Waterfront, dog-friendly home w/ fireplace, chef's kitchen, & back patio

A spacious oasis right on seasonal (June - July only) Lake Cascade, this three-bedroom home features beautiful architectural details like slanted wood beam ceilings and artisan mosaic work. You'll feel like you're at your own private lake lodge, with luxurious touches throughout this lovely space.

For some of the best lake views in the house, you'll want to spend time in the attractively decorated living room. Leather sectional sofas, an ottoman, and overstuffed chairs are placed strategically around the large, open room. There is a rock-faced wood burning fireplace for chilly evenings, high-speed internet, a flat screen TV with cable for watching DVDs, and stylish berber carpet on the floor. Track lighting provides a soft ambiance for settling back and enjoying this homey space. Great views of the outside can be had from any seat and there is a large glass door leading out to the deck.

Loaded with country-chic charm, the open kitchen boasts hardwood floors, granite countertops, and a unique tile backsplash. All the expected appliances are at your disposable for endless culinary escapades, including a dishwasher. Once dinner is ready, the large wooden dining table has seating for the whole group with chairs and a wall mounted bench. An iron chandelier hangs over the table for a little rustic ambiance. You'll definitely be inspired by this space to start the mornings off right with a hearty homemade breakfast -- perhaps huckleberry pancakes, maple syrup, and crisp bacon before heading down to the lake?

Rain or shine, the covered back patio is also a very tempting option for enjoying meals! Head out through the glass door off the living room and you'll be rewarded with sweeping views and comfortable patio furniture. Throw some fresh fish on the gas grill for a special dinner surrounded by the great outdoors; after dinner, it's a short walk off the deck to the tree-lined stone steps down to the dock.

In the evenings, you'll have three bedrooms and a comfortable loft to choose from. On the lower level, the first bedroom contains a queen-size bed with decorative wood frame. The ceiling has more wood beams, while big picture windows let in lots of bright light and display additional lake views. Antique wood furniture, including a dresser with attached oval mirror, and blue accent colors give this room a cozy, laid-back vibe. A full bathroom with a custom river rock tile floor, large walk-in shower with an attractive mosaic design, and beautiful accents is just across the hallway.

Also downstairs is a great kids' room designed with fun in mind! Three sets of twin bunk beds with bright bedding create a slumber-party atmosphere that will make it no problem at all to get the younger ones off to bed. This bedroom also has a door that leads outside to the patio, so it's an easy place to leave toys and outdoor gear. Rounding out the lower level is a utility room complete with washer and dryer.

Heading upstairs, you'll find the third bedroom, loft, and additional bathroom. Bright and airy, the loft has a queen bed, cushy couch seating, ceiling fans, a TV and DVD player, and a great selection of movies. Just pop some popcorn, get comfortable, and settle in for an entertaining movie night!

The upstairs bedroom has a quilt-covered queen-sized bed, plush carpeting, and unique slanted ceilings. A picture window looks right out over the lake and mountains and there is a small seating area with two over-stuffed chairs. A full bathroom on this level has paneled walls, patches of rock mosaic flooring, and a walk-in shower. With three bedrooms and two full baths, this house can comfortably sleep eight people. The family dog is also welcome to join you for your stay for an additional nightly fee.

In the summer, the lake is definitely the place to be! There's fishing, boating, kayaking and just think -- you'll have a front row spot for all the adventure. Golfing is less than 15 miles away on the other side of the lake at Tamarack Resort. If you're feeling a bit daring, you can even take a zipline tour of the area. Come wintertime, the Donnelly area transforms into a seasonal wonderland of skiing, sledding, sleigh rides, and snowmobiling.

There are a number of restaurant choices in town, but a little farther north in McCall, you'll find everything from microbrews and burgers at the McCall Brewing Company to upscale Italian outdoor dining at Romano's Ristorante. McCall also has plenty of shopping, galleries, and entertainment options, but before long you'll certainly want to head back to your wonderful lakefront getaway.

The Loomis Lakefront Hunting Lodge will definitely be a memorable place to stay on your next Lake Cascade family vacation!

* Lake Cascade is a reservoir. The water level depletes in front of this property beginning early August. Some time during the first two weeks of Aug. the water drops down to 1' and the dock and lake become marshy, shallow and unusable.

There is a lot of space indoors and out to be together or do multiple families. Beautiful relaxed, peaceful wetland setting. We saw eagles, herons, cranes, hummingbirds, too many to list all.

Great house but needs a good deep cleaning from head to toe. If you’d re going to Lake Cascade after 7/15, stay on the main channel. Water levels elsewhere are really low with lots of water weed growth.
Manager response:
We are glad to see this guest enjoyed the house and apologize for any cleanliness oversights. We do have a deep clean scheduled for this fall. We do advertise that Cascade Lake is a reservoir that is seasonal; the dam controls the levels and it varies with the water availability. Thanks!

This was our second time staying at this cabin. We came back because it was perfect for our week on the lake. The place is nice with great access to a quiet part of the lake. We love the dock and privacy. We had a blast.

In the middle of the week it feels like it is your own private lake as almost nobody is there.

This year, the water was lower so we had some sand below the deck that the kids enjoyed.

