There is a five-burner propane BBQ on the deck off the kitchen for grilling. Take in your food at the dining and breakfast bar seats indoors, or head outdoors to savor it on the deck.
Leave dirty dishes for the dishwasher and head off to bed - up six guests can use this home's three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a luxurious king-size bed, a small kitchenette, a private TV with a DVD player, and a private bathroom - it is located above the detached garage and accessible via an outside stairway. Two queens are split between the remaining rooms, with both rooms offering access to the sun room. Treat yourself to some relaxation in the private sauna before a cool shower in one of the three baths before bedtime!
From admiring the gentle waves, soft sands, and fascinating driftwood of Gearhart Ocean State Park next door to sunbathing at Del Rey Beach Recreation Site four miles north, this small town is full of natural wonders to enjoy. That doesn't mean you should ignore Gearhart itself, however - from a hearty lunch and a sweet treat at Pacific Way Bakery & Cafe to golfing at Gearhart Golf Links, you'll have lots to do right in town. Very roomy house with a beautiful view from top deck. Plenty of space to spread out with the room over the garage. Close to Seaside where you can get lots of food choices and shopping. Quiet neighborhood and so close to beach!
This house was the perfect fit for our family gathering weekend. The location was quiet and private, the decks on the second floor and roof top were AMAZING! Beautiful views of the water, and you could hear elk calling to each other in the evening. The kitchen was fully stocked, the fridge and freezer were big, and the furniture and decorations were cute and comfortable. If ever we come back to this area again, I would like to rent this same house. Thank you!
The rooftop deck was the best for stargazing while being serenaded by the crickets below. Close to fun attractions but nestled deep into a quiet neighborhood. A definite family favorite.
Three girlfriends on a getaway enjoyed having this nice spacious house for a couple of nights. Each had our own bedroom and enjoyed a nicely stocked kitchen for cooking. The decking is great for outdoor seating. Quiet, private and good location with a nice view up top.
We had a great kick off to summer staying st the Boat House! It was within great proximity to town and to the beach!
Good location although somewhat hard to find even with GPS. There was a pair of bald eagles right outside our window perched in a tree. Liked the décor of the house.
Nice place for a winter weekend getaway. Good for unrelated travelers, especially the separate unit over the garage.
The place was great for our party of four adults. Rainy weather made the enjoyment of decks a non-issue. It is as advertised, no surprises.
Very clean, great location. Make sure to use the virtual tour. If your older or have a problem with stairs this isn’t the house for you. The stove was a little outdated, other than that very cool house we all enjoyed the design. Three nice beds with a cool above garage private room.
We had a great stay. Close to surfing. We will be back
Great house for my husband and I to get away. The house had everything we needed and was a great location for visiting Seaside, Cannon Beach and Astoria. We would stay there again.
Beautiful home. Very clean and well stocked. Beautiful views from the deck. We were 2 seperate families staying here so we loved the seperate quarters above the garage.
The place was clean and comfortable. We loved the location, back in the trees, quite a magical place. I would have preferred a king bed in the main house, but at least one is available in the room above the garage. The upstairs was fun for us, with the deck, the nice, well-stocked kitchen, living room etc. all together. Would recommend getting the DVD player figured out, we had to unhook between the TV and the DVD player (DVD player was not plugged into anything but the wall!) Would recommend this place, especially for 2 couples or family that wants privacy, as the room above the garage is completely separate.
We had a wonderful stay at the boathouse. The house is super clean and comfortable. My wife and I loved the architecture of the home and all the surrounding beauty. We highly recommend this place and we are definitely going to try to come back.
Better house for couples rather then with children since the master is over the garage away from the main house. Wasn't that comfortable leaving even teenage age children by themselves.
This property was perfect for our travels. Our daughter and her family took the main house and we (grandparents) had the garage apartment. We could come together for meals and family time but when it came to quiet time/bed time we each had our own space. The outdoor areas are lovely, private, and it's like being in a tree house. We were sad to leave!
I say short stay, because the "master" bedroom over the garage is totally separate and has no closet or dresser; only 4 hooks to hang things on. This property is not child friendly or for the elderly because of the steep stairs going to the "master" and also upstairs to the living area in the main house and more steep stairs up to the upper deck. We had a 90 year old great grandfather and 3 great grandchildren, which we constantly had to watch on stairs, etc. Plus, we expected there would be someplace nearby to access the beach. We looked, but found nothing within walking distance.
This served our needs for our party of 6 quite well. It was in a quiet neighborhood and a very easy 15 minute walk to the beach. You could drive closer if you wanted. The kitchen certainly had everything you could want for cooking. Lots of outdoor space.
This house was perfect for our family. We only stayed two nights and so didn't get to enjoy the third floor deck or the sauna.
We were a group of two moms and 5 kids under 4 that stayed a week. One of us stayed in the detached unit and used the pack n play and pull out bed and the other used the 2 bedrooms inside on the bottom floor.
It was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a cleaner place to stay. Bay access was within a 2 minute drive and beach access within 5 minutes. And we could drive on the beach and not have to carry the kids and our stuff, which was awesome!
We didn't realize what a long walk it was to the beach. Although we could see it from the upper deck, we had to walk a long way to get to the actual beach.
The house, although rather 'unique' in its arrangement of rooms, was clean and comfortable with fresh linens and good location. Staff were very nice, thorough and accommodating. The problem is that this house is listed as a 3 bedroom, but at the time of booking made no mention that the master bedroom with the king bed is located over the garage, separate from the main house. When traveling with small children this is a serious problem. I see from reviews that appear after we booked that I was not the first person surprised by this.
Very comfortable, homey feeling. Only complaint we were unaware the 3rd bedroom was detached from the house, a small inconvenience but it worked. We had our grown son and his family stay in the house and we stayed above the garage. We had a very much needed relaxing time and after 5 days we still didn't want to leave!!
This is an interesting home with interesting features. The main living space has lovely floor to ceiling windows that gives you a nice view of the yard and the house behind it. The overall home is well maintained. I would recommend better seating in the living room. Our major issue with this home is that it is billed as a three bedroom home. What is not mentioned is that the third and main bedroom is in another building above the garage. You must walk outside and up a flight of stairs along the garage to enter main bedroom. This was a big problem for our two families with young kids. splitting up kids and parents wasn't going to work. The pull out bed in main bedroom was so thin and unusable. The living room is very small, especially for 8 people. And, the smell in master bedroom was really terrible. To the point that it was starting to give me a headache if I stayed in there too long. The layout of this house is funky (which isn't always bad) it just wasn't worth the cost. I've stayed in countless rentals on VRBO and this house is WAY over priced for what you get. Would not stay or recommend this home.
We apologize the layout of the home came as a surprise. We are also sorry to see the guest experienced an unpleasant odor in the home; the Property Manager and housekeeping have not noticed any smells or anything that could be the source of one. We will remain aware in case the situation arises again.
We stayed at the Boat House for two nights in February with our family visiting from the East Coast, had a great time! The house had more items than we needed, very happy to see small appliances and the treasure trove of movies/games (not to mention the bonus of plenty of towels). The light is amazing and the outdoor space from two decks was perfect, as we had some great weather. We are a nature loving family and the house was close to two trailheads, accessing both the grasslands and beach, it was perfect. Our kids enjoyed the sun room, the light was great to read books and hang out. The sauna is a welcomed touch, a great way to relax after a fun-filled day.
We will be back!
Well maintained property with a beautiful view from the roof deck. Well appropriated kitchen. Large windows with lots of natural light. Not much space or furniture for lounging around. I would stay here again!
