Inviting custom cabin on Mt. Hood w/ a fireplace, a grill, & a hot tub!

Experience Mt. Hood's evergreen playground like never before at this custom cabin in Government Camp. Sleeping up to eight, there's room for the whole family, with amenities everyone can appreciate, including a sprawling deck, a private hot tub, and a beautiful woodland location close to Mt. Hood's ski resorts, scenic rivers for fly fishing and kayaking, and countless hiking trails!

Surrounded by towering Douglas Fir trees, the location affords plenty of peace and quiet with a great amount of privacy. You'll be just steps from amazing, year-round outdoor recreation, but if you're feeling like exploring in town, downtown Government Camp's restaurants and shopping boutiques are within walking distance. Feel like grabbing a delicious meal and microbrew? The Mt. Hood Brewing Company is only 40 yards away!

Inside this three-story home, modern updates appoint the classic cabin interior, creating a comfortable refuge at the end of an active day and a warm oasis during a snowstorm. A spacious living room with pine walls provides the perfect gathering spot for everyone. There’s comfy furnishings, a rustic stone gas fireplace, and beautiful lofted windows that let in an abundance of natural light. Watch a movie on the flatscreen cable TV, or simply cozy up to the fire and watch the snow fall outside.

The living room opens to the dining and kitchen area, which has a table that can fit up to eight, with extra space provided on four kitchen stools. The country kitchen's open floor plan allows for effortless entertaining and cooking, plus it features all the necessary appliances and even a dishwasher for quick cleanup.

Two sets of sliding glass doors lead to the expansive back deck, which overlooks the forest for a classic woodsy setting in the mountains. You’ll have a charcoal grill for cooking up your favorite BBQ meals, and the sliding doors make it easy to create an indoor/outdoor feel so everyone is included. You’ll also have a private hot tub outside where you can enjoy an end-of-the-day soak and take in the fresh mountain scenery.

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home will accommodate up to eight guests total. Upstairs, there’s a nice reading loft where you can escape the hustle and bustle with a good book.

Back on the main level, you’ll have two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second room has a queen-size bed and twin-size bunk beds - ideal for the kids or any single travelers!

Downstairs on the lower level, there’s even more space for everyone to hang out and relax. A cozy family room features a wood stove and comfy furnishings. There’s also the third bedroom and second full bathroom on this level, suitable as an alternative master suite, with a queen-size bed and twin-size bunk beds.

Next to the downstairs family room, there's a small bonus area with a foosball table for a fun family game night. This home also has a private washer/dryer on the lower level, as well as complimentary WiFi for your convenience.

When you’re ready to explore the area, there’s plenty to do on the mountain and in nearby Government Camp. You’ll be about a half mile from downtown, where there’s an array of restaurants, shops, and amenities (and ski rental places!).

For skiing, snowboarding, innertubing, and more, Ski Bowl is about a half mile from the home. It’s also the best place for night skiing, which is always a fun activity; you can gaze out at the stars above when riding the chair lift, then enjoy a less crowded run down the mountain.

Timberline Ski Resort above historic Timberline Lodge is only six miles away, and because its slopes are open throughout the year, you can all seasons skiing. Mt. Hood Meadows is under 12 miles away and offers an array of terrain, from beginner bunny slopes to black diamond runs for experts.

In the summer, Mt. Hood Meadows also offers plenty of summer activities, including scenic hiking, chairlift rides, and more. For summer skiing and snowboarding, Timberline Ski Area has a small number of snow-filled runs for those looking to hit the powder year-round.

Plan your alpine retreat on Mt. Hood today and stay at this beautiful log cabin home!

This cabin was the perfect setting for our family to get together for a wedding anniversary and long ski weekend. It’s super cozy and well appointed. We had some issues with being snowed in and Vacasa made it right and we couldn’t be more grateful. Would definitely rent here again and highly recommend!

