Waterfront home with shared pool- one-minute walk to ski lifts!
To ski or not to ski. That is the question at this cozy Ketchum vacation rental. Lifts are only a minute away but there's plenty to do that's not ski-centric, too. The community amenities include a year-round pool, and with a queen and sofa bed, up to two guests sleep in comfort!
This two-story studio condo is just one minute from the Challenger and Greyhawk lifts on Bald Mountain and The Bald Mountain Inn. Downtown Sun Valley and Ketchum are mere minutes away by car.
While the word studio can conjure up images of small spaces, this condo feels bigger than most, thanks to its unique spiral staircases, which wind their way up from the living area to the sleeping loft and down to the ground level. But be aware - it's not for anyone with bad knees or balance issues, however, as the staircases are very narrow!
Enter the living area and you will spy many wonderful furnishings. Studio Anderberg, as it is called, boasts a cream carpet, floor-to-ceiling windows, a wood wall, a red textile couch that turns into a sofa bed, and a Southwestern print chair. A sliding glass door leads onto a cute balcony, complete with gas grill. A wood stove completes the interior.
A cozy kitchen, while limited in counter space, makes up for it in decor. Wooden cupboards envelope a small fridge and electric range. A two-seat dinette set completes the comfy ambiance.
Journey up the carpeted spiral staircase to the second floor, please note the stairs are narrow and may be challenging for elderly or physically challenged. New white comforter coverlet envelopes the queen bed. Fold and stack your clothes in the small wooden dresser or hang them in the small closet down the hall. Admire the scenery through the small window. Just a short walk away is the bathroom, which boasts striped gray wallpaper, plenty of plush towels, and a full bath.
There is free WiFi provided. The condo community has a shared laundry facility. Guests also have access to a year-round heated pool, with expanded hours in the summer.
With its natural splendor, Ketchum is an outdoor-lover's paradise. Skiers flock here in the winter for the wealth of powder options. With so many choices, from high-end resorts to smaller slopes, it's a ski and snowboarding mecca for a reason. Yet, there's so much else to do as well. Try your hand at horseback riding or hiking in the summer. Or head to one of the homey eateries in town. The customer is treated like a member of the family here.
With riverfront, mountain and valley views, this cozy Sun Valley/Ketchum vacation rental is the perfect spot from which to gaze at the natural splendor.

Perfect location. Very comfortable.
Location is great and home is comfortable. Nice hearing Warm Springs Creek running just outside the back. Staircase is limiting to anyone with balance or mobility issues.
The river was the draw! Beautiful location. Place is very cute and comfy despite the narrow spiral staircases. Left the slider open to hear the river and really enjoyed the Warm Springs area. Nice pool too.
...could have used a warning about the narrow spiral staircase!
Location was great & very pretty views from condo.
Loved he deck with the river below, and opening the sliding glass doors to fill the house with the sounds and smells of the outdoors.
Spectacular view with lots of natural light. The condo is small but well-stocked with everything you'd need. Perfect size for a couple, with just enough sitting room downstairs and outside on the deck. The staircase is narrow, but for the average-sized person, it's totally fine. The complex is in a nice, quiet location outside of town. The sound of the creek right outside was wonderful. Can't wait to stay here again next year.
The unit was exactly as pictured. No surprises whatsoever. We were steps from the lodge and lift, as well as public bus which is free. Ten minutes gets you into town. The heated pool/hot tub was also steps away and was awesome after skiing.
Overall a very cute and cozy place to stay. As others have mentioned, the spiral staircase is challenging. We are both fit, lean people and we had to be very mindful of the staircase any time we went up or down it. A minor issue once we got the hang of it. A regular coffee maker instead of the French press would have been nice. We bought a large mug and left it, since there was only one that size. We appreciated the spices left behind from other guests. The creek/river just outside also added to our stay. Very clean. We loved it and very much enjoyed our time there. We hope to return in the summer. Very near the Warm Springs chair lift, literally a 1 or 2 minute walk away. You can't beat the location if you re a skier. Two thumbs up!
The property was very dated the spiral staircase was a real pain in the butt. The location was great The View was fantastic. Overall just maybe wasn't my style
Aside from getting used to the narrow stair case, the condo was very clean and well-appointed. Perfect location for skiers and very comfortable.
