Cozy, dog-friendly cabin with incredible meadow and mountain views
Bursting with mountain charm, this Idyllwild vacation rental for six (and one dog!) will quickly become a group favorite.
This quiet forest town is a great spot to vacation if you're looking for a serene, relaxing time intermingled with souvenir shopping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The main hub of Idyllwild is just a few miles away, but this home does have a nice, secluded feeling you may never want to leave, especially since the back deck overlooks beautiful Foster Lake Meadow and boasts incredible views of Lily Rock.
Beamed ceilings, wood floors and walls, and large windows truly bring nature to you, so even if your days are spent luxuriously cooped up with a good book, you'll still feel immersed in the mountains. Each room is thoughtfully put together with nice furnishings, and there is even a cozy wood fireplace and washer and dryer available so everyone feels right at home.
Step through the front door to an open main living area filled with comfort. Furnished with a sofa, armchairs, brick-framed fireplace, and a flatscreen TV, the living room is a perfect spot to end a wonderful day with fellow travelers. Use the cable to catch your favorite shows, or pop a movie into the Blu-ray player for a quiet movie night.
Across the room is a stunning wood dining table with plenty of room for all six guests to take a seat along the benches and partake in a delicious home-cooked meal, game night, or craft time. On warmer days, take your plate out to the large deck to dine al fresco and even catch sight of a falling star or the Big Dipper after sunset.
Back inside is a fantastic, full kitchen featuring tile countertops, knotted pine cabinets, a warm mosaic tile backsplash, and everything the chef needs to whip up tasty meals. Along with major appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, toaster, mixer, and slow cooker are also included.
To offer space for all six travelers, each of the two bedrooms house enticing king-size beds, and a sofabed is available in the living room. The spectacular master bedroom even has an en suite bathroom with a stand-alone shower for extra privacy. A full bathroom is accessed via the hallway for other guests to use.
Enjoy Lily Rock from a new perspective and try your hand at mountain climbing. Take a stroll through what used to be Foster Lake and is now Foster Lake Meadow, just out your back door. If you brought your dog along, leash him up and let him frolic through the flowers and grass as you explore the flora and fauna. (Please note that if you do bring your dog, there is a nightly pet fee and a weight limit of 25 pounds.)
Another popular hiking trail, Deer Springs, is close by, and the educational and fun Idyllwild Nature Center is just down Highway 243. After a day in the great outdoors, clean up and take the group out for a tasty meal at Gastrognome, followed by browsing galleries and local boutiques.
Hurry and book this Lily Rock overlook home now and rest assured that a peaceful and perfect vacation is just around the corner.
We loved the spacious 2 br cabin lined with tongue on groove wood planks throughout. Beautiful view of mountains and Lily Rock. Right on a meadow with no homes behind. Deer, squirrels, coyotes at various times in the meadow. Owl, hawks, ravens, blue jays, flying around. Spotless cabin with all amenities and comfortable beds. Can’t wait to come back!
Our second year here.....we truly enjoy the view and the quiet. All the necessary amenities are available, it’s close to town and a long distance from the rest of world!
It's a lovely place and we enjoyed our stay.
The living room and deck have an awesome view and it was very nice stay.
Lovely town and great cabin. Clean and comfortable with a fantastic view.
Had a wonderful stay. Perfect for the quilter. Lots of room.
We loved the backyard views and the quietness of the surroundings.
Clean, stocked with amenities, modern but with a rustic feel - and a great fireplace. All at a reasonable price. I'd go back for sure!
It’s not haunted, which some may find important, lol. It does have a coffee machine! I thought it didn’t cause the listing didn’t mention it and I couldn’t find it in the photos. The layout is great. It’s quiet but not overly secluded. Out the back was a big field. We found bunny tracks and saw cayoties in the distance. Close to idylwild, which was the whole point. It snowed!
When we showed up they had jazz playing on the tv. It made us hesitate going in cause we thought somebody might be inside. But then, when it was empty, we found it a very nice touch!
Great fireplace and comfy chairs. Well appointed kitchen. View of mountains. Close to town.
The cabin was well furnished in all aspects and had a spectacular view out the back to a meadow and the beautiful mountains.
We had a weekend staying at this lovely property. This cabin is very clean and cozy. The surrounding area is also very tranquil and truly beautiful. We would highly recommend this property, and we definitely will be back in the future.
Very nice 👍 and clean we had the best Christmas 🎄 thanks guys for you’re hard work. Will be back soon
It's a beautiful and well maintained house in a beautiful setting.
Stayed 2 night, felt very cozy. Home away from home. Easy to get to, close to the town. Thanks!
