Unplugged, dog-friendly getaway w/tree-lined views, & private yoga studio

Give yourself and your loved ones a break from the hustle and bustle, while you revel in the peace that surrounds this dog-friendly Durango retreat. Boasting a private detached yoga or meditation studio as well as tree-lined privacy, this the perfect spot to get away from it all.

Set 16 miles from the heart of Durango, and only seven miles from the Vallectito Reservoir, you won't have any problem finding fun things to explore. During the winter we recommend using a 4x4 vehicle to access the home safely.

Vaulted wood-beamed ceilings and a wide-open floor plan let the abundance of light showcase all of the crafted wood accents. Cuddle up with a good book while the you listen to some vinyl tunes on the turntable. The private washer/dryer will take care of any laundry that you may have during your stay.

Step out on the deck with an ice-cold brew and kick back in the Adirondack chairs while you take in the tree-lined views.

While your guests lounge on the bar stools at the breakfast bar, you can get to work on dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. With stainless steel appliances, crafted counters, and a dishwasher to help with the cleanup, keeping everyone fueled up and on the go will be a breeze. After dinner head back out on the deck to watch the stars come out with an indulgent nightcap.

When it's time to turn in, this two-bedroom, one-bathroom home has room for up to four guests and one canine companion under 60 pounds (for a small nightly fee). On the main level you'll find the master bedroom with a queen-size bed waiting to lull you into a restful night of sleep. Upstairs in the large loft bedroom, there is another queen-size bed as well as a small sitting area.

Wake up with the warm sunshine and walk down to the small detached meditation studio to start your day. With the privacy of the forest as your backdrop, your time will be filled with peace and tranquility.

Spend a day exploring the picturesque trails that run through the San Juan National Forest. Then head over to the Vallectito Reservoir to kayak along the shores, or maybe cast a line in the Animas River to take some time to unwind. Treat everyone to a night out at Steamworks Brewery while you dive into a seasonal flight of microbrew suds.

Leave the daily grind of the city behind, and let your batteries recharge as you unplug at this Colorado relaxing getaway.

Beautiful cabin, well kept and had everything I needed. Nice to get away from the TV set. Little seasonal creek was running, making a soothing sound.

Loved the view!

The cabin had everything we needed. We went in October and the heat was limited to 63 degrees which was cold. If we were told how to crank up the wood stove to provide better heat then it would have been better. We figured it out on day 2.

The cabin was really nice. Sitting out on the deck was so peaceful.

One of the best porch views you’re likely to find, in a cabin still close enough to town to be convenient. This place was perfect for us.

Lovely home, great views, proximate to Vallecito Lake Trail.

Property is pretty much as described. Quite, and clean.

The cabin is beautiful. It's too bad ants were crawling all over the coffee maker and sink. The shower only had hot water so was unusable. We stayed three nights and the shower couldn't be fixed in that amount of time (called the first evening we were there). An offer was made on the last afternoon of our stay to have us move to another location--a lot of effort to move to a property that did not sound like an upgrade. PASS. No monetary offers were made to offset the poor plumbing and ANTS that we had to deal with! There also were a few other bugs, but that was to be expected based on being in the woods. Driving on the very steep dirt/rock road (in poor shape) will get your vehicle filthy.
Manager response:
We're very sorry the guest experienced issues with ants and no cold water. Both problems have since been resolved. Thank you.

This home was an amazing getaway with beautiful views!

Beautiful scenery! Quiet and relaxing atmosphere! Enjoyed being unconnected via internet and television but phone service available. Second day before we realized there is no clock!

This cabin is well maintained, nicely furnished with simple comfortable furniture and accessories that are lovely native inspired theme. It's a perfect mountain retreat that you won't want to leave ! The views are lovely. There is no TV or Internet but it has a lot of nice personal touches the owner has shared with visitors like an extensive record collection, interesting books, well stocked kitchen with spices and yummy coffee and other things to add to your meals ! There is a nice deck to relax on and a charming meditation room ! We definitely enjoyed our week there and plan to return when we can.

Nice remote cabin in the woods. Almost no one around this time of year. Cozy and comfortable place. It does require 4 wheel drive and decent clearance to get to this time of year.
