Dog-friendly bayfront home w/ 35-ft dock, ocean views & great fishing!

Mingle with manatees, dolphins, and seabirds at this sun-filled Marathon home, a dog-friendly angler's escape with a private 40-foot dock, a kayak for exploring the Florida Keys, and a spacious bayfront deck with views of the palms and the ocean.

This waterfront home is located on Knights Key, directly on the banks of an inlet made famous as a filming location for "Flipper." Whether you're in search of beaches or deep sea fishing, you'll enjoy easy access to the Atlantic Ocean - all just two blocks from the east end of the Seven Mile Bridge, five miles from Sombrero Beach, and 11 miles east of Bahia Honda State Park.

The living space is bright and lofty, offering high ceilings, large windows, and central air conditioning to keep you cool in the tropical warmth. Come home from a day on the water to relax on the plush furniture, use the WiFi to post a few photos, or catch a football game on the flatscreen cable TV.

Take morning paddles in the provided kayak, and return home to prepare breakfast in the full kitchen. This open room includes full-size appliances, a two-person breakfast table, and a small bar counter with seating for two. A dishwasher is also available to make cleanup a breeze.

Step outside onto the expansive gated deck, a scenic enclosed space where your dog can wander freely above the bay (please note that a small nightly pet fee applies). You'll find space for a 40-foot boat at the private dock. In addition, there is a bait freezer, a cleaning station, and a gas grill for preparing your fresh catch. There's a patio table for al fresco meals with beautiful sunset views.

At night, this two-bedroom (plus loft), two-bathroom Marathon home will accommodate as many as six guests. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed, while the guest room on the main floor has a set of twin beds. The third bedroom is an open loft that is accessed by a ladder-style staircase, offering two comfortable twin beds beneath the eaves.

Additional amenities include plentiful parking for trucks and boat trailers, as well as a private washer and dryer to keep your clothes free of salt, sand, and scales.

Thanks to its spectacular location between the Knights Key Channel and the open Atlantic Ocean, this home is a wonderful getaway for anglers, beach-goers, and all lovers of the South Florida sun. Watch manatees play in the inlet from the comfort of your deck, and take evening walks to the Sunset Grille & Raw Bar for dinner and cocktails just two blocks away.

Launch your boat from the dock to reach Sombrero Reef, an incredible collection of finger, brain, and lettuce coral that is frequented by schools of tropical fish, nurse sharks, barracudas, and stingrays. Or, spend the day at Sombrero Beach, Coco Plum Beach, and the gorgeous beach at Bahia Honda State Park.

Experience a vacation full of tropical wonder and serene relaxation - treat your loved ones to a stay at this Marathon home today!

Great fenced backyard with manatees in the canal and nice fish cleaning stand.

We had 3 father/son teams here and it was perfect. Beds for 6, great location for boating as it gives immediate access to both ocean and bay but has a very protected basin. 3 minute walk to Sunset Grille and 10 min no wake to fuel and bait. Already booking for next year.

We really enjoyed out stay.
Pros: great location. Convienent to everything Keys related. Easy access for boats. Friendly neighbors. Visits from momma and baby manatee every day, and you can see the sealife just under the dock, parrot fish, barracuda, moray eels. Walking distance to Sunset restaurant and beautiful sunsets over the water. Limited open water views between the other homes from the deck. Easy boating access to gulf and atlantic. A very short boat ride out to Sombrero reef.
Plenty of dock space to dock a boat. Beautiful dock and yard.

Cons: limited parking. If you are divers, like us, it a a long walk from the truck to the dock to haul all the gear. If you trailer a boat, there is no easy way to rinse the boat on the trailer. Trailer parking is across the street and down a ways, not visible from the house. It's a safe neighborhood, but still has alot of traffic flow, and we feel more comfortable having out boat and trailer closer by.
The two parking spaces in front of the unit are small. It's ok if you have two cars, but you cannot fit two full size trucks in there, and if you do have a trailer, only a small boat trailer will fit. (Nothing over 20') in the parking space.

I also had asked a couple questions during the reservation process that were never responded to. The only communication came from vacasa with checkin procedures.

Temporary Con: the area across the basin is under construction. They work 7am to 9pm, seven days a week, including holidays. You cant hear the noise inside the house, but you can hear it from the gorgeous deck. However, this construction will be done soon, dont let it discourage you.

Third time staying and loved it again. Everything great.

We truly loved The Fish Wrangler. The location was good and the house was perfect. Did it have a few minor issues, yes...but who's house doesn't. The house was comfortable and the perfect size for just my husband and me. We did have an issue with the HVAC; however, made and call and it was immediately taken care of. The Vacasa Sales Representative, Terry, was very responsive. Our last day we got to watch the Manatees playing in the canal. That was very cool. LOVED IT!!

Enjoyed our stay with some friends and their two kids. We all enjoyed the view, the kids especially loved the loft. This house had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing time. The kitchen is completely stocked with service for about 8, plenty of pots, pans and skillets, blender, dishwasher, all kinds of gadgets! It's nice that the washer and dryer are downstairs in its own closeted space and there's a separate storage room downstairs that has a second full size fridge (perfect for bait or extra drinks) and fishing pole holders! There's a great lighted fish cleaning station on the back deck, that is all fenced in if you bring dogs. The master has a firm king, the second room has a soft queen and there were four twins in the open loft. Plenty of dressers and desks and closets for storage. The master bath has a tub/shower combo, the guest bath has a tiny shower. Unfortunately neither of these bathrooms have AC vents, though there is a window in the master one. Lots of seating and tables outside on the deck and on ground level. There's a great view of the RV campground across the bay, which has a boatramp where we paid $10 to put in our boat. We all had great fun watching the various things going on at the boat ramp, manatee, tarpon, iguanas and fish in the bay. Would definitely recommend this great house!

Found this to be exactly what we were looking for. It is fantastic for two people, but might get a little crowded for more if you stay inside a lot and watch TV but the patio area was great for more people that iike to sit outside and party. Very clean, fully stocked with all you might need and just a great location to get out and find your fishing spots. The view in the future might not be the best because we heard they are putting in a big motel across the lagoon so that will not be a view to enjoy but I guess that's what they call progress. But with everything else being so terrific, we are already planning our next vacation here.
