Do you want to just get away from it all? Ken's Cabin, a relaxing McCall vacation home, may be exactly the getaway you are looking for to unplug, unwind, and enjoy the peace of your very own cabin in the woods.
Located in a quiet neighborhood about two miles from downtown McCall, the cabin is an easy bike ride from the center of town. Spend the days exploring the shops and galleries, and end the afternoon's excursion with panini sandwiches and wine on the deck at Bistro 45.
This quaint escape is well taken care of and decorated with a rustic, woodsy, yet stylish sensibility. Great for families or friends vacationing together, you'll love getting back to nature at this three bedroom, two bathroom cabin.
Surrounded by trees, the entrance is up some stairs and off a large front deck. Step inside and you'll be greeted with a comfortable, homey interior. The lower level has an open floor plan, with the living and dining rooms, as well as the kitchen, all flowing together, with wood beamed ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. Inviting dark leather furniture will entice you to sit back, relax, and put your feet up. On chilly nights, there's a great wood-burning stove and plenty of blankets for snuggling under.
For entertainment, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with DVD player is available for movie nights, and you can also plug in your iPod - perfect for those lazy vacation evenings where you just curl up on the couch with a good book and listen to your favorite playlist. There is no cable, though you will have WiFi access so you can stay connected.
A dining room table seats four and the full kitchen includes all the appliances, basic cookware, and servingware needed to prepare and enjoy meals. Make pancakes for breakfast or a hearty casserole for dinner. There's also plenty of counter and cabinet space as well if you'd like to bring any fancy gadgets or specialized bakeware from home, so feel free to travel with your mini-espresso maker and popover pan.
The master bedroom has a beautiful, four poster queen-sized bed. Heavy, velvety drapes keep the sun out while you sleep in. When you do want to get out of bed, the sliding glass doors lead out the back deck for a serene, forested view. Grab a cup of coffee from the kitchen and drink it while breathing in fresh, crisp, Idaho air. There's also a full bathroom with walk-in shower on this level.
Upstairs, another bedroom has lovely parquet wood floors, dormer ceilings, and a queen-sized bed with bright floral bedding. A second upstairs bedroom is great for kids and is carpeted, with two twin sized beds - one with a very unique frame. A full bathroom on this level has a shower/tub combo. There is also a laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer. This cabin will comfortably sleep seven guests.
In the afternoons, spend some time out on the back deck enjoying the view of the large yard. A firepit is set up for gathering around in the evening. Talk late into the evening around the fire, or end dinner with some outdoor s'mores for all.
The whole family will enjoy a day at Payette Lake: lounging on the beach, fishing, swimming, water skiing -- the activities are endless. A bit farther northeast is the entrance to Ponderosa State Park. A year-round destination, this 1,515 acre park is home to hiking and biking trails, as well as Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Be on the lookout, as wildlife viewing can include osprey, bald eagles, deer, moose, and foxes.
Spend time getting back to nature at Ken's Cabin. Whether you choose to ski down the slopes at nearby Brundage Mountain Resort, play a round of golf at the McCall Golf Course, or just lounge around the cozy fireplace with a mug of tea, this peaceful Idaho vacation house can be your ultimate escape!