Warm cozy home, very well maintained, great kitchen!
Love the views, the water is beautiful and our kids really enjoyed the deck and dock♡ we will be returning soon! Thank you

Beautiful home, gorgeous views of lake. Home is very inviting and clean. Thank you vacasa for taking such good care of property and cleanliness of home. A must rent!

Nice, quiet place.

This house has a nice secluded location and us really big. A ton of beds with all of the bunk beds. A good house for a bunch of guys that don't care about sleeping next to each other on bunk beds.
Kaitlin H. Jan 2018
This house was perfect for our group! We were able to walk right from the cabin to the lake to go ice fishing and caught some perch to fry in the well-stocked kitchen!
The wood stove made the cabin cozy and the sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group of 8. We'll definitely be back!

It was amazing to wake up to the view out the back windows every morning. A truly special place!

Love the lake, beautiful view
Winfred V. Sep 2017
Even though the water was low the view was great. We have never seen such an array of waterfowl anywhere.

Even though the home has a few things that weren't perfect for our family, the views of Lake cascade and access to the water more than make up for it. The home was clean and comfortable. We brought our own paddle boat and kept it parked at our private dock, and caught many fish. We made wonderful memories here

We highly recommend a stay at Paradise Cottage on the Lake. It is very clean, both inside and out, well appointed and comfortable. I very glad that we were there while the lake is high and the dock was usable. I only wish that we had arranged to have a boat with us. Next time!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! We loved having coffee on the dock and drinks on the patio. So peaceful and beautiful being on the lake.

This cabin could not be more perfect for our family vacation!

This house was incredible! However, I think there is a den of skunks living behind the house because both our dogs were sprayed in the face within 10 minutes of each other and each time the skunk ran off and then our dog would discover another skunk behind the property! Didn't dampen our spirits though.

We booked based on the description and the pics thinking we were staying on the lake. My boys wanted to fish the whole time. There was NO water! It's seasonal only as it's not on the main lake. Other than that, it's a nice area, very quiet and peaceful. But we wanted a lake front home and we got dirt.
Maria B. Aug 2016
Nice house, with great views. Very peaceful sunsets. However, the house does not have dock access all summer long...lake was lowered in late July preventing any type of water fun from the house.
Steven B. Aug 2016
Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We loved every second of our 3 day stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone, but especially to families with children. Perfect family accommodations and little touches that the children appreciated-bunks beds, mini cushy chairs, stuffed animals, etc. The dock was an added benefit. Kids were swimming and loving it!
Leslie A. Jul 2016
Everything about this home was perfect for us. No detail has been overlooked in the amenities and decor. We hope to be back next summer!
Nancy R. Jun 2016
Very cozy cabin for adults and wonderful sleeping bunk bed room for multiple kids. We enjoyed the great view, fire pit, and floating dock. Lots of bird watching especially the humming birds coming to the feeders. The osprey fishing to take back food to their nests was awesome. We would definitely enjoy coming again.

We enjoyed every minute of our christmas stay! We created fantastic sledding courses all over he place. We loved the cozy fireplace and awesome atmosphere. It was a wonderful vacation and a memory that will last a lifetime!
Katherine B. Feb 2015
So close to all the happenings for Winter Carnival. Yet away from the crowds. Beautiful view and accommodations.
Tonya M. Aug 2014
Beautiful house, the bunk room and the fire pit were favorites with the kids. There is no mention or picture of the great tree swing outside but it was also a favorite! Kitchen was well stocked. Only drawback, we went in mid to late July and the dock was almost dry. The water was so low that the seaweed was overgrown and we couldn't even get the paddle boards out because of the moss and seaweed. We had to drive 6 miles away to the day use camp area so the kids could swim and use the stand up paddle boards.
Jake M. Jul 2014
I would strongly recommend this lakefront home. It's beautiful inside with all of the details needed for living. Home is right on the lake and a wonderful environment. The only negatives were that the home does not have Wifi internet access. Also, I would request by the management team to extend the dock out onto the lake as the shoreline water is difficult to swim in.
Manager response:
Thanks for your 5 star review. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit. We appreciate your suggestions about the dock and wifi. We'll certainly pass that along to the home owner.
Dorothy M. Jul 2014
Very well stocked kitchen, minus rubber spatulas. Skillets need replaced(teflon chipping) Dock access to lake great, although if dock is out of water later in season, renters need to be forwarned. Screen doors would be wonderful, as mosquitos were bad some nights, and with doors shut, it was too warm inside. The Loomis cabin fit our family needs very well, and we would rent it again.

We had soooo much fun at this lake house!! Made wonderful family memories!! The location is fantastic! I kind of don't want to share how wonderful it was, cuz I'd like it available so it doesn't book up too fast for next year!! :) Being on the lake, with the dock for our boat and jetskiis was awesome! We could sit on the deck of the cabin and watch the kids ski and play in the water! No beach for little ones, but all our kids are teens and up so that didn't affect our family. We really enjoyed going out on the lake in our boat and watching the fireworks. The neighboring homes did a fantastic display! The management is wonderful. We had just a couple minor things we needed help with and Matt got with us immediately and took care of everything!!! :) We definitely hope to go back soon!! Don't forget your skeeter spray, but that's expected on the water.
