Dog-friendly oceanfront home w/ fantastic views, entertainment - close to beach!
Plan an escape to the Oregon Coast with this sunny house in Barview. Offering an oceanfront location, entertainment, and spectacular views of both the water and the jetty, up to 12 guests (plus your family dog) will share a memorable time here!
Located on the bank of the Tillamook Bay just two miles past Garibaldi, you can reach a long stretch of beach by walking down the road to Barview Jetty Park. Shops, cafés, and restaurants in Rockaway Beach are just over a three-mile drive north.
The home has a sunny interior with walls of picture windows, polished wood floors, and fun nautical decor throughout. On the top floor of this three-level house, you'll find the great room featuring living, kitchen, and dining areas. Sit back in the comfy leather furniture and watch the ocean waves or get cozy with a book by the wood stove.
Pull out a board game for some fun with the group, or turn on the flatscreen cable TV to watch a VHS or DVD from the collection. You'll be able to post your newest vacation photos with complimentary WiFi.
On the other side of the room is a spacious kitchen, fully equipped for all cooking needs, including extras like a mixer, blender, coffeemaker, and dishwasher to make assorted tasks just a little bit easier. The dining table will fit six, and six more stools at the adjacent breakfast bar provide enough seating for everybody.
A second living area on the middle floor has a variety of comfortable couches and a bookshelf stocked with good reads. You can enjoy ocean views from the picture windows here, as well, or play a board game at the table with four chairs.
Both the middle and uppermost levels have an oceanside balcony for getting fresh air. You'll also find a gas grill, patio furniture, and an outdoor firepit for enjoying time outside in friendly weather.
Four bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths allow up to 12 guests to sleep here comfortably. One room has a king bed, and a second offers a full-size bed. Two rooms each feature a queen bed with a built-in set of twin bunk beds. A private washer/dryer in one of the bathrooms makes it easy to do laundry. You're welcome to bring your dog alone, just note that a pet fee applies.
This spacious house is perfect for a large group or family - start your mornings off right with a steaming cup of coffee on the balcony, watching fisherman and crabbers on the jetty, or keeping an eye open for marine life in the bay. After breakfast, take a stroll down to Barview Jetty Park to explore tide pools and take a long walk down the sand.
Make the short drive east to Garibaldi to pick up some supplies and fresh seafood for dinner, or venture north to Rockaway for a bite to eat. Be sure to stop by Twin Rocks along the way for a photo session. If you've never been, the Tillamook Cheese Factory is worth a day trip - they are known for exceptionally delicious cheese and ice cream. Finish a long day with a glass of wine on your deck while you drink in the sunset.

The house was great for the 9 family members we had there. At first being right on the train tracks seemed odd, but it is just the Oregon scenic train and everytime it came by we ran out to wave. It made the place really unique! Really enjoyed Rockaway beach and spent a day in Cannon Beach. The house had everything we needed!
We had a wonderful weekend getaway, the views were beautiful.
We rented this house for my moms 60th birthday. It was absolutely PERFECT. I loved every thing about the house. There was plenty of room for our family to visit and celebrate. We were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. My teenage nephews fished everyday just steps away from the house. The view was amazing. The kitchen is ginormous, Personally my favorite room. We will definitely be back next year.
The views from this home are absolutely AMAZING! My family and friends started the first of hopefully many wonderful memories here in this well equipped house! The fire pit outside was great! I think the grown ups enjoyed it more than the kids! The only complaints I have are..... not enough bath & kitchen towels and the stairs are tiring! However this won’t keep me from going back!!!!
This home was the perfect weekend getaway for our small group of friends! Would definitely rent this home again.
The Jettyview Escape was an amazing house. Very spacious and accommodating with a beautiful view. Will stay there again.
The house was just right for our crew of 10 (6 adults, 3 kids 12 & under & an infant). The view from the living areas was wonderful and we had so much fun getting the young ones excited about the little tourist train that rambled past several times a day. The kitchen is enormous and worked well for our large group (never too many cooks in the kitchen although we could have used a couple extra kitchen towels). The only drawback was the erratic internet service. However, Vacasa and as well as the owner were responsive in having it checked out and provided a refund for the internet fee for the inconvenience. While I don't know that I'll travel from Ohio for another vacation in that area, I highly recommend the property for large groups or family gatherings. We made some great memories at the Escape!
The good: Theview of the jetty was spectacular as were the sunsets. The charming steam train comes by three times a day and was a bit attraction. Overall the property was very nice, not new but well maintained. The nearby beach was somewhat small and only really accessible during low tide periods but the kids were able to find some small crabs in the tidal pools!
Just a comment: The house layout was a bit odd in that nearly all the bedrooms were on the middle floor with the kitchen and living room on the top floor resulting in a lot of stair climbing for the youngsters in our party.
The not-so-great: the outdoor grill was a greasy mess and had not been cleaned in some time, and tree branches had overgrown the firepit so no s'mores for our crew as we did not want to set the tree on fire! Lastly, it's 2018 so DSL internet is sloooooow. You can do basic surfing on the internet but don't expect too much and pack your patience if several people are on at the same time.