The home was just as advertised. It has two master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Those rooms are located across the hall from one another so they offer privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, cutlery, dishes, glasses, etc. Vacasa left the lights on (which we appreciated as we arrived after dusk) and provided ample supplies such as paper towels, TP, dishwashing soap, sponge, washing machine soap, dishwasher soap. The home was quiet with a beautiful view from the large deck. Perfect place to stay after a long day hiking.
Lily Rock is very clean and spacious with all the kitchen amenities one could possibly need. The huge deck is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the mountain vista. Although the town is not far, I wouldn't recommend walking, as the main road is a bit treacherous. All in all, this really is a nice, quiet property.
This home was clean, well equipped and near restaurant, store, etc. it was peaceful and the outdoor space was large and beautiful. My friend left her charger in the home and we asked if we could pay to have it mailed. We were told by VACASA that they would be happy to mail the charger for $25 plus shipping. I could have bought four more chargers for $25. I thought that was an unprofessional and unwarranted response.
We apologize if our lost and found policy was upsetting for this guest. This policy is outlined in the check-in email guests receive prior to arriving at the home. We are glad to see the guest enjoyed the home itself. Thank you!
My family stayed here last minute getaway, and the cabin was immaculately clean, very well taken care of, very cozy with a beautiful view of the meadow and mountain! We loved the big window in the living room that allows you to sit and gaze out at nature and its beauty! The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and private, so if you have more than one family on the trip. The outdoor deck was awesome to enjoy as well! The kitchen has updated appliances and spacious, but it would have been nice to have cooking spatulas, regular size coffee cups ( they were smaller tea cups) and more knives for cooking. Another than that, we had an amazing trip and this will be our go-to cabin in the future!
The house was immaculate, everything was fresh and clean, beds were incredibly comfortable. Size of house was perfect for our little gathering. Would definitely stay again.
This was a very comfortable cabin. We all enjoyed our stay - light snow, beautiful view of the meadow and wildlife, a nice warm fireplace. I would definitely choose this cabin to stay at again!
We loved staying here! Highlights were easy access, single story, spacious and inviting, lovely view with huge windows!
Fabulous location, quiet and peaceful. Rustic cabin with appropriate decoration, log cabin style furnishings, native American decoration. We took a four and eight year old, they loved it!
The overall house was nice and clean. The views are nice and the cabin is well appointed. We had a few issues though. The main bedroom was missing the smoke detector. The wires were hanging down with no detector. This was a bit annoying since there is high fire danger. Also the cabin comes with a pull out couch, but the only sheet we had was the fitted sheet, no flat sheet. Yuk!! Another issue we had were sticky mouse traps were around the inside of the house, those are the worst kind of traps because they don’t actually kill the mouse. What are we supposed to do if we do get a rodent!!!!! Not to mention they shouldn’t be there with kids and pets to accidentally get into. Lastly the shower in the 2nd bathroom only had scolding hot water. When you tried to turn on the cold water nothing would happen.
We are sorry to see there were a few issues and disappointments with this stay, and we appreciate being informed of them. The smoke detector has been replaced, the glue traps have been removed, and we have left extra sheets for the pullout. Thank you!
Beautiful cabin with an amazing view with ev turning you need close to town and trails. What more could you ask for.
Great cabin, we were two adults and a small dog but I can see a bigger family enjoying the space and taking advantage of the two bedrooms. The front room with it's beautiful dining room table and the deck were great places for larger groups. We loved the space and would enjoy a return soon!
Easy drive to the mountains from L.A. although the last 20 miles are a bit tricky if you are coming in at night. Check-in and out are a breeze. Neighborhood is residential but enough land to feel private and remote. Close enough to town that making that extra trip is not a chore. View off back deck of Lilyrock and the mountains is beautiful and unobstructed. Fireplace is a nice bonus!
A great location for couples or people who want to get some uninterrupted time away from distractions. Quiet neighborhood.
Great weekend of smelling mountain air, enjoying the breezes in the pines and listening to some awesome Jazz at the great festival. We will return again soon.
This is a wonderfully comfortable home! The deck provides a beautiful spot to sip tea and watch the birds, the kitchen is a wonderful place to cook with the family the living room is a cozy spot to sit and recline and the bedrooms are serene. The house is very well maintained and we felt very comfortable and happy with our choice. We will come again!
Love, love, love this home. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and the back deck over looks a huge open space area surrounded by huge trees with a view of majestic Lily Rock. The house is nicely decorated and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans and other kitchen gadgets to meet my culinary needs. I often say to my friends who stay with me at Lily rock how much I'd love to make an offer on this house and own it myself!
