The house was in a super location, walking distance to the ferry. It is an older house with lots of quirks, but charming. The first floor bathroom is VERY small, we didn't brace the tiny shower. But the outdoor shows had lots of room and hot water. The back deck was great for cocktails and everything was great.

I brought my 86 year old and her 84 year old sister to MV. We loved this house. It is definitely dated, which we found very appealing, but had all necessary amenities. Beds were firm and comfortable. Various outdoor spaces to enjoy and very workable kitchen. The only downside is that the only indoor shower is on the lower level (bedrooms are upstairs) behind the kitchen. It is a very small shower and small bathroom. If that's a big deal for you, you may want to look elsewhere. It's probably what made the price right for us. I definitely recommend Vineyard Haven over the bigger towns. It's a pleasant walk to the little downtown areas. There is a DVD player and large TV, but be sure to bring your own DVD's, games, etc. We could not find any in the house. I would stay here again for sure!

The location of this home is excellent, both in terms of it's location within Vineyard Haven and the fact it is in this particular town on Martha's Vineyard. The home itself is old and only the kitchen is updated. The bathroom shower situation was a challenge. The home description states there are two full baths but this is not accurate. There is an old fashioned tub in one bathroom with an attachable hose that wold not stay attached to the faucet, so the tub could only be used for bathing. The other bath has a stall shower that is very tight and could barely accommodate a small adult. The bathroom within which the stall shower was located is also minuscule and the plastic shower curtain didn't seal well, which cause the tiny bathroom floor to get wet, despite our best efforts to prevent this. The men in our group had to use the outdoor shower-with mossy wood underfoot-not for me! On a positive note-property manager Don was very helpful and responsive to our requests.
Manager response:
The outdoor shower floor has been cleaned up. We apologize for the disappointments this guest experienced and hope to have another chance to impress.

The house was wonderful. Walking distance to town, and yet a nice, quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The house has such charm because of it's age, and was cozy and comfortable. We liked Vineyard Haven shopping! As it is a semi-dry county, it was a little disappointing to not just be able to enjoy a drink out at a bar on the harbor, but that was the only drawback. (And you can have a drink as long as you order food.)

We very much enjoyed it, although only there for a few days! We would definitely come back.

First the house has everything you will need. The location is great, clean inside and has a nice seating area in a garden outside. Now our complaint is upon arrival a car being in the driveway. I called and spoke to a very confused sounding individual who couldn't seem to grasp the question where should I park? We were unsure if we could street park as we have never been here before and didn't want to be ticketed or towed. When we rented the house and it said parking we assumed that meant the houses driveway. The Vacasa operator had no idea and rambled about the other people should be gone and park behind the car in the drive. It was a long scattered conversation with him saying he would send a ticket to the property manager. We were not parking behind someone we didn't know and blocking them in. There is a small building on the property which someone was in we noticed later on, we were not made aware of when we rented. They were not a problem at all and we did not want to bother them,( possibly the owner). To end this, no one called us back and we parked on the street for future renters. The last night we had to park farther away. It would have been nice to have been called back or someone let us know about the parking, and also that there was someone in the building next to us. I will not rent with Vacasa again as if a true Emergency happened, it seems you are on your own.

Manager response:
We apologize this guest never received an answer regarding parking. The car belongs to the owner who sometimes uses a cottage located behind the rental. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at The Sandrock House in Vineyard Haven. The home was clean and comfortable. It was lovely, quintessential Vineyard. Most of our time at the house was spent relaxing on the front porch. We will definitely return next summer!