The quirky part is the spiral staircase to enter the condo and the spiral staircase to the loft. The view and the creek running below the condo were worth the effort of lugging suitcases, gear, and groceries up that spiral. The bed was comfortable and there were plentiful amenities.
Let me start by saying this: I fell down the stairs. Other guests have commented that the two spiral staircases are narrow and difficult to navigate. That is very true. Going up, they're more like ladders. Carrying a large suitcase would be nearly impossible, and if you're a large person, look elsewhere because you likely wouldn't fit through the narrow spaces on both staircase. Going up is not so bad, but coming down the staircase between the living area and bedroom is downright scary. The stair treads are very, very narrow. At the top, you can hold the center post with one hand and the wall with the other. If you go down very carefully, putting your foot sideways on each tread, you'll be ok...until you get to the third from last stair. You can still hold the center post, but on your left, there's nothing but air. Signs inside the unit direct you to remove your shoes, which I had done. So, I was coming down wearing just socks and I got to third from last stair and I put my size 5 1/2 foot straight on the tread instead of sideways, and my foot slipped. I had ahold of the center post, which caused me to swing around, right to the top of the second spiral staircase, which goes downstairs. I fell down two of those stairs before managing to grab the wall in front of me. Luckily, I wasn't injured, just very shaken up, with a few scraped-up knuckles on one hand. There is no railing to hold on either staircase, so seriously...if you're staying in this unit, please go down slowly and carefully. Every tread is shaped differently - some are larger than others - but some only have a few square inches on which to place your feet on the way down. A fall on these stairs could result in a really serious injury, especially if one of your appendages happened to get stuck in the spaces between the treads as you fell.
Stairs aside, the unit is pretty cute and cozy, once you're settled into the level where you want to be. The main room is nice, and from the deck you have a great view of the pretty river. The mattress upstairs is not super comfortable, but the room itself is nice and has a huge window with a nice view. Several things were broken: the table on the deck, light fixture in the bathroom and hand towel bar in the bathroom. The little kitchenette is well-stocked and has everything you need. When we arrived at 11 pm, we found that the previous tenant had failed to leave the parking pass there. We called Vacasa and left a message, assuming we were out of luck for that evening. Vacasa called back within about 15 minutes. While they couldn't get a pass for us that night, they did have someone drop one by the very next morning. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but those stairs are really no joke. If you're looking at staying here, please be extra careful.
We apologize the stairs were such a concern for this guest. We also apologize for the broken items and will get them fixed promptly.
Very nice property -- but, spiral staircase to upper level is really narrow. Tough to get large suitcase upstairs.
This place is perfect for two people and maybe a child or two. We loved being near the ski lift and the lodge for lunch and after skiing hang out.
Must be able to walk up two flights of spiral staircases, but otherwise great place! Would stay here again.
You cannot beat the location of this property. It is a quick (very short) walk to the ski lift and to the bus stop for free transportation to downtown. As already mentioned, the stairs are a little tricky, but if you don't have any physical issues that the stairs might be a problem, this condo is wonderful! Also, a large suitcase might be challenging to get up the stairs. It would much easier with a soft duffel.
The location was fabulous! It is a very short 1 to 2 minute walk to the lifts. The kitchen is very small and if you are planning on cooking dinners it might not be the best choice. We ate breakfast at the condo and lunch and dinners out so it was not a problem for us. The one negative for us was the spiral staircase. It is very tight and difficult to get your suitcase up the stairs. We are not large individuals and in good shape and although we could manage it would have been more comfortable without dealing with the stairs. And when you first walk in you have to go up the stairs to the main floor and then again to the bedroom and only bathroom.
This is a great place for the money. My husband and I stayed here and it was great for 2 people. I would not recommend having any more than 2 people. The grounds were nice and I enjoyed the pool too.
This condo is in a great spot. The chairlift is literally on the other side of the wall enclosing the development. But the narrow, steep spiral stairs which have to be negotiated are something else. Not easy to get luggage up and down. Also VERY dangerous for toddlers/young kids. The rail on the top floor was about 10 inches wide and a small child could easily crawl through and fall. We had to barricade the top with an extra piece of carpet found in the closet and dresser drawers.
Also, the entrance into the condo is very small. There's no place to sit and take ski boots off. There is barely room for 2 people to just stand, let alone move around to get gear on and off.
