Bright and airy, spacious dog-friendly home on five acres!
From downtown Coeur d'Alene, it's less than 10 minutes to cougar country - Cougar Gulch, that is, where you'll share five acres of country real estate with four-legged creatures no more fearsome than deer or elk (maybe an occasional moose) when you stay at this magnificent 2500 sq. ft. vacation rental home with three bedrooms and room for six. And with all that space, there's plenty of room for your toys too: the ATVs and mountain bikes. Oh, and don't forget the boat! You'll be just 10 minutes from the launches at breathtaking Kidd Island Bay.
Park the ATV, secure the snowmobile, stash the fishing gear - whatever you've been doing that day - and relax in the large living area of this lovely home with plenty of comfortable furniture. If there is a musician in your group, you're in luck with the grand piano to play on. On those chilly or snowy nights, gather in front of the warm glow of the gas fireplace and talk, read, listen to some music or watch some television or a DVD.
The family dog can join you for an additional nightly fee. The dogs can play and roam in a fenced dog run.
All three bedrooms are on the same floor. Along with the roomy full bed in the master bedroom, at day's end you'll be able to slide into the warmth of the large tub and soak your cares away. The other two bedrooms each have comfortable full sized beds and share the main bath with its full tub, shower and two sinks. This home will sleep up to eight guests (six adults).
There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room for extra accommodations. And you won't be accumulating a mound of laundry and muddy hiking gear for the trip home: there's a washer and dryer as well.
Meals shouldn't be a problem with this stylish vacation rental home's fully equipped modern kitchen, complete with a gas range for that perfect cooking flame, a microwave for movie night popcorn, a dishwasher for quick clean up, and a coffee grinder so you can enjoy the freshest cup! Or, make the 10-minute trip into downtown Couer d'Alene where you'll have your choice of 120 restaurants.
Nestled on one of the intermittent, manicured patches of land carved from the sea of trees in the region, you'll be a little over a mile from Coeur d'Alene Lake, a narrow body of water that's long on beauty, abundance, and recreational activities. Notwithstanding all the stuff you can do out on the water, Coeur d'Alene is also within 100 miles of 32 golf courses, five major ski areas, and three national forests.
Obviously, you'll be able to get good use of the boat when you stay at this beautiful home, as there is a nice boat ramp close to Kidd Island. There's plenty of parking for your season-specific recreational vehicles. In summer, bring the clubs! There are eight places to tee up in the area. There are lots of places to hike, bike, kayak, and shoot the rapids on a raft. Anglers can throw their lines in Coeur d'Alene Lake, or tease the waters with their lures in the Spokane River. Savor the bucolic landscape from a peaceful perch in a gondola ride. In town, take your pick of 125 shops where you can find that perfect art piece or souvenir to remember your visit. Skiers: there are 5 ski areas from within 48 to 90 miles from the city, including Silver Mountain Resort to the east, Kellogg and Schweitzer Mountain to the north in Sandpoint.
So, come see why visitors keep coming back again and again to the beautiful, pristine Coeur d'Alene Lake area where there's lots to do no matter what the season! And when you're there, make this lovely vacation rental gem your home away from home.

We were looking for an open floor plan home for our family trip to cook meals and enjoy time visiting our son. This home gave us lots of space and a huge kitchen! Although the kitchen is large, it is ill equipped for cooking family meals. Some serving bowls, measuring cups and spoons, new grater, etc are necessary. There are lots of wine, juice glasses and coffee cups, but no tall beverage glasses for water or beer - we bought Solo cups.
We wanted to watch a football game together and the old box tv was a big downgrade. The master bedroom
sheets were a bit pilled. The screen on the sliding door to the back yard had a couple of big holes in it.
Lovely, solid house. They just need to give attention to some details in order to make it a great rental experience.
Hi, Juliana! The property manager is taking care of the kitchen items, sheets, and screen door. We are discussing the other items with the owner. Thank you!