We are sorry to see there were some disappointments with this stay. The grill has been cleaned by housekeeping, the owner has landscaping scheduled, and the internet is the only service currently available in this location. Thank you!
Had concerns that the train tracks close to house may be used by freight at night, however tacks were only used local sight seeing trains that ran by a few times at low speed each day. Kids loved the tide pools south of the house along the tracks roughly 500 yards at crab rock / the three graces. Also the Barview tide pool as you head towards the jetty we're nice.
Great view and location. The place was clean and spacious. The kitchen was large and well stocked.
This is a great house. Clean, spacious and well furnished. We have stayed here for years, and always come back!!
Beautiful house with plenty of space and a great deck! Quick walk to the beach. Definitely want to stay again!
the view and the opening of the house.
We loved the kitchen upstairs lay out if this home. It made it great for cooking and socializing. The fire pit was a great evening time bonus.
love the location, privacy, abundance of room, large gathering room, ( two of them) kitchen...stairs are draw-back for seniors
We did a writing retreat in this location. It was wonderful apart from the internet access. Close to the beach and the views from the main area of the house were fantastic. :)
Nice place to stay especially if you live to crab and fish.
A great home with wonderful beach views. We had a lot of fun exploring along the rocks in front of the home. The sandy beach is a little bit of a walk, but it was really neat to walk along the rocks. There is also a path to access the beach by walking through the nearby campground.
It was nice having the two living areas, and the huge kitchen.
The house is perfect layout for large groups.
The view was amazing! and just a short walk to the beach. You could not hear any freeway noise and the train was not running when we were there. I would definitely recommend this house!!
The house is located just across the tracks from the bay - you can see the north and south jettys and the bar (ocean). This is a view done right!! The windows on the top floor are tall, perfect for looking at the water, boats, seagulls, and sunsets. This view is mezmerizing. Kitchen was only somewhat stocked. Bring things like zipkocks and Tupperware and suran wrap if you want to cook and store food. If you have 12 people staying here, consider bringing paper plates or other dishes. There's probably about 12 plates total - that would be a lot of dish washing for a large group. Furniture is old but comfy. Beds are nice. Plenty of room for people. Crabbing was great. VCR in library allowed us to watch old tapes. You have neighbors on one side and abandoned house on other side (no issues with either). Our stay here was magical and memorable. This house is on our list to stay at again!
Great view of the bay and ocean. A Christmas train comes by a few times a day with Santa. Two flights of stairs to get to the main level. HUGE kitchen and lots of room for everyone and dogs
Amazing sunrise and sunset! There is a train right infront of the house however with only very few travels, if you bring children, just have to keep an eye on them. There is spot to fish right infront of the house. There is a boat landing very close by. The sand beach is walks away. Perfect location!
We had a good experience staying here for 3 days, all my family members enjoying it. Easy access location to bay for fishing/crabbing. Nice view for dinner table. Only minor things are doors locks and shower door were not working properly.
We are thrilled to see this guest had an enjoyable stay! The door locks and shower door have been fixed. Thank you!
I stayed here with 10 other people, and we all had a wonderful time. The drive to either Tillamook and Rockaway Beach was very easy up or down the 101, giving us plenty to do during the days. I also went on a hike up Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain to the north for incredible views, which took under an hour.
There is no beach immediately outside of the house, but with the two large decks we were very happy with our sunset and outdoor relaxing situation. Rockaway was only 5 minutes away too, and we spent a full day on that beach and town.
I certainly would stay here again!
This home was lovely, just right for our family reunion. It wasn't as clean as I had expected. Loved the big kitchen and two great big decks.
We apologize for any lack of cleanliness. We ask that guests please call us if there is a sub-par clean so we can rectify the matter. Thank you!
Very nice place to stay very comfortable Lotta things around to do but the stairs were very hard on some of the family members
Nice place, way too many stairs.
The weather did not cooperate with our trip to the coast, so unfortunately we spent much of our stay indoors. But this house was a great house to weather out the storms in. It was large enough that our group of 5 adults and 6 kids did not feel cramped at all. The furnishings were great. Lots of comfy couches and chairs to lounge on while looking out the large windows at the waves pummeling the jetty across the way. There were enough trinkets and artwork on display to give the house some nice aesthetic appeal, but it was done in a kid-friendly way and I didn't have to worry constantly about my kids breaking pricey works of art. Despite what one review said, the railroad tracks are in use, but they were solely used for the scenic tour railroad and the train moved slowly and quietly and did not disturb us in any way. The train passed by about 4 times or so each day we were there. We really enjoyed our time there despite the stormy weather. We'll have to try and rent it again and hope for better weather next time!
The view from this place is amazing! It was fun to walk out and be able to fish from the rocks across the street. The train tracks aren't in use, so that's not an issue. There is a store a block away which is handy.
The house itself is so-so. Pretty simple furnishings on both the upper and middle levels. The garage is really must smelling but it seems to stay down there. The house worked well for us as we had kids with us who could play in the family room on the middle level, but the overall condition of the place is not as nice as I would have hoped. The pricing is probably ok for normal weeks, but we paid triple the price since it was a holiday weekend and that was way too much for this place regardless of the time of year.