Beautiful view of Taquitz with a large open meadow that you can enjoy from the large back deck. Comfortable house, 5 minutes from town. Would happily go back. Highly recommended.
Our family didn't want to leave! We have 4 children from age 2 to 12 and every one of them had a great time! The legos and games kept them busy every morning while we sipped our coffee. The picturesque windows left them occupied bird watching behind the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances allowing preparation of anything possible. The beds were super comfy and the climate control never gave us any issues. Our family really enjoyed going into town to play in the playground and visit the stores. It was the perfect vacation to unwind and unplug. This will definitely be our go-to cabin!! A home away from home that may even make you want to live up there!
The cabin was clean, light, bright and airy. The picture window overlooking Lily Rock was enjoyed at every meal. The view could not have been better! The cabin is located in a quiet area away from traffic, but close to trails, town and is down the street from the Nature Center. It's peaceful... just what we were looking for. A great location! At the rear of the cabin is a big deck and it is backed up to a meadow. We enjoyed the sunrises overlooking Lily Rock from the comfortable deck furniture. And did I mention the view?! We couldn't have asked for more.
We really enjoyed our stay in this house, it was very nice and i loved the town. The only issue was there was no bbq (which it stated a bbq came with the house and vacasa never called back when i called to inquire) and the blue ray player didn't work. But other than those 2 things it was lovely.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the BBQ and that no one reached out to this guest regarding the matter. The home provided a charcoal BBQ, but this is illegal to use in the area and had to be removed from the home. A BBQ is no longer advertised as being available at this home.
This house far exceeded my expectations! The pictures are nothing compared to how amazing this place actually is! All we had to do was bring our own food. The beds were so unbelievably comfortable, the fireplace was perfect for making smores, the deck was amazing for enjoying breakfast. We all loved our stay and we will be coming back!
Great house, fun area to stay in, very charming.
This great property felt like home away from home. Very cute and comfortable. We loved everything in this house, especially the king-size beds and the views from the big picture-windows. Very quiet place, nice neighbors.
We can't wait to come back.
We really liked this home, it was nicely furnished and a beautiful, convenient location. Very spacious and clean.
However, there were some big safety concerns as there was only one working smoke alarm (in one of the bedrooms). The other two were missing. The doors only have a single lock, unless you use the key to lock the deadbolts from inside the house (completely unsafe).
The dishwasher does not work and has a strong odor.
We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed this beautiful home! With the information you have provided, our local operation’s manager was able to address your concerns. All smoke detectors have been replaced. The dishwasher is an antique that requires special parts that are on backorder. It has been removed from the amenities, and an out of order sign has been placed on the appliance until it can be repaired. We look forward to having you again soon!
The home layout is perfect with the open kitchen eating area and bedrooms opposite sides of the house. Loved the cabin décor. Great property. Will definitely come back.
We had a great time at this cabin! It has everything you need and more! We can't wait to come back and visit Idyllwild again! Thank you!
Cabin very comfortable, very clean, well equipped, you will only have to bring food and clothes. Manager is very nice and helpful. The views are beautiful, it snowed Christmas Eve, it was so beautiful because of all the open space, If you want a home away from home you will Love this place, Very pleased we will stay again.
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view from the big, picture windows in this cabin! I woke before sunrise each morning to watch the sun come up over the mountains, listen to the birds sing, and even saw a family of coyotes one morning. Only major complaint was that the dishwasher wasn't working and towels were wet (fortunately they had a dryer so we could remedy that pretty easily.) The Bryans
This was a very cute and comfortable cabin. The view of the surrounding mountains was beautiful. The neighbors were friendly and quiet. The newly added master suite was very cozy with its power adjustable bed and lighted sitting area. I would recommend this place if you want to unplug and get away to the mountains for some relaxation.
Stayed at this lovely cabin in a neighborhood abutting meadow. Very quiet, safe and peaceful. House was immaculate. Brought our dog - nice area close to town to enjoy.
We had such an amazing and relaxing weekend! The views are beautiful. The cabin is spacious. We got boxes of wood from the local store (only 1.5 miles away from the cabin) for the fireplace. We can't wait to go back!
The location of this cabin was wonderful - on a dead end street, very quiet and private with a stunning view of field and mountains off the back deck. Town is only a 5 minute drive and hiking spots and Nature Center are around the corner. The home was very homey and had everything we needed for the weekend and was beautifully decorated. There were 4 adults and a newborn in our party and we had plenty of space. We would definitely stay here again!