House was nice and the setting was perfect. Some things could have used a little tlc but over all it was a great place to stay.
CARTY S.Aug 2019
Just outside the city, quiet area, and easy to find. Thank you!
Tommy J B.Jul 2019
Very nice place, quiet but not that far to downtown
Walter P.Jun 2019
Stayed here with my parents and 3 little kids, room for everyone. Great library to peruse after the kids were in bed. Amazingly lovely piano and scores abounding, if you play. 4 miles from the gorgeous city beach and park where we spent all our time. We had intended to take hikes, but the beach was just too marvelous and convenient.
Brandon B.Jun 2019
We came into town for "Car D'alene" and this home worked perfect for us, plenty of room for parking (we had two trucks, two trailers and two classic cars), it was quiet and the perfect distance from everything! We definitely will try to stay here next year. The only minor flaw is that the tv's are out dated but we weren't there to watch tv anyway.
James W.Jun 2019
Love the area, house is spacious. Lighting isn’t very good in the house, but I would book again just for the area, it’s beautiful
Jane H.May 2019
House was in beautiful country setting, near horse farms. Easy access to downtown CDA and I-90. Very quiet out there!
Douglas F.Oct 2018
Very nice home in lovely setting
Sandra C.Sep 2018
For the most part the home in the country was nice. We went to Coeur d'Alene to do some biking and would have liked to be closer to the biking trails. The home could use a little TLC along with major yard work.
Lyle C.Sep 2018
This house is in a beautiful country setting but yet only a few miles from Coeur d’Alene!
Cory R.Aug 2018
We enjoyed our stay very nuch.
ANN S.Aug 2018
Location is good. Home was clean and had lots of room. However, the furniture was dated and the yard and surrounding area looks nothing like the photos. Grass was dead and the yard around the home was over grown.
We appreciate receiving this feedback and having the opportunity to respond to it. A lot of the furniture in the home is antique and will be staying in place. The sprinkler system is getting repaired so we can better care for the lawn. Thank you!
Kevin J.Jun 2018
We liked the country setting. Overall it was superb highly recommended .
Jesse E.Jun 2018
My family and I had a great time in this home. The kitchen and living room were great. Really spacious! It's back in the hills but still so close to downtown Coeur d'Alene. We would definitely do it again!
Adam G.Jun 2018
Nice house in a quiet country area.
Cathryn K.May 2018
We especially loved the size of the great room and kitchen. It was also enjoyable to check out the wide variety of old books. However, the grand piano top's hinges are not secured, so don't open it. Also, the dog "run" is more a fenced square of long grass, so there isn't really any place for the dogs to run outside off-leash. However, there are a few good off-leash parks not terribly far away.
Sheldon B.Oct 2017
The entire experience from booking to check out was flawless. This home is 1 of a kind. We would suggest this to anybody that is looking for a relaxing place that is close to nature. 5 STAR all the way.
Linda S.Oct 2017
Quiet, peaceful surroundings and a perfect large open space to spread out our quilting supplies and still be altogether. Everything was as advertised and very comfortable for our group.
Kami H.Sep 2017
Great house, little far from lake can't walk anywhere though. Had elk in the yard a couple nights which was neat.
Debbie B.Aug 2017
There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. I was impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with all of the kitchenware, etc. We had 3 dogs with us and they loved the front and side yards. We also took advantage of the barbeque on the front porch. We didn't use the dog run as there was no shade from the direct sun. We even saw a few Elk in the evening before we left. The neighbor behind was very friendly. Without hesitation, we would definitely book this beautiful home again!!!!
Tina P.Aug 2017
Was so great to have the whole family together for meals and in the same house..would never had this at a hotel...we'll always remember this trip!
William D.Aug 2017
Spent a couple of days with family enjoying this home. The large open kitchen, dining room, & living room make this ideal for spending time with a group of family or friends
Mark B.Aug 2017
A great place nestled in a quiet part of area, we found the home and surroundings to be perfect for our needs. Loved taking early morning walks down the country roads and hearing the sounds all around. Quick trips to town while enjoying being away- all added up to a great stay. We will come again!