This home is really beautiful and decorated very tastefully. The living rooms had very comfortable furniture, but the beds were not terribly comfortable. Wi-fi worked and the kitchen had most items needed for cooking (did not have a saucepan, which I found odd). We did have a few issues on this reservation. They keycode did not work, so I had to call Vacasa to get the backup lockbox code and, when we did get it, found that one bed was either partially made or unmade and the smoke detected was beeping incessantly. It took a few hours for someone to come out to fix the alarm (which was in the vaulted ceiling so we couldn't do it ourselves) and we ended up stripping and making the bed ourselves.
Manager response:
We appreciate your patience in the matter and apologize for the delay you experienced during your stay. We are delighted to see you found the home otherwise enjoyable! Thank you!

Great location. Private hot tub on deck. Very comfortable, clean and spacious. Highly recommend!

The home was great for 6 women but needs a door on the downstairs toilet. It's a quick trip to Timberline skiing. Besides the door, the location was awesome and the house had everything we could have needed.
Manager response:
The pictures do indicate there is not a door for that bathroom, but the bathroom is tucked around behind a wall in the kids' room. We apologize if this came as a surprise.

Very nice rental with plenty of space for my husband, myself, our two small kids, my mother, sister and sister’s boyfriend. Cozy with gas fireplace in main living room and another gas stove downstairs in a second living room. Everything was clean. Plenty of linens. Hot tub was great. Will definitely try to stay here again next year.

We rented this cabin for a fun friend reunion and had a wonderful time! The kitchen is big enough for a few people to be in there at the same time and the living room is perfect for curling up by the fireplace and watching a movie. The hot tub was super easy to use and the beds were AMAZING. Best sleep of our lives! We would definitely stay here again.

This home is a walk to Government Camp and convenient to many walks. We enjoyed our visit!

The house was comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen. When we arrived the hot tub had been emptied so we couldn't use it the first night, and the coffee pot was missing but the owner followed up immediately to notify us of these things and dropped off a new coffee pot.

We couldn't get the tv to work and the internet was spotty. Other than that it was nice and very close to town.

We had a lot of fun. This property lived up to the expectations.

Hot tub was not cleaned prior to our stay so our group of 10 got a rash called hot tub folliculitis. We were miserable our entire time there. The bacteria not only caused us to have horrible chicken pox like rashes, but my brother had pain in both ears, my son has pain in one ear and boils on his feet so it hurt to walk, my niece had a fever and felt awful and I was horribly nauseous. We were given a discount on our stay but that didn't change the fact that we were all miserable. Maintenance came out and cleaned the hot tub but it smelled horribly after only a day. If you rent this beautiful home, make sure maintenance comes out and checks the hot tub before you get in it.

Other issues included the toilet not flushing on the second floor (which my dad fixed because maintenance didn't, even tho it was marked urgent) and the down stairs bedroom/bathroom filling with a sewer gas smell. Even tho this also was marked urgent, no one fixed it so my husband and I got to sleep in a room that stunk horribly the whole time.
Manager response:
We are so sorry to see the discomfort these guests experienced. The hot tub was been thoroughly cleaned and is serviced prior to each guest. The plumbing issues have been corrected.

The maintenance man was helpful. Beautiful wood interior. We could sled right outside our door.

The house was great and so was the location and if the house was cleaned a bit better i would give it a 5 star.

The home was cozy yet large enough to fit 10 of us. The home was very welcoming. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of seating. Loved how the you enter the house into a large "mud" room in which we were able to leave all our snow gear. The fooseball table provided hours of enjoyment and the hot tub was heavenly after being on slopes all day . The best part though was being able to use the road in front of the house for sledding. The weather provided plenty of snow!

The staff at this Vacasa location is the BEST such great customer service unlike other stays where we have had to call the staff for more towels or unclean homes, and received rude customer service. They came out and fixed the wifi and also drained and cleaned the hot tub, without us even having to call and request it. They are on top of it at Government Camp Vacasa.

My group of six had a great experience. This property is fantastic - clean, cozy, comfortable beds, three stories. Personally, we thought it looked better in person than it did in photos. We really enjoyed the two different sitting areas (one upstairs and one downstairs) where each had a TV.
The hot tub is brand-new, and the kitchen was stocked with good supplies. We had everything we needed!
Overall, we were really impressed with how nice the cabin was along with the customer service Vacasa provided and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
