best view of the whole house, overlooking the neighborhood and verdant trees, the sea just visible in the distance.

There is one half bath and a desk nook on the main floor, plus a private washer/dryer to help you take care of any laundry you may have.

This house is perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a quiet retreat - outside of the downtown area, you'll likely have little traffic on the beach, leaving room for your group to run around flying kites and building sand castles to your heart's content. Take a walk up to iconic Haystack Rock and marvel at the tide pools during low tide, then grab some ice cream and salt water taffy at Bruce's Candy Kitchen.

Fun day trips in the area include whale watching and hiking at Ecola State Park, or venturing down to Oswald West State Park for even more options. A journey 24 miles north will bring you to the historic batteries at Fort Stevens State Park. Of course, you can always just stick around, buy some fresh seafood, and cook up a delicious dinner in your rental kitchen.

We spent a long week-end here and it was great. Our favorite feature was the wood-burning stove - it's been awhile since we've had a real wood fire (vs. gas logs). It's extremely well-equipped - can't think of anything we looked for and couldn't find. The flashlights were very handy for navigating in the dark if you get up in the middle of the night, as it's pretty dark up there once the sun sets. Better view of the ocean than I expected, based on reading some other reviews. We were only a party of two but it would comfortably accommodate 2-3 families, making it very affordable for a larger group.

The house is roomy and well stocked. I like the location a lot. You are close to town but not too close. After a hard day of vacationing, it’s nice to come home and chill in the trees.

This house is very comfortable and the view and location are great. You can safely walk to the beach in 10 minutes and to a store and restaurant in less than that. It is quiet and you can hear and see the ocean. The house is well equipped and the few things it lacks, you can live without. We were very comfortable and pleased with the rental.

House was lovely, neighborhood was quiet. The road dead ends at the house so no through traffic, but parking was difficult in a truck as the space is a tight turnaround. Overall, a great stay.

This is a bright pink house tucked behind Hwy 101. The beach is just barely visible from the house. There is a flight of stairs to climb when you first enter and they request that guests remove their shoes in the house. The main floor has stone flooring which is quite cold even with thick socks. Bring a pair of slippers for the house if visiting in winter. The upper floor is carpeted.
One of the bedrooms on the upper floor does not appear to have a heating vent. It seemed colder than the other rooms, though we didn't use it.
The house has quick access to Hwy 101 though we weren't bothered by highway noise during our stay.
There is one table for dining. It is made of distressed wood and has some holes in it.
The kitchen is well equipped. The stove is gas.
We were happy with our stay.

Serenity in the Trees lived up to its name: Beautiful ocean views from both stories; wonderfully well-stocked kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms; comfortable and cozy beds...lots of space to be together or have some alone time.

Though not our first trip to Cannon Beach, it was our first time staying on this end of town... we're so glad we did! The walk along the beach toward Haystack Rock and Sleepy Monk Coffee is beautiful. You can never go wrong with the walk along Hemlock, either.

We loved the cool decor, the themed rooms. The kitchen was well equipped complete with coffee grinder. There were games, hats, beach towels.
We loved watching the sunset from any of the 3 balconies. You can walk to the supermarket and to Tolovana Beach. There are 2 queen size beds. One has a niche for a small child , and there is a smaller room with a full size bed. Would be a great share for two couples and a couple kids. We were delighted with the whole thing.

Highly recommend, it is across the highway and not just across the street as we thought, however the location is as the title states. Would stay here again, especially for the value.

Great house cozy and spacious accommodating in every way beautiful top story ocean view. Colorful, and bright even in the rain. All it was missing for me, was a hot tub to relax in!