Megan B. .Jul 2017
The house was very spacious and comfortable. We had a great stay. It's about 10 minutes from downtown and it was nice to be in a quiet location away from downtown to relax at the end of the day.
Martha H.Jun 2017
This is a nicely appointed three bedroom house with a beautiful open concept kitchen, dining, and living area. The gas fireplace is an added bonus. The master bathroom is huge and the entire house is full of ambient light. There's even a grand piano in the living room. It's only about ten minutes from I90. It's not easy to find but it's a lovely home. Bring basic condiments and be prepared to do scavenger hunt for basic utensils. The kitchen organization is not very user friendly. I burned my eggs looking for a spatula. Very relaxing, very clean home. Loved the first floor laundry room with rinsing sink.
Raul F.May 2017
It is a spacious, clean house with a lot of character!!. Large kitchen with everything you can need. Nice yard and fenced in dog area!. Perfect place to relax and have a good time!.
Chari A.Apr 2017
siblings and spouses get together. The place worked well. Kitchen great. We enjoyed the fire place, especially in the mornings.
Jennifer A.Nov 2016
A spacious home in a lovely country setting, just minutes away from downtown Coeur d'Alene.
Suzi S.Oct 2016
Vacasa was very helpful. This was our first time with them and will do it again.
Karen D. E.Sep 2016
The home was magnificent. It was so big and beautiful. I am glad I stayed there, minus a couple of issues. The neighbor's dog was a big issue for our dogs.
The home was very clean.
Yvonne D.Sep 2016
Lovely home, views were spectacular. Enjoyed our stay for the week. Five Star rental.
Cheri W.Aug 2016
We loved so many things about this home! It felt like you were in your own private oasis yet the drive to the lake was a mere five minutes! The home was comfortable with everything you could need to prepare meals any needed laundry sit out and watch the stars and eat breakfast out inthe deck with one of the most beautiful veiws you can imagine! This was the perfect place to stay and we would absolutely love to. Stay here again!
Michael B.Aug 2016
Very nice home located less than 15 minutes from downtown. Far enough away it feels like you're not close to town, buy close enough in case you need to run into town for supplies (food for example). The location was great and it was very nice and quiet
Less expensive than renting a hotel room with a lot more room.
TV and Internet to keep you entertained if you have down time. Large kitchen and laundry room. Bedrooms are of good size.
Would stay here again
Karen G.Aug 2016
Would definitely stay at this property again
Margaret V.Aug 2016
Lovely home, beautiful views and roomy house! Felt like I was in the country, but with the convenience of everything you need only minutes away. Definitely plan on returning here in the future!
Anna S.Jul 2016
Everyone had their own room. Perfect place for kids to explore. The July 4th fireworks were a short 10 min drive away to view from across the lake. A lot of luxury for a very reasonable price. It made our family reunion possible. Thank you! We will be back when we have our next reunion.
Dave D.Jul 2016
We were very happy with our stay here it is a beautiful home very peaceful and would recommend to anybody
Joel T.Jun 2016
This house is in a nice location (locally and regionally). There were some maintenance issues, especially in regards to grounds keeping (very poor). Overall a good stay/good place; but I would not stay again with the kids until I could verify that the front "yard" has been moved (probably has not been done in 2016).
Toby F.May 2016
The openness of the living area was exactly what we were looking for. This is not upscale by any means but was a great space for a family get together.
This home is all about the inside. The yard is unkept and it was difficult to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings.
We will work on the landscaping now that we have some warmer weather.
Brandon B.Apr 2016
It's just as neat as it looks in the pictures! A very comfortable and peaceful place to take the family for a little retreat. This turned out to be a great place for the kids, plenty of space indoors and outdoors. Only one word of caution for those with tipsy toddlers: the kitchen and living room are tiled throughout. The setting is especially peaceful, nestled in to a meadow surrounded by mountain views.