Despite all of this, we enjoyed our stay. But knowing about these shortcomings beforehand would have been nice.
By the way, we stayed in June but we are avid skiers.
We are sorry to see this guest was a bit disappointed with the design of the unit and hope the great location made up for it!
Great location and overall lovely studio. Very quiet with beautiful light and views of the river and mountain.
Within walking distant to Warm Spring lifts!
Great proximity to lifts. All necessary amenities easy off street parking. Love the creek edge and deck. Love the pool after a hard day skiing. Great, responsive staff. Would stay again
Great location. Nice comfortable unit......once you get accustomed with the access challenge. Definitely avoid if you might come home a bit tipsy!
Very quiet in Jan; good show and no ski lines but cold. The studios is very located for skiing. Stairs were not a problem for us but are certainly not to code. I would recommend Sun Valley in Jan only for snow enthusiast. Bars and restaurants were not impressive in this month (and fairly expensive).
I loved my stay here! The place is adorable in an old-fashioned way (i.e., classic cozy lodge style, not modern sleek lodge style) and the geothermal-heated pool was a gift from the gods (there is not a separate hot tub but the pool is 102 degrees). I did not have a single problem.
I think I should add, though, that the stairs are extremely tight and steep, and there are two flights of stairs. My friend and I joked that they should be called a ladder, not stairs. My friend and I are both thin and very fit so we had absolutely no trouble. But all the same, we couldn't stop cracking up at how tight and steep the stairs were. We could barely get our bags up because the angles are so tight. If you are elderly or have knee trouble, I would advise you against this unit. If you're a skier or hiker, don't worry about it. The stairs add to the fun!
BTW, the reviewer who complained about the balcony is crazy. It absolutely is on the river, with an amazing view.
Thank you for this great review! This home has that small spiral staircase that leads upstairs, and might be hard for older people to maneuver. We are glad that you enjoyed the pool and the amazing view from the balcony! We can't wait for you to visit Vacasa again soon.
The studio is clean, comfy, nicely furnished, great location and price. We loved the close access to the lifts and bus line. The only caution to note is the steep, narrow staircases on the two floors. As other reviewers have noted, as long as you're reasonably athletic and not too wide, they're doable.
We wanted to give it 5 stars, but the misleading photo of the balcony felt like false advertising, as it's not the actual unit you are renting. In addition, the challenges of spiral staircases were not thoroughly disclosed (there are two, not just one, and they are very narrow and difficult to navigate, even for two healthy, active people). Even so, if this was fully disclosed, we'd be happy to give 5 stars.
This property is in a great location, as you can literally walk to the lifts from the front door and then to the community pool/spa. It is clean, comfortable, and an efficient use of space. The river is just off the balcony (although not as large or as close as the cover photo shows). The sound of running water and the view was still great.
The spiral staircases (there is one from the door to the main living area and then another to the sleeping loft) are tricky and it's difficult to carry bags up and down. You need to have good strength and balance to navigate them. There is no dining table and chairs at which to eat. You need to be comfortable sitting on the sofa and/or floor at the coffee table, which worked fine for us.
The place is comfortable and cozy, with a small, but very functional, clean, and well-stocked kitchen. The bed linens were really soft and cozy, making it difficult to get up in the morning, despite the fantastic natural playground that awaits you outside!
Thank you for sharing your review. We would have loved a 5 star review. Our listing does make it clear that the home has spiral stairs "While the word studio can conjure up images of small spaces, this condo feels bigger than most, thanks to its unique spiral staircase, which winds its way up from the living area to the sleeping loft. But be aware - it's not for anyone with bad knees or balance issues, however!"
We are so pleased that you did enjoy the comfy condo and it's amazing location. The owner has taken great care to ensure that it is comfortable and welcoming for guests. Please come stay again!
This was a last-minute rental for us, but we were pleased with the fabulous location within walking distance to the lifts. The studio condo was extremely clean and comfortable. The very narrow spiral staircase does make it difficult to get luggage and ski bags up and down, but that's just the way it is and we managed just fine. It might not be a good choice for older folks who may have bad knees or hips, though. As stated above, directions on how to operate the TV and fireplace would be very helpful, and getting the stuck drawers in the loft chest of drawers to open are the only suggestions. Thanks for a wonderful New Year's Week stay! We'd definitely rent again!
