Great location and comfortable place.
Dated interior but the location makes up for it. Conveniently located in the Village (one building away from ice skating rink and across from Copperlane marke). Unit is peaceful and quiet, with the action only steps away. Best of all and a pleasant surprise, the assigned parking space is directly across from the EV/Tesla chargers, which made it easy to monitor availability and quickly move between parking space and charging spots.
Location was great...amenities were pretty good too.
Hotel style room right on the premises of the Village at Northstar. Loved how close we were to the lifts and all the stores. It was also super convenient that the little market/store was just down from our room! Would recommend if you want to be close to everything at Northstar!
The location is great. Cost of the unit was reasonably priced and every effort was made to make sure our time there was enjoyable. Very easy check in and check out.
Great location in the Northstar village for money! A parking space included. Easy load and unload in the garage with access to the elevator. Not fancy but clean and great for a few days at Northstar.
Important note: if you stay for one night and are planning to ski the following day, you will likely have to move your car as the parking pass must be returned upon checkout. Pretty much just a bedroom and bathroom, but the location and value can’t be beat. Would stay again.
Room smelled and hasnt been updated in 50 years except for the TV. Bed had a nice foam topper but the decor is lacking.....unless you want to travel back in a time warp.
The owner is not interested in making any changes at this time. We apologize if this comes as a disappointment to this guest.
The property location was great. The unit itself was very dated, cramped and not like the pictures promoted. The beds were unkempt and the sheets had an awful, used smell to them (or may have been the comforter or pillows). Luckily we had two beds and ended up sharing, because the other was not in condition to be used.
We are sorry to see this guest was dissatisfied with some aspects of their stay. The mattresses were replaced last month, and we are hoping to have the bedding upgraded in the near future. The sheets are changed between each stay, and we apologize for any odors the guest experienced with them and wish they had contacted us regarding the matter.
Suggestion. Sofa bed would leave a lot more room for people needing only one bed. Many sofa beds are now very comfortable with new age foam and or airbed mattresses in them.
The owner is not interested in replacing the bed with a sofa bed at this time, but we do hope guests enjoy the new queen mattress in place!
You get what you pay for, good location but bad bedding quality. Will pay a bit more for a good night sleep
We are sorry to see the beds did not suit this guest's preferences.
Staying in Northstar Village is great! Such a beautiful environment and Truckee has great places for food and drinks. The room itself is satisfactory. I was there on business and it served the purpose of convenience.
For what we did this weekend resort was very adequate. Never had the chance to use more of resort facilities which would have been nice given what was offered. Would certainly go back especially during snow season.
Location is great. Reserved parking is huge. This unit is fine for two or three people. Four is pushing it. Decor is classic 1984. Not bad, but an interesting time warp.
This is a very simple room, probably hasn't been updated since it was a new build and was kind of dirty. On the plus side the beds were comfortable and AC was good.
It was okay as we weren't in our room very much.
nothing fancy but great location and price. you do hear walking and plumbing, though, so bring your ear plugs!
I love being right in the village. The studio had everything we needed for our mini getaway. I loved having a closet space for our ski gear and all the extra hooks to hang our ski clothes was appreciated. I'm already looking at staying there again soon. It was nice to receive emails confirming our stay and very detailed so there wrre no surprises when we arrived. I do wish they would list how much the VRBO fees was going to be before you booked the room. You don't know until you get the bill on your credit card. My fee was 50.00.
This unit is located right next to the village and is in a great location to ski off the mountain. As far as skiing went it was PERFECT!
Its once you actually get off the mountain and in to this unit is why I am giving it a 2-Star review. First of all don't be fooled by the pictures, this place is smaller than your average Motel 6. The cable didn't work, the wi-fi was extremely poor, half the lights weren't functional and each night I was awoken at 4 A.M. in the morning to a snowplow right outside the front door that spent most the time obnoxiously backing up with the steady ring of a garbage truck in reverse.
I know that is not the owners fault of Northstar cleaning at 4 A.M. but needless to say it wasn't the "vacation" I had in mind.