Jeff & Danelle M.Jan 2016
This property was excellent! Plenty of room for our boys and cousins to play. Others complained about the beds being to small but they worked out for our situation. If you go in the winter, like we did, we recommend bringing a snow shovel in case you get stuck in the driveway. The property was very clean and was just what we needed. We are already planning on using this property again for next year! Thanks VaCasa!
Kathleen T.Nov 2015
Not what we hoped .
We regret to see that you were disappointed by your stay. We will look into your reservation to see what we can do to improve. We hope you felt welcome and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings!
Lori B.Nov 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed this home. The location is excellent, 10 mins from highway and 10 minutes from downtown Coeur d'Alene but out of the congested areas. Very peaceful and quiet at night with deer in close proximity, surrounded by meadow and fir trees. Very relaxing! The book collection was perfect for a rainy day and the baby grand piano allowed our boys to serenade our evenings (although they preferred the football games). We would love to live there!!!
Kerri W.Oct 2015
The home is very beautiful and the scenery is lovely. All of the necessities were available for our stay. It is a very easy drive into town and there was plenty of room for our kids and our dog to run around outside. The only draw back to this place is the beds. The fire place was absolutely one of my favorite things as it was chilly and rainy during our stay.
Thank you for sharing your review and your feedback. We are so happy to hear that you had a great time in this wonderful home and cant wait to have you back!
Jean M.Sep 2015
Our family stayed in this lovely home for our week long vacation. Location is perfect to explore Cd'A and surrounding communities. Very quiet area and lots of wildlife! We'd love to come again sometime!
Joseph B.Jul 2015
Loved our stay at this home. We had 8 people and since we used it during the week we actually saved money by not staying in a motel and eating out.
Breathtaking scenery surrounds this home. You will want to spend a while on the front porch just soaking in the silence!
The beds are small (full size) and there are three of them. The house is modernized with a classic feel. A well stocked library will keep you occupied with a variety of subjects. The owners of this property must be fascinating people.
Our kids felt right at home with the grand piano which provided a soothing ambiance. The home is quite kid friendly and had plenty of places for the kids to ride their bikes. We didn't bother with the TV's, we were too busy having fun at Silverwood theme park, and by the time we got home, everyone was exhausted!
The kitchen is well equipped with all the hardware you will need to make great meals. The large dining room table fit all 8 of us easily. This is a wonderful home for a family or group who is looking for peace and quiet.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We are delighted that you loved your stay at this wonderful vacation home and appreciated all of the special touches it has to offer. The owners certainly have taken great care to ensure that this home is warm and welcoming for guests. The location is great for relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery as well. We do hope that we'll see you again next time you visit Coeur d'Alene. Thanks for staying with us!
Jeff H.Jul 2015
Home was great for all 5 of us. Kitchen, living room, grand piano!!! Awesome! I made a comment about the master bedroom bed. It was squeaky and only a double... Will go to this home again if we can!!!
Robert H.Jun 2015
we were exceptionally pleased with the location of this home. And the rich history inside the home from the past owner. this would be a music lover's paradise. Accessibility to Coeur d'Alene Resort and the lake and all the activities were close. it was nice to only have a five minute drive to Coeur d'Alene. The house is super clean yes the beds were a bit uncomfortable. we had an enjoyable stay the kitchen is huge and so is the living area. Thanks again.
Linda M.Sep 2013
The service was great and the online convenience. The water was our only issue at the property due to smell and taste needing looked into.
Missy P.Aug 2013
We had a great time while at this home. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in. The family room was open to the kitchen to visiting was easy. The master bath was plenty big for two people to get ready at the same time. The finished basement is a great place to send the kids for a little separation. The housekeeper did a great job and the home was spotless. I wish that we could have parked the car in the garage but it was being used to store a couple cars. Overall, a really nice home.