This is a skier's crash pad, nothing more or less. Noisy in the mornings. Location is the saving grace.
The room is very cramped with the existing furniture. The beds are old, very soft and the bedding is extremely dated which always raises the question of cleanliness.
There is poor airflow in the room and the wall heater is very noisy and creates a uncomfortable draft on the closer bed- nor really usable when people are in the room
Unit was clean, best used just for sleeping. Ski closet was nice. In the middle of many restaurants. Easy walk to gondola. Can't beat this place on price/location value.
You can't being IN the village, but besides that this is really no more than a hotel room. Works only for a family.
Unfortunately what we didn't know and the website never told us was northstar village was shut down so it was like a beautiful ghost town. The location would have been perfect had everything been open we picked that location for the ice skating the shops and all the other conveniently-located attractions but none of them were open the room we stayed in was rather run down and dirty it kind of felt like a Motel 6 to us the elevator was broken and we were three flights up I personally would not stay at that location again
We apologize that this guest was taken by surprise by the resort being temporarily shut down for winter preparations. This condo is one of the originals built when Northstar was first open, so, it is older, but it is also functional and in a good location. Unfortunately, the elevator is out of our control; building maintenance is actively working on getting it up and running for the winter season.
This place needs a face lift...
We are sorry to see that this guest was disappointed with the cosmetics of the unit. Everything is in working order for our guests, and we hope that our guests would contact us if they needed assistance with any maintenance issues during their stay.
Location location location.
Great location but room needs renovation
Perfect location in Northstar. Unit is not fancy, but who wants to hang in the room anyways. Beds are comfortable. Shower head is a bit low.
We were a bit confused the last day we stayed there. The instructions told us to leave by 11:00 and put the parking pass back in the room. It did not state if we could stay parked for the day of snow boarding.
We'll definitely go back and stay here again.
Would go again, but expected a bit more.
The price was good, but the location on 2nd floor was not great. Noisy people above us kept us awake in the wee hours of the morning.
Great location for parking and elevator, also for nearby Northstar restaurants (the ones that were open) and the rec area.
Nice place for 2! Right in the village but no shopping, 95% of the stores are closed or ski type shops. They did have a Starbucks open, the hit of the village. No souvenir shops. You need a car to run errands, get groceries, etc. Pool $2/day. Bring washcloths, none available. No day to day cleaning bring pool towels.
I had a couple night stay with my kids during their Spring Break and the room was perfect for the rate charged. The kids really enjoyed being right in the village and steps away from the gondola and rink. We would stay again.
If you are looking for a simple and clean place to stay at Northstar this will fit the bill. It is a little small for a family of 4, especially with all our snow gear but we spent most of the time outside anyways. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We did not cook there - that would have been hard since one of the beds is practically right up against the mini kitchen area but I was glad to have the mini fridge and microwave.
Literally steps from the resort gondola, easy access with skis, and very cheery staff.
This is right in the village of Northstar and didn't have to drive anywhere once we arrived. Great location and place clean. 2 queen beds and 4 adult stayed comfortably.
It may feel like Motel 6 when you first walk in but there is a great deal more to this offer! The recreation center is HUGE for just $2 a day. Plenty for the kids and adults. You cannot find a better deal than this and enjoy a luxurious getaway for the price.
Nice to be so close to all the attractions of the village. The place is in good shape overall!
Right in the middle of the village of the ski resort. Several spots for dining and enjoying the winter on the mountains . I loved the seats around the fire pits, they were great for toasting marshmallows and drinking hot cocoa while watching people ice skating.
The Room had two beds and they were very comfortable. Tv with cable and several channels. The room size was ok, there is a kitchenette area with microwave, coffee maker, sync and fridge. Not a lot of space or anything fancy. But good enough to spend the days right in the middle of everything.
The room was very warm too, without the heat on the room kept a comfortable temperature inside overnight even though outside was snowing and around 28F.
Its a place to crash. If you're looking for a inexpensive place to stay while you do your activities its very good for a couple, maybe family of four.
